What a perfect day to search for a Geocache. The weather was spot on! No wind, no rain, temp was at a cool 19 degrees and I was visiting a place I had never been too before.I was lucky enough to be chauffeured by Mr Sims_Family who had his eyes on a couple of challenge caches that I'm WAY off from claiming.Parked the car up in a safe spot as this is where we left it as we walked up to collect the rest of the trads. All was good at GZ Thanks for the hide
Donutholes and I planned the day at Mount Beckworth to grab everything we could around the back of the mountain. The weather for the day was magnificent and we had a ball enjoying the wonderful space. The Ginja Ninja made short work of all the trails getting us close with only short walk to most of the caches.Thank you wozzle68 for the series
What a peaceful place to hide a cache.Lots of room left on the log. Thanks for bringing us here.
So many great sites to see at Mt Beckworth on our walking adventures today
I found myself at a loose end this morning mooching around the house wondering which chores i would tackle today. Bored with the possibilities i decided to escape for a while with a spot of caching. That was the perfect idea and brightened my mood instantly. Now where to go? An area i havnt been to before, perhaps with some walking in nature and a good few caches to find. Mt Beckworth looks like an excellent target, lets go! The geopooch and i were quickly in the geomobile and away.
This is beautiful granite country, I always find it fun to explore and discover these wonderful landscapes. The cache was a quick and easy one here. At this stop I also discovered that the ridge track is closed which will change my plans for later in the day.

Last up this way before heading back down the hill. Neat little hide that didn't take long to grab....although there was a minute when I thought was it or wasn't it. All good though and the log was soon signed.
Thanks again wozzle68...

I spent the bulk of today wandering around Mt Beckworth, getting some exercise ahead of this weekend's Australasian Rogaine Champs near Avoca. Apart from being in cloud, there was very little rain, however it was very wet underfoot. Cache easily found. TFTC.

A quick find on our way up to the Cork Oaks Campground and a whole lot further up looking for an old archived cache just for fun.
After a huge day on Mt Beckworth, catnap777 and I had crawled back to our camp in Clunes, freshened up and hit the town for every cache we could get our greedy mits on.
Next morning we did it all over again on the northern half of Mt Beckworth.

Beckworth Beckons, what an awesome series of caches. The variety of caches were exciting, and you were not sure what you would come across next. Some of the puzzles were testing, and it turned out we had to leave one behind as we could not solve it in time for our trip. All in all a superb set of caches wozzle68.
Found and signed with dalerious on a Mt Beckworth adventure. dalerious told me about the mount Beckworth challenges and series of caches not long after we met. We were looking forward to the day that would take us to this wonderful place, with it's varied assortment of cache types. It had so many positives. We had a full list, as usual, and I am so proud to say that we ticked off everything on it, and more!
We were staying in Clunes as our base for this long weekend and started our first night here with the Adlabs and their respective bonus caches .
We ended up cleaning out Clunes, all but one trad which we are sure is missing.
Our time in this town, and on Mt Beckworth was memorable . I was so excited searching for an archived cache in a secret cave. It never ceases to amaze me what you can achieve with a little pinch of determination and a whole lot of encouragement from dalerious .
We thank all the CO's for providing and maintaining the caches undertaken here. So grateful to you all .

Found day 3 of a somewhat impromptu solo caching and camping trip to Victoria from Adelaide.
I had planned to spend a week travelling, caching and camping along the Great Ocean Road, but my travelling companion had to postpone it due to other commitments. I was still keen to go away somewhere this week as well, so decided to head to the western part of the state on my own.
I created a bit of a 'menu' of specific caches of interest in the broad area that I might be in before I left home and just pottered along fairly casually, taking in the sights and grabbing what I could along the way.
I wasn't actually planning to visit this area, but I somehow managed to end up here and it was a good place to camp with what looked like some interesting walks and caches to find.
After walking up to the summit and back from Manna Gums this morning, I took a bit of a drive around the park.
Thanks wozzle68 for the cache.

