Another DNF on this one - looks like it hasn't been fixed since a Maintenance needed was put on it in February 2017. Perhaps its time it was archived to allow someone else to place a cache here. Lovely scenery and a family having great fun in the water. Sad

Looked in all the obvious places but maybe it had ended up drowning maybe the CO could check and add a log

Searched for half and hour but didn't turn it up, found lots of wet rubbish! Perhaps the rain may have moved it a little. Will return for another look soon

# 957 @ 10:29 am
We stayed in Nanango last night after attending the awesome Nanango event. As we head home *SuzySquirrel*, spinna76 and I (and now Liz and Bruce) are collecting some smilies along the way.
This is an absolutely beautiful spot.
Thanks for adding to a fantastic weekend.

A great day of caching with beautiful weather and glorious scenery. We managed to meet up with the splendid Sss - Stacevel, *SuzySquirrel* and Spinna76 and our joint caching activity added to our pleasure of the day. We got a bit sidetracked at a winery near the dam when an very necessary stop was made "to spend a penny" and resulted in wine tasting and leaving with a box under our arm. Nice to be able to make these sorts of stops as well as geocaching. We found this cache after a short search - nice one. Thanks to Purple_Ninja_00 for its placement and adding to our enjoyment of this location.

Out cheacking caches before the event. Cache was a little bit wet inside and log was not in very good condition. Replaced log.

Out and about by myself while Mum visits a friend in town for a couple of hours. Big Grin
So I headed north of town as there is a good chance I will be back for the December event. Cool
Got to leave somewhere to cache. Razz
A quick find here.
Thanks for the cache.

It was worth coming down this gravel road with its cattle grids, potholes and corrugation. This is a small but peaceful spot - not much an area for parking though. We had to park over the opposite side to the cache, as there were two muggle cars on the cache side of the creek. Well, the cache is still here, Purple_Ninja_00, having survived the waters this year. Not sure thought what a "little small smash lunch box" is but the cache was found at 3.15pm on 30th August 2015. TFTC.

Hi there Purple_Ninja_00. We found your cache "By the Water Side" at 1:23:00 PM today. This cache makes our find count 11294.
[Blue]
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip around the area today. We started the day off by nominating a cache some distance away from our caravan park and then took a route mainly determined by the next closest cache according to our GPS.

we thought that this was a lovely peaceful place to eat our lunch.
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
Cache Condition: The container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

We headed in to make the finds on the 3 caches and this was the first.
Geopartner parked near the water and I headed to GZ.
I soon made the find and signed the log and rehid the cache.
This is a lovely area for the locals with a swing rope into the river.
There is a bit of weed on the water at the moment but the eastern swamp hen seems to like swimming in it.
Thanks for bringing us here
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks Purple Ninja Cool All good with this cache

Geo-hubby headed out to Nanango / Kingaroy area for a two day caching run,
with our good friend Konie.
A great time was had, finding a good variety of hides and caches.
Many thanks to all the CO's for the effort you have put into your caches,
for us and others to find.

Out and about with The Drovers for a few days caching in the Nanago and Kingaroy areas. We managed to find a variety of caches with lots of different containers and this was one of them.

Once the log was signed all was returned as found.

Thanks to all the CO's for the effort put into your caches and maintaining them..

Having attended the Nanango Markets today, it was time to turn a few green boxes into SmileSmile
The target today was Lock Lane, some of the Wide Bay Hwy, Mondure Crossing Rd, the ones out at Elgin Vale, and continue on to the Wide Bay Hwy, then home.
All told 21 Smile's, not too bad for a Saturday afternoon.
All Cool with the cache. Not sure that the hide is very secure for the next time Barker Creek spits the dummy.
On arrival met a young bloke with 4 boys fishing on the other side of the crossing, don't think they were catching much except sunken logs.

Spending a few days up in the Kingaroy and Nanango districts and places closeby from my place in Brisbane. Due to the number of caches found, I have decided to do a generic log. To all the CO's, a big thank you for bringing us to your area and the many varied caches we found. Thank you for bringing us along the country road. TFTC

Having another annual caching trip to Nanango and Kingaroy with Richmond Lad. Last year we thought we had found most of them but some wonderful COs keep putting out more to entice us back to this lovely region of Queensland. We have driven along quiet , gum tree lined country roads, spotted some peaceful waterways and are becoming experts at stumps!!! Thank you to all the COs who have caches in this area - you are all doing a wonderful job creating, placing and maintaining your hides.
Lovely spot - a few muggles fishing but far enough away to not bother with us.

08-Jun-15
Looks like some low lives have been camping here due to the amount of rubbish in the area. Gave up looking due extra large thistles. Would be a lovely area when cleaned up.

07-Jun-15
Lovely spot for a relaxing lunch or an overnight stay. TFTC.

Someone camping and a family sitting on the bank of the creek right near the road so unfortunately had to leave this one today.

Todays trip was around the rural country side. All the caches we found had great co-ords & hints. The regular & large containers were packed full of swaps. We loved our Sunday drive.
There were a few people enjoying the waterhole here today. Looked a great spot.
Thanks for placing this cache Purple_Ninja_00

Not sure how much it flooded here after TC Marcia the other day.
The cache is still in good order.

I nearly gave up, but figured I prob wouldn't come back for one cache, and had grabbed all others near here. So I perservered and found it.

TFTC....survived the flood.

Find #1637

We decided it was time to visit our 'Country Cousins' to see what was on offer away from the burbs!
Our main target area was Nanango but a few stray caches here & there all add to the growing smilie map. Smile

More to follow ...

Another big hunt here. A completely useless clue. Even the previous logs managed to mislead us. We searched near the creek, but found nothing so we went back to a more obvious spot.

The cache was well covered, but IolantheK managed to locate it. It seems quite high up to me in relation to the creek. It will need a lot of water to be flowing to get to GZ.

Road tripping with teamdfl again Big Grin It's Brisbane to Nanango or bust today! (With a little side jaunt to Kingaroy as well Wink) 2.5 hours driving each way, with 48 finds for me, including 2 Letterboxes, 2 multis and 2 puzzles. A grand day out indeed [^]

Definitely heading homewards now, but there's plenty of caches along the way! This one was hard won Twisted The clue really didn't help at all, and previous logs had us searching way too close too the water. I wandered over to a more common hiding spot, but had to dig a bit before I made the find. TFTC, Purple_Ninja_00.

I expected this cache to be in a different location but the GPSr sent us in the right direction. Almost gave up on this as I don't like to be too close to the waters edge. The cache was really well hidden and it was finally in hand. Located with misschief18 and Bentley TB
If not for the rubbish that people tend to leave around, this location is a very pretty spot for a picnic

Found with taurus1955 and BentleyTB. Not an easy one to locate. Previous finder hid it very well. Two muggles came along while we were there, but they were more interested in taking water samples than what we were doing. TFTC

A rather snap decision to get out of the city due to the G20 summit so we headed up here for a long weekend of caching fun.
With Geohound panting hard due to the hot conditions a possible dip in a waterhole sounded like a great idea.
Hmmmm maybe not a good idea as the water is a little stagnate & you would be covered in all that duck weed.
Too late, found a spot to get in the water & had a quick dip.
Oh dear smelly dog in the car.
Well a quick walk across the road & cache found safe n sound.

Just looking at the cache page and noticed these. A bit closer to home than the new Murgon ones so I set out to find two anyway. Found at 1205 on a very warm day. Parked off road safely and wandered over towards GZ. The ducks on the water did not even move. This is another small systema. If anyone uses these for a lunch box then they must be on a very strict diet. TFTC Purple_Ninya_00
