This cache has been a problem for some time, time to put it to bed. A real shame, it's a great spot.
Thanks to all the finders and to the geocachers that have helped to maintain it over the years.
I am sorry to see it go.

It appears the original hint item has been removed. Area very overgrown, needs to be checked by CO.
Our second DNF in an unfortunate streak. Nothing close by jumping out as a hiding spot. Needs a visit from the CO.
It would appear that the local council have carried out some works around the area, in doing so have destroyed the hide.
Currently I'm in Queensland at the moment and unable to check on, also the cacher that was looking after it has either quit or is not active anymore.
Could someone*the next cacher,* please replace the container and logbook, message me or post the new coords and all will be good.
Thanks in advance for your help
Cheers Keith

There is no longer any tree close to the tank, all that we found here was a lot of debris from a felled tree and cutty grass.
Found on an evening walk. Sunset on the bay in 20 minutes. One of our favourite spots.
1:15:00 PM. Took a bit of hunting for this one but in the end we found it. Log signed. Loved the bay here, such a beautiful area. Thanks Sweet-Sour for the cache.
Anniversary weekend saw us head to Omana for a few days of camping and caching with KirsTim and yorkshirekiwi83. Today we headed for a couple of caches out in Beachlands in the sweltering heat. The tree here has been chopped down into many many pieces, so it took some digging to retrieve the cache. We moved it to a more secure location, as we feel the bits of the tree will probably be removed soon, along with the cache container, if it wasn't moved. It's now closer to the tank, in some roots of another tree. Thanks for the hide.
Anniversary weekend and we decided to copy last year and head back to Omana Regional park campsite with Vamber & Yorkshirekiwi83. Today we tackled Beachlands area and it was stinking hot so glad to be popping in and out of the car. We searched quite a while for this, and nearly gave up due to a tree nearby had been cut down. But we were unwilling to give up so tried searching in the tree debris and there is was!! Good find! We hid under some tree roots nearby as we thought the tree debris would be removed at some point. Signed the log as KKKT. Thanks
Nice sized cache to leave a travel bug in that wants to visit warm beaches. Definitely a very warm day today beside this beautiful beach.
A nice day to pick up some geocaches, enjoyed the sunshine and the fresh air, thanks for placing this cache
What an awesome little beach this, a grassy hill loooking over it and a cache to boot! I wouldn't say though, that the cache is 'behind' the water tank, in fact it's several meters away but after an extended search then realising just where the cache would probably be, I had to sit and wait until a little girl stopped doing roley-poley's down the grass bank. Once the parents had taken her away I was able to do a search and came up with the goodies. Signed myself in as I watched the sun going down, and thankfully not so hot now, then carried along my way. Last cache for the day.
Found on a little tour of Beachlands before a BBQ this evening. Watch out, someone has left a 3-pronged fish hook in the cache. I had nowhere to dispose of it with three kids in my car and no suitable container so it's still there! Nice interlude. Tftc.
Quick find this time, despite a lot of workers in the carpark, thankfully just out of sight.