Quick stop here today, cache found and is all good
Today I made my way from Adelaide to Ballarat via a few caches and found myself in Mount Beckworth and a few other places, also making it a goal to complete majority of Ballarat geotour.
Odd being back in Victoria after over a year but it’s good to be back.
Thanks for the cache

On a caching and camping trip with day1976, he put together the list of caches, and I worked out we could camp near the Cork Oaks cache so we headed there. We got to camp with plenty of light to spare, so we set up the tents then drove off to start on the series.
Parked near the intersection and did the short walk to find the cache.

Ilukaperi and I did a flying visit to Mt Beckworth. One night of camping.
After setting up camp, we decided to nab some caches before dinner.

We had spent a couple of days and a couple of nights at Mt Beckworth and have enjoyed our time there. We decided to check out the Cork Oaks Campsite before heading off towards St Arnaud. On the way, this one was very near to the road and we stopped to find the cache. The name of the cache is really helpful and we were in possession of the log quite quickly. Log signed we carefully returned the cache to its hiding spot. The cache is in excellent condition. Thank you for this cache wozzle68.
A great day with Shumba7 enjoying all the Beckworth Beckons series has to offer. Lots of smiles collected and enjoyed. Thanks Wozzle68 for more fun times and an English lesson for my friend. A textbook example of the word.
TFTC. Quick find with Algae today and a day exploring the Mount Beckworth area. Nice day to be out and about not too hot and not too cold. A great day with a couple of hikes and driving around the area.
Yay we found it! We took Dad geocaching for his first time. He loves it too now

Traditional Find #2805**
I headed out with Steve on our first caching run since before the second lockdown. Ballarat, Mount Beckworth, Clunes and Creswick were our targets for today. The hill seemed endless or it might have been that I'm just so unfit, but we got there in the end.
**Thank-you to wozzle68 for placing this geocache**

This is another that I have been passed many times but haven’t stopped to look for it, today we did and it was found.
Finally we are able to get out and about so we headed for Mt.Beckworth, Clunes and Creswick.
I have been to this area a number of times now to try to find them all and after today it was nearly done but there are still 4 remaining, maybe one day.

Lovely hide. When we looked around we both spotted it at once, but being a little unfit its funny to watch us fight to get there first!!
I am disabling this cache during this public health crisis.

We dropped by on our drive back to Melbourne from Maryborough to check if we can get our caravan in to the camp sites here and on our way out again, we stopped to grab this cache. A nice, easy, well-maintained cache with clever camo.
Thanks

A visit to Mt Beckworth has consistently been on the cards since I was last here back in 2016. I still had the series to finish, plus there are some tempting new challenging challenges to be found. Today the planets finally lined up and together with Jacko, A and Anikano we made a day of it enjoying this great bushland.
Something looks incongruent here but I can't quite put my finger on it. Or maybe I can - I need to sign the logbook after all .
Thanks Wozzle68.

Find #10133
With a Rogaining event happening tomorrow in Daylesford, I decided to make a weekend of it and camp out somewhere nearby. I had been wanting to get back to Beckworth for some time, so decided this was the ideal opportunity, so after ParkRun near home, I packed the car and off I went. The weather while not hot, was looking OK for a walk in the forest.
A quick find here and it was time to move on.
Many thanks to wozzle68 for the cache. TNLN.

