Logs
Did not find, was hoping to climb a tree but couldn't see it, previous log indicates it's no longer where it says it is. Searched the ground but couldn't find (overgrown)
Based on the cache name, I was hoping it would be on the sign closer to the road. After reading the attributes, I was happy to have Marchwood with me, who is very good at this activity. The grass on the way to GZ was very, very tall and concealed some blackberries, so I got the required number of leg scratches and blood loss before arriving. Following the attributes, we looked in that direction only to be disappointed. Instead, we spotted the cache in a much easier location, so the attribute is no longer needed. TFTC.
Found on the way from Charleston to Marahau. Fast found but more a T 3 than a T 1,5.
Had to get through the high grass first, then sighted the cache quickly and could sign the logbook. Everything okay here. Tftc!
Found the cache but was very difficult to get to the cache as the tree was dead and branches kept breaking trying to get up to it. In the end decided not to risk injuring myself and did not sign the logbook. Great concept but needs to be lower down. TFTC.

RNZ was all arms & legs for this one. I advised on the retrieval Motueka is my childhood town, so lots of cool memories to share with RNZ along our travels today
Today we thought we would head over to Motueka to visit the market & then up the Motueka Valley to Ngatimoti for some geo adventures. My grandparents lived just across the Peninsula Bridge so I love this area The we drove through to Upper Moutere via Risedale Road & stopped at the Upper Moutere pub to refuel The Polenta chippies are yummy!!!!!

Number 5 for us today. It took a short time to spot it, then a bit of dexterity to retrieve it, and I ditched the jandals and found bare feet easiest. Still, could have been a lot higher up and a bit more of a challenge, so happy to get it safely as it was. All good here.
TFTC Zakaye.
Today we popped in to Motueka to visit the market. It was a bit low key due to the average weather, but we still made some purchases.
On the trip home we took some back roads toward Ngatimoti. Good memories from RG’s childhood out here as this is where her grandparents lived.
For me, some roads I have never been down before and a few caches on the way into Upper Moutere, some refreshments, then off home.

We failed to find this cache in 2015, as we didn't have access to the hint information. This time, although our GPS was bouncing around, we found a likely tree and eventually spotted the cache. Not the easiest for a couple of geriatrics to retrieve, but we managed to do so. We struggled to extract the log until we discovered both ends could be opened. TFTC
After a few minutes I had spotted. Signed log then dropped the cache. Darn it. Back down and up again.
I'm caching with a pocket query on my GPSr which doesn't have attributes in it. So I had no luck last night searching for this. Luckily I had the chance to come back here again this morning for another look, after I had checked the attributes, and found it after a short search. TFTC.
Now this cache was a challenging find in the dark. Wandered around and around trying to find the cache - torchlight is not great for finding things. And when I did find it, it was one hand to hold the log, another to hold the pen, and my third hand to hold the torch so I could see where I was signing! Great little geotrip before the others wake for breakfast.
I came to Nelson with a bunch of objectives in mind - find some size small caches, visit the family - there are more of them than usual this weekend, visit the two adventure labs in Motueka, and finally sort out the last Nelson railway cache. Alas I forgot the adventure labs, and could only get half way on the railway hide, but I managed to tick the rest off.

I like this cache, because I love tree climbing (all, from easy ones to T5)! I had to run to my sleeping car parking about 400 meters (free camp) for a tweezer, than went back. Thank you very much for night geocaching before a trip to Mount Arthur.
Day 3 of the string filling in our dot days for this month, so after work once again it was off out to fill this day in. Todays choice we had driven past many times and had worked out we needed some xtra bit of equipment so today it was ll loaded ready. Retrieved cach ok but extraction took a trip back to the cache mobile. Soon sorted and signed abnd headed back to return to it's hide. Not too many muggle cars to annoy us. TFTC
We stopped at this cache awhile ago and had it spotted but didn't have the equipment to be able to grab it - so added it to our list of ones to complete on one of our dot days - decided today was the day so got ourselves sorted so we could pop out after Stretch0 finished work tonight - it was light enough to see what (sort of) we were doing and soon had the cache retrieved then had to go back to the car to be able to retrieve the log - had it all signed and replaced with only a few cars whizzing past - thanks for the cache
A little behind in some cache logging took a rekkie around the Ngatimoti loop with SJT_NZ after completing chores, a quick find thanks to SJT's sharp eyes and a quick shimmy we had log in hand. All in good order. Thanks, Zayaye
Found with Tregearp whilst out doing some 'reward' caching. Quickly spotted the cache and then needed to decide who would do the recover. In the end I took the job on, and the teamwork worked well with Tregearp completing formalities with the log before I then replaced as found.
Thanks for a great Zakaye cache.
Thanks for a great Zakaye cache.
Fire is very applicable at the moment with new fires starting every day. I didn't see the attributes until I was at gzish. But I could see it and soon pulled myself up. A bit of s balancing act and log signed. Thanks for bringing us here

