Even sloshing around the swamp in bare feet didn’t turn up the cache. The whole forest is awash with rutted tracks and water holes everywhere. I came to search for all 10 caches but gave up after searching for only 4, and only one of the four did I find.
Find Number 2112 found at 12:37. Today we had 4 finds and 0 DNFs. This was the 3rd find of the day.
I've been working towards my son's 50 forgotten years challenge and the other day I spotted 4 caches around Forest Road with 10 months or more unfound time. Today I set out to try to find all four.
I followed the road this time and soon arrived at GZ. This one took ages to find. There was nothing resembling the hint at GZ, so I used my imagination looking at things which might have been the hint item. None of them were. On the verge of giving up I extended my search radius and spotted a likely candidate 25m from GZ. A quick search located another badly rusted container. This one was missing the lid but the log sheet was in good condition. We replaced the container, sans lid, in the spot where we found it.
Thanks RiverRuners for the cache.

We did few cache in the Currambene State Forest on that morning. At GZ it was easy to find it, but the worth was the track to get to GZ. Some parts were muddy and gave us a lot of fun.

Found with Muppet95 on a trip to Currambene State Forest, Orient Point, Culburra and Greenwell Point for a day of caching. TFTC
Another day clearing out a chunk on the map. Today we hit the Currambene State Forest, Crookhaven, Orient Point, Culburra, Mayfield, Greenwell Point and Worrigee, before heading to Wollongong for dinner and the new caches near Lake Illawarra. It was unreal - 30 finds in 6.5hrs, with 0 DNF's - an awesome effort to clear a significant section of the map! Thanks to the Cache Owners for maintaining the caches that I visited today.
I managed to drive to within 350m of this one. I knew the coords were slightly out, so I extended my search (15m South) to a spot that matches the hint. As I was signing the log, I felt a leech on my ankle. Yikes! TFTC

We continued our cycle trip around from Musk. The going was a bit tough for us seniors, but we perservered. Stopped for lunch and sat on a nicely fallen tree. Then on to the cache. We needed the hint as our etrex was still insisting we were 30m out. I guess it was suffering on the bouncy trails. TFTC
Found it -- SL TNLN TFTH. Cache in good condition. Attending an International Geocaching Day event today and as I had time afterwards “Yay,” I figured I should return this afternoon to complete a find on the remaining four caches in this series that I had not found a few weeks ago due to a time constraint. We were about to find our 600th cache so what better time than now to knock two birds off their perches with the one stone. . . complete this series and complete 600. Finding this cache was easy enough but **the dirt road was a shocker in our 2WD**. Ruts and lakes everywhere; took some very careful manoeuvring to get through in some places. As I left for our final find I failed to take the track I came in on and I went on a different track. I pulled up a bit short to analyse the best path through the mud. That was a mistake, I began to get bogged when trying to move. Got out of the car and moved some of the dry dirt and bark under the wheels to get some traction. Yippee that worked, but then I found myself about to get into some more trouble. A bit of quick thinking and action kept the car in motion --- phew close call. Arrived at GZ signed log and moved onto our next cache find. The bush undergrowth is very thick. The fallen tree limbs are easy to stumble on if you’re not careful. Glad to get this series done before summer; I don't need to worry about being snuck up on by a slitherer. Thanks for the cache hide.
I found this cache as a joint part of “Team” Throsbyonchurch and in which name the log book was signed. I now have my own account as I’m old enough to cache myself, so I am claiming a fair share of my earlier finds. As I had no caching name at the time there's no log in the book for me but I’m claiming the find under team ToC. Thank you for the hide.
Before heading around to Husskisson for diving on Jervis bay I decided to get one of the forest caches. The last bit to this one was a bit wet and in the end I found it 20m from the listed co-ordinates and I checked a lot of clues before getting the right one.
Thanks.

This one took us a long time to find as we just could not find any stumps around GZ. We eventually widened our search area and we found it way, way down there. I think the co-ords need to be re-checked.
Thanks RiverRuners.

Day 2 at Kangaroo Valley
This morning we headed back into town to find the local caches.
A micro in the bush, The DT ratings should be higher.

We're on the third day of our stay. It's going to be really hot today. The GeoSchnauzers and I are loaded for geocaches. Car, GPSr and sundry kit, ice water, and a sense of fun and adventure. It's going to be a park and grab day today, at least until the sea breeze kicks in.
We're picking up a couple on the way up to Jervis Bay, then the CSF series, then Callala Beach.
Thanks, RiverRuners. I decided to walk to this one - the tyres I have on came with the car, and are hopeless in mud. The dogs have to come with me. Unwilling. Lucky I've got dog strings ...

