Cool hide, a little tricky to get the lid off, but located quite easy with almond perfect camo.Been enjoying this after a day flying at Kariotahi beach...Fav point for being innovative and it's in good condition.Tftc
Wow incredible camo! You could be looking right at it for hours and not realise it!
Despite three visits in as many days, advice from previous finders, and sheer bloody-mindedness, no luck in finding this cache.
Had a fair idea what we were looking for and confirmed it with a previous finder but still couldn't see it
Yes, cache is there and can be seen from footpath just Lol!, I will be going past it again in 30minutes or so so will do a visual check as I do, It is a habit of looking, mind you, the cache looks better than the previous one, so previous finder may have been off on colour side of it, ??
Surprised ourselves with a really quick find here. Struck it lucky a guess. Tftc
we came - we looked - we didn't find today - but we are logging as a note NOT DNF as we gave it say 10 mins not a huge full area search - why -
#1 time of day was progressing and day light is precious so we decided best value was to move on
#2 - people working outdoors on scaffolding in nearby houses
#3 given Cyclone Gabrielle has been through since CO last checked so we were wondering if it was 'still in place'

Another visual check today on way past, oops cache has been knocked out of place?,
I put it back way it should have been,
Did this happen last time someone was there on 9th, after I checked, Lol!,
or has some one else been and not logged a DNF!, as they have been bamboozled?,

I had visually checked this when I went past twice today all good,
cache is in plain sight where it should be,
no none has been cutting Bamboo? there is no evidence of newly cut bamboo,

This is a bit of a tricky one, the bamboo ones often are!
Managed this one fairly quickly luckily.
Cache all good.
TNLN TFTC!

#5 for our spontaneous cache trip LOVED this one. My son and I were bamboozled but went with my gut not my device and in for the win
Almost bamboozled but spotted quite quickly. Could do with a dry log and a new poly bag.
Me and my dad looked again today and he spotted it, evil cache lol
I walk down this pathway a lot so I'd always end up looking towards the bamboo as I walked past, and getting frustrated
Probably more of a difficulty 2 or 2.5
TFTC!

Looked for a while but couldn't see anything, really close by anyway so can check regularly
A bit tricky to locate but got it in the end. Plastic bag holding log sheet was ripped so log is wet. Time to replace log paper.

NZ MEGA 2020 (in 2022) road trip - Day 7
Having had a fantastic day on Browns Island on Sunday, another member of Team Done by 1 (RustyNZ) and I arranged to go looking for the Crayola 64 series. Having completed it by mid-afternoon, we decided that neither of us fancied battling peak hour traffic so would do some more caching around this area. It's been about 10 years since I was last here in Waiuku, and this is my first visit here as a geocacher.
We were really losing the light by this stage of our evening, resorting to using our phone torches for searching, but we both still wanted to press on with a sort of rugged determination in spite of our tiredness.
Having had a DNF on a similarly themed cache earlier in the evening, R found this one quickly, and I'm glad she did as I was looking in a slightly different location. No problems to report, and our names were soon added to the log, before we headed off to the next cache on what would end up being a really long, but worthwhile day. I had my best single day ever with over 100 finds
Thanks for placing this cache.

With a previous DNF earlier to day in the bamboo I was a little apprehensive about diving back in.
Thankfully this one wanted to be found, and I discovered it fairly quickly. I left the signing to TwigNZ, as I rushed back up the path, rubbing my arms to escape the mosquitoes who were now feasting on me!
Could have been a really tricky hide, but I was lucky today.
Thanks for this clever hide flossy63, with TwigNZ finding caches around Waiuku

I did not expect a quick find, but then you never know. Second place that I looked! A nice quick find thanks.
Time for another trip to the North Island for Ms_KR and me. Wellington and beyond here we come. Today we toured around Waiuku area and found some new spots to us. It is a hot summer so far!
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

