I think this area could benefit from something far more exciting. Out with the old, in with the new.
A puzzle solved months ago, but today I decided to go and retrieve it. I hunted around for ages, and was just about to give up. I finally found it out in the open and log book too wet to log. Maintenance needed. Will send CO a direct message to advise where I rehid so you can fix log and revise correctly.
Day 23 of my travels. After leaving Tasmania and getting off the ferry this morning, it was another day tracking down a few target caches around Melbourne. Unfortunately I seem to have brought the Tasmanian weather with me and it was another day of intermittent showers and strong, cold winds.
This was another puzzle I had solved before leaving home in Adelaide in anticipation of my visit. It was a quick find at GZ. Log is a bit damp.
Thanks The Rusty's for the puzzle and the cache.

Well that was interesting. I learned things about crocodiles that I didn't know. I now feel like cuddling them, but I don't think I will.
Thanks Rusty's for this experience.

Thought we would take the dog for a quick walk between hail storms to get this one but got hailed on, on the way and way back but were able to successfully locate the cache so made the wet walk worthwhile
We enjoyed completing the research for this puzzle as we learnt a couple of things of which we were unaware. Today we went to look for this cache. It took quite some time to find because of the large amount of leaf/needle litter and bark. Eventually, after sifting the material within a metre of the trunk, we located the cache. After signing the log we replaced the cache off the ground in a common hide location. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks The Rusty's for the puzzle and the cache.
Was out caching tonight and solved this one (thanks for the education!) and found the little guy all safe and sound in his hiding spot. I never knew the incubation temp could dictate whether an animal was male or female - weird! TFTC
Found at 13:19
I solved this when it was released but hadn't had a chance to come look. I'm doing March Mystery Month so came out today. No games going on but the sprinklers were on and any string gusts sent water my way. I searched around for a while and was on the verge of giving up when I spotted the container out in the open a bit away. I replaced it with some cover.
Thanks The Rusty's for the cache.

Puzzle solved. Out for the caching day with crank1 on a perfect day. Good one! Thanks The Rusty's for the mystery cache.
I remember solving this one quite a while ago but had never been in the area to look for the cache at GZ. I was glad to see that the area was peaceful and not many people were around. It took far longer to find than it should have. I am clearly out of practice. The beast was tackled and an armoured army also defeated! TFTC.
#1253 - 11.30pm
Well that was a nice easy find... in the end!
But that was only after getting the Mini-Welders to do the maths for me - so far, so good.
Got a likely GZ and investigated. However, it wasn't our most focused attempt. The Mini-Welders' Mini-Bladders were having a detrimental effect.
First, the Minis became distracted. Then they lost interest. Then they distracted me... and then I lost interest.
The mission was aborted.
3 weeks later, I returned - alone. The wet weather and late hour ensured I had a peaceful search.
Oh nooooooo... after chasing a new release last night, I'd left my torches beside the bed! Who knows why... it's not like I was being prepared for a potential late night release in the ensuite!
Yes, well... anyway...
There I was at GZ tonight, and the only torch I had flickered on and off like a strobe light!!
Not good, lol.
I searched in vain until my eyes started twitching. I could handle getting wet from the raindrops gathered in the foliage. I could handle the big blowflies that were staying up late. I could handle the mosquitoes and the spiders... but an epileptic fit was not on the agenda!
So I reluctantly pulled out the phone light...
Nope, nothing there.
Or here.
Or even there...
Surely it wasn't... lol ... it WAS!!
As I said, it was a nice easy find (in the end!).
Final score -

Finally another small amount of breathing space in what has been an extremely busy year so what better to releive the stress than a few caches.
been here some time ago but there was a fence around the whole reserve and so I moved on, seems like the fence has been somewhat reduced in size and so today was a quick find, well, once I had navigated the obstacles with teeth...
**Thanks for placing this cache The Rustys**

Solved this one back in January, but due to the fencing off of the Reserve, we had trouble getting to GZ. Fathers Day was the perfect opportunity to return! Tftc Rusty's!
I solved this one a while back, and took a slight diversion to finally find it. Quite muddy and wet on the way in. The cache itself was spotted by the tail, poking out slightly from its den.
Nice cache design, all snug and dry. Thanks for the cache.