Found as Nicnax with PapaGrouch and MazzyMay. This gave us a laugh. It does live up to its name. TFTC
Logged as Nicnax with PapaGrouch and SciFiRulz. We headed out today to enjoy the adventure at Mount Beckworth and were not disappointed. We found all that we searched for in the many different positions, some hard, some easy, this one gave us a giggle, it really was a good example of (intentionally) wrong camo in a great place. TFTC
We had arrived in this very beautiful area yesterday evening, and by the end of a thoroughly enjoyable late afternoon/early evening geocaching hike we had found 11 of the caches in the area. We then spent last night at Manna Gums campsite. This morning we set off on foot for what our GPS recorded as having been a 7 hour, 13 kilometre geocaching hike, with a total ascent of 585 meters and a total descent of 561 meters. After returning to our waiting hired cache-mobile we then drove on to find the rest of the caches in the area. We then spent a second night at Manna Gums campsite before leaving the Reserve, by which time the Mount Beckworth Scenic Reserve had become one of our all time favourite places we have visited in Australia - plus of course we left this geocaching playground with a full house of smilies! - not to mention the thrill of a gorgeous little Echidna who late in the day walked right up to me and then sat down between my feet - I felt so privileged! With our hike complete we had set off by cache-mobile to search for the last of the caches left for us to find in this lovely Scenic Reserve, this being the next one for us to search for via this method. We walked straight to the cache where the very nice cacher holder was waiting for us. We signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cache and greetings from Zimbabwe
TFTC. We had visited this cache last year , only to discover that the original sign had been removed and replaced by a new style. This was the first opportunity we have had since then to revisit. We had a mission today we wanted to get as many of the caches on Mount Beckworth as possible today to get closer to meeting the $00 with a twist challenge. There are also two caches here that will fill in a number on the D/T grid and also a month on the Ausmer challenge.
Nice easy find in the logical location.

As we approached GZ, we thought that we had spotted the cache and we had.
Unfortunately, we were a little late in the season for wildflowers so that gives us a great reason to come back again.

Still making our way back around from our camp site; really heating up now so glad for the AC; can see a quick trip in to Clunes for an ice-cream in our future.
While camping with pprass at the waterless Dam for the weekend, perpetuallylost joined us for the day to clear some out in the north. A bit of 4 x 4 was called for and then a short walk. Nice effort, Easy find . Thanks for the cache wossle68 for bringing us to this different area
Found at 2:59 PM GAFF1.
Yes - we see what you mean by "incongruous"! It may not have been much of a challenge, but at least there was some effort put in to make it different and interesting.
Thanks wozzle68.

A nice quick find here. We had a coffee break and let the geo dog have a sniff around.
After the nearby relaxing event Muzza and I set off to gather as many nearby caches as we could signing about another 2 dozen. This one certainly lived up to its name TFTC wozzle68
I wasn't attending the mega this weekend, so I thought the "Easter Escape" event at Mount Worth sounded like a nice day trip, so I planned to attend, and just see whatever happened thereafter. Found in the company of au.fait. Strange name, until you find the cache.
Thanks for the cache, wozzle68.
Thanks for the cache, wozzle68.
Another quick find when you get an idea where the GZ is long before you get there. Enjoying some caching time this morning in the fantastic Autumn weather before heading to Bendigo for the Easter Lantern parade tonight. Thx wozzle68 for your caches out here.
We were heading to Wozzle68's event on the Cork Oaks Picnic Ground and noticed this cache not far off the track. As we had time, we found a suitable park and took the short walk. This was a quick find as there was something a little out of place. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks wozzle68 for the cache and for the other caches placed in the area.

TFTC - Out with Crackers from team Crack'n'LeeLee exploring the area and collecting caches in this series.
Out and about today with Ed from 2beez to check out the camping possibilities here and grab a few of this series as well. Made the find just as the rain came in. Mab it can get cold in this part of the world when the sun goes away. Thanks for the effort with this series.
Woo hoo, I got to do Mr Beckworth with the fabulous CO himself.....I feel very privileged as it was a super awesome day filled with cool driving tracks and lots of walking. [^]
Well what an unexpected wonderful adventure this week turned out to be! I was meant to be in Alice Springs, but plans needed to change, so a relaxing trip to Victoria was the go.
Wozzle68 and I buddied up, and we ended up being great travel companions [^]....OMG, so much laughter , loud music [^], off-key singing and fun was had [:o)] [^]. We also teamed up with ChooknChunk and travelled in convoy to attend Mildura for '3 States in a Day' caching and events. What a great 4-some we made [^]....certainly brilliant dynamics [^], fabulous conversations [^] and loads of giggles [^]. I then stayed in Ballarat for a few days which was great fun.

