After 8 DNFs in a month this needs some maintenance from the ever - vigilant scouts. Interesting place for the cache container... shame it is is empty.
Looked forward to this one but it is no longer there.... as has been noted often lately. Interesting that the Scouts are keen to watch it... have they noticed IT IS GONE!? Missed out on a pathtag as a result.
Quiet part of town apart from a noisy red tailed black and me tramping towards this nicely large cache. Thanks
Found whilst staying a few days in area. Caching with the x-trailers. Cache in good condition. TFTC
On arrival at GZ we were very surprised to find the cache sitting in the open with the lid partially removed
The log book and contents all seemed to be there so we signed the log and returned the cache under cover.
Many thanks for the hide absib[^]

Our very first cache we found, super easy! We took out a cute little smiley face badge, and put in a few little things
Hi there absib. We found your cache "Mareeba Scout Den" at 2:13:00 PM today. This cache makes our find count 11062.
[Blue]We are staying up on the Atherton Tableland for a week or so, and are thoroughly enjoying our exploration of the area.
Today we saw many interesting things as we traveled around - some of which we may have totally missed were it not for Geocaching.
We found the cache open and exposed.
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
Cache Condition: The container and log book are in good shape, but the listed trackables "Montana 2008 Geocoin" & "Waltham Abbey Scouts TB ONE" are not in the cache, could absib (or the Trackable owner) please "Mark them each as Missing" so they can be removed from the cache inventory. This option is under Actions on the trackable's web page).
Took: Nothing.
Left: Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

TFTC! This was one of several caches we found today while touring the Tablelands, we had a great time!
We rode over on our bikes and after walking around for half a minute we found it easily.
Found today and retrieved Travel Bug. Many thanks for thaking us to the Scout Den as we were scout people way back when. TFTF
Our first cache for the day, we were on our way to Irvinebank when we decided to take a break and do the caches in Mareeba. Fantastic place for the scout hall, bet they have a load of fun here.

Cairns Dive Trip March 2015. After a shortened first dive drip I decided a day trip out caching would be the way to go. It is great to see scouts active in so many areas of Australia, not just the big towns. Thanks.

When we arrived there was a little dog who followed us everywhere ) how ever the cache we found by ourselve!;) like a scout or like a good act every day, we helped the dog to find back to his home and his owner was really happy to see him again:)) thx for the cache!!
Geoson and i found this one today. I had a little issue with the gps sending me the wrong way at first and then she locked on. Left a few small swaps and a pathtag today.
I did cub scouts here when i was a kid. Good to see its still going. Nice easy find.
overnighted in Mareeba
just a quick stop here on our way out of town
grabbed a TB to move it along
thanks for the cache

TFTC found it with my son who is a Joey Scout at Freshwater. We left a trackable we picked up in Townsville.
Both the GPS and the phone places me I. The middle if the parade ground. Widened the search to the den and the shed, behind, in the trees. Didn't seem anywhere to stash what sounds like a large cache. Might have to try again tomorrow with less cloud cover.
Was about to drive off and thought I'll just do one more round and there it was in the first place I should have looked. I was over complicating things. (Took another 100% confidence waypoint average S17o00.234 E145o25.800.) TFTC.
I had asked a friend to drop the Waltham Abbey Scout Trackable into the Mareeba Scout Den cache.
This has now been done and awaits a new finder.

A good area for a cache, although I'm not too sure that it's a wise hide location so close to curious young scouts. The big frilly lizard wasn't happy to see us, but we were fascinated by the rock used to keep the door of the shed open; a vein of silver perhaps? I see that bret876 took the coin back on the 7th. TFTC TN and left a weroamin token.
Noted that a new cache has been hidden in town since weroamin added a few more to his existing collection of cache hides in Mareeba. Found in his company. Took lure with unsafe hooks, as they posed a problem in caches where children and adults could injure themselves, and left a small ball. TFTC.
A new cache placed in Mareeba was cause enough for us to enjoy a Sunday afternoon drive.
Even though I had lived in Mareeba for a few years I had never been past the Scout Hut before. We parked nearby and followed the GPS towards the rear of the property. We scouted about (no pun intended) before we located the generously sized cache container.
We only signed the log, but I'll revisit this cache shortly as I currently have a trackable that is from another Scout group (Waltham Abbey in the United Kingdom) and it would love to be deposited in this container.
