It was time for the traditional post Christmas road trip. The stockings were emptied of presents, feasts were devoured and great times were had with family and friends. Now to get away!Day 15:After another swim in the mineral pools it was off further south towards Wagga Wagga, making a few stops along the way.Our GPS had us searching other obvious objects and therefore this wasnt the quick park and grab we expected. Got there in the end. Thanks Dorik for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy. ----------------------------------------------------------The Ballarat GeoTour ends on 4 March 2024! Be sure to find all the caches and earn the souvenir before the tour is archived. There are plenty to choose from including all of the previous nominees and winners of the Victorian Cache of the Year Awards.
A loose plan was hatched for a 3-week road trip with RoamingHowie to explore locations in Country NSW wed not been to before and of course, find a cache here and there.DAY FIFTEEN: Crossing back through Temora, this time towards Cootamundra, then Bethungra, Junee and Wagga Wagga. A quick stop while passing by. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, Dorik ~ ~
On the way home from Mildura to Wollongong. We took the scenic route to ensure we had plenty of caching opportunities.Cheers
Gps had us on 10m. Not well guarded. BOT. Thanks for the stop as we cycled Eurobin to Sydney.
Thanks heaps for the cache, All looks to be in good working condition with this one. Log signed and returned as found.
I was travelling between Wagga and Wollongong today and detoured to collect this particular cache which is the closest to my centroid and I needed to log it for a challenge cache. It was a bit tricky to park but a quick find
Day one on our short trip north to find some better weather. BettyBoo3747, the geodoggies and I are heading to Cowra and back. Tonight we have made it as far as Cootamundra.
Only just fitted into the off road parking, should have brought the bike like in the attributes
Thanks, Robmc.

#20931. Day 1 of a short holiday over the border in NSW with Robmc and the geodoggies. We had a pleasant journey gathering caches along the way before arriving in Cootamundra for the niight. Enjoyed the sunshine and the scenery once the fog lifted.
Trying to park a Ranger here was very tricky - certainly not easy off-road parking as indicated. Flew out of the car, quickly found and signed the log and we hit the road Jack out of there.
Thanks Dorik

TFTC. A nice easy one for the kidlets to find. We forgot a pen to sign the cache today.
Parking it’s not all that easy if you are heading southwards. There is a small gap in the guard rail big enough for a couple of cars if you are heading northwards. A couple of places to search but really in a fairly obvious spot. TFTC
Not where we expected it to be after finding the safe parking spot between the armaguard. Replaced the soggy log book and put it in a zip lock bag along with some foreign coins. SL at 2.28pm #8805 TFTC Dorik. On our way from Wagga to Cootamundra on this Queen’s birthday long weekend.
I'm tipping the armco railing is a newer addition to this cache.
Nonetheless we managed to park safely out of harms way.
A nice quick find whilst exploring the area after a mate's funeral.
Nice to wind down and relax after quite a harrowing weekend.
Thanks Dorik.

Day 3 of our southern trip. Heading to Wangaratta today, caching a bit as we go.
We were not originally intending to come this way: the flooded Newell Highway was the cause. Glad we did, as it enabled us to see something differently.
Log signed and cache replaced as found at 2:39 PM on January 12, 2022. TFTC, Dorik

Oh man did I make a mess of this one ! I was distracted by the parking space on the other side of the road and the name Billabong led me to the water hole. From there it became a terrain 3.5 until the resolution settled and I knew I was on the wrong side, Kw to get over the barbed wire ! Back to the Billabong !
Cache was fully exposed but I guess pretty safe. I fixed its camo up a little.
Thanks Dorik - that was a days exercise - hey my new boots worked a treat crossing the Billabong.

Thanks Dorik for the cache found with Muggle Hubby on our way through to Dayboro.
Had to remove a guardian beetle and quite a few earwigs from the cache, before our names could be added to the log.

A quick find and sign as we drive across to Cootamundra on the way back to home base in the capital. TFTC
Staying in Junee with Shufflehop we did a trip to Bethungra and found this cache on the way Cootamundra
About as far as I got today before heading home. Went to look and found the cache out in the open in the grass. Put it back in a more likely spot.
Thanks,
Thanks,
A little damp in it cache so may need replacement if it gets wet again, easy find when the compass works.
Water has got to it a little bit, lovely to see stuff left with it Thank you so much everyone for the placements! ️
Found it it was all over the road put it back together and placed it next to a tree will need to be replaced as logbook has been wet
As a member of TeamOZCAT logged in this cache, I am now logging as an individual predominantly to avoid any mistaken/unnecessary revisitation.
Under groundspeak guidelines, this logging is acceptable as I was indeed at Cache GZ in person in recent times. However, all cache owners have the right to delete logs as they see fit. Usually done to "Armchair loggers" or inappropriate texting.
If any cache Owner/s have questions regarding this matter, please feel free to contact.
TeamOZCAT logged finds when both Karen and Reg logged as individuals. This logging is exactly the same, only in reverse. Again, groundspeak acceptable.
For an unspecified period of time TeamOZCAT are no longer cache searching but remain active in our cache management and maintenance.
I sincerely thank all CO's and wish you all the best in your endeavours. Cheers Karen

