What a perfect day to search for a Geocache. The weather was spot on! No wind, no rain, temp was at a cool 19 degrees and I was visiting a place I had never been too before.I was lucky enough to be chauffeured by Mr Sims_Family who had his eyes on a couple of challenge caches that I'm WAY off from claiming. We parked up in line with the cache and we knew exactly where we had to look Smile. All in good condition here, thanks for the cache

Donutholes and I planned the day at Mount Beckworth to grab everything we could around the back of the mountain. The weather for the day was magnificent and we had a ball enjoying the wonderful space. The Ginja Ninja made short work of all the trails getting us close with only short walk to most of the caches.Thank you wozzle68 for the series

I found myself at a loose end this morning mooching around the house wondering which chores i would tackle today. Bored with the possibilities i decided to escape for a while with a spot of caching. That was the perfect idea and brightened my mood instantly. Now where to go? An area i havnt been to before, perhaps with some walking in nature and a good few caches to find. Mt Beckworth looks like an excellent target, lets go! The geopooch and i were quickly in the geomobile and away.

A nice quick find for this one, this is just what I needed for the day. I came across some lovely little mushrooms on the walk.

Heading back from a challenge cache further out and stop off for this one. Short walk to GZ where the cache was soon found and the log signed. Glad I don't have really big hands.

Thanks again wozzle68....cache all good.

I spent the bulk of today wandering around Mt Beckworth, getting some exercise ahead of this weekend's Australasian Rogaine Champs near Avoca. Apart from being in cloud, there was very little rain, however it was very wet underfoot. Cache easily found. TFTC.

You know that story about catching a monkey by putting a treat through a hole that is too small to fit both its hand and its prize? Red Face
I wish I had had a closer inspection of this cache before making a monkey of myself. Razz

After a huge day on Mt Beckworth, catnap777 and I had crawled back to our camp in Clunes, freshened up and hit the town for every cache we could get our greedy mits on. Twisted
Next morning we did it all over again on the northern half of Mt Beckworth. Cool

Beckworth Beckons, what an awesome series of caches. The variety of caches were exciting, and you were not sure what you would come across next. Some of the puzzles were testing, and it turned out we had to leave one behind as we could not solve it in time for our trip. All in all a superb set of caches wozzle68.

Found and signed with dalerious on a Mt Beckworth adventure. dalerious told me about the mount Beckworth challenges and series of caches not long after we met. We were looking forward to the day that would take us to this wonderful place, with it's varied assortment of cache types. It had so many positives. We had a full list, as usual, and I am so proud to say that we ticked off everything on it, and more!
We were staying in Clunes as our base for this long weekend and started our first night here with the Adlabs and their respective bonus caches Cool.
We ended up cleaning out Clunes, all but one trad which we are sure is missing.
Our time in this town, and on Mt Beckworth was memorable Big Grin. I was so excited searching for an archived cache in a secret cave. It never ceases to amaze me what you can achieve with a little pinch of determination and a whole lot of encouragement from dalerious Cool.
We thank all the CO's for providing and maintaining the caches undertaken here. So grateful to you all Big Grin.

Found day 3 of a somewhat impromptu solo caching and camping trip to Victoria from Adelaide.

I had planned to spend a week travelling, caching and camping along the Great Ocean Road, but my travelling companion had to postpone it due to other commitments. I was still keen to go away somewhere this week as well, so decided to head to the western part of the state on my own.

I created a bit of a 'menu' of specific caches of interest in the broad area that I might be in before I left home and just pottered along fairly casually, taking in the sights and grabbing what I could along the way.

I wasn't actually planning to visit this area, but I somehow managed to end up here and it was a good place to camp with what looked like some interesting walks and caches to find.

After walking up to the summit and back from Manna Gums this morning, I took a bit of a drive around the park.

Thanks wozzle68 for the cache.

30-Jan-22
After a yummy breakfast of bacon and eggs this morning at our campsite at Manna Gums, we headed out to gather up a few more of the geocaches here. Unfortunately not a lot of flowers around at this time of year that we could see.

Thanks for find #2671

On a caching and camping trip with day1976, he put together the list of caches, and I worked out we could camp near the Cork Oaks cache so we headed there. We got to camp with plenty of light to spare, so we set up the tents then drove off to start on the series.
We went the hard way through the bushes to get this cache, then back towards the road afterwards.
I saw a very cute little blue flower, which I looked up after getting home. Called a blue pincushion!

