#6182I was on my way to Tamworth with my mate for a couple of nights. Our purpose was the visit AgQuip in Gunnedah.Stopped along the way to find a few caches and this was one of them. Thanks for the geo-fun.
Nice find.. And the kids absolutely love the ones that they can trade items.
The first cache on a road trip to Muswellbrook with 2pods. A great start to the day. Left little peg #1 in the cache. TFTC!
Logged it!! Be careful when getting back onto highway, traffic at 100k coming up hill TFTC
Find# 11212Nice easy find.Parked right in front of the sign in our "Rok"TFTC Rock_Dok 14 May 2024
We set out for Scone on this wet day seeking out some labcaches and anything else that took our fancy. We had to stop here as it was so close to the highway. A quick find ensued and we were back on the road within minutes. Thanks Rock_Dok for the placement.
I was heading north and decided to stop in and grab this cache.Thankfully, no cars were about while I stopped. I soon spotted the prize and signed the log. It was in good condition. A great little excuse for a stop. TFTC Rock Dok
Found It!
A quick find here for my first cache in the Muswellbrook Shire!

Day 3 of our trip to The Great Cattle Dog Muster in Muswellbrook…
Having left my partner and our Australian Stumpy Tailed Cattle Dogs at the Muster, PirateLinda and I have made the pilgrimage to Frying Pan and are returning to Muswellbrook, collecting random, and not so random caches along the way…
The final find of the day and I was busy following Geepers into the “very snakey” grass when PirateLinda (with tone) asked “is this it?”
Thanks Rock_Dok happy to show this cache a little love today…

Found with Peppa.
We are in the area for The Great Australian Cattle Dog Muster.
Yesterday was all about the dogs. Today is all about the caches
Peppa was off rummaging around in the bushes. I stood like a good Pointer saying "Is this it?"
Thanks for the series

Found a spot off the road a bit to stop and walked a little up to the sign, foinding it easily and quickly. A nice easy one, signed and placed back in its spot.
Unfortunately, some people have been placing rubbish inside the cache, so have cleaned it out a bit and left a little something behind. Have fun hunting.

Thanks Roc Doc, FP for another creative cache, some pretty dodgy swag here though.
Of to add six counties to my list today. Might as well get number four as soon as I enter the shire. Thanks again Rock Dok
Sailed past this one the first time, and had to locate somewhere to turn around twice to get back to GZ; at least once there it was quick find. Thanks Rock Dok for the cache
It's great to see a little bit of sunshine after so many days of heavy rain so we decided to spend the morning hunting down adventure labs and anything else that popped up on screen that looked dry enough to get to.
We haven't been to Muswellbrook for quite awhile and were looking forward to seeing what changes had occurred and although there were a few they weren't as drastic as some other areas that we have revisited. Musswellbrook seems to have kept it's old school charm.
We pulled up here to try our luck and quite quickly found the impressive cache hide that maybe a lot harder to find in a different location so we were quite happy that you chose here.
Once we added our name to the log we retuned everything as it was and continued along merrily.

Streak Day #2726 - Stopped by with Dave8153 for a quick find on way to Tamworth. TFTC
Thanks for the cache heading north west on a caching Holiday and to see the grandies adding another to the total
Aquilus1 and myself have been itching to finish the task we gave ourselves a year back of completing the counties of NSW... ALL. OF. THEM. So, while we have been long planning our next flight into Armidale with a big loop, the lockdown then Qantas cutting back flights we had to bring forward what was always planned to be the last trip forward.
As always on these county trips we have one eye on lots of little smaller targets, such as Ausmer, sizes, oldies in general and cool types. If you are reading this log, then this cache made the grade in some way.
We drove from Canberra through Sydney, collecting the 1 counties Aquilus1 needed there before heading on to the Hunter region where 7 counties awaited us.
Originally the plan had been to try to get to Lake Mac or Newcastle on the first day, but Sydney caching is just so slow with the traffic and crap roads, so in the end after an aborted night cache off the M1 (we forgot to bring a TV remote!!) we turned around and went back to Hornsby as there were motels down there with 2 vacancies.... as always, we got the last 2 rooms!
The second day actually got us further than we expected, 50m into Muswellbrook before turning around and getting to Dungog (what an Aussie name... love it), we managed to ring ahead and secure the last 2 rooms (again!) for $55 each. While normally you get what you pay for I had the best night sleep, and its hard to beat having dinner, then drinks, then going upstairs to sleep... that works! The local bakery also had a specialty of cheese & bacon topped sausage rolls (and I mean LOTS of cheese & bacon) so, when in Rome, we sampled this and it was as great and slimming as it sounds.
The highlight of the trip would be the cache 'Frying Pan', the oldest container cache in Australia and such a beautiful spot...love white buckets buried in the ground!
After that it was essentially just turning around and heading back to Canberra, with a slight detour to grab Sydney Geocache Relocated. All in all, three year 2000 caches, three or four year 2001 and a sprinkling of 2002 to 2006 here and there. Great trip, leaves us with 106 NSW counties ticked off, just one trip left to complete NSW, hurry up Qantas and start flying again.

