A series of DNFs and two needs maintenance met with no response from the CO. Today, I was there with a previous finder who confirmed that the cacche is not where they found it. In light of no action from the CO, I am requesting that this cache be archived.

Found this one on our Bribie beach 4x4 geocache run today with dahumbug, Mr wesso, Kiki97 and Snow Bear.

On our way back from the run up the beach Mr wesso suggested that we give this cache a go, as last time he was here the water level was a bit different. After a brief search the cache was located, signed and put back the way we found it.

Found @ 1420 hrs

Out and about today on a little 4x4 action caching adventure with Dahumbug, CoolumRoo & Kiki97.

I had previously been here earlier in the year when the waterway was in full flood. Today it was just a gentle flow which made the cache extraction nice and easy for Humbug, who drew the short straw for this one.

Once we extracted the cache from it's hide the log was signed by all before we replaced cache exactly as we found it.

All good with this cache and it's condition.

Found late afternoon after driving up the beach with Mr Wesso and CoolumRoo and family. Mr Wesso had been here before and was thankful I could locate it. Probably a good thing that they don't want you to jump over the tanks anymore even though its really tempting.

Great to find one of your caches bloodredtigers, haven't seen you on the book of face recently?

Cheers for this cache.

[font=Comic Sans MS]Hi there bloodredtigers. We found your cache "Bridge on the river Kwai" at 2:24:00 PM today. This cache makes our find count 11463.
[Blue]
Today was just the sort of day for a sight seeing tour around some of the roads in the area. We picked a random cache and let our GPS decide our route by going to the "next closest" one.
In our travels we found 13 (and DNF'd 3).
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
Cache Condition: The container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Smiley Badge.
Grabbed Trackable: "ILoveNZ"
Thanks for the hunt,
Regards

Out on a trip with out"n"about (geodaughter-Miss 11) to do some maintenance on Dutchie1950's nearby cache we called in to this interesting spot. With a bit of manouvering, some "eye spying" with one eye closed looking through the vantage point and some teamwork we extracted the cache and signed the log. Dropped off a TB to continue its journey. Tftc bloodredtigers! Big Grin

Spent the day looking around Bribie Island, and picked up 2 caches for the day.
We had a fair idea where this one would be, but it took a bit to retrieve.
Signed the log, and replaced as found.
Many thanks for placing this cache, bloodredtigers, for us and others to find.

We decided to head out to Bribie Island today. The weather has been so beautiful and it was no exception on this lovely Sunday. We successfully revisited a couple of caches we had not found last time and got a few more as well. Love the area and we have left enought (through lack of time) so we can happily come caching here again. Found this one after a short search. Big GrinBig Grin Thanks to bloodredtigers.

Found the bridge in question but water a bit high for a proper search. As it was very early on a big day scheduled - did not want to get totally muddy at this stage. Already changed out of sweaty running clothes after the Zoo run. Will check it out again when next in the area.

Found today while out for a lovely Mothers Day picnic on the island. After reading some previous logs we knew what was required so we sent the youngest of the 5 to retrieve. He did not look out of place and had a good laugh, although a muggle family did come over to see what the fun was about but soon wandered off. Signed log and sent him back to hide. TFTC

Out on a beautiful Mothers' Day to do a bit of caching. We had lunch in the nearby RSL first and then headed over to search for this one. However there were so many muggles around looking at the various war machines that we couldn't conduct a proper search.

Luke from Slow Puncture had the day off and invited me to head out to clear up some of our maps. I'm up for that!!

Luke picked me up bright and early and we set off on our journey.

I had been to look for this cache once before but there had been too many muggles about.

Today was different, it was a weekday AND it was wet and rainy... Perfect opportunity!

We narrowed down the location of GZ and I lay across the structure at GZ and contorted myself to all angles while trying to locate the cache.

Eventually I spotted it, that was the first of my problems.... The second was trying to determine HOW to get it out.

Luke found a rather long stick near GZ (thank you previous finder), I set about trying to keep dry, look upside down AND manoeuvre the cache from it's hide. Luke stood back, watching an expert at work I assume... Razz

I had to change positions and work from a different angle, and I was concentrating so hard on trying to retrieve the cache that I didn't realise my foot was slowly sinking into the big wet until it was too late.

After what seemed like forever, three muggles and a wet shoe, I finally got grumpy and wacked the container out of it's hiding spot and into reaching distance. Grrrrr

Maybe the difficulty level should be a touch higher?

Wednesday. Luke from Slow Puncture was out and about today with Angela from Team DNA. Our aim was to eliminate a whole bunch of green dots (and a couple of yellow ones) from our maps arounf the Donnybrook/Toorbul/Bribie area and surrounds.

Kerry and I had been past this previously, but there were always too many muggles about. Today was the day. Mercifully Angela was there as when we identified where GZ was she sprung into action. Actually, she lay down into action in a display of dexterity, somehow lying on the structure and bending/contorting so she could see under.

Having spotted the blighter, she then set about retreiving it, long stick required and put to use. It still took some minutes during which time she attained a wet shoe. Cache found and sign and returned.

Bloodred? Our suggestion would be that the difficulty rating could do with a bump!

This was the 12th of 18 caches we found on this trip.

