What a perfect day to search for a Geocache. The weather was spot on! No wind, no rain, temp was at a cool 19 degrees and I was visiting a place I had never been too before.I was lucky enough to be chauffeured by Mr Sims_Family who had his eyes on a couple of challenge caches that I'm WAY off from claiming.I looked under many rocks here which wasn't fun but eventually the cache was found! All is good here
I found myself at a loose end this morning mooching around the house wondering which chores i would tackle today. Bored with the possibilities i decided to escape for a while with a spot of caching. That was the perfect idea and brightened my mood instantly. Now where to go? An area i havnt been to before, perhaps with some walking in nature and a good few caches to find. Mt Beckworth looks like an excellent target, lets go! The geopooch and i were quickly in the geomobile and away.
I searched for a bit here, then I had to resort to the hint photo. After a while I decided that all rocks look the same. Eventually I got lucky though, good fun!

Back down this side of the mountain and stopped for this one. Another one that took a few minutes to locate, even with having checked the spoiler photo last night. Eventually the right area was searched and the cache was in hand. Sat for minute before the short walk back to the car and heading off for one more.
Thanks again wozzle68...

I spent the bulk of today wandering around Mt Beckworth, getting some exercise ahead of this weekend's Australasian Rogaine Champs near Avoca. Apart from being in cloud, there was very little rain, however it was very wet underfoot. Cache easily found. TFTC.

We felt rather pleased with ourselves for solving this puzzle together, and the only hint we used to get our names in this cache was the one posted on the cache page. [^]
Thanks for including the spoiler image or cat' and I would still be up there kicking over rocks.
After a huge day on Mt Beckworth, catnap777 and I had crawled back to our camp in Clunes, freshened up and hit the town for every cache we could get our greedy mits on.
Next morning we did it all over again on the northern half of Mt Beckworth.

Beckworth Beckons, what an awesome series of caches. The variety of caches were exciting, and you were not sure what you would come across next. Some of the puzzles were testing, and it turned out we had to leave one behind as we could not solve it in time for our trip. All in all a superb set of caches wozzle68.
Found and signed with dalerious on a Mt Beckworth adventure. dalerious told me about the mount Beckworth challenges and series of caches not long after we met. We were looking forward to the day that would take us to this wonderful place, with it's varied assortment of cache types. It had so many positives. We had a full list, as usual, and I am so proud to say that we ticked off everything on it, and more!
We were staying in Clunes as our base for this long weekend and started our first night here with the Adlabs and their respective bonus caches .
We ended up cleaning out Clunes, all but one trad which we are sure is missing.
Our time in this town, and on Mt Beckworth was memorable . I was so excited searching for an archived cache in a secret cave. It never ceases to amaze me what you can achieve with a little pinch of determination and a whole lot of encouragement from dalerious .
We thank all the CO's for providing and maintaining the caches undertaken here. So grateful to you all .

Found day 3 of a somewhat impromptu solo caching and camping trip to Victoria from Adelaide.
I had planned to spend a week travelling, caching and camping along the Great Ocean Road, but my travelling companion had to postpone it due to other commitments. I was still keen to go away somewhere this week as well, so decided to head to the western part of the state on my own.
I created a bit of a 'menu' of specific caches of interest in the broad area that I might be in before I left home and just pottered along fairly casually, taking in the sights and grabbing what I could along the way.
I wasn't actually planning to visit this area, but I somehow managed to end up here and it was a good place to camp with what looked like some interesting walks and caches to find
.
After walking up to the summit and back from Manna Gums this morning, I took a bit of a drive around the park.
Thanks wozzle68 for the puzzle and the cache.

After a yummy breakfast of bacon and eggs this morning at our campsite at Manna Gums, we headed out to gather up a few more of the geocaches here. I'd solved this puzzle many moons ago so it was great to finally get the smiley.

We had to PAF to confirm if we were in the right spot, my goodness I had walked right passed it several times! After finding the cache I went up to the top of the rocky outcrop where the views were beautiful, thanks CO.