I should have read the page properly. Was on my own while my partner was waiting in the car. Next time for sure.Cheers
I was on fire with this one. A little unpleasant getting to GZ in the wet grass. Climbed up and soon spotted the cache. Went back down to get a tool. Up again to open it with a few small screwed up paper balls coming out (logs) and dropping down into the long grass Sorry. Signed the remaining paper. No problems as climbing skills are good. Tftc
It must have been a sight driving past!!! I had difficulty getting the log out of the cache, thks
Another drive through the Lewis Pass between Takaka and Christchurch, this time heading back south after a short trip home to spend time with family. The plan for today was to knock over a whole lot of caches in the northern end of the drive. I was also pleased to be able to get a smiley for a few caches that have left me stumped previously. Started off a sunny day, looked to be great for driving, but the rain started somewhere north of Springs Junction and didn't end up stopping. Took a bit of time to spot the cache... then getting to it wasn't as hard as it looked. TFTC (3260)
Today I started from 1957 finds and chasing down 2000. This cache was find 1978. Thanks to Zakayé for the cache. Good exercise in cache retrieval.
Off on a days caching with MuzzaL53 helping him get to 2000 - well someone had to help him!! Glad i had a cache partner with me for this one. TFTC
As I hitchhiked from Motueka back to Ngatimoti where my friends live, I was dropped by a couple going to Alex Bridge so I walked a bit and this gave me an opportunity for some caching. After two DNFs earlier I found this one rather easily. Climbing proved to be a wee bit trickier and extracting the cache whilst maintaining my balance proved even trickier. Though I had no tweezers I managed to extract the log and sign for my third and final find of the day. TFTC
I came over to New Zealand to meet my son, who was staying for nearly six months on the other side of the world. Our intension is, to travel now for 4 weeks through this fantastic land and visiting a lot of fine spots on both islands.
Met in Auckland, our first trip led us to the Far North with some spectacular locations. It was a lot of driving, but we think, it was worth the result.
The second part of our travelling route led us to the south. Going via Hamilton with some fine locations, Hobbiton was an absolutely must of our "unexpected journey" . Went then to Tauranga with a hard upclimb to Mt. Maunganui, visited Rotorua to see lot of vulcanic activities, have had a lot of fun with Zorbing and Claybird shooting and drove then to Taupa, to doing Skydiving.
Napier with it's beautiful Art Deco district and the great Aquarium was the next stop.
Final destination on the North Island was Wellington, were we visited some great places and met some friends from Germany.
After crossing Cook Strait now we followed the east side of the southern island down to the most southern point of New Zealand.
Blenheim with its wine yards, fantastic dolphin watching in Kaikoura, the story of earthquake in Christchurch, following the famous coastline down to Dunedin with its beautiful and interesting places as well as the nice city of Invercargill were our main spots on this part of our journey.
Being in the South, the way now went up on the west coast back to the north. Crossing the Fjordland with its famous landscapes we've reached Te Anau to do a private flight over Milford Sound, then spend in Queenstown some time with the most spectacular activities ever done (Canyon jumping and Shotover canyon jetriding were some unforgetable experiences!) the way led us to the glaciers, up to the nice town of Westport and further to Abel Tasman Park to doing an unbelievable hike trough the park and an outstanding kayak tour with seal and bird watching.
Nelson, Picton; Cook Strait is waiting again for us.
Of course, even if was is not our main activity during this holidays, we were looking for some caches, which are laying beside our route.
So this cache was one of those, we've picked up.
Many thanks to Zakayé for this fine cache and best greetings from Germany.