No luck with this cache today. Looks like there has been a lot of continuing work going on it the area. The GZ has also had part of a large gum fallen down on it.
Did love working thru the puzzle, and we love visiting the crocs at Ballarat Wildlife Park.
Thanks anyway

We found this cache today at 4:25pm as number 10 of 14 on our Boronia Bash. We have had this one solved for over 18 months but finally came past it today for the pick up. Glad to see that it is still here. Thanks from D & H B-A.
I think this was the first puzzle cache that I have solved. A nice easy one to help me get my head around puzzles. Knowing that the was a fence around GZ it turned into around to that I never quite got around to. Do I really want to jump the fence?? I have not cached all week, starting to go through withdrawal symptoms. It's time to do some of those caches close to home that I never seem to get around to doing. The walk to GZ was easier than I was expecting. There was a opening in the fence, I walk straight to GZ. Thanks for helping me start doing puzzle caches
Back at GZ and this time we had access! The fencing was still up in force, but this particular location was open. A short hunt, with geomissus suggesting I inspect something closer, and the cache was found. Great container Thanks Rustys.
This cache fell in to the "I really should get around to solving this one day". Well today was the day! We solved it in the car many miles away and formulated a co-ordinate for GZ, to pick up on the way home. We dove by and parked the car but was now confronted with miles of temporary fencing
We circulated the area looking for a way to get to the cache. We got as close as 20m but couldn't get in. The fencing contractor has been a bit overzealous in protecting the area. I did consider climbing over at one location but the cacti at the base, and barbed wire at the top, was simply asking for trouble! There were a couple of other places I tried to squeeze through but I was too fat. (which is to say, anyone except a toddler wouldn't be able to fit). So we'll leave this for another day.
Thanks Rustys for the puzzle. I'll thank you for the cache next visit

I had solved this puzzle a while ago but never seemed to be in the area. Today I had attended a local event and took the opportunity to look for it.
The obvious access point to the GZ is blocked so I had to improvise. Once at the GZ it was a quick find. TFTC.

Nice quick find at gz and a simple puzzle. It one problem of how to enter. After this added puzzle was solved we made our way and wrestled ourselves a log. Tftc!
I pointed to a little heart on the car GPS,"I wouldn't mind doing this one" I said, "it's on the way" I said. It wasn't a total lie, it IS on the way to somewhere but just not where we were headed. Nobody argued so I took that as agreement.
The GPS wanted me to drive along a pedestrian path, it was wide enough in parts but I thought better of it and parked in the next street. The girls were delighted at the little park but I was horrified at the massive pen that had been erected around our little mate. He must be dangerous!
My direct line distance had been tripled. Oh I can't be bothered. The kids had found a new lease of energy as they played so I decided to have a look for a short, easy way around. No dice. Oh far out (or similar words) I had come this far so off I went. It was actually a nice stroll, peaceful with no complaining children. The path had been cut by the croc pen so I found a detour. The numbers were counting down nicely but that pesky arrow had taken a sharp turn....into the temporary cage. Great, where is Mick Dundee when you need him?
I snuck into the cage ever so stealthily and pounced on the critter, wrestling with it until it surrendered the log. Panting, I got the log signed and replaced before old mate moved. I hid it and bolted.
After wiring the croc pen safely closed I returned to the playing kids who didn't even seem to know that I'd been gone. Their mother had watched my adventure and quietly asked if I had found it.
I pictured the headlines "goose takes on mighty killer and wins" yeah sure, what a load of croc!

Kids were a bit nervous about going behind the fence. This took us 30 minutes to find- much longer than it should have!
I had solved this one a while ago and so it was on the list for mystery month. Access turned out to be a little tricky at GZ, but ClanMagee found a way through the fence while I watched from afar. TFTC
Puzzle Month! number 16.
Funny story with this one. Last summer (or was it the one before), MisterMagee went for a long run, with MrsMagee joining him on a bike. We stopped under a tree for a rest before turning back and nearly sat on a strange geocache. I didn't have a pen, nor could I identify which cache it was.
Later on, diana8 and us decided to do a puzzle month challenge and this was one we solved. Heading out today to knock off a few solved ones in the eastern suburbs, MisterMagee noticed the location and realised which one he had found all those months ago!
Arriving at GZ, there are substantial works going on and the entire area (a very large area, in fact) has been fenced off. We were able to find a fence near the cachet that was slightly raised and could allow MisterMagee to shimmy under, but perhaps the CO should review whether this should be disabled for a little while?
Anyway, TFTC. Very happy to close my own personal mystery with this cache.

