Dropped eldest novo off at a safe drivers course in the CBD this morning. Youngest geokid and I then took off for three hours to climb some trees. After our DNF here over a year ago, I suspected it might have been missing so thought I might just watch and see for a while. Sure enough. Back here today with some help and we now have our siggie on the brand new log sheet. Geokid climbed a fair way up just to get the views but we rehid it where we found it. TFTC and puzzle, Marcus Vitruvius.#2047
After my previous visit I've confirmed with a few past finders that this one appears to be gone. I think this mystery cache is worth saving. Thanks for the fun puzzle(s), MV!The CO, currently elsewhere, has given me leave to replace the container at GZ.I also had another look around in the undergrowth today, but couldn't find it there either. So... from today there's a new container, and new log at GZ (I'll send you some photos, MV)Same hint applies!
Nice puzzle Thought Id try my hand at GZ, but I too came away empty handed. Climbed and looked from several (!!) vantage points. From earlier descriptions, shouldnt be too hard to spot. Did PAF later which confirmed my search should have turned this up.
Eventually, found a way in and got to GZ, but three pairs of eyes couldnt find it. Pity
Spent a day up around the Newcastle suburbs today. A beautiful sunny day to be caching. Today was a particularly frustrating day though with five DNFs to report as the GPS was refusing to settle at most caches. I think, too, that I am a bit late to the party with many of these being on my lists for years and everyone's pretty much found them.
This one case in point - I've been looking at this puzzle for years and it was only a couple of months ago that I noticed a big clue (not in the usual spot I might add) that had me some coords soon after. Bah! But I think it still took me longer to find my way to GZ than solve the puzz as I drove around for ages (and on a Saturday around lunchtime) before I could work out where to set down. Then, once at GZ, the GPS just wouldn't settle. There were about three trees it could be and I climbed all of them but couldn't spot anything. After about half an hour it was time to pull stumps. Bugger.

I read a blog to say start with easier puzzles and build up. So that’s what I have been doing. Then I noticed something about this cache. My wife then took over and found the hidden coordinates.
When we found the actual cache we were both very pleased although the track is very muddy. After maki g the climb to get the cache I was even more excited. The trip down was also rather interesting.
TFTC a huge favourite point from us.

Last one for today, I solved this a while back and came to make the find today. After finding a way through the long grass I got to GZ and spotted the cache pretty quickly. Then a quick climb up the tree and signed the log. TFTC!
Nana nel has been working through puzzles from various lists and fell across this one.
She found the way in by herself and solved stage one and we worked through stages two and three together to arrive at a logical set of coordinates.
Corrected the coordinates on the cache page and all that remains is to visit the location and log a find one day.
A brilliant puzzle well balanced in all aspects.
My Avatar will be explained when I write my found log.

Solved this puzzle finally, and I couldn't help but go ahead and make the find.
Parked not too far away, and made the way to GZ where an easy climb and sign of the log was made.

I'm all out of Fave Points atm, when I have more I'll give you one

On our way back from doing the Bushrangers Cave cache and we made a little detour to get this cache that we have been wanting to do for a long time. Could have driven right down to GZ as it turned out! Started looking around and after a few moments the nicely secure cache was spotted. A quick scramble up and the Avatar is done [^]
Thanks Marcus Vitruvius.

On Friday I departed Brisbane on my way south to spend Christmas with some relatives in Vincentia, NSW. I had allowed myself a few days of relaxed travel, which gave me plenty of time to do some caching along the way. Having camped in my car on the outskirts of Newcastle overnight, I was up at daybreak to continue the journey south.
Noting that my own avatar had been utilised in the image I set about solving the puzzle , which I eventually managed to sort out a solution. Identifying a suitable parking spot, I parked up and headed off for a short walk to GZ. It took me a few moments to work out exactly where I needed to be searching but I soon spotted the hide and made my way there to retrieve the cache and stamp my name in the logbook. TFTC

Not sure why i have never logged this but was done with aussieBen on 14 Jun 19 never late then ever, from memory we mad quite a meal of this one going the wrong way but after the find just walking out thanks for the cache fav from me
Stopped to grab this puzzle after grabbing the new cache nearby. Had this one solved since not longer after it was first published, but hadn't been able to stop until now. After following the easy way in and soon realised we would either have to walk around or through the mud. We took our chances with the mud and made it to gz soon enough. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache.