We found the cache but we're not able to sign the log without extra support. The container is cute. TFTC
Found this cache but was unable to sign the log. Nice container - looks like an antique.
Quick find but took a bit to extract log from cache with extra log paper, wasn't easy balancing while trying to get it out but got there in the end TFTC
Took some finding but eventually came up trumps. Log book full - sorry, I didn't have a replacement with me. Thanks Zakaye!!
Today we did the big loop through Tapawera up to Motueka and then back to Nelson. This cache turned out to be exactly what I thought and where I thought. Mum played monkey today and was very proud of it (as was I of her). At the end of a big cache day Mum and I always do our favs or highlight cache of the day and this was hers. Good job. The log is full (room for one more.) Unfortunately the only logs we had were too narrow and wouldve been troublesome to remove. Dropping a fav point. Thanks for the cache
Searched for ages finally paddle chick located and retrieved the cache great container .Tftc
Lots of geotrails to follow around here which was good as the grass was long and wet. But it did mean that we were distracted from what turned out to be GZ. Should have persevered here a little longer. Anyway. spotted the cache quickly on a second look but there was no way I could retrieve so StreetWalker did the honours.
Ideal container for a geocache, good buy! TFTC.

#9672. We first looked in the right place and didn't spot the cache. Then we looked at the sign (including a bit of clambering) and had no luck. Then Troodles went back to the original spot and spotted the cache right away. She left the retrieval to me, which proved to be straightforward. TFTC.

For once I had done a bit of research before heading out so had put something else in the boot which came in really handy. A fun cache thanks and a real cute container - that was a good find. TFTC #6667
Yay! Found it. A bit hard to look nonchalant with so much traffic flying past! TFTC
I was all set to go search for this the night it was published. I loaded the cache into my GPS and was about to walk out the door when for some reason I paused and read the description - - the hint - - and the attributes. Nah I decided - - not in the dark - - not without support crew. I verified today that I made the right decision!!! A cool hide . TFTC .
Thank you for this wonderful cache. It was a beautiful place in an incredible country.
I went for a drive in this area this morning and found a few caches along the way. My last cache for the morning. This one really had me going. I kept moving between 3 potential search areas without any luck. Then after a while I changed my angle of approach to one of the areas and spotted the cache. GPS indicated about 10m off for me. No problem with retrieval, although the log took a wee while to extract. TFTC, Biggles.
Out with Kiwi Grandad giving the X1/9 a run. GPS insisted on one spot but no cache there. PAF suggested to try a different place and cache soon located and retrieved. With the weather lately I'm surprised the arrow wasn't in a different zone.
Thanks Zakayé for the cache.

We failed to find this cache, but we didn't have access to the hint information, which has given us some further ideas.
Today it was time for leaving Motueka and drive towards Murchison and further on to Westport. On the way we made some stops and found some caches .
No problem to find and get this one. But shouldn`t it have been D/T 1½/2 (or maybe even 2½) instead of 2/1½?
Anyway, thanks for a nice cache.

Mrs SoBad and her sister spotted the cache 2 days ago. We stopped for a T1.5 - the attributes were read afterwards. Back as a team today with a boost in the boot. SoBad did the retrieve, Mrs the sign and Sobad the replace. Support of the boost was provided by Mrs S so SoBad regained the ground intact.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Nice hide and a bit of fun. Glad I didn't need an extraction tool otherwise, being on my own, I would have run out of hands

Yup, this was a good geocaching road trip in the end. We started out to retrieve a "lost" cache at Glenhope then detoured down through Tapawera to here. Our GZ pointed us in another direction initially but geosense soon had us in the right place and pondering retrieval. Mission soon accomplished. What a neat container! Thank you Zakayé.
Not really close to home but along a road traveled every once and a while. Today it was a detour from a cache maintenance trip and a pressie to ourselves for another job done before the season starts in earnest. The fact that we couldn't use our snowmobile didn't dampen our enthusiasm. It took a bit of a hunt, then team work before we came up smiling. Thank you Zakayé for placing this cache.
After watching this one sit for awhile untouched I can now say that it has been found TFTC and a FTF
