Logs
Was a bit tricky due to the coordinates being out, but after reading a few other finders logs, we found ourselves looking in all the likely spots and then we had cache in hand
I arrived in Brisbane, from New Zealand, last Tuesday night, for a couple of weeks work. During my time here I hope to find several geocaches, but for many reasons none was more important to me to find than GC8E - Queens land. I always enjoy the old ones. So, after a morning of effort to 'fuel' up the car I had, I headed out here. After finding the old one, I carried on and did a loop walk picking up caches along the way. All were found without too much trouble. An excellent way to spend a few hours.---Thanks to DutchAus for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.
Found a few weeks ago and finally got around to logging the remainder of the series today. All caches found quickly and easily. All in good condition.Codes recorded and will need to work on final at home and return to clean up a few stray caches in this lovely piece of bushland.A big thanks to the cache owner for making this cache available for fellow cachers to find.Cheers
Starting 2 rain but I've now the gist of this series, so a quick find & T4TC:-)
Out to do the HS with ILTW on this beautiful day. Found after a bit of a search, co-ords are quite a bit off but same MO as previous caches so made it easier to spot. TFTC
Out walking with sniggypop. This was was away form the coordinates but looked for a likely hiding spot and found it
Not sure if the one was meant to have a clue but it did not..?????#858______Having woke up on my first day off and the sun was trying to break through.. I though I would head out to Karawatha Forest for some caches today.Total ride: 3:05:21. Completed 23 caches.Totaling 16.87km ride distance.Great day out before the sun decided to head back undercover.
Hiking today with karen rinora. The coords were out a wee bit for us on this one, but we managed to track it down. TFTC!
Found, with fivegk, while on a caching holiday from Canada. TFTC, and Happy Caching!
Today we left the highway to visit the old cache Queens land. This month is still missing from the statistics. After visiting this cache, we found a few more cans in the area. Thanks for the caches.
This one took me the longest to find. After looking around for a bit I turned to look through the logs for some help. It seemed that others had found it to be a long way away from GZ so I spread out my search and ended up looking in a lot of places before I finally found it. In the end it wasn't too far off from where my gps had me at the start. Unfortunately there was no clue here either. Very well hidden cache DutchAus!---Today I set out to tackle the Holden Series of caches in Karawatha Forest. I started from the Illaweena Street Picnic Area and followed the Casuarina Track and then the Maculata Trail. I took a small detour up to Poet's Rock and then returned to follow the trail through to HS-10. I then returned along the same tracks. All up the walk was about 7km and took me about 3hrs. Some of the caches were quite difficult to find so it took me longer than I thought it would and I decided to turn around after number 10. I'll have to come back and finish the rest another day.
Finally caught up with this one. It was really annoying me that I had to leave a DNF on it before.Read a few logs which suggested it may be 10 to 15 metres from indicated spot, so today I was determined to really widen the search area. Interestingly, my GPS led me to the other side of the path from where I had previously searched, so that was a huge start already. About 3 minutes later I had it in hand. Thanks for the cache. Quick and easy find this time.
Caching in Australia From the USA. Second day.Flew from Sydney to Brisbane. The Quest of this trip is to find caches that were hid in the year 2000.Found on the way to Queensland. Thanks DutchAus for the fun. May have signed log RRS17374th February 06 2024 @12:03:00 AM
Found but no clue in the cache. I wonder if well manage to find the bonus. Found with Grub1204.
Today we went for a walk and cache in the Karawatha Forest, lots of well-made tracks and many people either walking or riding along them this afternoon. Collected most of the codes along the way in caches that had them, now to work out the bonus cache. TFTC
I have never been to Australia in my life, but my great hobby gives me the opportunity to get to know this incredibly relaxed, pleasant and beautiful country from all sides. So I was able to come here and find a very nice tin along the way. Thank you very much for planting and looking after it!
Unfortunately, three containers of this series didnt contain the necessary clue and one was completely missing (which we replaced). Nevertheless we tried to find the Bonus by educated guessing but unfortunately didnt succeed.Danke fr's Austfteln, Herlocken, Verstecken und Pflegen !Thank you very much for luring us here as well as for hiding and maintaining the cache !....../ ).....' /---' (_____.TFTC . Greetings from Ireland!I was actually born in Darwin but moved to Ireland at the age of 3 - now at the age of 40 I am making my first return visit which lasts for 5 weeks. The final part of my trip involved a road trip from Sydney to Brisbane (driving over 5 days with a different place to stay each night). This was one of the many caches I found on that 5 day part of the trip. Tftc!
This one took us a little longer to find and looked to be about 15 meters from GZ. Looks to be a replacement cache and we didn't see a clue for the final mystery cache ( although later on I found some clues in the start of some replacement logs but didn't notice on this one ^^). Cheers for the cache!
Had to search a bit for this one but a fluro flash caught my attention and easy peasy after that. Tftc
We are now heading north to avoid the coldest of the winter weather in Victoria. Loving our time around Brisbane and around the area. Today we started out with an event, then picked up a variety of finds while meandering back to home base.
Stopped off here to grab the nearby oldest but grabbed this one, on the way out. A quick find at GZ. No hint found here.
Thanks DutchAus for placing this cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy finding it.