I didn't find the way into this immediately and spent quite some time going cross-eyed before it hit me. The next stage was a piece of work but fun in the end. This was the coolest cache (in terms of heat stress) we'd found so far today on our tortuous mystery tour. We got the approach right and braved the last few metres of snake-hiding long grass. Once I'd spotted the cache, PPE literally leapt into action.
Thanks Marcus Vitruvius.

Find No: 6689. With 25 days left for the 2nd completion of my 366 day matrix, I needed a cache today so I loaded up the telescopic ladder and rope, checked Google Earth and set out knowing exactly where I was going to take the mighty Prado. Whoops, the council was mowing so I had to go around the block and park elsewhere.
I decided to walk in and check it out and come back later if necessary after the mowing was over but upon reaching GZ I realised this was possible unaided.
Probably shouldn’t be climbing trees at 74 in the middle of nowhere with nobody knowing my whereabouts and with several stitches in my arm from an excision yesterday but it was a relatively easy climb, thanks for the cache Marcus Vitruvius!!
As for my ‘Avatar’, (Pathtag photo herewith) my nickname from childhood was ‘Grub’, my middle name is Frederick, so I became known as ‘Grub Fred’, my mum even used to call me that sometimes!

Found today with Dad & Oliver after going to BCF. Very sneaky puzzle ,it took a while to solve this but after a few months we got the puzzle and left the cache for a while.
Our avatar was from our visit to the Dog On The Tucker box in Gundagai and our 1000th cache way back in December, 2016! ...And the dog sat on the tucker box five miles from gundagai

After a few futile attempts at solving the 'puzzle' I had to get a hint from the CO.... it didn't take too much before the numbers appeared and we had a solution. Several months later we've made it to GZ. We made a direct approach to GZ initially, but soon worked out it would be faster to walk around than to clean the kids shoes afterwards, so around we went.
Excellent coords had us at the cache quickly, but we still had a few metres to go. Samuel was able to get to it but not open it, so I did the honours and rehid as found. Thanks for a fun puzzle and good hide MV.....
Our avatar is the Dog on the Tuckerbox. We managed to make the virtual cache at Gundagai our 1000th find on a very cool road trip a couple of years ago.

Had solved this one back in January, but unfortunately had a couple of numbers incorrect. Decided to have another look at it but I had to restart the puzzle because I had lost my previous workings and findings. After resolving, had to work out how to get to gz and where the best place to park was, which was simpler and better than I expected. Nice area to walk through. Enjoyed getting the cache very much as I love tree-climbing caches. TFTC!!! Need more tree-climbing in the Newy area #1464
I didn't have an avatar until last week because I'm super lazy. Now it's just a picture of me

Found today after being out of town for a week. Bit tricky to get to GZ as the GPS map does not show all this water. My avatar is a picture of my self Seperated into colour show my many sides.

My Avatar is a teddy bear wearing a Jedi costume as I am a bad Jedi not evil just bad at being a Jedi I thought it was appropriate I mean how good a Jedi could a teddy be.

The OZ Geomuster is over.
So much fun and games and catching up with friends and meeting new friends.
I have now officially left the showgrounds and am heading home.
But of course there has to be a detour to go find a cache a cache or two ... or three ... or ... Good thing I have 5 days to travel home.
I found a close place to park ... but have just not master the 'walk on water' class at Brother training. So the long way around I walked.
A quick find once at GZ though.
Thanks for the cache.
PS: to the CO. Lots of caches up my way to find. Always a place to stay when you get there.