Thanks [Blue]bloodredtigers[/Blue], for showing us this place.

I had read about the trouble people had with this one before arriving at GZ so was prepared for a mission. Used my phone camera as a way of seeing what was underneath without actually going under or getting wet Smile spotted the cache that was and then used a long stick to fish it out. Signed log, all is dry and in good condition, TFTC

Out for the day on Bribie. Barb had been talking to the CO about this one and the fact it may have gone missing. So with a spare container and log with us, pulled in to check this one.

While we spotted the cache which seems to still be in place, there was still too much stinky water to make the grab. Message sent to CO to say cache is in place, and so graciously allowed us to log a find.

Visiting the island on a hot morning, while house sitting at Ningi. Came over for a swim, and decided to include this cache for the day. Have been to the tank before, so knew where it was.

I seem to recall standing in the middle of the (reconstructed) Bridge on the river Kwai in Thailand as a train was bearing down on the bridge. Awesome photo but the noise was deafening as the driver leaned on the whistle. Just enough room in a service bay against the railing at the side of the bridgespan to squeeze into before the train hurtled past.

So! Lots of muggles wandering about but we zeroed in on the most likely spot and a decision was made (mostly by me) that Ruzzelz would get his hands dirty Smile

Nice location for a cache!

Out and about with Fangsoki, Gaz'n'Kab, Sweet_bee, Crew 153 in search of beaches, creatures and other interesting features.

There is this 1980's LEGO spaceman in the LEGO movie who is always wanting to build a spaceship and goes "Spaceship, spaceship, spaceship, spaceship, let's build a spaceship, spaceship, spaceship...." when he gets excited.

That's kind of what I sounded like as Fangsoki drove past this one..... "Tank, Tank, Tank, there was a Tank, a Tank, did you see the Tank?, Tank, Tank, we need to go back and check out the Tank."

On the way back up the road my pestering paid off and we stopped to check it out. The blokes studies the various parts of the tank and the girls wondered what exactly the facilitation was.

Thanks for the cache bloodredtigers.

Cheers!!

Sweet_bee, Gaz'n'Kab, Radnoski, Crew 153, and I had been up the beach in the 4WDs so we decided to grab a few caches while on the island.

I had been to the cache that was on the tank a few years ago. Of course I had to check if it was where I found it.. it wasn't Razz

However, we soon found the active cache safe and sound. We signed the log and re-hid it as found. Great to see this area again. TFTC bloodredtigers Smile

We had spent New Year's Eve watching the fireworks at Bribie and realised the traffic off the Island was going to be horrendous, so we decided to look for a few caches hoping the traffic would disperse by the time we had finished. The club was pretty busy tonight, but we had no difficulty in finding what we were after. Thank you for having placed the cache bloodredtigers.

T-Tech and I had a swim and fish and chips on the island this evening, and as we headed home we stopped by to grab this cache as it's my only non-smilie here Big Grin It was already dark so we had the torches out, and as we approached GZ I just groaned Razz These are often very tricky hides! But the GPSr knew better and we soon came across a more appropriate spot. A bit of a search and I soon had the cache in hand. TFTC, bloodredtigers.

Firstly a Favourite point for bringing us to such an interesting, informative & very well maintained general location.

Now, the cache! Parked roadside & being really clever said 'It will be there!'
Jumped from the Geo-beast & began striding towards my 'expected' GZ only to look at the trusty iPhone4 & be told 'WRONG!'. Course correction soon had us at the true GZ & the cache was soon in hand.

Care had to be taken to avoid detection by the balcony muggles across the road!

I love summer. the sun is up and around very early so it is time to get out of bed and go caching. There was plenty of traffic on the main road and a lot of walking or exercising muggles. Parked close and walked over to the area indicated by my GPSr. No one around. Walked towards the big interesting object close by and bent down and looked back and could see the container on the other side. Walked back over and soon had the log in hand. replaced as found. 30-Nov-14
I was driving by so I thought may as well stop and take a little look at this cache. I did get slightly distracted by the big metal thing nearby, but a photo or two and soon enough I was onto taking a look for the cache.

I headed to the logical place to take a look and had to do so in some strange contortions to stay dry. But soon enough I spotted the container. I also spotted a couple of wasps hanging around, no bites, but worth being careful and knowing where you are putting your hands.

Added my name to the log book and got replaced. Great timing as the moment I arrived back at the car, another family appeared to have a look at that big metal thing.

We were on a day trip to Bribie and stopped off at the club for lunch and I found that there was a cache located conveniently for me to duck out and find.

It took a bit of contortion to get to a position where I could see the cache.

They are a couple of great artifacts located nearby. It looks like they would still be able to be deployed if the island was under threat from the mainland forces.

Yes, three hours after publication I was able to put my name in the blank logbook! Wow, that was so lucky. I had to go to the airport to pick up visitors and upon arriving back home I check my email. Three caches published in my designated area. Too far away, I thought at first sight, as I couldn't very well leave my visitors to themselves upon their arrival, but... the third one was only 200 m from home. How lucky can you get? I'd like to see my visitors' faces when I tell them why I desperately needed to go for a 'wee little walk'!

Was'nt really prepared for this little exercise, wearing white shoes and all that, but we do what we have to do for a FTF!
