Submitted answers to ownerA quick diversion from an AL to have a go at an earthcacheThis was an interesting cache to wander around and explore in the winter sunshine. After hopefully locating correct answers it was off to continue on an AL into Sussex and enjoy lunch and coffee along the waterway TFTC
We found ourselves here today exploring the area - our neighbour back in Sydney grew up here! We were excited to see there was an earthcache to find so away we went. Our answers have been sent, we enjoyed the wander around. Its amazing what geocaching can teach you and what you see once you know what to look for. It was a busy little area today and a bit breezy but the sun was shining and it was nice to be here. Thank you!
Just a little while ago we Headed down the coast with my GeoChauffer for some time out, staying at Bawley Point again...
I am just now getting to log this cache as I lost my notebook with the answers to the cache I completed while down there, sorry guys...
The weather varied while there, some days were nice spring days others where terrible middle of the nastiest wintery days, like being in a blizzard , however the break was great.
There are some great cache down here including this one, they bring you to the coastline and show you what you have down here to play with.
Thanks for sharing this with us all...

Day 13 of our 2 week road trip south from Brisbane. After overcoming floods, a bogged car and vehicle electrical issues, we finally reached Canberra to spend a few days with relatives before continuing south for a loop around the Snowy Mountains. From there we headed towards Eden to commence the run north towards home following along the coastline.
After staying the night in Mollymook I headed out early this morning to visit a couple of local earth caches before moving on to a stroll around the One Track For All. Continuing our journey north I called in for a visit to this earth cache. Through good luck, rather than planning, the tide was low enough to reach GZ without getting wet. Great to find these interesting features in a stretch of rock that we otherwise would have ignored. Another example of why I love earth caches. TFTC

What a cool location. We came just after rain and the approach was muddy and slippery but once on the beach all was well. I was surprised by what we found here thanks to the earth cache. A hidden little spot that must be busy during summer... Answers sent to CO.
Submitted my response to this cache to the owner about 2 months ago, with still no response I'll go ahead and log this
Super interesting Earthcache for Berrara beach here, I had a lot of fun searching for this as the sun set; learnt a lot about Iron Deposits and Sea Lily's - love finding caches where I grew up, this place is amazing ^_^

Took a break from the beach for a few local caches. Parking conveniently I wandered down to the to GZ for a quick spy of the surrounding area, gathering the required information without issue. A number of muggles about enjoying the great weekend weather. Answers submitted to the CO. TFTC
TFTC,
What a great experience on a cold and wet day. So much to see here, added a favourite and visited trackables.

Found this interesting Earthcache today, wazza9 has contacted the CO with the answers. Thanks to Lightsabers
Came down here earlier and didn’t even realise there would be any fossils let alone so many. Very cool!
Thankfully I arrived at this EC at the correct time and the tide was certainly low enough for me to wander around the rock shelf and spot the fossils! Yet another amazing location, never would have noticed these fossils beneath my feet if it wasn't for the related question! Very cool and eventually spotted the one I was looking for after working out what the fossil should look like thanks to google!
The iron seam was a lot easier to spot, and the question was quickly answered.
Sent my answers to the CO and attached photos to this log
Thanks!

We enjoy earthcaches as we learn some really interesting stuff just from reading the cache description and GZ is always fascinating. TFTEC
We've checked out the fossils (thanks to this EC) many times over the last 4 or 5 years while holidaying in Sussex. There was always a missing piece! For some bizarre reason I was looking for an alive lily, not a fossil . Today we returned and managed to answer all the questions. We've had soo much fun exploring the fossils and rock pools. Today we were lucky enough to spot an octopus! Also glad I was wearing my water shoes when I unknowingly trod on this stingray! Thanks for an awesome EC that will see us returning many times. Fav for sure!!
School Holiday Escape. Interesting to observer those fossils and embedded iron. TFTC
Had to be nearby by for work, so dropped into this little town to grab the couple of Earthcaches.
Beautiful spot that is never been to before.
Cheers

Love a good fossil. This band of rock up and down the coast is very interesting.
Always love to be to given an educational sessions on the fascinating items.
My attempt to log took two visits due to higher tide. But both visit were great.

Heading north-east with PacGirl on a Easter roadtrip, we had no real target other than walking up Mt Kosciusko on the way to wherever we were going. I love these unplanned roadtrips where there isn't much of an agenda!
By this stage we had hiked around the top of Mt Kosciusko, made an impromptu visit to the Queanbeyan Mega, and ended up exploring this stunning part of the NSW coast. Sussex Inlet was our turnaround point, and after staying there last night we started heading back towards Melbourne following the coastline as closely as possible.
A beautiful sunny morning to be out and about on these beaches today.
Australia has surprisingly few fossils compared to some other countries I've cached in, so it's good to see so many good examples here.
Answers emailed and promptly confirmed by the CO.
Thanks Lightsabers.