Miss 8 figired out the coords durin the week and we thought we would get this and a few others today before the rain set in (turned out to be a beautiful day!) Sent the kids under the fence and told them to watch while i climbed over as it might be really funny when i fall... to their dissapointment, i made it over unharmed. We navigated throught the squelchy mud singing 'we're going on a cache (bear) hunt' and located the cache fairly quickly. What a cutie! Tftc! A great puzzle for the kids as promised!
I really couldn't handle having this cache solved and not found! Inspired by the pole vaulting at the Rio games, I leapt the fence with grace. Once recovered from my fall I limped across to the GC. Peering aimlessly I started to get concerned that the construction at the site was causing more destruction and had taken the cache with it. Then out of the murky depths it appeared. Cheers! Now how do I get back over that fence...
I found this cache months ago, but I forgot my pen so couldn't log it. Today I'm back and the whole area is fenced off
There was no work going on, so I decided to jump the fence. Lovely creative cache!

GZ is fenced off, and although I was tempted to find a way in (there was no one around at all) I reluctantly resisted the temptation and left it for another day after they've finished making a mess of the oval and surrounds!... :-\ A Kookaburra even flew up to mock me - it didn't laugh, it only had to look down at me... (grr!)
I seem to have had the coordinates for this one on my phone for millennia, but I rarely find myself in the area. But I was today, and given that I needed to collect a couple more mysteries for the monthly challenge thingy I literally had no choice but to stop by. [Gawd, that sounds terrible; I was more enthusiastic than the preceding might suggest!] The puzzle was educational, I seem to recall. At GZ I was pleased to find, upon reading the hint, that I had immediately approached the right *gerr*. Couldn't see the blessed thing anywhere though. Scoured almost every bit of it before the "d'oh!" moment. Nice, apt cache!
I've only just noticed this instant that tweezers were actually mentioned in the description. I should have brought some of those. Predictably then, I spent more time coaxing the log out of its burrow than finding it in the first place. Colourful language was employed, I'm afraid. Thanks mercifully de-apostrophe'd The Rustys!

Fun easy puzzle, easy, muggle free location today. Nearby blackberry infestation needs dealing with. TFTC
Second find on the Rusty Run, a nice walk to GZ with not a soul around until I stopped and then I was surrounded by A dog, A girl on a bike , A dog owner, A mum peering over at the guy in the bush ! As I spotted the hide, I grabbed my phone did a lap of the bush and before I knew it the muggles had gone, and it was up to me alone to wrestle the croc! Thanks for the educative cache, some of the questions reminded me of my trip to a croc farm near port Douglas. Thanks

Found this one whilst on a caching run in the area this morning. Solved this one last night and learnt a thing or two about saltwater crocodiles Thanks for the hint. Loved the cache container and so did some 8 legged furry friends that had taken up residence inside so be careful!

Some how ended up on the wrong side of the creek yesterday during a previous solo attempt. Didn't think to check my coordinates (as it felt so right). It turn out I had made a typo which was pointed out to me by icefoxy who was very tempted to slap me silly for making such a mistake. So back this morning this time with better looking coordinates for a quick find and helped by the sharp eagles eyes of icefoxy. A pleasing find and a bonus spider nest in the container which made for some squeals while refitting the log in the container. A memorable cache for me....

Changed the log book today. 5 year old geo-son was very excited to see how many people had come to visit his crocodile.
Woo hoo I got another mystery done thanks the rustys who is this fine group of people and what's with there fascination with bugs.
Lovely little park. Few muggles. The sun is out for a good caching morning.

Well Rusty,s I was very sceptical "What crocodiles here in Boronia yeah right i'd like to see this" so we were out today Farthers Day placing a new hide when I turned to my Daughter and Wife and said "Lets go hunting for crocodiles in Boronia" after some strange looks they agreed, so seeing as I had already worked out the coords sometime ago we made sure we had our Croc hunting / Geo boots on and our special Boronia Croc hunting cammo pants on (see pic) and headed out to the Crocs Lair, as we drove up to the nearest car park we stepped out and thats when it hit me yes the smell in the air this is croc country, with some trepidation we started our walk to GZ and all I could think of is "what would I do if we actually found this creature this could be my last Farthers Day". We arrived at GZ and there it was the Lair, so I kissed my Wife and Daughter told them I loved them and in I went, I took the cover off the lair and wrestled the creature Steve Irwin style until he gave up the log, quickly signed the very full log that will need to be replaced, and quickly placed it back in his jaws and returned him to his lair all this without a scratch and all 10 fingers in tact, Rusty's I will never be sceptical of you again the Crocodilius Bayronsin does exist BEWARE!!!!!!!!