Many cache owners are already aware: As per Groundspeak guidelines, I am claiming find because physically found under TeamOzcat. I undertake this not for disinterested statistical purposes, but because of inability to revisit this cache, and/or because it's so damn confusing when viewing the local district geocache maps. I sincerely thank all CO's for time and effort in placement of their caches. Cheers Reg.
Yass to Cootamundra today, with about all the detours one can imagine. Again a great day of caching with a mix of traditionals and multi's. This one was a quick stop and grab.

Another great day on our one-year tripp around Australia. We love to travel in this country and we love to look for geocaches. This geocache has again shown us a place that we might not have visited without geocache.
Thank you for the geocache !
Greetings from Switzerland.

Out this way today so grabbed this one on the way by today.
It was a quick find and was in good condition, however there was no Trackable in here, Sgt. Brinny, I know he is camo but not that good, TB5XENN
Thanks Dorik for placing this cache for us and others to enjoy.

Out this way today so grabbed this one on the way by today. This poor old tree is looking a little fragile at the moment, but we were in the right area, at the right to see a trail was a bit exciting for some more than others.

Deployed the crew, found it, tagged it, replaced it, on our way, now logged it.
Thanks Dorik for placing this cache along here for us to find, Lil Donna

First find for the day after spending the night in Junee. Would have liked to visit the famous licorice factory before leaving but we were ready to leave before it opened so gave it a miss.
This one was quite obvious from a distance and I am surprised that it wasn't muggled when you see what is at GZ.
Thanks.

Found with Nibletricecakes on the long way back to Canberra. Not sure how much longer this hide will ladt - apparently, it is fragile. TFTC
Together with finderus today I viseted this cache by the trip to Mildura. Thank You for the cache and greetings from Dresden in Germany.
The rest area I was hoping to get a cache at had a lone worker having lunch (and it would have looked suss) so continued on to this one. Parking at this cache was easier on the way south - quickly crossed rad and signed the log. TB is unfortunately missing. TFTC
What a lovely day to do some caching. After a very cold and frosty night the sun warmed up the frozen fingers enough to do some finding and signing.
Thankfully we looked in the obvious and most logical place first and found the container, as our GPS wanted us at look about 11 metres away. This made the find quick and easy and we were soon on our way. Thanks to Dorik cor this cache.

Heading for home after a couple of days chasing caches to find Hidden Creatures. Looked in all the wrong places before finding it right where we had pulled up. TFTC
Totally ignored the obvious hiding place and the warning the coords were 9 metres out and wandered about without finding anything. Finally just about back to the car and we spotted it. Thanks Dorik for a break in driving and the cache.
I had no trouble finding this cache, because there are only a few possibilities, but I found the coordinates to be about ten metres out. TFTC Dorik.
Day 2 of my 5 day NSW adventure. Started in Wagga Wagga and ended in Bathurst.
21 finds today. The weather was fantastic. Saw Roos, rabbits and a few lizards.
5th stop. A quick find here despite the coords being 9m out. Initiative comes into play here.
Thanks for the cache

Since moving from New Zealand I have been enjoying the area, exploring and finding caches.
So far I’ve knocked off 4 of the states. VIC, SA, NSW and A.C.T
No two areas are the same here and almost every place I go is stunning. The beauty of caching is that it takes you to so many places you would never usually find.
Thank you to all the cachers out there for hiding and maintaining their caches. Especially to those who put so much effort into creating unique and fun hides.
The caches I’ve found in Australia so far have for the most part all been in great condition. Keep up the good work.

Since there was no hint and the co-ords for me were way out, I'll give a hint! No need to cross the fence!!
Found this cache on our way to the OZ Geo Muster at Morisset NSW.

Found by Mary & David at 1200. So dry and windy. A nice quick one, but no billabong today. Our thanks to Dorik.
I found this one on a road trip from Vic to the NSW mid north coast. An easy find. TFTC.
I found the remnants of the cache container, as well as the lid and a calling card from a previous cacher. I had a sistema in the car, as well as a log and pencil...so the cache is now replaced and ready to be found again. Fork of the big tree. Hope the CO does not mind.
I was going to drop in a handful of TBs, but when I arrived, i found that the Container was completely missing, except for a few smashed bits and the logbook sitting out in the elements. There were the remnants of some chainsaw action in the area, so suspect this was a victim of some roadside maintenance. I placed a temporary protection on the logbook (a plastic bag, all I had) but it needs urgent attention and a new container.
Another good find while going from cache to cache today.