20-Nov-21
Ilukaperi and I did a flying visit to Mt Beckworth. One night of camping.

After setting up camp, we decided to nab some caches before dinner.

Tip toeing through the long grass, we eventually got to GZ where the cache was easily found.

Many caches where found over the course of the 8 day trip. Targeting multi's on the way there and back plus the challenge trail in Mount Beckworth reserve. The creative trails around St Arnaud where the highlight of the trip.

*3 Aug 2019, Found @ 12:07 pm, Find # 9584.*

Today I headed to Ballarat for a couple of events and to make a delivery but before that Mt. Beckworth was on the agenda.
After finding our main target for the he day, we now had a little bit of time to spend in the area before heading off to the first of two events.
We were now racing against time and we were trying to pick up the clues from this series.
We wandered over to this one but realised it didn’t have one of the clues we were searching for but we found it anyway.

**Thanks to wozzle68 for placing this cache.**

A visit to Mt Beckworth has consistently been on the cards since I was last here back in 2016. I still had the series to finish, plus there are some tempting new challenging challenges to be found. Today the planets finally lined up and together with Jacko, A and Anikano we made a day of it enjoying this great bushland.

"Winter is coming!" they say.
Well who cares - it is winter already. What counts now is that spring is coming - and the wildflowers are coming! Woohoo!
Thanks Wozzle68.

08-Jun-19
Winter is truly the best time for bush caching. Not so much of a slog, air is fresh, no snakes about.

Magic.

Pac-Man was quicker to find this one than I was! Was looking 10m away when he made the find. Stunning winter day! Tftc

We had arrived in this very beautiful area yesterday evening, and by the end of a thoroughly enjoyable late afternoon/early evening geocaching hike we had found 11 of the caches in the area. We then spent last night at Manna Gums campsite. This morning we set off on foot for what our GPS recorded as having been a 7 hour, 13 kilometre geocaching hike, with a total ascent of 585 meters and a total descent of 561 meters. After returning to our waiting hired cache-mobile we then drove on to find the rest of the caches in the area. We then spent a second night at Manna Gums campsite before leaving the Reserve, by which time the Mount Beckworth Scenic Reserve had become one of our all time favourite places we have visited in Australia - plus of course we left this geocaching playground with a full house of smilies! - not to mention the thrill of a gorgeous little Echidna who late in the day walked right up to me and then sat down between my feet - I felt so privileged! This was the next cache for us to search for in this lovely Scenic Reserve. The cache was soon located once at Ground Zero and log book signed. Thanks so much for the cache and greetings from Zimbabwe

TFTC. We had visited this cache last year , only to discover that the original sign had been removed and replaced by a new style. This was the first opportunity we have had since then to revisit. We had a mission today we wanted to get as many of the caches on Mount Beckworth as possible today to get closer to meeting the $00 with a twist challenge. There are also two caches here that will fill in a number on the D/T grid and also a month on the Ausmer challenge.
Not too many wildflowers about at the moment. A quick find

The title on this log book doesn't match the name on the GPS, but there was a log and we signed it then placed everything back where we found it. Thanks for the cache.

Found at 2:58 PM GAFF1 in the company of maccamob, riddell and xambo4u.
After finishing off the challenge caches in the southern section in the morning, we went back to camp for a rest and some lunch and 20 litres of water, tea, soft drink and even a beer!
Suitably refreshed we then headed off to the north to primarily get the Secret Cave cache and along the way picked up a few caches that were close to the track.
Thanks wozzle68.

07-Dec-18
While camping for the weekend with pprass like old times we were joined by maccamob and riddell. After a busy morning clearing things out in the south we are now refreshed to go for our main target, the Secret Cave and cleared out this one on way. Thanks for this journey wozzle68. Saw a couple of wild flowers this weekend

I wasn't attending the mega this weekend, so I thought the "Easter Escape" event at Mount Worth sounded like a nice day trip, so I planned to attend, and just see whatever happened thereafter. Having left the event, I headed off to grab a few more caches with au.fait. This was our first and like most of the others, it was an easy find. (Well it was for me. I went to the next cache before realising I'd missed this one. By the time I arrived, au.fait had already found it).

Thanks for the cache, wozzle68.

31-Mar-18
My last trad find before reaching the campsite where Wozzle68's event was being held. No trouble spotting this hide from a distance but the cache was nicely hidden. Out enjoying some caching time this morning before heading to Bendigo for Easter lantern parade tonight. Thx wozzle68 for your enjoyable caches, this area would be stunning in the Spring!

