Seems this one has walked again so time to free up the spot for another cacher. Thanks to all who found this cache.
Why so few recent visitors to this one? A lovely cache on a beautiful sunny day - thank you, Rapidlywild. This piece of road would be lovely for trainee drivers and scooter riders.
Pulled up for a quick find in the obvious spot. Wouldn't want to drop it though. TFTC Rapidlywild.

While still based at Yass we meandered around different localities finding caches. Yours was one we targetted and found. Our thanks to Rapidlywild for placing this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
Tankengine and I decided on a last minute trip together out and about the countryside.
We got a few caches that he didn't have and of course heaps that I didn't have. It was a lovely morning of caching ending with lunch in Binalong - which I highly recommend the Cafe on Queen. Thank you Tankengine for all the driving and company. I had a great day out.
This cache: This was the last cache of the day. It was a quick find and sign. Putting back however was pretty quick too. Just as I was going to hang it back in place the wind blew up and pulled the cache right out of my hand and dropped into the pipe! Bugger! I contacted the CO to let them know that I had lost the cache, but luckily as I don't live far I was able to come back the following weekend and with the help of Tankengine's mastery we were able to pull the little bugger out. Tankengine insisted that he hook it back on for me. Nice little stop off the side of the road. Tftc Rapidlywild!!!

We really took the road to nowhere! ...and it was quite tricky to get off the freeway! Now to get back on it TFCC!
i've done some park and grabs before, but this is the first time i've ever managed to grab the cache from the driver's seat thanks, kept me amused while travelling back to canberra while the kids were still distracted by game machines

Quick find, all in good order. Nicely done a bit afraid it wouldn't hold very tied.
Thank you Rapidlywild for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

While staying in Yass waiting for the Mega we ventured out to find some caches TFTC
Caching in and around the area with Gullivers Travels54, we picked up a few caches in the area and this was one of them.
An easy find at GZ, cache and contents were in good condition.

With GreyHams we set off at a respectable but still early enough time with the plan to cache Yass for the day. We both had a number of caches we both needed along the way so made a few detours, caching our way through the still not hot morning.
Between us both we had a number to collect as we drove towards Yass, a few newly published in areas previously cached, park and grabs and a few walks. A very relaxed and enjoyable day, avenged a DNF from way back and added a few more!
The heat in the late afternoon kicked it up a notch but managed a productive day and had fun doing it! Feeling the heat and the long day it was time to head back towards Canberra with a few more caches on the way back. Had just pulled into the driveway when a notification of a new cache came in, perfect timing, tiredness forgotten and it was back out the drive and off to chase down a new cache... funny, but where did that new energy came from!?
Thanks for the cache and adding to the days adventures.
I have driven past this one so many times and wanted to stop for it but on the homeward journey its usually too tired and to keep going. It had been a long day but not so much to not stop this time. It was certainly hot enough but I wasn't out the car so long to feel it, could feel the air blow out the car door as I logged on the front seat!

An early start due to my wife having a morning shift meant a leisurely drive from Melbourne back to Canberra, allowing a restful stop in a very warm Gundagai. A short walk around town gathering a few interesting looking caches seemed in order.
The leisurely trip allowed for a few stops along this road. Over time I will probably stop and gather all of them when I can, but for now just a few to keep things ticking along. A nice easy find on this pretty pointless kind of road (not the Barton, which is a quite useful highway, but the little pointless nowhere road). TFTC

I made a late decision to go for a lobby caching road trip today, but boot wanting to go into the busy CBD of Sydney i instead chose to go into the remote regions via the great southern road.
These scattered drive by caches along country roads are much more enjoyable to find than many micros.

Another one done. Woo Hoo! I love the challenge of the geocache hunt - read the notes, decipher the cache requirements, and go searching for the hide. This is an amazing world-wide game of hide and seek. I love it! I also enjoy caching with my family, and meeting fellow cachers. It really is a small world when I read over cache logs. **Thanks go to Rapidlywild** for placing this cache and maintaining it. It's a great contribution to the Geocaching community and much appreciated.
I enjoyed finding this one at 7:00:15 PM with 7yo geokid and Jackson Lightning on our road trip back to Canberra. Cache is in good condition, wlthough the wire is starting to rust and become brittle. If it snaps the cache will become irretrievable.
TFTC! Cheers. *Jump Pilot*

Wondering back home after the Alexandra event. 2870 so far for us. Thanks for placing this cache Rapidlywild, without cachers like you we wouldn't have a hobby. Signed log. took nothing, left nothing. Please take a bow. we did many caches today and most if not all were in good condition and actually there. We cache in a lot of country towns, the caches on the open roads are usually there but the town ones are a mixed bag. The cache owners around here take a bow. really well done.
We are heading south to Alexandra and left Nanango on Monday 4th November.
Day one we overnighted in Moree, Day two, three and four we over nighted in Dubbo. On day five we overnighted in Shepparton and days six and seven we over nighted in Bendigo. Now we are up to day 8 and we left Bendigo for our next 4 night stop over in Queabeyan before we head to Alexandra on Friday. Todays cache finding has begun. Next one on our list. Signed log YOF as that is what I use on small, Nano and micro log sheets to save room on the paper. All good. I parked well off the highway and was able to rejoin it when there was a lull in the traffic Quick Find. TFTC Rapidlywild

