Maryborough isn't a quiet country town any more. This historic bridge takes a huge traffic flow at peak times-don't try crossing the road if you are in a hurry.
It's hard to believe this bridge can dissapear under floodwaters.
Thanks Liz and Bruce for the cache.

A lovely stroll over the bridge and beautiful views of what is currently a very calm-looking Mary River.
A likely place for GZ, and then a little tough work and strong fingers to extract the hide.
Thanks Liz and Bruce

A nice walk across the bridge on a Sunday morning. The cache was soon spotted, log signed and replaced as found. All good with this one. Thanks Liz and Bruce for another hide.
Wandered over the bridge in the rain and soon found the cache in the first place I looked - the hardest part was actually retrieving it. Wow that was a strong magnet!! TFTC Liz and Bruce
The GPSr worked wonderfully out here. Took us straight to it and found it straight away. Retrieval and return was not so quick however.
Day 4 & 5 in Maryborough. We thought we would continue to look around town and spend our time caching here. It didn't quite work out as we thought as there were a number of caches in parks and reserves and we ventured wider as well. A good variety of caches and hides all in generally good condition. We had mixed results on a number of tree fishing attempts. Some we just couldn't spot, others we couldn't reach with our fishing pole. Will have to look at some further modifications when we get home! We did manage to get a couple though!
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Liz and Bruce.

Finally found the cache after the third attempt here at this spot. Last time I must have been blind. It was a bit difficult to get the cache out of its hiding place.
Thanks for the cache and many greetings from Germany,

On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird, Liz & Bruce. I’ll leave the more interesting & detailed log to Mrs Geo (aka: SeasonedBird, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird or Angry Bird) because she writes so much more eloquently than I and usually has much more time to do so while I’m driving. It’s a great day for caching. TFTC Liz and Bruce

After recent floods the bridge is in a state of repair so we will not endeavour to replace the cache till repairs are complete.
We have cleaned and dried the original Logbook and placed it back in the container.

There has been a major flood in the Mary River and the Lamington Bridge went under more than 3 metres of muddy flood water. This afternoon we looked for this Cache and to our surprise it was exactly where we found it back in July 2020.....but this time it was full of silt and muddy water. The Log was ruined. After cleaning and drying the container we replaced the Log with a new one. Thanks Liz and Bruce for placing this Cache on our historic Lamington Bridge.
Thought we found it in one of the beams and soon found that was a lot of built up dirt haha then looked right next to where we thought it was and it was right there! TFTC
Found it on my great Qld road trip. Great geocache and thanks for recipe. Many thanks
A few muggles around on the pedestrian walkway this morning because of the annual Bridge to Bridge Rowing Regatta, but they were all looking at the river so paid no attention to us.
All good with cache and log signed.

A day caching around Maryborough and enjoying the history that some of the caches showed me. I found a variety of hides and this was one of them. Once at GZ the cache was soon in hand.
I loved the recipe and do love the ones you get from the ladies at the local church.
Once the logs were signed all were returned as found.

Logging old caches originally found with alphag_25. Now have my own account and logging them separately so that I can claim the finds.
04/07/21 Staying in Maryborough Camp site with Caravan and seeing the sights and grabbing some caches. I am on holidays from Mackay. Been to the Bond Store, Mary Poppins and Military Museum this morning. Great Day. Now caching. TFTC SL
After being given a suggestion we returned today and had another look. We started our search a distance from GZ, this was a joiner in the bridge so that we would know were we were at. Hubby found the cache not far from where our GPS told us to look, then we questioned ourselves "How on earth did we miss that", our only excuse can be that we were tired. SL TFTC
I found this cache on a trip with Snickersallan, I thank all CO's for the time and effort putting out and maintaining the caches, all were enjoyed. TFTC
Day 3 of our visit to beautiful Maryborough and our plan is to do the inner part of town then work our way around the surrounding areas.
Lovely walk out to look for this one and luckily it was found quickly. Now I feel like having a cuppa with a nice lamington

A DNF for us today in the rain. Spent 30 minutes looking, poking fingers in muddy places and scratching the noggin.