We took a bit of a walk for this one as we met mud and lots of slidey things! Co-ords were a bit off, but clue was great in helping, thanks. Log was also a bit wet.
Ironbarks 4WD came in very handy today.
I wouldn't have attempted this in a 2WD after the rain.
Thanks for the cache RiverRunners.

Found on a trip to Nowra and surrounds with Steeba and The Rats. When The Rats suggested a day trip to the area, none of us could say no, there are quite a few caches that have popped up around here of late. We had a great day driving around collecting some fantastic caches.
Another find whilst making our way through this series.
Cheers

I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate 15 years caching than with a few friends enjoying the game I love. Today I headed south with steeba and Hoojar as we endeavoured to find some caches in the Nowra district.
We had a lot of fun in this area except for the masses of mosquitos that seemed to try and carry us away at each location.
Thanks

Having been altogether too long since I last found a cache, and finally with some free time and no other plans, I managed to entice the teenage team members into the Urban Assault Vehicle, and we headed off to the Forest. With the recent rain and some local knowledge, I knew we would have a little fun while on the hunt. This was a quick find after a bit of mud plugging through some sticky holes. Thanks RiverRuners for the cache

Found it - coordinate a bit out due to tree coverage - leaches around on the wet day also TFTC
The coordinate for this one are 15m out. That, plus the fact this whole area was underwater, made this one a real challenge!
I’m not sure what made me decide to come in here today… I think I was bored of all the urban trash, and decided on an adventure in the bush! Well, an adventure I got alright! After all that rain last night, and recently – this whole place was a quagmire! My poor little SUV didn’t know what hit it! No chunky tires, and more mud than you could poke a stick at meant that I was going sideways more often than forwardways! Even the slightest incline was very dramatic! On many occasions it was just too dire, and I had to try to find another way! I got totally lost in that place! Oh, and the trail bike riders screaming about like lunatics did not help! But – in the end, I managed to get all but one of them! (By that stage my nerves were shot, and I just wanted out of there)! – You should have heard my shout of glee once I found bitumen again! Now I just need to remove 200+ kg of mud from the car! Thanks for the adventure RR - Currambene State Forest caches will not be forgotten quickly – not like the urban ones I found this morning, that I have already forgotten!

This was fun! Drove all the way to GZ but it was very muddy after the recent storms. You definitely need a good 4wd to get all the way here at the moment.

#5 - Nav saw it first and Brave grabbed it first. Smelling salts for driver. SL TFTC RiverRuners
this was definitely my bugbear today, but got it in the end.
i had great plans of doing this one first, then doing the other 4 i hadn't already managed to do last week.
first i found a little track that looked like it was going the right way, but after moving some small logs and branches out of the way to be able to bounce my way down the track, i eventually ran out of track about 130m away. trudged through to the spot, saw the road i should have driven in on, looked all around, read the hint, tried again. trudged back to the car. went and found the other caches and tried to come back on what i thought was the right road, stopped about 200m short and decided not to tackle the mud puddles, but drive around the other way, eventually got there, re-read the hint and spotted it straight away. my eyes must be painted on, i didn't see that before.... thanks for the fun afternoon

After replanning a few times I think I was back on track to do all caches in a "loop". Sofar the coords were all good and I had no issues finding the caches. Some challenging tracks here and there, but all good.

Found on the way out, after about 3 hours caching. Thanks for a great series RiverRuners!
Cycled to most of the series with family. Fun finds, great bush sounds and smells, challenging, tracks (for those not so fit) and persistent mozzies that ignored all protection.
Even found another cachers!! Not surprising as it was a great collection of caches that made us discover a little more of our backyard.
This coordinates increased the challenge if this find. Fav points
Thanks RiverRuner

Seen these pop up and this was the first time we were able to grab these, lucky we were able to do the lot with the geo vehicle, as I had recently had knee surgery, the car is not 4WD but has good clearance which came in very handy.
There were couple of hairy moments but Mr J had full confidence of the cars ability. ( I heard it all before, now I have great hairs)
We seen lots of Butterflies, picked up a red tailed black Cockatoo tail feather, mozzies and sounds of many birds, wallabies jumping around, a regular safari. What an eventful afternoon. TFTC

For some reason or other I thought the hint was "log" but notice now my error. Parked up above as looking at the track would have trouble turning around - next time.
This was the trickiest one of the day. I parked about 150M distance away because the track became a bit narrow and muddy for the GeoForester and it was probably quicker to just walk that distance. GPS took a long time to settle and I couldn't see anything matching the hint. Back and forth and then eventually I spotted a likely candidate and was happy to make the find and get away from the mozzies. #6 for the day and another 2TF - TFTC!
