We were up the road for the pirate event so decided we might as well come down the street and have a little look for this one. Saw the DNF and a few people saying it took a while but we got very lucky and found it in pretty much the first place we looked. Very close to the mangroves here. Thanks for placing and maintaining this geocache.
I had to go and visit my daughter's house today and did this one on the way.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
Found this one a few months ago but only just caching up on my logging now, from what I remember my phone GPS kept playing up so it took me quite awhile
Stopped in here on my way to the "Three Ducks with One Stone" Meet. Yet another wee reserve I didn't know existed. TFTC
Found it with master_ninja007 and my little bro! Very cool place! TFTC! Great thing to do during Queen's bday
Very good find today while geocaching around the area.
Thanks for the fun cache!
Replaced the wet log.

I really liked this park. I recommend walking to the northern end - a great, quiet spot for a picnic. I entered the foliage a bit further along that I should have, but managed to locate the cache without any trouble. TFTC
A reasonably easy find. Needs a new log book as the one in the cache has got damp
What a cool hide. in a place that not many would know about. Tftc. Ps log is very damp.
Lovely little amble to GZ.- Some folks are luck with the reserve land on their back door! Little bit of a bush bash to get to where the GPS stated , but once there quick find. As previously mentioned it could do with TLC, log wet, some of it mushy. TFTC
I had a few hours to spare today to go and find a few caches. I decided to head west and wander around a few locations familiar and unfamiliar - well its all changed since I lived here over 25 years ago. This was the first cache I came to. It didn't take too long to find it. TFTC, Biggles.
A bit early for our puzzled cachers meeting nearby so we ducked down here to find this one.
Over this way for tonights Auckland event so thought I'd grab a few caches en route, would be rude not to really. Had boxing circuits and P T training this afternoon so arms and legs are sore which prevents any plans for long walks or strenuous activity, Park and grab only it is then!
Managed to work out the best driving route to this one and a nice little stroll across the squelchy grass to grab at the final. A bit wet inside, barely managed to scrawl name

Just got out of the car and down came the rain. Never mind, kw12 and I plodded through the wet grass and quickly found the cache. Its always interesting to discover these little hidden parks. Tftc
Went out this evening with yorkshirekiwi83 for a couple of hours caching out West. No problems with this one, once we found the access to the reserve. TFTC!
Vistra and I popped out this evening to collect a few more caches out west. Another quick find in another park, Thanks for placing these, you would otherwise never know there were so many little parks around. TFTC

A resident was sitting at the picnic table just inside the entrance and quizzed me about all the extra people coming into the park, especially at night with torches. He knew a little about geocaching and wished me well with my hunt.

Im glad I had Josie with me to deal with the big black dog that charged out from the houses. She kept him away from me while I made the find. The commotion caused a few neighbours to look over the fence and yell at me for disturbing the morning!! If the black dog hadnt...... Oh well. Thanks.
No barking dogs or anyone to push me in, all quiet on the western front. Good call not bringing geodog though. Nice easy find tftc.
Almost gave up as I couldnt find a way into the park. Tried originally from Preston Avenue with no luck then came down to the end of Daytona and found the way - easy to miss!
Once at gz, cache was a quick find - it appears many have been here before me!
Many thx for the hide!

Our 4 car - 5 cacher convoy headed from Henderson Valley back towards Daytona Strand. Parked and walked boldly past the barking dog (we could do so boldly because it was on the other side of a high fence ).
With 5 pairs of eyes looking, the cache didn't take long to find, for a group (FTF) with FMZ, Gorby, Rebel98 and rustynz.
Heading back across the wet grass we were joined by two large locals who had come to check out what had set the dog off barking at this early hour of the morning. They quickly realised that we were harmless and seemed happy to label us as 'Night Walkers.'

At the previous FTF, Gorby told us he had been down here but had not gone into the park due to a barking dog. We decided we'd all take another look though and having collected Rebel98 and Rustynz along the way we headed over and boldly walked into the reserve past the dog. It took us only a brief seearch before the cache was in hand for a joint FTF with kiwicouple, gorby, rebel and rusty. Then while we were signing the log I could here some shouting from nearby and on our way out we found a couple of large local lads who had come looking to see what was going on in the park and who was in there after midnight. They didn't seem to mind us and had a chat about "night walking" on the way back out... Nice spot for this cache and a good hide. {FTF} #1698 TFTC!!!
I came here for my first cache of the night but spotted the dog barking right next to the walkway so declined to go any further on my own so toddled off to do another FTF cache by KW12. Did that with some night walking utter-nutters then came back here with reinforcements: FMZ, kiwicouple and Rebel98 and rustynz! Now let's have a go. Tried to sneak past into the park but the flamin' dog wasn't having a bar of that! He let us know he was there! Got to the cache site and just as the cache was found, I slipped down the bank, just about taking rustynz with me into the swamp! That was fun. Then as we walked back, were greeted by some locals who were still up.. so said a dutiful hello and said we were night walkers, no one wanting to bother explaining what we were up to. Back at the cars FMZ contemplated about more new caches in Howick but that was us for the night - rather - early morning. FTF#51
A convoy of cars across the West, converged on this cache, for a group passing of the guarding dog! The GPS wanted me to go down into the mangroves, and whilst standing to the side so gorby could pass, gravity took over and he almost took me out.
Scrambling up the bank as the call went out that the cache was found, as I walked over to everyone I kicked a buried log. Thankfully no harm done, my shoes protected me.
After exiting GZ we were greeted by two locals, walking back to the cars they gave us name of "night-walkers". I think I will need to work on a cover story as to what we were up to. All the while the full moon shone bright in the sky, tonight it bought out the best in people
Thanks to kiwicouple, FMZ, gorby, and rebel98
