8.2 World travelers adventure log.Out and about exploring the world with Nildran on this epic adventure! Thanks for adding to our memories and letting us explore your favorite spots all over the world! It continues to be a wild ride!TFTC SL If you find yourself at a local pub during trivia night, and the category is:'States shaped like a Mitten'here is some information that may help you win that round:Michigan trivia 8.216. Belle Isle Is a Magical Place for One ReasonOnly here on this whimsical little island right off the coast of Detroit can you actually see Canada on the other side. This island sits right on the Detroit River, separating the United States mainland from the Canadians. You can feel like you're located in both countries.17. You Really Can Eat as Much Chicken as You Want at the Bavarian InnThis is a restaurant where you'll feel like you're getting six, seven, eight, even nine courses in a meal. Make it a vacation and just prepare yourself for a lot of chicken.18. How to Traverse the Sand Dunes Without CrampingLots of state parks and campgrounds near the coast have big sand dunes, but they cant begin to rival the golden mountains of Ludington and Holland. You'll develop some serious muscles walking across those dunes just to get to Lake Michigan.19. Western Michigan Is Basically A Miniature NetherlandsYoull probably know the Vandermeers, Van Deidens, Vandermolens, Van Winkles, Vanderwildens and Van Amedes, all on your street. The Dutch were also responsible for launching the well-known CRC (The Christian Reformed Church) in Michigan.20. Bimbo Bakery Smells Like HeavenNothing beats the fresh smell of baked bread, and no place is better than the Bimbo Bakery on 28th Street in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Its the headquarters for Sara Lee Bread and other baked goods, so no wonder the smell draws people in like flies. Bimbo Bakery is king.21. Detroit Lions Fans Are Very FaithfulYou'll never insult a Detroit Lion. Even if the football team's sucking huge, keep your mouth shut. They'll stare at the TV and pray that the team gets at least one field goal. Just one.22. How To Do A "Michigan Left""Michigan lefts" are inevitablein that there's no avoiding them. Its really nothing more than a fancy U-turn on a highway with a median. They're convenient, but remember: The point of a "Michigan left" is so that you can turn left on a street. That's all.23. Getting Locked In Is Actually AwesomeMore commonly on the western side of the state, youth groups with their hayrides and lock-ins are a plethora and abundance. You ride in the back of a truck with a bunch of hay, and then you and your kids will get "locked" inside your church for the night to "sleep over." Let's not forget those fantastic Michigan apples at the local orchard to pick the morning after.24. You Won't Need a Car on Mackinac IslandIt may be the only island in existence allowing horse carriage rides throughout the region and no cars. None. There will be taxis, but that's about it. You will, in fact, have no choice but to leave your car at Mackinaw City to take the ferry to the island.
Hmm had a bit of a wander for this as GPS going silly for some reason- TFTC
Up at Kaiteriteri today doing the ad lab, as well as some of the fun looking caches along the way. Beautiful spot here, TFTC

We cycled several tracks and streets last year, but we are back for more. Still haven't seen any penguins here. Thanks for the placement, kitty!
Arrived for a group event earlier in the day but wanted to explore some pathways and stretch my legs some so off I went to explore and grab some caches. It was late afternoon and there were just a few people on the beach enjoying the balmy weather. Found easily enough. TFTC.
Hello! Thanks for hiding it and it was very fun to look for it its our second time of finding one in our lives THANK U!
Great day out here today: very nice weather, good walk & swim and some caches to top it all off
Nice spot here, found after some searching, tftc!

Last find on our walk over to Stephens Bay and back. TFTC. (We searched and signed quickly lest muggles jump to the wrong conclusion as to our unusual positions at the time )
Visiting Kaiteriteri Beach, enjoying the shoreline and picking up shells. Found the cache, signed the log.
For the information of the previous cacher, there is a toilet only 200m away...

Couldn't believe when my friend said she'd spotted it. This was the first cache we've found.
After a day out exploring Takaka we decided to stop here along the way back and complete the adventure lab and a couple of reads.
Nice quick find by Kapiti Kids here.
Thanks for the cache.

Thanks for the cache.
After completing the Abel Tasman great Walk we spent another couple of days in the Nelson area. Went to Takaka to visit the labyrinth rocks and the springs. On our way back after an enjoyable look around Takaka we stopped by in Kaiteriteri for some unfinished caching business and of course had to add a few more caches onto our trip. Gorgeous little beach here and Kapiti kids found the cache and luckily it had a writing stick in the cache. TFTC!
TFTC. Glad I head the kids to scramble around for me. Log a bit damp but still intact.
Good find after an amazing swim at Kaiteriteri beach. Nice and quick, most of the muggles were enjoying the sun and the beach. Thanks!
A short family vacation in Nelson. Out here in Kaiteriteri beach to see sunrise. This one was a quick find. TFTC
Looked for this one ages ago but too any around. Quiet today and quick locate. Tftc
There was a big trailer parked nearby, but it was empty, so no issues getting the cache. TFTC.
All in favour of the cause. Pengi is little and blue, but could tackle a dog any day.
Thanks for the cache.
Out on a geocaching roadie today while my muggle partner plays some golf. Want to pick a couple of the geotour caches out this way and also fill one of the holes on my DT grid
Haven't been out this way before so enjoyed the sights on a bueatiful Tasman day

In the South Island from Tauranga on a six week holiday and now following the PWGT. I hope to have the tour completed before I get home. Of course I had to stop for this as well.
A stunning day. Many Thanks.
I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

First cache of the day, we walked up to the viewing spot then I fossicked around for this one on the way back to the car. As usual, RG took a selfie showing me in a compromising position. Go the little blue penguins! TFTC Kitty.
A day in the Abel Tasman for myself and RG1972.
We were before time getting in to Kaiteriteri, so claimed a cache on the way in, then jumped on the boat to get dropped off at Tonga quarry.
Not many goals for geocaching today - there were only 2 caches on our trip from Tonga quarry to Medlands - and we had 4 hours to kill to get there.
So we took our time, enjoying eating empanadas for lunch at one end and reading Hemingway in the sun at the other, while waiting for the boat. Fantastic day, we had some good chat with fellow travellers on the way.
After the trip we found a few caches in the Kaiteriteri area, taking advantage of a very low tide for one. Then home by 6pm. Thanks all COs.

It is a long weekend (Anzac Weekend) and NZDi wanted a few days away. We spent a few days in Motueka over Easter and intended to tack a couple of days at Kaiteriteri to that trip, but end up staying at Mot, so this trip is to make up for that. Our intention was to come across on Friday, spend two nights at the camping ground, then head home. But we enjoyed the first two days so much, we tacked another day onto it and will go home on Monday.
Today is day two of our holiday and first up is a walk from our camp site over to Stephens Bay and back. This was our first find of the day and I must say, that despite seeing signs all over the area telling us to be careful of the penguins, we didn't see one all weekend.
A QEF here as per the hint.