Mystery Month Challenge find # 11
Today I headed out with biggles1024 to start our mission to qualify for the Mystery Month Challenge,
we had been working on a few puzzles and putting them into the bank to collect at a later date, so this is the month and now we are off and running.
This one was on the list, so we made our way to the carpark and then had a short walk to GZ, which was circled and then it was in for the find. We didn't know what to expect but lucky for us the little critter was found quickly, the log was signed and we were on our way to the next.
Thanks to The Rusty's for placing this cache.

Find #2229
Today, Stemicmitsar and I headed out to find a number of Mystery caches in order to start qualifying for the Mystery Month Challenge Cache and also grab a few traditionals and multis along the way. Micros in gardens or bush settings are not one of my favourite types of hides but this one was different. Found quickly by Steve and in a place I didn't think a micro would be. It was with much relief that we signed the log.
Thank-you to The Rusty's for placing this geocache

Found the information and solved the puzzle easily enough. There was a muggle and child near GZ but they moved on for an easy find.
Checked the website to search for the answers and the calculated coordinates were correct. We quickly found the item in question and were able to sign the log. TFTC
I am attempting to qualify for the [ Mystery Cache Monthly Challenge (GC5MTHY)](http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC5MTHY_mystery-cache-monthly-challenge?guid=d6d1b5a5-f77c-4e7f-9e08-3126adab0029) by finding 31 mystery/puzzle caches this month. This was #15 of the 31 mystery/puzzle caches that I needed for the month.
I found the required numbers at the given website. I then used the formula to calculate the cache co-ords and they seemed to look like they were in a good hiding location on google maps. [^] I parked in a nearby street and had a lovely walk to my calculated GZ. No muggles around this arvo, not even on the nearby playground. After a brief search I found the scary croc, which I had a bit of a wrestle with before signing the log at 4:15 pm. TNLN.
Thanks The Rusty's for an educational puzzle and for a creative and fun cache. I saw a few croc near Cairns about a year ago but never expected one in suburban Boronia.

A nice easy puzzle cache close to home, just the thing to finish my Geocaching Roadtrip. After working out the coordinates, off I went to find gz. As I approached, the most likely hide was easy to spot, sure enough, there was the savage beast right before my eyes. I managed to wrestle the log away from the monster with barely a scratch, but it was close. Log signed, I returned it to its vicious caretaker, ready for the next unwary cacher who comes along. I am off home now for a bex and a lie down to recover from this daunting experience. Thanks for bringing me here and thanks for the cache.
Found with Davidman and Mansgirl as part of our quest for Roadtrip 2015. I solved all the questions while waiting for my lift to arrive this morning and final location was sorted out and arrived at nice and easily.

MrsThommo had solved this cache earlier, so we were hoping for a quick find today. We parked and headed to GZ and came up against over grown bushes and a ditch Sigh!

I solved the puzzle a few days back, thank you for an informative puzzle we are big fans of a toothy friends. We approached GZ from the wrong side but MS quickly found a crossing and we were soon on a croc hunt. Geo daughter made the find and was very careful not to get bitten.
We all thought it was cute.
Well done! We are down on fav points at the moment if we had some this would prob get one.

Solved this morning with the geokids help. Popped out to do the cache for my calendar. No tweezer required. Nice and accurate. Watch out for muggle dog landmine nearby. TFTC.
Found this one today on my break my caching hiatus day. I was targeting some puzzle caches that I had soled to complete a NZ challenge cache I am currently doing. This was the first cache of 3 today. This one I saw when I was planning today and thought that looks doable. It took me two goes to get the correct answer as I had made a couple of calculation errors the first time. I then parked on the wrong side of the creek to find this one luckily there was an available and not too wet shortcut! Quick find in the third place I looked. I loved the cache container.
Thanks for the cache The Rusty's.

The weather was fine this morning and I was keen to find another puzzle, so out I went. At Gz I soon located the topical cache. Thanks The Rusty's.