I had the day off work & a farewell dinner in Ulladulla. So I made the best of the situation by spending the day caching along my way down. I picked up a few stragglers on my map, cleared out Sussex Inlet and Bendalong, and finished with a FTF on the drive home. Quite a full day, but it was definitely worth it. Cheers!
If I identified the right features at both waypoints, I wont have a problem. I'll send answers through later today. TFTEC

Day 4 of a 4 day georoadtrip with Miz Wacket and the geohounds.
While Miz Wacket tidied and repacked the car (she's already logged this one and recommended it highly), The RP and I went for a walk to the beach and to check out the fossils.
It was a bit chilly for this time of year but we had a really lovely time and the RP even had a bit of a frolic
Thanks for the fascinating and beautiful Earth-cache Lightsabers

Staying at Sussex Inlet for a few days so swung by this EC as we were out and about exploring
This was so fascinating! Amazing to see so many clear imprints of some of the sea life which lived here so many millions of years ago! Took lots of photos then I was back to the warmth of the car as it was drizzling, cold and blowing a gale! Answers sent to CO.
Thanks for this fantastic EC, Lightsabers-definitely giving this one a fave as fossil ECs are my favourite type!

Together with Team "GER-17" (consisting of murri24, der Eifelaner & dieFraudiemitmuss and me) I was able to find this Cache today while going up the coast from Batemans Bay to Gerrigong and further north (Wollongong).
What a beautiful location! I'll definitely come back one day to spend some more time on this part of the coast!
The answers were already sent by der Eifelaner and are hopefully ok.
Thanks a lot for this Cache!

DieFraudiemitmuss, Lundi263, Murri24 and I made this year a very great tour together. Our first target is Melbourne. So we started early in the morning to visit the city and to make a few geocaches. We found very nice locations and interesting spots. One day we rent a car. Very early in the morning we drive from Melbourne City over Geelong to the Great Ocean Road. Along this road we found so much interesting spots, we see a great landscape, and had have not enough time for sightseeing. The weather was fine but a little bit windy. This day was very long and hard, but wonderful.
After that we visit the Grampians. A little bit rain, a little bit windy and a little bit sunny day, we had fasten all weathers. We visit waterfalls, canyons, sandstone fomations and any Look Outs. Puhhh, what a great landscape.
The next part of our journey is to explore the Outback. From Ayers Rock we take a car and drive over Kings Canyon and many other Look Outs to Alice Springs. We visit any very interesting Caches and had a great time by comfortable temperature.
Now we drive from Melbourne over Canberra, Batemans Bay, Wollongong, Blue Mountains and Sydney. We want to see so much as possible of this part of Australia. Today we started in early in Batemans Bay. We drive along the coastline and visit any Earthcaches. So we saw any nice beaches and romantic places. Once more we visit great locations.
This Cache was one of my favorite Caches, wich I would visit in Australia. Thank you very much for showing. This theme was very interesting. I have learned a lot over the australian geology.

Really rich in fossils of many kinds, it's such a pleasure to wonder over the rock shelf and spot all the shells and things from long ago. Well worth the visit. TFTC
Such a great earthcache to visit. So many fossils in the rock platform, was amazing
Thanks for the cache information. Well deserved favorite from me, and of course TFTC

A definite favourite for me!! This cache is exactly why I love caching. It was fun, interesting and educational. I have been to this beach heaps of times and I'd noticed the fossils but had ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA how old they actually are. So thanks to this cache I have a new appreciation for them. They really are quite spectacular. I also didn't know that those ridges often seen in rocks were iron seams-and now I do. So thank you very much lightsabres, it was terrific
On our way through New South Wales we came to this Earth Cache.
It is a nice and long journey.
The weather is sunny and warm.
Thank you very much for leading us here and showing the place.
Greetings from Switzerland,

Visiting the area for a couple of days from Tassie. Managed to grab a few caches along the way. A lovely beach and nice to grab an earth cache too. Did this with Mister JD and cindycat. Tftc.

What an excellent earthcache. Loved the fossils, and the company of CindyCat and SmileyBear. We arrived, and wandered down here. The GeoSchnauzers were more interested in chasing seagulls than in the earthcache, but the rest of us set out to look at then fossils, and answer the questions. We poked around and saw numerous fossils - it's a bit like the fossils at Warden's Head at Ulladulla - fossils everywhere.
I gave the guys a lesson in waypoints, and we found the various stages and collected answers to the questions. Then the guys went off to eat and continue south, while the dogs and I wandered around some more and looked at fossils. Then, as I was about to leave, the pod of fifty or so hunting dolphins which had been following me down the coast showed up, still pestering the poor baitfish. So we stood and watched them for a while. Fantastic.
Thanks for this one, Lightsabers. It's made my day!!