We have decided to head off for a couple of days, with no particular destination in mind. As we stopped for lunch in Clunes, we decided to check out Mt Beckworth as a possible spot to camp for a couple of nights. It certainly helped that there is plenty of caches on offer, and we have solved most of the puzzles. This was the last cache before we headed back to the camp site. All in all a good days caching starting with an FTF in Ballarat this morning and rounding out an even ten for the day here at Mt Beckworth. The cache was in excellent condition and we were thankful for the spoiler photo. Under a rock would have been a cruel hint for this one. Thank you for this cache wozzle68.
Worked this one out easily enough many years ago, and when I got to GZ I realised I had been there before! This time I was a bit more methodical and soon found it. Many thanks wozzle68.
What a great day for a walk/hike around mount Beckworth, Not too hot and not too cold. I was especially grateful for not too much sun because I stupidly left my hat at home today. We originally were going to do this Thursday last week but 35 degrees walking around mount Beckworth didn't have that much appeal.
AusFoox; had previously logged a DNF on this one today he found the right spot quick stix

It was a Goldilocks day to hike up and around the picturesque Mount Beckworth with SimsFamily to work through the challenge caches.
It’s been a while waiting to seek revenge here as the previous visit the search was hinder by hot temperatures. So today on returning I was able to make a quick find D’oh.

A quick solve of this puzzle back at camp last night,
so I made sure to stop here today
And after a good 15 minutes of looking about,
this spot was beginning to look devoid of caches [:o]
Hang on !!
There's a picture clue ??
Back to the geomobile to break out the 'puter
With the photo memorised,
I headed back into the rocks
Hmmm ???
Aaaaahhh ???
Eeerrrrrrr ???
Ummmmm??
*THAT ONE*
I removed the rocky lid,
and ... nothing !! [:o]
I grabbed a nearby stick and got digging
A very well mud coated cache was found
All good inside though [^]

Today I headed to Ballarat for a couple of events and to make a delivery but before that Mt. Beckworth was on the agenda.
After finding our main target for the he day, we now had a little bit of time to spend in the area before heading off to the first of two events.
We were now racing against time and we were trying to pick up the clues from this series.
Once in the right area, it didn’t take too long to find this one but a lot of soil had washed down onto it and it was almost completely covered in mud.
**Thanks to wozzle68 for placing this cache.**

A day trip to Ballarat with an opportunity to come and explore Mt Beckworth. After successfully climbing inside the cave which took me out of my comfort zone, we continued on to pick up a few solved puzzles. Easy find with the spoiler pic.

A visit to Mt Beckworth has consistently been on the cards since I was last here back in 2016. I still had the series to finish, plus there are some tempting new challenging challenges to be found. Today the planets finally lined up and together with Jacko, A and Anikano we made a day of it enjoying this great bushland.
This mystery is another one that was easy to solve but surprisingly difficult to find. It took me ages to identify the area in the spoiler pic, despite its simplicity.
Thanks Wozzle68.

Another find for the morning. Making a good start to the day and pleased to say it’s starting to warm up a bit! Tftc
Found as Nicnax with PapaGrouch and MazzyMay. Took a little while to spot, tried to remember the spoiler pic information. The cache was quite wet inside again, we emptied it out and signed the log. TFTC
Logged as Nicnax with PapaGrouch and SciFiRulz. We headed out today to enjoy the adventure at Mount Beckworth and were not disappointed. Puzzle has been solved for quite a while and wasn't too scary. We left no stone unturned in the search till SFR finally made the discovery. TFTC
We had arrived in this very beautiful area yesterday evening, and by the end of a thoroughly enjoyable late afternoon/early evening geocaching hike we had found 11 of the caches in the area. We then spent last night at Manna Gums campsite. This morning we set off on foot for what our GPS recorded as having been a 7 hour, 13 kilometre geocaching hike, with a total ascent of 585 meters and a total descent of 561 meters. After returning to our waiting hired cache-mobile we then drove on to find the rest of the caches in the area. We then spent a second night at Manna Gums campsite before leaving the Reserve, by which time the Mount Beckworth Scenic Reserve had become one of our all time favourite places we have visited in Australia - plus of course we left this geocaching playground with a full house of smilies! - not to mention the thrill of a gorgeous little Echidna who late in the day walked right up to me and then sat down between my feet - I felt so privileged! With our hike complete we had set off by cache-mobile to search for the last of the caches left for us to find in this lovely Scenic Reserve, this being the next one for us to search for via this method. The cache was soon found once at Ground Zero and log book signed. Oddly the box was full of water - strange with it being so dry - so we removed the mouldy contents and dried out as best we could before replacing as found. Thanks so much for the cache and for the puzzle and greetings from Zimbabwe
TFTC. We had visited this cache last year , only to discover that the original sign had been removed and replaced by a new style. This was the first opportunity we have had since then to revisit. We had a mission today we wanted to get as many of the caches on Mount Beckworth as possible today to get closer to meeting the $00 with a twist challenge. There are also two caches here that will fill in a number on the D/T grid and also a month on the Ausmer challenge.
WE had this one solve a while ago. Spoiler photo sort of helped. To narrow the search.