31-Mar-18
We were heading to Wozzle68's event on the Cork Oaks Picnic Ground and noticed this cache not far off the track. As we had time, we found a suitable park and took the short walk. Our GPS took us to a particular location where we quickly found a well hidden cache. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks wozzle68 for the cache and for the other caches placed in the area.

Well what an unexpected wonderful adventure this week turned out to be! Cool I was meant to be in Alice Springs, but plans needed to change, so a relaxing trip to Victoria was the go. Smile

We arrived here today to have a look around, as it's been on our to do list for some time. The grass is still long and dry, but we would keep a keen eye out as we walk for wildlife (Snakes).
The Park is quiet, although we did see two Rangers checking out facilities at Cork Oak Campground and also noticed someone had signed the log earlier today. Our plan was to check out the park, then pick up any caches that we came across, so we started off at the n/w corner first.

We didn't get all the caches in here, but will be back to tackle the higher caches and those we missed at a later date. We found the caches we looked for and all were in good condition, thankfully there are lots of caches here to enjoy.

We found the cache here quite easily, so thank you wozzle68 for this cache placement and the series here.

Nice hide this one - and a cute little container that did closely resemble a miniature version of a well known case.

Definitely enjoying the variety of this series wozzle68. Thks.

Do you know I didn't stop and smell the flowers at this cache - I actually didn't notice many wildflowers at this spot - perhaps it's not the season now - as it's a little past spring.

But we did see a few flowers in other locations. Smile

Today was planned with a cache trip to Ballarat and the Mt. Beckworth area for another geocaching adventure. DAB, Ausfox and myself met early, packed the geo vehicle with plenty of drinks as we knew today was going to be a hot day and we were on our way. We made it to our destination for the day and were greeted with a very hot Mt. Beckworth. Plenty of tall, dry grass which would have been a snakes paradise but thankfully none were seen. It was surprisingly quite green here in spots. A few tiny wildflowers were spotted by Ausfox and the cache located quickly. Stamped and replaced as found.

**Thanks for placing this trad cache and series wozzle68**
**Cache container and log in good condition**
**Took nothing, Left nothing**

Joined up with Na'wal and DAB to spend the day caching around Ballarat and Mt Beckworth. I'm glad we stocked up with fluids as as the temperature soared. With the long dry grass we were weary of snakes. We spotted the cache hide from some distance away so we didn't have to fish around for to long to find it. I only spotted 3 single wild flowers here.
Log signed and replaced as found.

Thanks for the cache wozzle68

Today I was in the company of Ausfox; and Na'wal. There had been a bit of chatter about Mt.Beckworth recently, so we decide to give this series a crack. I had never been here before, so I was really looking forward to it. We knew it was going to be warm and even though our phones said it was 31 degrees, it felt a lot warmer than that by early afternoon. Apart from a couple of walkers around the back of the mountain, we had the whole area to ourselves. There were a few flowers here and a novel way to the hide the cache as well. TFTC wozzle68 Smile

Well this was going to be a big day for Suscoe.
Up early and off with long shadows stretching across the ground in the early morning.
A sunny day with the temperature around 30 degrees during the afternoon was going to be warm but thankfully a breeze sprung up during the morning and kept going all day and so it cooled Suscoe down at times when it was most needed.
This was the 9th find of the day.
Not a sign of any wild flowers at this time of the year, could imagine them though.
Thanks to Wozzle68, a great idea to wander this park.

We were here with micaparamedic to help Highrod and The morris celibate their 10 years of caching but also hoping to grab a few more of this fantastic series.
After the celebrations had died we headed off to try and find some more.
This was our first stop after lunch and a nice easy find to set the scene for the rest of the afternoon.
Many thanks wozzle68 for the cache and great to catch up at the event.

We are on a road trip to attend "The Melbourne Event" Mega, taking our time to get there and on the return journey. Fortunately, there were lots of caches along the way to tempt us to stop for a while to smell the roses. This was one of those caches. Big Grin

We had made our way to Ballarat to attend the GIFF Event and having been told about another event to be held at Mount Beckworth, we decided we would attend that one to and find the nearby caches. After spending time with everyone at the Mount Beckworth event, we headed off on our cache hunt, but we soon caught up with others along the way. Razz

Thank you wozzle68 for having placed the cache for everyone to enjoy Cool