This one had us bamboozled for quite a while this afternoon. Got an idea of what to look for but it was very well cameoed. Were happy to make this find.
This one took us a bit and the search area was quite vast. Even managed to find someone's bong! Got there in the end even after being nearly carried away by the flying dragons
Have been checking finds on my aging Montana 650 and have discovered this find that I hadnt logged before. A couple of previous visits resulted in a sad face due to biting insects, muggles and poor caching skills. But with this visit I spotted it quickly. A very well-constructred cache. Thanks.
Day 1 on my little weekend Pukekohe escapade - no real plan, just chipping away at the area.
This cache bamboozled me the last time I was here - but it was the middle of the night and I was wary of the neighbours. Not today though - it didn't take too long to get a hold of this one - cheers flossy63, TFTC

After a quick coffee stop in town at a quirky cafe, we headed to find this cache with Merlot58. Thankfully the cache was soon spotted as there are many possible hiding places to get bamboozled!
Took a bit of a hunt but after a few minutes put my hand on it and it moved... TFTC
Cache is there in plain site, I will make a new camo it blends in too well now it has aged a bit, I visually check it when I walk past going down to bus, last checked 2 days ago,
Team work with CyclicalCaching , funkymunkyzone and Gorbygorbachov during caching Awhitu Saturday trip.
My second visit at this location.
We had DNF here on the way in ....
After message from CO on cache page we decided to give a go one more time on the way back.
There you go!
Not an easy one!

Welcome back to level 2, Time to have some fun, cache all good to go, Take care all,
Temporarily Disabled Due to Covid-19, Please STAY AT HOME in your bubble, any logs from this date forward will be deleted until out of level 4, While in LEVEL 4, No Geocaching!
Got Bamboozled big time and eaten alive by mozzies .... Sayonara quicker than expected. Thanks anyway.
Quickly stopped in on my way down from the Manukau Heads but the hide proved too clever for me especially in this failing light - will have to return in the day when I have a little more time on my hands. Cheers flossy63.
Neighbours on the deck, had a couple of quick probes, but couldn't do a sustained search.
Out and about taking advantage of a free afternoon to find hides around rural south west Auckland. It's nice to blow the cobwebs away with a drive in the countryside. Not the best weather for it as there is cold wind blowing.I don't think I have been to Waiuku for 6 years, so time to find the caches placed since my last visit. I parked up on Norfolk Rise and made the short walk down to GZ. Good coordinates got me in the right place and I surprised myself with a quick find. Didn't realise I had found it until I picked it up! Cheers for the cache placement!
After a successful FTF hunt out near South Head, we headed back into Waiuku to find a few more. Our first stop was here where we tried to not get Bamboozled. Knew exactly what to look for, but it still took a little while to spot. Thanks.
Was here for ages a year ago and couldn't find ...Today I went straight to it!
Even though starting to get dark...
So pleased.
Thanks heaps flossy63.

After a find on this the other day, I did a visual check on my way home from work after getting off my bus,
But it was missing, so went to have a closer look & I was left bamboozled !,
after a few minutes I saw where it had been put, just lying nearby up higher ?,
I am disappointed with these premier members, [:(!]
Please put caches back, where and how you find them,
Now back where it should be,

Plan for this weekend to visit Awhitu Peninsula Never been in this area before except Waiuku.
Met up with fellow cachers from Huntly on Friday night and travelled up on Saturday morning. Plan to start at bottom and work up.+ Cachers were signed with the team name HRT being first letter of our home towns (Huntly, Rotorua, Tauranga)
Generally caches were good but some a little damp, others requiring reading descriptions, hints and other cachers comments to make finds.
As the day went on we realised we would have to return the next day to complete, so this made it a Saturday & Sunday mission.
Weather was great and some amazing sites visited.
Wish to thank all CO's for caches placed. Great trip. SLTFTC

My wife works for a company whose products are especially popular at Christmas time, so as I start to slow down, she gets busier and busier. To ensure no body woke up Christmas morning disappointed I was asked to make a delivery on behalf of her employers to someone in Waiuku. Since I have never been to Waiuku I said sure knowing I was going to be able to grab a few Geocaches along the way.
It took two passes before I even spotted the path and when I reached GZ I realised I would be in view of two muggles outide their house so turned tail and left-more Din not attempt rather than a did not find.

