Today the geocaching plan for Taurus Six and I was to do a run out to the Wheatbelt, firstly to do some maintenance on some of our own cache hides and secondly collect as many as the straggler caches that we have not yet found and some of the new caches since we were last out this way , which is about a year ago. It was cold and drizzly when we left Bunbury and it was like that until nearing Williams. Of course we had to stop at the wonderful Williams Wool Shed for brunch before heading to Narrogin . Unfortunately we broke our tree fishing tool so that limited a few of the cache attempts ,however we did a bit of a circuit before heading down to Wagin and Dumbelyung and then stopping the evening in Katanning ready for more geocaching tomorrow. All in all it was a fabulous drive , with lots of interesting exploring and of course geocaches along the way. The bonus was the wildflowers that are starting to bloom adding to the adventure. This was our thirteenth cache find of the day along these beautiful back roads of the Wheatbelt. This is our first visit to Dumbleyung and we are glad we came . Did not know about the lake and the history , or the water speed record. All fascinating and to top it of a nice quick geocache find. Thanks for the cache find.
Literally a pointless road haha. There was a cat sheltering from the rain next to the cache which made me jump. Tftc
Looking around Dumbleyung and the lake that made Donald Campbell famous. Thought this would be a long search but MrG was straight on to it. TFTC Haggles.
WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 32 - Wickepin to Wagin via Dumbleyung. After a great day around Wickepin, it was time to move on. Once again I crossed a few counties and this took me on some less traveled roads, but today they were all sealed. I enjoyed a look around Dumbleyung and did not realise this was where the Water speed record was set all those years ago. It was great to get out to the lake and see the place. Once I arrived in Wagin, the weather closed in and although I managed to walk into town for dinner, it has been drizzling all evening. This was a very remote spot to look at the lake from. There was a fallen tree half blocking the road, but I made it, and there was enough space to turn around. I looked in the wrong spot for the cache at first and got a splinter under a finger nail, and it still hurts now, a few days later. Thanks for the cache Haggles47157.9 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & July 2019 Children of Atargatis A#406**Albida**
We headed down to Pingrup to spend some time on the farm, of course we had to collect some caches along the way. What an interesting spot this was, we honestly had no idea. Thanks for brining us here, a favorite point for the lessons we learnt TFTC

GOTCHA Just had a night parked up behind the Dumbleyung pub, heading for Albany today.TFTC
Back out in the Wheatbelt for an extended long weekend, attending the WA Goes Big 10th anniversary event in Narrogin. Hoovered up plenty of new caches in both Narrogin and surrounding districts, and had a great time with fellow cachers. Thanks to West Oz Geocaching for organising another ripper event! Caches signed through the weekend as ‘CC’ (meaning Cockburn Crew) to save space on logbooks. Cheers Haggles!

Haggles - Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment. I love travelling and visiting some places that I would only visit due to this game.
Spent half hour trying to find. Finally found it 18 metres away. Please correct co-ordinates to those in pic.
Was found in open view on track full of water. Moved to fallen branch near where found. Plz put back in original place if you know where that was
Some trees have been dumped at the end of the road but the cache is still accessible
Nice cache out in the wheatbelt, cheers for placing it and for those that replaced it!
Heading down to Kulin for the IGD event and had a plan to take the scenic route picking up some Wheatbelt Museum labs along the way plus a few others here and there.
Had a DNF here a few years ago due to the road being closed. Made the quick find of Morgo's replacement.
Haggles I found your cache at 12:56pm, this was the 7th of 13 finds for me today and brings my total find count to 6973. The cache was in good order and I replaced it as found.

I spent the day travelling the Central Southern region: exploring, finding caches and having fun.
The road in has been cleaned with trees pushed over. At GZ, there was dirt piled up, a few trees over and the GZ was snapped. The cache is presumed to be buried. I added a new container at the base of the snapped tree (lake side).
Morgo the geo found Dumbleyung Lake - little road to no where.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache, Haggles.