Headed to Hervey bay for my annual pilgrimage to see my daughters on their first day of school for the year. Lucky there's a couple of hundred of caches between Hervey Bay and home.
This was cache **47** of **70** All caches were found with ease and in good condition unless otherwise said, and I thank each of the Cache Owners for placing and maintaing these caches. I apologise for the generic logs, it doen't mean the effort has not gone unnoticed.
Nice easy find on a very windy day after parking the car at the boat ramp
Thanks for the cache **Liz and Bruce**

This cache was put onto our target list after speaking with baby&Mrs gopher on Boxing Day. They explained they had a DNF sitting on this cache and needed to have another go when next in town. That was enough encouragement for us to find it and send a happy snap! Found after a brief search in a logical spot! Thankyou. Shall go eat a Lamington now.
Tftc Liz and Bruce, had a big walk around the park this is a great spot to finish up.
Man it was windy on the bridge early this morning Good thing I’d stopped for ️ and had the grit to stand my ground. Lovely view of the river and a quick find Good start to the day.

Heading up to Bundy for a few days and finding some caches along the way. Took a bit to spot for some reason between kids on bikes passing by, but glad I stuck with it and made the find.

The perfect day to find this cache, driving past and saw the Birthday Boy completing maintenance on the cache, we had a DNF a couple of days ago, today's find was very easy in the CO's hand, stamped log and handed back to be placed for the next finder. Thanks to Liz and Bruce.
Thought we'd better check on this one, it was missing and has now been replaced.
We were driving back to our van across the bridge and saw the CO doing maintenance on this cache.
We parked where it was safe and walked back to wish him a Happy Birthday and turn our DNF into a found.
Now Nana nel can make me a Lamington using the Recipe provided.
Adding a favourite and visited trackables.

We are not good enough to find what was needed to make the end result.

Driving to Maryborough this afternoon, spending the night there and then on to a job on Thursday morning.
Doing a loop of MB aiming to log the quick one's today, saving the longer ones for another time.
After a meal nearby I went for a walk to collect this cache.
Some impressive engineering, this bridge is still standing
Thank you for hiding this cache

Found by Mary and David at 13:55. We looked for this one when we were here back in April after a family holiday on Fraser Island. Don't know how we missed it then, but had no trouble today. We didn't drop it in the river either! A FP for the recipe too. Our thanks to Liz and Bruce.
Beware, do not drop the cache! Will definitely need muscles, the magnet force is really strong!!!
Day 1 of our QOGM Road Trip and we are making our way from Brisbane to Maryborough. After unpacking our things at a nearby motel we decided to walk down towards the bridge and collect a couple of caches. With this muscle power we were able to sign the log. Thanks L&B.
Arrived at GZ and boy was it busy. Took a little while to find, but eventually spotted it.TFTC
We walked across this bridge yesterday as we were out exercising our geomut. Mr. Herbz spied the cache but we didn't have a writing implement with us. So today we decided to take the same route and armed with a pen we signed the log. TFTC Liz and Bruce
TFTC. We are housesitting in Bundaberg for a few months. Having basically cached out Bundaberg, we needed to go further afield. We found some caches in Maryborough last year and there were plenty left to find, including a couple of very new puzzles. We aimed to find caches on the RV Homebase side of the Mary River and then to rectify a dnf from last year. We ended up expanding this a little, as you do. We had an enjoyable day attempting 23 caches for 22 finds and 1 dnf. We also qualified for a challenge cache back in Victoria. Great day and great variety .
A bit bigger than what we were expecting. We were a little nervous removing the container as we did not want to drop it into the Mary.

Took longer than I'd like to admit to Coordinates were close but I was searching for something smaller
I dropped a TB to travel with the next cacher!
It's School holidays, so we are on a Caravan trip with our grandaughter. Today we stay in Maryborough for the Mary Poppins Festival.
Later we walked the dolls and grabbed some caches. Thanks to the COs.

House sitting at River Heads for a few months and today is for discovering some caches in Maryborough. TFTC.
After seeing a number of DNF's I was reluctant to do this, but there it was - took some effort to remove it, but managed to get it, sign the log and replace it
Thanks for the hide Liz and Bruce - when do you two get home?
cheers

Hi there Liz and Bruce. This morning was for cache hunting while this afternoon is for shopping in and perhaps some caching in Maryborough. I had looked for this cache several years ago on our last visit but it beat us then, but this time we came prepared and it was found in the first place we looked. This cache was a quick find and the container and the log are dry and quite useable. SL, TN, LN. Thanks to Liz and Bruce for this cache - our find #6742.
Just finished a marvellous 5-day holiday with our children and grandchildren on Fraser Island, and now making our way south again to attend the Clear Waters Mega. Looked for this one for quite a while, but no success. Too good for us today. We'll be passing close to your place soon. Sorry we won't get a chance to meet (this time). Our thanks anyway to Liz and Bruce.