I really enjoyed this earthcahe.i visited here today while some caching in the surrounding area and planned my visit here according to the tides.
It was such a nice day here today, the sun was shining,no wind and surprisingly I had it all to myself
I found both areas and had found my answers but after visiting area 3 I was back at area 2 for about 30 more mins just looking around.very impressive.
Logging this after the all clear from the CO
Thanks for bringing me here Lightsabers.
Fav point.

I was in Sussex Inlet for our traditional Father's Day laksa at the RSL and, given this Earthcache had been published since I last came through and found all the caches down here, it seemed like a good thing to come and work off my laksa-belly with Geodad Gill&Tony. Sadly I hadn't paid attention to the tides so things got a little tricky, but with permission from the CO I was able to complete my research on dry land and send in some relevant answers. It's a great spot here and doesn't seem to have suffered in the recent floods of this area. TFTC!
Had a great day caching south yesterday with the goal of finally tackling this earth cache. Great area to explore! We got heaps of these fossils here at the gerroa platforms as well.

We spent a few days staying not far from here but the bitterly cold weather and strong winds prevented us from getting out much. The day we ventured down onto the beach we didn't time our run too well. After dodging the waves the Rats and mini rats collected all the info we needed.
There were some awesome fossils in the rocks. Logging with permission.
Thanks for highlighting this cool spot.

The fourth find for the day whilst at Berrara. I arrived at GZ and then began figuring out what was required. I grabbed what I thought was suitable answers (and they seemed to live up the the CO's standard). TFTE Lightsabers!
Vielen Dank an den owner, dass er uns zu diesen wunderschönen Strand gelockt hat. Das war der Schönste, den wir bisher hier sahen. Schade, dass unsere Reise heute noch weiter ging. Wären gerne geblieben.

What an amazing amount of fossils, I which we have never seen so many before in such a vast quantity.
This is quite a special secret place. We had a lot of fun where the creek met the ocean. Riding blow up mattresses down the rapids, sandcastle and a sunburn to boot. All special family holiday time, thanks Lightsabers

On the way back up the coast we made the detour off the highway from this EarthCache. I've stayed nearby a couple of times in the past and it is a good area with the lake nearby.
The kids all enjoyed having a look around, we found plenty of fossils and one came home with a lot of sand and shells in his pocket! The fossils were a nice highlight. TFTC!

Checked the tide this morning and then made a quick trip to this awesome spot. Amazing what fossils are here. When you start looking they are everywhere. Would have loved to have spent more time exploring but the tide was coming in very quickly now with a swell behind it. Made a quick retreat to the cafe for a coffee. Thanks for bringing me here.

Logged with the permission from the CO. The beach was fairly quiet today with only a couple of people sun worshipping and snorkelers submerging themselves. We got on with the geo lesson and collected the information required. Interesting little fossils. TFTC
Find Number 611 and FTF #18, found at 10:22
This was supposed to be a quiet day in, but last night I checked my e-mails and found that a new earthcache had been published at Berrara, near Sussex Inlet. Never needing much of an excuse to lunch at the Sussex Inlet club, we dropped everything and headed out to Berrara.
Low tide wasn't until 12 noon, but we hoped that arriving about 10:15 would see enough of the rock shelf exposed and so it was. What a beautiful spot. Sand, rocks, crystal clear rock pools and an earthcache to boot.
We quickly gathered the required data and then retired to the club for a drink and I was able to e-mail the CO with the answers.
By the time we returned home the reply was waiting for me. Yes, the answers are good and yes FTF! And, yes, there's another earthcache - this time at Narrawallee. No rest for the wicked.
Thanks Lightsabers for the earthcache and for bringing us to this great spot. Definitely worth a favourite point from us.

No response to my Email sent over 5 hours ago so will log my find. Visited today arriving about 45 minutes before low tide. Co-ordinates for the lily revealed two examples within 3 metres of one another (accuracy 4 metres). One lily was complete & a fine example, the other much less so. Chose the complete example for the measurement. Then wandered over to the iron intrusion before having a good look around, taking numerous photos as I will Waymark the sight as well. I had taken a photo of a very large lily in 2010 & found other examples today, including just a stem. Numerous pectins.
If I have chosen the wrong lily I took photos of the lesser one (two individual segments) & measured those as well. You never know, just in case.
Thanks for the Sunday drive.