Seventh and final find of Day 8 of my Road Trip before my middle son’s eighteenth birthday.
After a failure to prepare last year, I came back and did what was required to sign the logbook!?!
My avatar and name was to preserve my anonymity in the early days. Originally I was just Canary and then the boys wanted to be part of my Team, just like their hero Team Webguy!?! The Canary is from my favourite soccer team, Norwich City who are known as the Canaries, currently playing in the English second tier. My avatar is their logo. I started following them about thirty five years ago as they wore green and gold and had a sponsor of Fosters. What more could an Australian sports fan want?!?

Had solved this puzzle a couple of weeks ago, today nellc and I decided to go and find it. After a nice walk in, at gz the cache was soon spotted and the gnome decided to get it as the koala had been up a tree yesterday
When I was young I was given a book of poetry titled Ken the Killer Koala so I thought it was an appropriate Avatar as that is the reason for the koala in my caching name.
Thanks Marcus Vitruvius for this cache and a FP for it

I spent a few hours solving this one a couple of weeks ago with Steam Koala. Today we decided to go for the find and smiley face. The cache was quickly spotted and the gnome made the retrieval (in thongs).
I've often been called the Garden Gnome as I am short in stature. My avatar is a gnome with an ammo can. One of these days I will make it into pathtags.

The day this was published I was on a road trip with the CO for an all night mission for FTF glory and a heap of other random caches. This of course meant I missed the chance to solve it then, so it seemed to drop off my radar until this week.
Every now and then a clue hidden in plain sight can make even an experienced puzzle solver feel like a complete muppet and this one got me. How I missed it the first few times I still don’t know! Ha ha suffice to say I combed every ‘other’ pixel of the entire page looking for something that wasn’t there. Oops
Once ‘in’ I spent some time with the kids putting all the pieces together and today I was on the road for work and literally had to drive past GZ. Not to be outdone by the Geolux, I got the Camry to a similar distance - not recommended after rain though as I suspect it gets a bit boggy.
I figure if I can climb it, there’s not many out there with an excuse! Get up there Canary!
I love the concept of this, and hope that over time each person contributes an ‘origin story’ such that the cache page will make for a really great read.
My avatar is an image I found on the ‘net early on in my caching days which matched my cricket nickname (The Garbageman) which I earned one afternoon when watching many of my team get dismissed by ‘rubbish’ bowling, and I was determined to ‘take out the trash’. I do remember smacking my first ball faced that afternoon into the bushes next to the oval (sadly it bounced once before it got there), but I think I was caught not too long afterwards. The idea of the Garbageman stuck though and I like to think it suits me - I don’t mind a bit of CITO in the bush to do something to contribute to the natural world from which I derive so much joy. My avatar is also a ‘globe’ and reflects my love of travel.
FP for a fun puzzle and great concept for a cache. No doubt I’ll come back and read the logs of others in future. TNLN TFTC

I'd seen this published the other day but only managed a quick glance at it and nothing jumped out. Looked at it at lunch today and found something interesting. Managed to puzzle my way through it and determine some good looking coords. Decided to take a look on the way home. Once at gz i found the correct thing and spotted the cache. Signed the log but managed to drop the pen so spent some time looking for it. Once found i put it all back together.
My avatar was a sign i found in NZ which was apparently the name of a business. Not sure why i choose it aside from it being funny. I have had thoughts of changing it but i have never decided on what i would change it to. TFTC

I spent some time figuring out this puzzle, and because I wasn't working in the morning, Mrs C and I went for a drive. We made our way to GZ and after a short search ,the cache was found and the log was signed. An FTF jig was performed, both due to getting the number one position and to ensure I wasn't covered in any creepy crawlies.
Our avatar is our main mode of caching transport, with GEOLUX on the number plate it seems fair to use it all the time, especially on this one as we were able to get to within 20m of GZ. If we were in the falcon, it wouldn't have left the bitumen.
TFTC MV for the great puzzle and the late night adventure.