After the recent storms, it's not surprising that there are a lot of trees down in the district. The GPS suggested we were at GZ, but unfortunately there were at least 2 felled trees where the cache should have been. Will have to call this one a miss, unfortunately.
The Last time I called here the weather won the day and I went home cold and wet.
Out and about today and the weather was much more inviting so came back to finish what I had started. Found the illusive Cache.
Sad about the change in scenery very dry.

A quick park and grab in the rain. TFTH!
Thought it was time for a road trip with I C Nothing and Meme28, so we packed the car and headed off to Kulin and the surrounding areas.

On a weeks holiday driving around our beautiful state of WA, visiting places we've been to before but being able to spend more time this time around. Stayed at Kukerin the last two nights and Wagin tonight grabbing caches along the way

Had to head out here for work so finding some caches as I go. Grabbed this one before getting into Dumbleyung. TFTC
Using Narrogin as a base, my young geocaching buddy and I spent a lovely few days exploring the wheatbelt and all the beautiful friendly little towns along the way. We drove into the little road and made a reasonably quick find of the cache, after which we went back down the road and went up to the lookout along the scenic drive. Amazing views of Dumbleyung Lake.
Thanks Haggles for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Staying in Narrogin for a few days with Gma allinaday. We had a lot of fun exploring the area and all the other little towns along the way. We found some nice historical sites where I learnt a bit about how life was a hundred odd years ago. We explored old buildings and enjoyed some long walks around lakes where I learnt a lot about salinity and what is being done to help reduce the salt on the land so more trees don't die. Thank you to all the cache owners for putting caches out for us to find.
Out on a run with fellow caches,
The cold, wet weather got the better of us so we called it a day and headed home, we'll give another try next time I'm by

Nearly a good view of the lake. Spotted the cache pretty quickly. Thanks for bringing us here
We could not find it and we did not want to stay out any longer because of mozzie. There has also been some construction.
On a work road trip to Ongerup and planned some extra time to pick up a few caches in LGAs we have not logged.
A quick find here, though used my Geo-sense rather than the GPS as it was playing up.
Thanks for the cache Haggles - all in good condition

*late log* Road trip down south. Finding a few caches along the way and seeing a few tiny communities previously never been to. Found after short search. tftc sl tnln
We have had a lovely weekend in Albany for PP1's birthday treat....I even took him past some golf courses! On the way home now TFTC
Today was another day of taking a meander through wheat growing territory with ilook4geo. We are aiming to pick up various LGAs where we have not cached before and are just selecting two or three to represent each different LGA.
This cache subject was of particular interest. By visiting the lake where Donald Campbell's water speed record was created, it means we have now been to both lakes where he achieved his records in 1964. Thanks go to Haggles for showing us this lake, which has history attached.

Out doing some more caching today in the wheat belt area of WA with goingplaces2. We went to some interesting places and enjoyed the caches we found. TFTC.
Great to be able to log a find here today now that the road to no where is reopened! Saw this amazing python on the way in.
Travelling since January from Geelong we went up the middle to Darwin and crossed the border to WA at the start of May.
We have driven the gibb river rd and been up to cape leveque.
As we travel south we have zig zagged from coast to inland and seen so many amazing things and done some truely adventurous activities
We have set up camp and will now cache the area as we discover new things, places to visit and sights to see
Thanks to caching we see more than a muggle does

Travelling Australia since March 2014 now we are making our way west for a visit with family.
Stayiing in Dumbleyung for a few days, today we headed out for a drive in the countryside using Geocaching as a guide. Around lunchtime we found ourselves in Katanning!
Some interesting hides and some very busy urban hides which we havent tackled for a while. Yet a fun day out and about.
TFTC and sharing this part of WA with us Haggles

Thanks for taking us to this pretty spot. The lake has a lot more water in it than last time I was out this way. The cache took a bit of a search to find as the grass had made a lot of hiding spots.
We have come on a little road trip to add some LGAs. This was our first find. Fascinated by the huge lake which was full of water. TFTC
Road is open now so no trouble locating the container. However the log sheet was mouldy so replaced with new log and double bagged the lot. Thanks Haggles
Unfortunately the road in is closed, and for some time after reading the previous logs. Not fun!