I solves this one a short while back and had some spare time today so made my way to GZ. I took the wrong path then realised my error and was soon at the cache. I was hoping the cammo was what it was so for that I am giving a favorite point. Thanks to The Rusty's for the cache.
Had this one solved a little while ago. Was in the area today collecting a few so decided to grab this one. i really liked the hide and this was my 200th find. tftc
Headed out after work tonight to pickup 3 puzzles I planned to target and managed to get all 3 just before it got dark.
This puzzle worked out first try after I found the required information. Parked in a deserted car park tonight and after a short walk the really cool cache was found. A favourite from me.
Thanks The Rusty's for the cache, the puzzle the hunt and the fun.

Suscoe's 10th find of 27 for today as we wandered the streets in the east.
It was a cloudy day mostly with some drizzle early.
Thanks to The Rusty's for placing this cache here.
Did the research last evening and the cache was found as expected, sitting waiting patiently for some one to arrive.

On way to finish off a challenge that 88andy88 has been working on. Thought we'd stop by and finalise this one.
Nice park for a small walk. Initially looked in the wrong place until gps settled down, then bang on it. Cute!
(Beware swooping magpies)

Nice smile on the croc. 1st cache for the day with OzHockeyChick and a perfect day out walking solving a few and gaining a few . Tftc
The gps went a little nuts for a while, but luckily I knew roughly with the map where to go. Sat down to think about it whilst muggles totted by. A couple of minutes later cache was in hand. Sure enough, eventually able to read coords, and they were smack on.
Needed a Mystery Cache for PI day, so this was it. Solved and found. Thanks to the Rusty's for a snappy cache.
With today being March 14th I took my 5 month old geodaughter out to find her first mystery cache. We both loved it.

After attending a Pi day event the next thing I needed was to find a Mystery cache to claim the other souvenir. Having solved this one a while ago I was waiting for the right opportunity to grab it and today was as good as any. No real trouble find the cache and seems to be in good condition. After returning it I let my daughter have a play on the playground where we bumped into whyt knight and family who also had the intention of grabbing this cache for today. Thanks The Rusty's
We helped the Rusty's test this cache before it was published by completing the questions and then visiting the cache to check it matched the coords we came up with. So it wasn't a gimme - we just did this before it was published! We thought we'd leave it while to log . . . Today Hera and the youngest kid set out to write our name in the log. Geokid 3 was so thrilled to make the find all by himself. He was slightly grossed out by the snails attached to the cache container though!
This really is a great cache to do with kids - the older ones can answer the questions and the younger ones get the thrill of a really fun cache container. Owen was making up all kinds of games with the container while I signed the log. He was very reluctant to put it back actually!

Found with theleefamily99. Geokid and I had worked on the coordinates quite a while ago, but never actually went out to find. Felt like a run this morning so grabbed coords, runners, geokid, theleefamily99, and off we went. V novel cache, kids enjoyed the find.
One close by to fill the calendar with on a nice day in sunny melbs. Worked out the clues (researched crocs) in the morning and grabbed this one on my lunch break. Had to dodge dog walkers and unnecessary crossed the dry creek bed but otherwise a quick find. Very cool container - tftc
Rebel Acts and I caught up for an easterly caching run for the morning. This is one we found today. Thanks.
Found while out with Trailrunning on another caching adventure. Crikey Thanks for the cache Mate.
Well, first time we came, the co-ords were not close enough. The second time, it rained and we ran for the car. The third time and we were getting closer, but geo-kid getting bored defeated us. Decided to give it one more try, and with a little help with a FAF, found what we were looking for! Last chance before heading for home (Qld), so very lucky. Thanks for the Fun cache The Rusty's!
My son and I worked together to figure out the clues, and learned a lot about freshies in the process! Then we went in search of the cache. Our coords led us straight to the cache and we were delighted with the container. So cute! We wrestled the log out of the mouth of the beast and signed as 2TF. A really well thought out cache that is great for kids. Thanks a lot, The Rusty's.

I was working in my garden at home when I felt my phone buzz. Awesome, some new caches being published. It was time for a break anyway, so I had a look and this one was closest. I sat down and had a look at the puzzle.... Yes I can do this. Ten minutes later, I was in the car on the way to GZ. As I approached, the heart was pumping, would it be a FTF? There were a few cars around with people just siting unaware there was a FTF up for grabs I found the very clever container quick enough mut was without an extraction tool. I manufactured one out of nature, opened up the log and BINGO, a FTF for me.
Thanks to The Rusty's for placing this cache and the fun puzzle that went along with it.