Out for a great days caching with Agazo on a sunny day. This should have taken awhile but has luck has it put our hands on it straight away. Nice hide all good. Thanks again flossy63.
Just replaced wet log with a new one, on my walk down to my early bus for work, please close bag,
Out in the general area as there were 3 new caches published this morning. After finding those with thejaybees we stopped for some coffee and foodfuel before working our way around the local area for some more caches.
I don't often have a lot of success with bamboo caches but was determined to at least give it a good go. Arrived and saw the general search area...hmm...guessed what the camo would be like but it could be anywhere! After a couple of minutes read some logs...plain sight you say....nope still no luck...read a few more and noticed a note from the CO from Jan 2016 with a big clue which reduced the search area...returned to path looked in direction of the hint and just knew I had spotted it...scrambled back up and there it was....log is soaking though so couldn't sign very well...
Thanks for the cache and an FP for the camo

I can confirm, it is definitely there, I walked past it twice today, and walk past it twice a day during the week, so often do a visual on it after getting off bus on way home from work, I have also been considering relocating it?,
Too many are getting Bamboozled, some would say it's evil !, some do say it's evil !, very well camo'ed.

Lots of activity here. Two of us spent fifteen minutes. Nothing in clear sight from the path. A bit disappointing.
Have now changed this to a Premium Member Only cache !, a lot of activity has been happening around cache, Foliage been disturbed, & also cache !, moved, pulled out with foliage, I have had to put it back several times recently,
Yet no DNF's have been logged,
Please be respectful of area and read description, this is in plain sight from footpath !, no need to disturb area and foliage.

2940 Had planned for a trip around the peninsula with non caching daughter but a sprained ankle put a halt to that. So after settling her down with her foot up and ice on it I went for a look for this one. Had looked once before with no luck. Noticed that the house overlooking was closed up so I had plenty of time to look. This time I had success. The log looked wet and as my daughter lived nearby decided to take it home and dry it out. Back at her place found I was wrong. So signed and walked back to return. The house was no longer empty but the ute in the driveway soon started and once his phone call was finished he left and I was able to return the cache to it's hiding spot.
Wow what luck a quick find by 8 year old cacher Seph in under 30 seconds.
Just as well because the mozzie were rampant tftc

This was my 4th time and couldnt find this one had to empty the bottle of bug repellent on me to keep away the squitos !
Third time not the charm for me on this one. Got bitten nearly to death so I am off to the hospital for a blood transfusion as the little suckers took so much blood!!!
Happy for the cache owner to email me a bigger hint!!! lol!

Thought I knew what to look for and was right but had a few false starts. What_fibble actually cam up with it in hand. A great cache. TFTC
A very cleaver hiding place amongst the bamboo, the caching eyes were able to locate the hiding spot reasonably quickly. TFTC
First time being muggled and it was by the CO!!
Found it in the end with a little guidance, log was damp but CO took it home with her to do some maint on.
Lovely to meet you, all the best from JacquiandGreg

Looked for a while but one of the kids and myself we getting eaten alive by mozzies and without a wingman on lookout I was paranoid of the potential of mugglers in houses directly behind so did not want to hang round too long in a ally way. GPS was jumping and it is a big patch of bamboo so we left bamboozled.
Gave up as getting bitten too much and had noisy kids with me!! Will come back better prepared!
I can let you all know this is safe an sound in plain view of footpath, I do a visual check almost daily when I get off bus on way home,
Please do not go digging or destroying foliage,
stand on footpath just left of Aggies look 1-2 and this should cut your time short,

Searched thoroughly in the obvious location using GPS coordinated and the hint. No luck. It could have been a couple of metres just down the path but that was in full close view of some neighbours doing activity outdoors.
Lost patience and got muggled out on this one.
I'm expecting it's there but I wasn't able to locate it on my visit.