Took the KG kids and Klossymel out to do some caching now the 12yo has a caching bag of tricks. Took a while but she deciphered the clues and came up with the goods!
Well the cache is there. Beyond well hidden but no clue. TFTC. I’m pretty sure I can wing it.
Requires CO attention due to a long trail of DNF’s. Widened the search to no avail.

This one took a little while as it was 9m off GPS coordinates. We widened the search radius and here it was, only the code for the bonus cache is missing. Signed and re hidden.
Might have been a bit premature talking about easy finds ... couldn't get this one at all. GPS wasn't working very well, but a thorough search failed to turn this one up. I'm sure it is still there - I just couldn't find it. Back some other day for this one.
Thanks for the cache, all looked to be in good condition. Tried completing this series but the rain was starting to come in so i had to skip a few unfortunately.
Out today to continue with my challenges, I was in this area yesterday walking around and today I have comeback with my bike. I parked in the same area as yesterday and started off on my ride. It was a nice day and while there is a little wind around it did make for a pleasurable ride. I am happy to say dnf’s here today. Collected all the remainders in the series, and an extra one along the way, so that would be a total of 12.
So tricky hides and some easy hides, all good with all caches and in some cases I found two caches at the hide. I signed logs and returned all as found, thank you for the fun today.

No cache but we found a toad. We also suspect the toad was guarding the cache. You win this time toad
Today i decided to take my geo bike out this way and tackle this series. My mountain bike was out of order so i just took my vintage bike and was not sure if it was up for this terrain but it managed just perfectly. I love these types of series and this one took me to a lovely serene place to ride my bike . I ended up with only 1 DNF. The log book was full so i added a new sheet of my newly acquired water proof paper . Thanks for all the fun
Have to say this one took us a little while longer, was well covered over and we mist it at first..We sat down and had a rethink.. Gotcha.. Signed both
A fun ramble with Wayn0, catching up and learning the ways of the Australian Bush. Got my first sighting of a wallaby too! TFTC
This took ages. In fact we left it to continue to do The remaining ones on this track then came back and tried again. DisSister found it in a place I’d already checked. TWICE!! TFTC
After an unsuccessful hunt, we read previous logs and discovered that we needed to be further away from GZ but it took a PAF to help with the direction (southwest) until we finally found the cache. Thanks DutchAus
Well, we certainly were thorough on our initial comb over before moving onto HS-5, but S in particular was tenacious enough to make the find on our second search on the way back to the car park. Placed it back with some slightly more conspicuous camouflage to aid the next finder.
Spied a little bearded friend while searching too, haven't seen one of these little fellas in the wild for years!

I wanted to finish this series which I started last year. I started looking on the wrong side of the track and found a frog instead. I widened my search and found it about 12 m out. Tftc
Coordinates were in the middle of the track (A little far from anything which could house the cache) probably check the coordinates.
We headed for a change to the South Side of Brisbane.
After having found and signed the oldest cache and the two celebrations, we enjoyed our Brekkie at the Picknick spot, then headed on over for couple of more caches.
A pity that HOLDEN cars are not anymore built in Australia, but we did this series.
Coming from the North Side, we were shocked to see all those fallen giant trees, and expected that couple of these caches had disappeared.
Lucky this one was here.

Spotted a likely hide, and it was on the ground nearby. All the ses flags in the area are a little off putting!
I have been planning a visit to Karrawatha Forest for a while, today geopup and I finally made it.
Needed to expand the search before making the find.
Thanks DutchAus for the great series.

I have returned to Karawatha Forest for the third time this month in an attempt to clear up all the amazing caches in this fabulous forest. Travelling on foot I have collected 14 today. Oh how I envy those who can scoot around on their bikes. Hopefully I am almost finished with my collecting here. TFTC