Having spent the majority of my caching time in the last few weeks trying to solve Puzzle caches around Alexandra and Goulburn, I decided to get outside this afternoon after The Race, to grab some traditional caches. The Barton Highway was chosen as a likely candidate for about a dozen caches, which as it turned out, was right on.
I thoroughly enjoyed being out in the car by myself again after being in a stuffy Club with hundreds of others eating, drinking and talking loudly - except while The Race was on, when they were shouting and screaming!
All the caches were found easily and most were in good condition.
Thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining these caches for us to enjoy. TNLN Stamped or signed logs as SG as I often do in small caches to save space.

Another big weekend in Canberra was over, and it was time to embark on my journey home to Melbourne. Once on the Barton Highway, there were plenty of stops as I left Canberra and the ACT and headed into NSW. It was a mere -5 degrees this morning; frost and ice everywhere!
I noticed the C2Y series of caches on my way into Canberra on Friday - happy to grab most of them this morning. I missed this one due to traffic issues on Friday. I had to u-turn into the gravel road and then u-turn back onto the highway. The traffic was much better early on a Sunday morning than it was on Friday. Thanks for the cache, Rapidlywild.

I had to skip this one last time I was passing because someone was tailgating me so close it distracted me from looking out for the entrance. This time however, I let the idiots pass me, and I knew what the entrance looked like so it was not such a surprise. After exiting the main road, a bit of a drive up some pristine concrete road... to nowhere except a nicely hidden cache. Thanks for the cache, Rapidlywild

Like a maccas run, doing a caching run along the Barton hwy to yass, collecting as many caches as humanly possible. Quick find just of hwy, parked about 5m away.
Out hunting cache locations and thought I should pick up at least one. Nice little hide. TFTC.
Always going home via the dirt, finally with no reason to be home got the chance to get the Barton Hwy GC's. Damn the traffic up your butt, lucky for the second entrance. Located in no time. TFTC
Found on the way back to Canberra from Geelong. It was at least 37 degrees today and in the distance, we could see the bushfire out at Sutton, so it was super hot getting this one. However, in the hot wind, this was was a very quick find - nicely done! Cool little road that was fun to drive on by ourselves. TFTC RW!

#11177. The first day of our two week Canberra Holiday and it was a travelling day between Beechworth and Carwoola with several caches thrown in for good measure. Robmc and I enjoyed our trip under the clear blue skies and jet streams. What a way to finish Spring!
I think the nearby tree has seen better days. It was rather windy here this afternoon after such a calm day on the way up. Spotted a likely hiding place and there it was. Always a good feeling.

Quite a breezy spring day. Not unpleasant, but it blew my hat off occasionally. Today I returned to Yass for unfinished business. I am always surprised by the interesting places Yass has to offer. I found some very cool spots today: Hatton's corner was certainly a highlight with sone monumental geology to see there. Yass's railway history was also a focus today.
I saw this one come up on the TomTom & made an emergency stop to grab it. The windy conditions made the cache holder play a tune.

Team Lewin headed from goulburn to canberra to visit questacon for the little geokid today. Our plans were do a couple in canberra before venturing off to yass for a few hour while the little one slept and we took turns at grabbing those smiley faces we all love so much. Had a great afternoon with most of the caches attempted being found , only a couple of DNFS and was due to nearby muggles or the cache simply not there (thats what we believe anyway!).
As usual yass turned up the goods and look forward to coming back for the many more caches we left for future trips.

Fitzy_1965, SpecimenX and I headed out on a geocaching mission to collect a few numbers for Fitzy_1965 as he has a mission to find 2000 caches this year. This mission was from Canberra to Borowa, onto Cowra, Young, Grenfell and back home. We travelled well over 700kms over 13.5 hours! I found 54 caches in total, my best ever daily total, and surprisingly 5 FTFs! Fitzy obligingly did all the driving and SpecimenX and I made most of the finds, although SpecimenX had her caching glasses on today and was quick to spot most of them. We had solved a few puzzles before leaving so we were well armed to collect both trads and puzzles. The rain/drizzle/mizzle did not slow us down and we had a great day of caching and laughs. We signed the logs as S A F I (for invasion) to save time in the rain!
52nd cache of the day found on our way back to Canberra after a long day of caching. We found a couple more "unplanned" ones on the way home just to make sure we all had the numbers we wanted, including this one. I ended up with 54, my best day of caching to date! Fitzy missed the proper entrance to this cache, so he did a quick turn in at the southern end - not the best option, but no-one was behind us. Another quick find thanks Rapidlywild!
