Was right nearby finding Lookout 3 and decided to see if we could spot this one. Astro Hunter and I did not have much hope as we approached, but it was lovely to look in this nice area anyway. 15 minutes later we gave up too. Nothing in sight except a large tire and a little bit of rubbish, some of which we cleared away.
No response to an NM after two months, and no sign of the CO at all for nearly two years. Time to put this to bed.
Four DNFs now, and the last credible find reported a waterlogged cache. Time for a maintenance visit, please.
Even using the additional hint "Cache on right of little goat track" provided by the CO, no luck for us today. Our search replicated that of Gasbottle where we found the "cut down object" but no cache was apparent.
Given the CO has not logged in for 18 months I don't think there is any point in requesting maintenance.
Will keep an eye out for future finds and then return.

No luck here. I scrolled through the logs and uncovered an extra hint ('To the right of the little goat track') and another cacher referred to a 'cut down object' which i believe i found but neither of the pointers got me to the cache. There is so much dead and decaying vegetation that i could easily have been fossicking within a few centimetres of the cache and missed it. It's probably time for a CO visit and an overhaul of cache location and listing.
Found the cache but it was soaking wet so could not log.Nice views today, especially of the navel ships. TFTC
Couldn't find anywhere near where it should be, signs of recent scrub cutting since last successful find. CO may need to take a look and confirm
Another good find while walking in the area today.
Took a bit of searching to find. SL TFTC

Walked up from the top of Howard Road at lunch time. A cracker of a day. Super view. TFTC
In Wellington for the weekend staying nearby. Nice day for a walk and a view with a cache thrown in. Cheers for the cache.

Great views up here tonight, a bit cooler but very still. *TFTC Bush Scouts, #8656* Took TB which has been here for a while.
Find #2520. After two days of cycle caching, today was all about Shank's Pony and a bit of a work out on the East Harbour Hills. Came up from York Bay, heading back to Lowry, a round trip of approx 10km. Nice views up here but a strong wind. Looked on the wrong side of south before spotting it under the... SL TFTC
I was a little confused by the descirption saying that the cache can be found on the track, you go up the track to the lookout and the cache is nearby but not on the track
Took a while to find, initially my GPS was wanting me to go down the bank but fortunately it settled though the cache was found more by cacher's instinct and the information in recent logs, the hint doesn't really pin it down. I have posted updated coordinates as it appears from the logs that the cache may have been moved a bit owing to the trimming that has gone on round here.
Thanks for bringing me to this spot with great views, relatively close to my home area but many years since I walked this particular track and never been to this lookout which has great views. Getting quite windy but didn't get blown over, I think that would be more likely if you were up there later today!

This one took a lot of searching around to find! Turns out it was buried under a lot of sludgy debris :s replaced it a bit better now I think. TFTC
Not much in the way of views today, everything covered in low cloud. Off for a walk along the Main Ridge Track. Short detour to the west to collect this cache. TFTC
#1080. Had to bypass this on the way uphill from Point Howard as muggles were in the clearing. No-one was around on the return. Checked the hint and it was soon found after that. Cache was reasonably dry and logbook was fine. Signed and returned before anyone showed up. More nice views out over the Hutt Valley. TFTC
This lookout intrigued me, Where you would expect to find a seat, a pull up bar! And somebody has had a good hack of the trees in order to preserve the view I suppose. Anyway the cache itself was not too hard to find. TFTC
After grabbing Lookout Three I saw that this was a short detour while heading back so went for it. After a short search I eventually found the cache quite exposed as the object it was hidden under had been cut down (and which is why it took me a while to find as I was looking for non-cutdown objects). After signing the log I replaced under another object about a 1m in the same direction as the hint. This object was also partially cut down but some of it remains so it should survive. TFTC
A spot of Saturday caching in the 'hood. And a bit of a romp up the hill. Good one.
Mmmm, took us longer than we had expected. Got truly muggled by dogs and visitors and needed to explain ourselves! Down on hands and knees in the heat of the search!
Finally, and we were pleased about that. All in order, log signed; cache safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

Quick find for piper. None of the group could reach the bar! 1st find of 4 we are looking for today. Cheers
A perfect fine and calm afternoon for a walk up here to find the new caches in the area. Came on to here after finding the first one lower down, and continued on afterwards to get the new one just up the hill from the top of the Wainuiomata road. Found this one after a bit of a search, it was well hidden and the additional hint was very helpful. Great view!! Signed log, TFTC
As I was up this way for the PD cache, I thought I would continue on and see if I could retrieve this one. Left as found, very well hidden. For the record, I couldn't even reach the bar, let alone attempt a pull up! TFTC - another one towards the Fast to find option of the DGSC.
Unfortunately we couldn't find this today, after about 40 minutes of looking and our GPS not wanting to settle (and with a couple of other caches along the ridge line that we also wanted to get to) we had to give up on this one for now. We will be back for the smiley!
After searching for a bit we thought about where we would hide the cache. We thought about the hints more carefully and eventually found the cache. The additional hint was very good. We did three pull ups between us. TFTC
2TF!! Wow, this cache is very well hidden. I looked all over the place and couldn't find a thing. After a quick PAF (thanks Caligula) cache was shortly in hand. Great views after a lovely walk. TFTC.
#5805. 3TF. Good walk on the hills. A number of walkers and runners today, but GZ itself was quiet. Quick find. TNLNSL. TFTC.

Wahooo - First-to-find @~7:55am.
Still no logs for this one when I got up this morning. Had a good idea of locality, although I had never previously visited the exact GZ. Another lovely early-morning hill-walk on the way to work. cache was a pretty quick find, and the pleasure of a blank logbook. Signed and replaced as found. Love it up here - and for that reason this gets a fav point!