A county shire find here, we drove 85km to find THIS cache! Was interesting to see so many pits and power stations on the way. Enjoyed the drive, TFTC!
Trip details...
With GreyHams we continued onwards with our NSW counties trip, started as a need to collect a few to make up some missing numbers to qualify for a challenge... ended that we wanted ALL. OF. THEM!!! This wasn't the planned trip we thought was next but with no flights it was our plan B and still a needed one any way.
The focus was on the 7 counties around the Hunter region, however I did have 11 North Sydney counties I was keen to collect. GreyHams was gracious enough to help me get them despite having them already. He also was the best navigator to assist me to drive through the crazy of Sydney traffic! Planner, Navigator, finder, signer... yep, he does it all!!!
This trip was about quality, counties, oldies, sizes, interesting, type. If your cache made it to our list then it was one of these. We found three 2000 caches and despite living so close I finally found Lane Cove, my first Australian 2000 cache and also my 20th.
Sydney caching took its toll and the day got away from us. We made the move to return to Hornsby and luckily scored the last 2 rooms, as we often do! Placed us well though to continue with a few counties close by before continuing on to the start of the needed 7 around the Hunter way. Kurri Kurri murals also led to a great lunch at the local chippery, the fish burger was just the thing! It has to be said that the bats up this way are of some impressive size, good enough to be off the roads before night fall and saw us stopping in Dungog for the night.
Dungog was chosen as it was close to 'frying pan' an awesome 2000 cache in a stunning location for the next morning. It turning out to be a great place which was a massive bonus. Again we managed to last two rooms upstairs at the local Hotel. Great priced rooms, great food and super convenient. Beautiful countryside around this quaint town and the local bakery we stopped at for breakfast is a must.
Rain the last morning didn't slow us too much, even made for the trip out to Frying pan in the morning as a more beautiful experience with everything all wet. Loved the evidence of the old logging history as we made our way through the area and then it was time to head back to home. Never a direct route though it was very full and enjoyable day as we continued through to the last of the caches we had time for along the way.
Many thanks for you cache that led us on our journey, another counties trip ticked off but another great trip it was!

20,332. Found with albida33 during a meander up to and around the Tamworth and Armidale regions.
After heading off early this morning we were cherry-picking caches heading towards Scone for the night. This was the next stop and find of the trip. A quick walk to GZ for the find.

Tamworth and Amrmidale Trip March 2020. Day 1. I headed north with Fitzy_1965 along the New England Highway. We were headed to Tamworth but only made it as far as Scone on the first day. It was a long day of driving with caching only in the afternoon.
Thanks.

Went for another solo geocaching adventure today to take my mind off how much I miss Art3mis while she’s on her overseas trip and I’m stuck here working
With not much traffic, had no trouble slowing down and pulling over. It was dark and it was raining, so there was definitely a sense of atmosphere to this one. Not a difficult cache, but a really nicely disguised one!
Thanks for this cache~ fun little one to do until my other half comes home - then I’m sure she’ll drag me back here so she can log it for herself too!

Dropped trackable CC163Y in.Should be an easy pick-up for its next adventure.
Found with GeoIan on our way to Tamworth for speedway. Good chance for the "L" plater to take a break. Found out in the open, with container in plain sight. TFTC

#8206 - 15:05; Headed north with the geotribe for a few days in the sun and surf at the Gold Coast. Decided to take a different route so we could see some places we had not been before, or at least not for a very, very long time. After taking the highway/freeway to Newcastle, we then headed along the New England Highway for points north as we made for Glen Innes for the night. After lunch in Singleton, it was a short hop to Muswellbrook and a quick find and sign on this cache on the way past. TFTC Rock_Dok
In the area for work and i decided to find couple on my way home. A quick find in a nicely cammoed container. TFTC
On the way back to Brisbane and stopped off at this cache . Found quickly. Took TBs and will place them in caches in QLD
Travelling from Morisset to Tamworth as we slowly make our way back the Gold Coast and Brisbane. This was the first of quite a few very creative and imaginative caches we visited today. Each was worthy of a FP. Once at GZ all were easy to spot. Thanks so much Rock_Dok for the time and effort you put into these creations for the enjoyment of others to find and experience.
On our way home from the Oz geo Muster (MEGA) at Morisset and only going as far as Armidale today so plenty of time to indulge in my third best past time.
( Eating Chocolate and going places with Mrs YOF being #1 and #2).
Parked along side of GZ and soon had the cache in hand. Left some travelers here.

An over night stop here at the showgrounds. We met up with Liz and Bruce & went out together to find a few caches. There are some very clever, sneaky & well constructed caches in the area. Really enjoyed finding the many different types.

We arrived in Muswellbrook late in the day and pulled into the showgrounds and after unhitching the caravan we headed out to find the creative caches that we had been told about. We were not disappointed and had a fun few hours finding this and other novel caches. Fav point alloc. Thank Rock_Dok for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
We are heading from Brisbane to Bright in Victoria, caching as we go, wherever it is safe to pull up with the caravan. We left Brisbane on 3rd Jan and don't have to be in Bright til the end of the month. Today's drive takes us from our camp at Lake Liddle on a round trip along Hebden Road.
Of course it us still there, last cacher just did not look properly. Easy find, signed and returned. Thanks Rock_dok

Found this this other day with my sister DollNy but forgot to log it! Got some funny looks from passing cars
Heading back home after the long weekend, we could not resist stopping for some caches on the way. This one was quickly found, even though the coordinates from the GPSr were about 10 metres off.

We did a few "Welcome to..." themed caches this weekend, mostly around Muswellbrook. This was the first of those Muswellbrook caches. We made an easy find here. Thanks