We arrived here today to have a look around, as it's been on our to do list for some time. The grass is still long and dry, but we would keep a keen eye out as we walk for wildlife (Snakes).
The Park is quiet, although we did see two Rangers checking out facilities at Cork Oak Campground and also noticed someone had signed the log earlier today. Our plan was to check out the park, then pick up any caches that we came across, so we started off at the n/w corner first.
We didn't get all the caches in here, but will be back to tackle the higher caches and those we missed at a later date. We found the caches we looked for and all were in good condition, thankfully there are lots of caches here to enjoy.

Well, I am pleased to say that this is my 500th cache. Found in the delightful company of dehands on the most perfect caching day. Slowly but surely filling Mt Beckworth up with smilies. Thanks for the incongruous cache wozzle68!
I had a good chuckle when I found this one - it certainly was incongruous!
I took a stick on most of the hunts today as whilst not super hot today, it was still a snakish temperature.
Luckily we didn't encounter any snakes at all today at Mt Beckworth.. but we did see one crossing the road ( we were in the car) whilst touring around the wider area, in historic Majorca (had never been there before also). See photo

Today was planned with a cache trip to Ballarat and the Mt. Beckworth area for another geocaching adventure. DAB, Ausfox and myself met early, packed the geo vehicle with plenty of drinks as we knew today was going to be a hot day and we were on our way. We made it to our destination for the day and were greeted with a very hot Mt. Beckworth. Plenty of tall, dry grass which would have been a snakes paradise but thankfully none were seen. These walks seem to get be getting longer as the day gets hotter. GPSr had us a good few meters away agian but we were able to make a quick find here. Stamped and replaced as found.

Joined up with Na'wal and DAB to spend the day caching around Ballarat and Mt Beckworth. I'm glad we stocked up with fluids as as the temperature soared. With the long dry grass we were weary of snakes.
After the dissapointing search on the previous cache we were happy when we spotted the incongruous cache.
Log signed and replaced as found.

Today I was in the company of Ausfox; and Na'wal. There had been a bit of chatter about Mt.Beckworth recently, so we decide to give this series a crack. I had never been here before, so I was really looking forward to it. We knew it was going to be warm and even though our phones said it was 31 degrees, it felt a lot warmer than that by early afternoon. Apart from a couple of walkers around the back of the mountain, we had the whole area to ourselves. Had no problem here, thanks for another smiley. TFTC wozzle68
Well this was going to be a big day for Suscoe.
Up early and off with long shadows stretching across the ground in the early morning.
A sunny day with the temperature around 30 degrees during the afternoon was going to be warm but thankfully a breeze sprung up during the morning and kept going all day and so it cooled Suscoe down at times when it was most needed.
This was the 8th find of the day.
Suscoe was enjoying the early morning shade and cool here.
A quick find thank goodness.
No sign of those slithery chaps so far!!
Thanks to Wozzle68 for showing Suscoe this place.

We are on a road trip to attend "The Melbourne Event" Mega, taking our time to get there and on the return journey. Fortunately, there were lots of caches along the way to tempt us to stop for a while to smell the roses. This was one of those caches.
We had made our way to Ballarat to attend the GIFF Event and having been told about another event to be held at Mount Beckworth, we decided we would attend that one to and find the nearby caches. After spending time with everyone at the Mount Beckworth event, we headed off on our cache hunt, but we soon caught up with others along the way.
Thank you wozzle68 for having placed the cache for everyone to enjoy

Found by Mary & David at 1110. Incongruous indeed! Had a little chuckle when we spotted it. Great camo. Our thanks to wozzle68.
Like many others here, once a parking spot was found it was a short stroll to the find.

Today Mr Highrod treated TR! and us to a 4WD excursion in this beautiful area. This was our first stop, quick find by suss, and on we went.
Thanks for the hide!

After a nearby event, the offer was made by 1/2 of HighRod (the taller version) for a little 4wding adventure with Suss_Vulture tagging along.
Saw some great views, some awesome locations, some awesome 4wding and of course some caches along the way.
Thanks for bringing us here Wozzle68.