Out with some friends. Headed to the GZ and we all started searching. One of my friends found it thank goodness, as I would have struggled I think :-p
Very crafty.
Very crafty.
A group of us decided to spend a very sunny and warm day in Waiuku today, finding caches. A much better option than joining the crazy Christmas traffic and crowds in town.
We made our way to GZ and after a short search Newlynfam found the cache which was very nicely camo'ed. the log was a bit damp but we signed as SEAC (South East Auckland Crew) to save time and log space. TFTC!

Made the trek out to Waiuku today with some of the usual gang, in order to find a few caches, visit the Christmas display (Mrs HeMaLuDy took the kids) and have a picnic lunch together.
Parked on the road and wandered in, one after the other, like lemmings (lol). Once we got to GZ we noted all the bamboo, and started to consider all the many, many possibilities.... luckily, something just seemed to stand out a little.... something just ever-so-slightly different (in what way, I won't say ) from it's surrounds. Closer inspection revealed the cache!
Log signed as "SEAC" to save log space (South East Auckland Crew) our team name when we cache together, as we often do! Log was pretty damp, and so tore very slightly as I opened it... a ziplock bag may help matters!
TFTC! Very cool hide.

We have made our annual trek to Waiuku to see the Christmas Display (sad to hear it may be the last one), and thought we would grab a few caches in the area as well. This one had us bamboozled for quite a while, I had an image in my head of what I expected to be looking for but couldn't seem to find it. I tried the phone a friend option as they had found it earlier in the day, and they confirmed that what I thought I was looking for was correct. Then I had a lightbulb moment and rechecked where I had been before and discounted as not an option, and there it was, even with three of us searching it took a while. Found with darthcacher1 and purply.
#410 we had an awesome day here at Waiuku, down from West Auckland to see the Christmas display and do some caching. At this one we roughly had an idea, what we were looking for, even though our gps was trying to take us somewhere else. we searched and searched... ahhaaa there it is, just as it is said, in the clear view.. signed it and placed it back just as found. we too have a bamboozled one in Browns Island. Tftc.
Must be well hidden. Had daughter with me and she was getting scratchy so may not have looked as closely as I might. Excuses, excuses!
I have one of these type of caches too! So I expected no surprises, but neverthe less it still takes awhile to see it in disguise. Thanks for that. Just managed to put it away when heaps of kids came down the path while I went back up.
Disappointed, after seeing a new log for this on way home, did a visual check after getting off bus, couldn't see it so closer investigation was required,
Was not put back how it should of been, just left lying down, and cache was pushed right in ???? camo so next person would have difficulty getting it open, if they could at all,
I have now removed it, to fix so will be un available for about 24hours,
I have just had to use tools t extract it !!,
and made repairs so there is no way it could possible get pushed in, god knows how it was managed to get pushed in in 1st place, Please treat caches with respect.
"""Please people,"""" Please treat caches with respect & put caches back how & where you find them, otherwise it spoils it for the next person, Thank you.

This is the second time I have visited this GZ but this time I was successful. I don't know how I missed it last time. (Yes, I do, it was easy to miss).
Nicely camouflaged.
Cheers for the cache.

Lol !, as it was, I did a visual check on this at 6:20am on way down to bus this morning,
after seeing new log in my E-Mails I did another visual after getting off bus on way home at 6:30pm,
I think catchers log below, may of cut their visit a bit short, as catch looks like it had been nudged as on slightly different angle.

Cache still in original spot, clearly seen from footpath,
have given cache fresher new leash of life, new camo,
old camo was a bit rain / weather battered, not inviting & very unlikely to be looked upon as cache,
Would of done it sooner, but knee surgery & crutches was a no no for this.
Just a reminder, there is no need to dig or rummage and damage foliage,
This is in clear view from footpath, Please do Not destroy the surroundings.

Had a look here last night with Wild Tui but no luck in the dark, no mozzies tho!! Will be back in daylight hours for a more enlightened search
Was looking with the help of nzguy but got too bamboozled today lol after looking for about half an hour. Also was losing GPS accuracy and could be reverse psychology in the cache description??? Must come back another day with some others and have another crack.