Yay, another one off the to do list. Thanks for bringing us to this great park. Thanks for the cache.
Have had a fantastic time doing so many of the caches in this park/reserve. We have driven where we can and walked for so many more. Interesting driving in a couple of places. The Jeep got some serious air. Glad I was on foot when the 80 got the little bit of air that it did. Thanks so much for placing these caches and showing us another awesome place that we would have never probably visited had it not been for caching.
An easy puzzle but at GZ, there were lots of possible hides. After looking at the spoiler the cache was found. Nice hide TFTC
Fortunately pprass had already found this one the day before yesterday so he was able to lead Xambo4u and myself to the general area and the search was on. Xambo4u was the lucky finder here after not too long a search.
Considering where the cache was found the container is not very waterproof and the logbook and contents were very wet.
Nice spot though just the same, thx again Wozzle68.

While camping with pprass at the waterless Dam for the weekend, perpetuallylost joined us for the day to clear some out in the north. A bit of 4 x 4 was called for and then a short walk. Lots of options here but we had some guidance . Log book very wet. Thanks for the cache wossle68
Found at 2:25 PM GAFF1.
Once again there were lots of spots where the cache could have been hidden which was reflected by the D rating. When the cache was found it was odd to find that the container and log book was saturated?
Thanks wozzle68.

I thought this cache was going to take a while, luckily I went straight to it'.
Unfortunately cache is wet.
A small rusty item has been removed.
Hopefully a little more quick sun to dry it.
The log is only damp.
Nice puzzle once again, easily solved.

We managed to clean and dry the cache, all good to go, maybe keep an eye on it and report if wet again.

I wasn't attending the mega this weekend, so I thought the "Easter Escape" event at Mount Worth sounded like a nice day trip, so I planned to attend, and just see whatever happened thereafter. Another cache with the final given to au.fait by the CO. Anything but a quick find.
When we arrived, McAdies and kids were just coming back from rehiding the cache. We didn't see where they had come from exactly, which was a pity. We searched high and low and couldn't find it. We tried to call the CO's sister, but she wasn't answering. We were about to drive back to the event location to ask the CO when he rounded the bend. Au.fait waved her arms and he thankfully saw and tried to find the cache for us. After a couple of false starts, the cache was located. It was a little bit off where our GPSs pointed, but we had probably stretched our search that far, but clearly missed it.
My thanks for the cache, wozzle68, and for your help finding it.

After the nearby relaxing event Muzza and I set off to gather as many nearby caches as we could signing about another 2 dozen. We arrived here just as The MvAdies were leaving so we began our search. We continued our search. Eventually and feeling rather foolish resorted to PAF but no answer. Continued looking and moving every rock we could. Nothing. Finally the CO fortuitously drove by and came to our rescue. Thanks wozzle68

Having gotten my appointment out of the way (my reason for being in Ballarat) I headed for the hills specifically Mount Beckworth.
After being lead on a magical mystery tour to find non-existent roads by Tomtom (she frequently does tis too me just for being lazy and not navigating myself) I eventually arrived in the reserve after successfully circumnavigating it.
This was the first cache attempted i the reserve and was looking like a DNF when I just managed to spot something familiar in the shadows.
A little love for the unloved cache.
Thanks Wozzle.

Tricky hide....fortunately I had a really good PAF actually with me in the flesh...haha
Woo hoo, I got to do Mr Beckworth with the fabulous CO himself.....I feel very privileged as it was a super awesome day filled with cool driving tracks and lots of walking. [^]
Well what an unexpected wonderful adventure this week turned out to be! I was meant to be in Alice Springs, but plans needed to change, so a relaxing trip to Victoria was the go.
Wozzle68 and I buddied up, and we ended up being great travel companions [^]....OMG, so much laughter , loud music [^], off-key singing and fun was had [:o)] [^]. We also teamed up with ChooknChunk and travelled in convoy to attend Mildura for '3 States in a Day' caching and events. What a great 4-some we made [^]....certainly brilliant dynamics [^], fabulous conversations [^] and loads of giggles [^]. I then stayed in Ballarat for a few days which was great fun.