Last full day in Auckland before heading home to Nelson tomorrow. Decided to head out in this direction to find a few caches. This one took a while to find. The GPS and hint seemed to disagree and when I checked a few logs I noted that others have had issues with this cache. I persisted and finally found the cache. Take great care around where the cache is hidden as there are some pieces of wood with nails sticking out of them hidden in the undergrowth that could easily go through a child's (or unwary adult's) foot. TFTC, Biggles.
A lot of people passed this spot on the road below but no problem searching for the cache.
**Blinkies**
**Blinkies**
We rummaged around for a while before spotting the container. Fortunately there weren't a lot of muggles around so no stealth was required. Container and contents are in good condition. TFTC.
Out and about with TF and we found 30+ caches today with no DNF's. We had noted the last two DNF's on this cache but we were on such a roll today we thought we would give it a shot. Nothing at where both our GPS's were pointing and gave it a really good go. Headed back to the car and spotted another potential hiding spot albeit at least 20m away from posted co-ords. TF had a look and BINGO there it was. We agreed that the cache had probably been moved by a well meaning cacher but this would account for the difficulties that people have experienced in finding it. Although we would not normally do this we moved the cache to exactly where the GPS was pointing and matching the hint. Hope this is ok. TFTC
We had a rummage before finding the cache a good distance from where the GPS said it should be and where the hint suggested was the logical place. See TW's log for the details. Thanks.
Either it's time for a white cane or this one is missing. Theres a fair bit of garden rubbish been dumped at GZ, might be how it was spotted.
Out and about today picking up specific caches for my current geolicence. This was the third find of the day and it took quite a bit of hunting and scrambling around in bushes... much to the joy of the mozzies munching on me but I was determined not to give up and finally spotted it, TFTC!
Looked in several places for this before getting to the right spot. Nice little hiding place. Cache is in really good condition. TFTC.
This one gave me trouble on a previous visit. I noticed that someone else found it recently, so I figured that might make it easier to find. It didn't. You have to figure out which direction to approach for the hint to be correct. TFTC.
Out and about today enjoying the sunny day and getting a few cache finds. Nice hide here. SL. TFTC.
I kooked for this one previously without sucess. Nice to put a smiley face here today. It was a long stetch for the cache.
Been looking at this one dice we became premium a mo th or so back and finally got it tdtc

After a SOS from the CO have replaced this with a new cache, hoping it will last otherwise may have to change hiding location. Happy caching!
Out with some caching buddies for the evening (Sherlock the Puppy and Socialbizguy), with the mission being to find all of the Beachlands caches.
I knew that this cache had gone missing, and that NZTravellers were replacing it on behalf of the COs, who were overseas (in fact, I had admired the replacement cache at NZTravellers' house the night before!!! So, as I had been in touch with NZTravellers this evening, when they said that they were heading out to replace this cache, we thought we would meet them there, since we were at the next cache along, and then we could find it after they had replaced it.
Pulled up near GZ, and while Sherlock the puppy performed some fancy car maneuvers before parking the car, socialbizguy and I jumped out and headed up to meet them. Mrs NZTravellers was just returning from hiding the cache, so we sent socialbizguy straight in. A fair bit of laughter ensued at the view of socialbizguy retrieving the cache (we even made him stay still for longer than necessary while taking a photo.... although that didn't take long, we were just having fun laughing at him!!! ) . Cache was retrieved, we signed the nice new log, and admired the replacement cache container (great job, NZTravellers!!!)
After a brief chitchat, we were off on our way to the next cache!!!
Thanks heaps for the replacement NZTravellers.... so nice that people like you step up and keep caches like this going, in order that they are not lost!!!

I think that this is MIA. The problem is I'm in Queensland, and the cacher that was looking after it has given the game away or is not active anymore, could someone please replace the container and logbook. This would be greatly appreciated.

We were caching with CODEhill who had already found this cache previously but even with 6 of us looking (4 of them having previously found it) we came out empty handed.
TFTC. Came prepared with gloves and a stick. It paid off. it pays to read previous logs eh! The tree you talk off has perfect hidey holes under it, but that's not where the cache is. Perhaps it was re-positioned to where I found it?
Not my favourite stuff to hunt through for a cache in but given its size I persevered and was eventually rewarded.
Another great find on a geocaching holiday in the area.
Thanks for setting up this cache.
Nice to get this one found quickly today - OUCH!
Why would anyone hide a cache in this?
SL

Was out caching in the area with Ric today . Came to this gorgeous bay with a lovely fenced playground I'd love to bring my youngest grand daughter to !
Was a bit tricky hunting in the cutty grass ,,,,,,but finally Ric found it ! I'm sure I'd looked round there ! His walking stick helped in the find !
Thanks for bringing us here !

