Noting the previous log mentioning closure of the site, we drove out here today to confirm the current status. Indeed the site still remains closed and looks to be so for some time to come. This cache should probably be disabled until the site reopens.

19-Apr-22
The site is closed and there are works going on cleaning up the site.
This could be going on for a long time.

15-Apr-22
Instead of heading north for Easter, Seffnjarah and I planned a long weekend road trip collecting interesting caches and doing some bushwalks as we meandered our way south to Armidale and surrounds.

Having camped overnight at Bald Rock and climbed Bald Rock for sunrise, we have continued south.

We can confirm this site is currently closed while the Government undertakes remediation. So no sniffing arsenic dust here today.

Many thanks possum bugs 43

Pete

The site is closed at the moment. Seems the mine up the top of the hill might be taking it over or something.

Stayed overnight in Glen Innes and spending the morning in the Emmaville area before heading off to Tamworth for a few days. Spent a lovely few hours out this way exploring places that caching is taking us. Many thanks to the COs for placing and maintaining these caches and enhancing our visit.

Out and about caching today in the Emmaville district after driving from Glen Innes. Thank you to the CO's for the placement of these caches and bringing us to spots where you would otherwise drive past. Cache found, log signed and cache placed where found. TFTC

With a couple of hours to myself, and Emmaville & all its caches being so close, I made way here for some caching.

The ruins were a fascinating glimpse into a long gone era of the Emmaville region. Thanks for getting me here. FP for this one!

Doing some exploring around this area with ilook4geo and having a lot of fun too. We are making our way slowly further north, but not necessarily by a direct route, as following caches is much more interesting. Both names were written on each log found and all containers were replaced in their proper place before we moved on. Thank you to possum bugs 43 for placing this cache. We would not have come exploring here except for caching and we found the visit to be very interesting.

This was another really good caching day in company with goingplaces2. We found some good caches and signed each log. Our thanks go to each CO who placed the caches we found, as we enjoyed finding each one.

I am still on my way home from the OZ Geomuster Mega event held at Morisset over the Easter week-end. Cool
I arrived in Emmaville late yesterday arvo and stayed at the fantastic caravan park. Big Grin
Nice and quiet, mowed lawns, electricity and clean showers and toilets all for $10 for a solo traveller. Big Grin
So this morning I headed off around town to find all of the geocaches. In the end I DNF'ed just the one. [^]

I was in the area for a few days and there were a couple of unloved caches in the Emmaville area that I had decided to attempt and whilst I was at it I would grab the other nearby caches.

This was one such cache.

After pulling up nearby at a suitable parking spot, I walked to GZ and had the cache in hand shortly thereafter.

The log was signed and returned to the cache and the cache replaced exactly as found.

All is good with this cache.

Find #502.

A interesting place and I'm sure it was much less peaceful when it was operating than on a quiet sunday afternoon like today. I was happy to find the cache on the 'right' side of the fence despite my phone suggesting it might be a bit further away. TFTC

What an interesting old industrial site. I was fascinated by the remnant deposits of arsenic on the brickwork, and the lone tall square brick chimney high on the hill above enjoyed reading about all the various stages of the mine TFTC possum bugs 43

I was at the Robin's Nest last night in very good company of several cachers having a BBQ dinner. It was mentioned that Lone Star at Texas was awaiting a FTF and I stated I was not going to drive all that way for one cache as I do not actively chase the FTF. Went back to my motel after dinner and consulted Mr google Earth and there is a road that goes from Stanthorpe to texas and the I can cut down to Emmaville to get the three there and then back to Deepwater to get the four there. Left The Motel at 0630 and back in Queensland at Wallangarra at 1100. Though this was very good timing for the number of cachesfattempted and all found.

Parked in the car park and walked down the path looking at the history as I went. Approaching GZ my GPSr indicated a certain distance so i knew I had to walk down the steps. Very quick find in obvious spot. I appreciated the fact that this site is being maintained and preserved.

last time we came here we just found the cache at the parking area and left . Such is how some people cache and we just happened to be with them that day. Today we came to make a find. Ratdog and I we very surprised by what we found and would have loved to see more information in the area.

I for some reason was searching for a micro so was a bit shocked to find a large cache.
log signed and replace all is good here at cache. I replaced as found.
