I have been Geocaching for the last year as part of team Dromaniax. We have enjoyed the Geocaching caching around a lot of Victoria in that time. From our first trip up to the Murray River, the next trip to Lake Eildon and the area around Buxton, an epic trip to the Little Desert to attack the This is SA series, then a great trip with our father to the High Country in Victoria, a trip to the Mornington Peninsula and a trip to the Albury-Hume Reservoir area.

I finally decided to set up my own account and am claiming all the caches I have found as part of Dromaniax.

Thank you for this Traditional cache Beanslayr.

About to give up on it as we were running out of light, then Mrs 4wd stumbled upon it in a place I didn't think to look. Great views and a great hide. Tftc

What an incredible drive up to this cache. The views changed constantly, and the billabongs we passed were full. There were plenty of Sulphur Crested Cockatoos squawking in the trees, and we saw an echidna on our drive. We arrived at GZ, and it took us around ten minutes to locate the cache. There are many likely hiding spots, but it was almost by accident that we found the cache. We noticed that we were the second lot of cachers to find this cache today on opening the logbook. This cache has assisted us in completing another challenge cache. The cache is in excellent condition. Thank you for this cache Beanslayr.

I think it depends on what time of the year you come and search for this cache. On certain times, it can be tricky. I assure you it is there, but you do have to take particular care if the season has been so good. If I wasn't with a cacher who had found it before, it would have taken me alot longer, and I may have missed it entirely Smile.

No luck today, sadly

Met up with RoamingHowie to find some caches in an area neither of us had explored.
After a bit of a scramble and being stung/bitten by the nearby greenery, I uncovered the sneaky hide. We admired the great views from here.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache, Beanslayr

Heading away for a few days camping. Met up enroute for a morning of caching with OZHockeyChick before heading off to reach camp.

After the previous DNF we weren’t sure what to find. Exploring the broad area we weren’t coming up with any goods other than lots of stings and scratches (is that stinging nettle or something similar?). We were about to give up when OHC located the cache. It was much simpler than first thought. Nice views from this spot.

Thanks Beanslayr for the cache.

My mission today is to fill in a few holes in my "hidden date" calendar. [^]
Now with the help of this cache I can finally scratch the 25th of December off my list. Razz
Added bonus here are almost 9 months unloved, its my first "Christmas cache" which helps with another challenge cache I'm working on and....
A fun drive with awesome views on a road I would otherwise never have travelled. I cant wait to bring my friends back along here one day to share the experience. [^]

I know Jacks Falls just down the road (where I visited next) gets all the love, but my fav point lands on this cache that brought me here. Big Grin
TFTC Beanslayr. Cool

The cache was found clean and dry in good condition and I signed the log with sanitised hands. [8)]

Had no luck on this road but don't care as the area was so rewarding. Disturbed a wombat here. Lots of wombat poo and a cow pat of all things, how that got here I do not know

After enjoying some fermetend grains and pizza for dinner we noticed the golden suinlight on the hills and decided to head for higher ground for a better view. Surely a cache with the name lookout was the best option nto find a better view? Alas we arrived to find the sun was already too low in the sky and was blocked by an intervening hill. None the less we located the cache before beating a retreat to the Grand gCAV and back to our overnight abode.

We had no difficulty in locating this cache and with our name added to the logbook, we continued on our way [^]

Thank you Beanslayr for having placed the cache and maintaining it for everyone to enjoy Cool

Finally a sunny day ... so Maximus1978 & I decided it was time for another adventure ... as soon as we opened the car doors, we were hit with icy wind ... oh my .. but it didn't deter us from the mission! ... after a little exploring - the gps didn't like this place much and kept spinning around - we had the cache in hand and log signed! TFTC and bringing us here!

Up this way to do some fishing for the next month. Taking in the Goulburn, Kiewa, Mitta and Omeo Valleys. Focus is mainly on fishing, but any cache is likely to be nabbed along the way.

We are unable to log details when on the move so have used "Log Later" as a filler till we return.

Thanks for your patience and the cache. Beanslayr TNLN

I was on the way from Caveat down to Melbourne today, and seeing as i had the whole day to make the trip, i took the opportunity to turn a 2 hour trip into a 6 hour one.

This cache took me quite a while. At first, i thought that it wasn't there, as I found what looked like an excellent hide with nothing in it. I referred to a few logs, which encouraged me to look a little longer. It seems to me that I'm not the only one who has spent a bit of time rummaging around here.

Thanks for bringing me to this great spot, for a great view. TFTC

We weren't sure what to expect here as we drove up from Molesworth, but some great views and granite to be seen along this road.

Another quick easy find as we meander our way though this countryside we've never seen before. Thanks for this placement Beanslayr.

I always like driving up the maroondah hwy, through this area, the scenery is gorgeous. Today I ventured up this side road, the views are well worth the excursion off the hwy. When Faulksi and I arrived at GZ we scrambled down to the fence and then scratched around, in amongst the rocks until I had the cache in hand. A good hiding place at a great lookout. Thanks Beanslayr. Another day getting to know the side roads, I love this past time.

Love this area. I have spent many years nearby and caching continues to show me places I never knew existed. Thanks again Beanslayr for luring us of the couch.

Wow! What a great view from all along this road, Granite boulder strewn hills is my all time favourite kind of scenery, so I have been in heaven around here. Big Grin Once at gz we had 2 phones giving excellent steady readings, in 2 completely different places, which both turned to be completely wrong. Geoturtle37 put a nice gash in her foot when she lost her footing, and I managed to find a stinging nettle, but after a good 15 20 minutes I managed to find the cache at last. Nice hide, very well done, it certainly made us work for the reward. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.

So, Saturday morning saw me up at stupid o'clock and driving from Melbourne to meet up with manzie in Molesworth at the crack of dawn to collect the nearby FTF. Nothing like a bit of spontaneity in life! After securing FTF further up the road, it was time to collect the caches on the return trip. Manzie had this cache in hand after a short search, and after a short pause to admire the surrounding land, we were on our way again back to Molesworth, where we then went our separate ways, and I spent the rest of the day caching my way back to Melbourne. TFTC!

Travelling home to Vermont from a relaxing weekend away in Goughs Bay and its time for a cache or two.
Turned off the highway onto a dirt road that I had often wonder about, where does that go? Well, quite a pleasant valley view from this road as we climbed gently up the hill. Arrived at the cache site for a quick find but pause a while with MuggleWifeDoes to enjoy the view.
Thanks for placing this cache Beanslayr

Find #1447 logged at GZ at 2:29pm, will update shortly.... T4TC Beanslayr!

On the way to Buller for an event, I am glad I took the time to venture up this road. This cache took me a bit of time to find. I didn't expect to finally find it by stepping on it.

{ftf} When I saw a couple of new caches published I almost headed straight, but the idea of climbing around the waterfall in the dark didn't fill me with confidence so I waited till morning. Glad I did, as I had to look around for an easy way down to where I thought the cache was. Thankfully there is a longer but easier approach and I was soon standing at GZ and saw the likely hide instantly. I was very pleased that waiting till the next day had not lost the opportunity for FTF and so with a smile I logged the blank page. Thanks Beanslayr for another great spot.