A stunning little spot to visit. We cast about for a while, before hitting the jackpot. Tftc.
This one was a nightmare to find as the hint doesn't quite relate to the location of the cache. Got quite scratched up on the cutty grass and had to use a TAF to get another hint. In the end, we found it in the last place we thought it would be. We suggest the hint needs an update, TFTC
Out and about this afternoon for a spot of after work caching. Headed out east to avoid the holiday traffic. This hide took longer to uncover than I was expecting. But persistence paid off an the classic container was uncovered. Not sure if it is in the place the hint referred to. I didn't see the geocoin in the cache. Anyway, cheers for the cache placement.
Out walking Beachlands to Omana and return today so started with this cache in the dark. 20mins later we learned why we so rarely cache when we cant see, even with 2 torches! The hint and GZ didn't match up for us, so we widened the search area. Nope, still no luck, time to keep walking over to Omana. Sent an SOS txt for help.
The help came back and even with that hint, we felt we had "been there...." So after we had done the Omana caches we walked back to see if we could find this cache. It had just started to rain so on went the heavy jacket, still not really sure where we would search next. I take 2 steps "in there", when AV2 says we were being watched and just as I retreated from GZ I spotted the cache. Phew. Strangely not anywhere near where the hint we had been givem. So unsure if it has been moved.
Anyway, hurriedly signed the cache and left the area.
TFTC, glad we turned this into a smiley.

Nice quick easy find whilst out for an ice cream and a stroll after attending the National Cub Day activities at Omana Park. TFTC.
Wow!! what a great cache and a TB. too. The good clue made for an easy find, just a little difficult to retrieve. S.L. TFTC. and Greetings from England.
Nice cache. Left a tb

Was out with some other cachers prior to the movie in the park tonight. Got a few strange looks from some muggles as the group ascended the hill but never mind as we were on a mission. Almost lost both my boys to this awesome little spot!
Cache was easily located but a little harder for them to retrieve so an adult had to step in to help.
Thanks for the cache.

Keylev had organised a group of us to meet in this area and find some caches before having takeaways and watching a movie in the park at Maraetai in the evening. After meeting at the regional parks carpark down the road we decided to drive in convoy around some of the beachlands caches.
The muggles in the area were probably a bit confused as to why 3 car loads of people decsended on the area, walked briefly up the hill and then left again, but we quckly spotted the cache and the kids couldnt get it out of its hole, so I popped in and pulled it out from its spot so we could sign it. Was in the area with a bunch of other cachers and their families.
I got delayed on this one, as one of the kids didn't see a hole in the ground that was covered by grass, so while she was running there her foot found the hole. Thankfully no injuries.
The kids found the cache, and they really enjoyed this one.
Cheers

Caching today with a group collecting caches in Beachlands prior to the movie in the park at Maraetai.
The group of muggles we passed on the way up the hill were briefly vocal in their confusion about what we might have been up to, but then didn't take much notice. The cache hiding place appeared to swallow the little people as they searched and found the cache, but it took Yorkshirekiwi83 to wriggle it from its hiding place. Unfortunately one of the group turned her ankle in a well covered hole in the hill on the way up, but she soldiered on for the rest of the afternoon.

This being a premium cache some of the group couldn't log this electronicly but I believe they signed the log book in hast as there was a high muggler count around this GZ.
Luckily direct view was obscured...
Nice hide.

Thanks for the cache.
Was sitting at working watching all the notifications come up thinking they were all to far away to go for, but then this one popped up and just had to get the "backyard" cache! Approached GZ and met Bach57 coming from the other direction, nice to finally meet a local cacher! Team work prevailed and despite numerous mozzie bites the log was signed for a joint (FTF)! TFTC
FTF meet NZ travellers at the cache. Took a bit of getting out and are cover in bites when retrieving the cache (and returning it). Love the container and thanks for the FTF little present. Heaps of room in this one for swag.