We arrived here today to have a look around, as it's been on our to do list for some time. The grass is still long and dry, but we would keep a keen eye out as we walk for wildlife (Snakes).
The Park is quiet, although we did see two Rangers checking out facilities at Cork Oak Campground and also noticed someone had signed the log earlier today. Our plan was to check out the park, then pick up any caches that we came across, so we started off at the n/w corner first.
We didn't get all the caches in here, but will be back to tackle the higher caches and those we missed at a later date. We found the caches we looked for and all were in good condition, thankfully there are lots of caches here to enjoy.
We found the cache here quite easily, but obviously not so previous searchers by the amount of rocks displaced, so thank you wozzle68 for this cache placement and the series here. Oh, one year and two weeks of unlove here - thank you.

Cache is still in place in original hiding position, added a spoiler photo for those that want the help.
I solved this one very quickly, well so I thought until we had to dig deeper and DAB came up with the goods. On location today had us searching and turning over every rock within 20 meters of the final location, plenty of previous search parties was obvious here. It was too good for us today in scorching heat that had us walking away and hoping that it wouldn't affect us finding the final.
Joined up with Na'wal and DAB to spend the day caching around Ballarat and Mt Beckworth. I'm glad we stocked up with fluids as as the temperature soared. With the long dry grass we were weary of snakes.
we searched far to long at the solved coords with the heat of the day beating down. With 3 sets of eyes we couldn't find the cache. We even widened the search area to no avail, so it was Devoid of a cache for us today.

Today I was in the company of Ausfox; and Na'wal. There had been a bit of chatter about Mt.Beckworth recently, so we decide to give this series a crack. I had never been here before, so I was really looking forward to it. We knew it was going to be warm and even though our phones said it was 31 degrees, it felt a lot warmer than that by early afternoon. Apart from a couple of walkers around the back of the mountain, we had the whole area to ourselves. The only DNF today. We gave it a good crack, but the hide and the heat beat us. At least we got to work on our tans !! Thanks for the hunt wozzle68 [B)]
After 20mins and reverting to the hint, the heat beat me. A dnf for today, will come back with some help on a cooler day.
Well this was going to be a big day for Suscoe.
Up early and off with long shadows stretching across the ground in the early morning.
A sunny day with the temperature around 30 degrees during the afternoon was going to be warm but thankfully a breeze sprung up during the morning and kept going all day and so it cooled Suscoe down at times when it was most needed.
This was the 7th find of the day.
Another pleasant bush setting and such a delight to be the only person here at this time.
Thanks to Wozzle68 for a nice placement.

TFTC. Out for the day with the GeoFamily and half of Clan McStormy to conquer the Beckworth Beckons Series, cache number 11.
Luckily for the hint we soon had this in hand as it's a clever hide given the area and lack of traditional 'usual suspects'.

Out caching with geodaddy on beckworth beckon's series like where you hid the cache. thanks wozzle
After what seemed like an eternity of checking potential hiding spots, eventually discovered the cache. In reality it was only 10 mins, but at least it was quicker solving the puzzle.
Found by Mary & David at 1100. Another great puzzle of a kind we can actually do. Plenty of rabbits in the rocks. Our thanks to wozzle68.

If it wasn't for getting a lil hint about photos like these at a recent event we would all still be scratching our heads in utter confusion and wouldn't be able to turn green dots into smiley faces. Tftc
Spent the weekend away with Team Crackers and Micaparamedic attending the events and picking up some of the local caches.
Thank you for the hide,

Travelling with The Coffee's and micaparamedic picking up some caches in this fantastic area.
We did not have any plans of coming here so we did work on these puzzles before leaving.
Fortunately with the use of mobile phone we were able to solve this on site so headed off to GZ and were very happy the cache was found it the first place we looked as the rain was just starting again and after signing the log got back to the cars not too wet.
Our thanks once more wozzle68 for another great puzzle, hide and area to visit.

Caching at Mt Beckworth today with the two geokids (aged 4 & 6). Along for the ride was Shamus1. This was the only puzzle I struggled with and a hint from the CO at a previous event soon meant I had the coords to grab all Beckworth caches. Thanks for a fab series
Found on our way home from the event with Misschief18. Had worked the puzzles out before we went today. So pleased we had.

