We started our beautiful journey through the South Island in Christchurch. Here we went on a big sightseeing tour and visited lots of caches. We then travelled via Lake Tapeko, Dansey Pass and Moeraki to Dunedin for the MEGA event. In Dunedin we visited the MEGA events and together with many other cachers we found many caches around Dunedin. A few days later, we travelled on through the Catlins to the southernmost part of Bluff. We then visited Te Anau and the tourist town of Queenstown. In Wanaka we went on another sightseeing tour until we reached the west coast via the Haast Pass. We hiked to Fox Glacier and Franz Josef Glacier. We continued along the west coast up to Westport, stopping at various sights along the way. Richmond and Nelson, the sunniest cities, were also on our list.A few days later we reached the east coast again in the wine region of Picton and Blenheim. After a few days, we travelled back to Christchurch via Kaikoura. We visited many geological sites, completed many adventure cahes and found many caches along the way.We travelled almost 3500 km and had so many great experiences. Many thanks to all the ownersTeam sissifalke
Today we decided to do the loop around Lake Aviemore and also walked up the Deep Stream Track. We managed to find 27 caches though had a couple of DNFs.We went round the lake in an anti clockwise leaving from Otematata. Quick find here having parked close byTFTCTim and Viv - ddm
Day 7: Up the WaitakiThe next bit of our journey brings us up the Waitaki on another fine but sometimes blustery day. We started the morning off wandering around Oamaru, and then drove up to visit the reservoirs and towns along the Waitaki. This proved to be yet another productive day of exploring and caching, so thanks for all the fun caches in lovely locations along the way. (End of the cut and paste bit) Heres the specific log for this cache: Popped over across the SH after getting the AL answer at the dam lookout. This was took slightly longer than expected as I was looking at all the wrong spots until some previous logs provided some needed inspiration and the cache was found. TFTC!
Located several caches whilst ‘exploring’ the Kurow-Aviemore area today. Started searching on the wrong side of the fence initially. On the correct side it was a reasonably quick find. Thanks for the history info. #6294. TFTC.
Cache was a quick find and I stayed here with my family about 35 plus years ago. We had a friend who worked for the NZED. I have taken photos to show him what it looks like now
Found with StreetWalkerNZ on day 2 of our Waitangi weekend to Kurow and surrounds. Today we are doing a loop trip, travelling the road east of Lake Aviemore, then up to Omarama for a late lunch back south to Kurow, finding 55 caches along the way.
We are thinking about a coffee back at our accommodation so happy to make a quick find. TFTC.

On a roadie round-trip from invercargill up through the pigroot, out in the back country onto this road. Heading to Omarama. Quick find thanks for the hint tftc
Found this one on my cyclocache ride up the A2O from Kurow to the Aviemore Dam and back. I lent my bike against the nearby gate and whilst I was replacing the cache the farmer arrives and asks me to shift my bike so he could access the farm. I wondere if he will ever investigate what I was doing? Thanks for the cache.
On our wY to Lake Tekapo today and not enough time to stop at every cache along the route so we were selective. This cache reminds us of simi,ar communities that no longer exist due to so called progress thanks for p,acing this cache here. A nice quick find. SL. TFTC.
An enjoyable weekend enjoying the scenic McKenzie area, and finding some great caches along the way. TFTC
We resumed our A2O ride at the parking lot of the dam wall nearby. The previous day it had been very windy, and I was glad to finish here and be picked up to be taken to our accommodation in Kurow.
This morning was fresh, but no wind. While we got ourselves ready with the right sort of clothing for starting off, and checking our snacks and water were on the bikes, I made a quick dash across the road to look for the cache.
No problems finding the container and adding my name to the log sheet. Then I raced back to the others so that we could commence this leg of our cycle journey.

Another quick find. On my way from Arrowtown to Kurow to pick up my niece and nephew for the holidays.

When I came down the other day from Twizel to Waimate I noticed that there were the odd one or three caches along the road. I couldn't stop as I had my snail shell attached. So today I decided to go back up to at least Benmore in my cachemobile.
There are a lot of these villages in the country.
Cheers for the cache.

[#4501] Today it rained the entire day, which is a pity when you are travelling through New Zealand on your holiday. It poured that hard that we even skipped getting out of the car searching for caches. Despite the rain we did find a few like this one. Travelling from Kaka Point to Twizel via de SH1 and SH83 offered the opportunity to find the old cache GC1B. While at Oamaru during lunch we visited a challenge cache. Along the SH83 we also found a few traditionals. Thanks to all cache owners for making our visit even more fun and interesting.

22018 Traveling through New Zealand to see nice people and places. Also to find some geocaches.
Today we went from Mount Cook to Dunedin. First, because it was sunny now, we visted the surrounding of mount Cook and the Tasman glacier. Then we drove alone and there were many caches along the road like the mighty oaks taril and many others, but a lot of them were on spots where I did not like to park a car. It were also to many to do them all, so we randomly stopped where it was safe and went for a search.
In Dunedin there are several Y2000 caches, and these we like specialy to visit. The Jasmer challenge is still not full..

Time to get out for a days caching and tidy up some ones we've missed or are new. Lovely fine winter day, GPS and phone at the ready. TFTC
Caching in this amazing coumtry is brilliant and safe. When we get back to Oz will have to remember to look out for snakes. Tftc:)

Found while on a weekend leave pass with Karma Reprint, heading up and down the Waitaki Valley with a few bike rides and wanders on the way. The maps show a few more streets up there but no more buildings. Cheers
A quick stop, find, and carry on. Cheers.
Off on a caching weekend with Kiwi Moose, to the Waitaki and slightly beyond. Great weather, great place to be, great company, and more than a few little plastic boxes.
Thanks to all of the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

On a mission from Rolleston to Tekapo, Twizel, Omarama, Kurow, Waimate and home again. Found over 100 caches, which was the goal for the day. A bit drizzly for a start but beautiful sunshine through the Mackenzie. Thanks to all the CO's and apologies for the cut and paste.
Quick find, never knew those buildings were there and we've camped Fisherman's bend 100s of times over the last 30 years. TFTC
Found with MrandMrsChosen1978 on our Waitangi Weekend road trip. We had ventured down from Omarama. Great views on a great day. Thanks for the hide.
Found by mrandmrschosen1978, with Granville86a, while on a road trip over Waitangi Weekend. We started off traveling through Central Otago and on up to the McKenzie Basin exploring Lake Ohau to Mt Cook one day, then we spent another day by heading down the Waitati Valley before heading back down south. As we explored these areas we found this cache along the way. Thank you for the placement its amazing how things change over the years
Turned left instead of right then saw where we should be. No trouble parking in front of the gates. TFTC