I'd previously made sure we had the Puzzles worked out before the Event today, we managed to get to 2 of the 3. Found with chan02, neisha07 & boo09 after the 15 Year anniversary Event. Some fantastic caches in the area. We had a great time despite a tight schedule. We will be back for the rest sometime soon! TFTC Wozzle

Again we had solved this puzzle soon after publication. We really liked the camo on this cache too - not that easy to spot, yet so simple. A fave for the clever puzzle and the camo. TFTC
Things are pretty busy at home at the moment as we start to pack up prior to our big move. There are lots of things to do....and I really don't feel like doing any of them. Therefore it seemed a lot more sensible to load up the ute and go caching.
I have been wanting to give the Mt. Beckworth caches a crack for a while now, so it seemed like no time like the present. With the cloud cover, the GPS was all over the shop (talking to someone else who was caching elsewhere at the same time they were having the same issues), however a bit of geosense soon got me over the line.
This was worked out the night below with a bit of a lucky strike really. Anyway the coordinates were loaded into the GPS and I was soon poking around looking for the cache. The location was soon hunted down and the log signed.
TFTC and the puzzle.

We travelled over to spend the weekend camping at Mt Beckworth and complete the well regarded series. Bang on coords and just the right angle made this a quick find.

After some careful and rushed searching last night I had this 'one ready to go' in my cache list. Stopped and parked when I realised I was close by and it was with relief that I spotted the cache.
Made my mark, took note of the clue and headed off. It was very hot now.
Have I nearly finished???

I came to Mt Beckworth to do this series of caches on a cool Sunday as I thought a cooler day would suit me in this type of terrain. All in all it took me 4 and a half hours to do this series plus the 2 caches up on the summit. Luckily I found everything which can sometimes be tricky when there is just one of you!
Lots of prep work last night to read logs and make sure I missed nothing including solving the puzzles.
This solve one was nice and easy but the cache took a little while to be coaxed from its hide. I was careful to grab the clue as that was going to prove vital later on.
Thanks wozzle68 for a terrific series of caches!

Wow what an outstanding collection of caches – variety, surprise, fun and ingenuity all around Mt Beckworth! We had a great day working our way around the series with our caching pals Ian & Penny.
Ian had the co'ords calculated so the search began - round and round we went, there were dozens of hiding spots. Finally the cache was spotted by P-P where as usual everyone had looked! The log was dry even though there was water in the container. Satellites today had our GZ 5m north of the cache location.
Thanks to wozzle68 for the hunt.

[font=Comic Sans MS]Hi there wozzle68. We found your cache "Devoid - Beckworth Beckons" at 10:09:00 AM today in the company of phetlern. This cache makes our find count 10224.

We thoroughly enjoyed our cache run today, it took us to some wild and wonderful places - and the scenic views from some spots were absolutely stunning despite the rain. We definitely wouldn't have found all these wonderful places if it weren't for our obsession.
(Please excuse our cut 'n' paste logs today.)[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 6m South West from where the GPS said we should be looking. [:(!]
Cache Condition: [Red]The cache was soaked, so we spent some time drying it out, but it still needs some "Owner TLC".[/Red]
Took: Nothing.
Left: Novelty Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.[font=Verdana]

Found with Sully and Tess on our day out in Beckworth. Lunchtime was beckoning, and Tess needed a swim in the dam too. Thanks again Wozzle68 for this one, and the series
Bogonghazy and I logged this at 12:53, and all I could think of was lunch. All these exciting finds and the many and varied challenges of Puzzles were making me hungry. Thanks to wozzle68 for the hide.
# 7126. Robmc and I left Williamstown at 7.00am headed for the new series at Mt Beckworth. After reading a few logs saying how long they took and the trickiness of some of the hides I was filled with dread. Especially seeing the first simple one of the series was a DNF on the way in, after a very long search.
The second puzzle solved and we took rather too long here to find our target. It was very hot and I had to keep retreating to the shade. Finally Rob discovered it where I had already been fossicking but at least it meant we didn't have to stay in the hot sun searching.
Thanks wozzle68

Worked a 12 hour night shift then picked up my chauffeur, and we drove straight to Mount Beckworth (when I say we, BettyBoo3747 did all the driving, and I did all the snoozing!)
We arived about 9am and spent about 5 hours (including lunch), travelling around doing the Beckworth Beckons series. An excellent collection of caches with quite a bit of variety.
Another nice little puzzle (another one I forgot to correct!)
We were at the top of the park here and about to start down the other side.
Took a little while to locate this one. The sun was getting quite hot by now.
Thanks, Robmc.
