I made a booboo when I did this challenge series during a visit to Brisbane years ago ... I only found those caches for which I was qualified to log a find ... rookie mistake!! So, I finally made a return visit to Tinchi Tamba this morning to collect the remaining 5 caches in the series ... but, as a bonus, I got to do an AL as well.[Shrk](https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?u=Shr%C3%ABk) has used [Project-GC](https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC5JETV/58818 "Project-GC Challenge Checker") to see if they qualified for this challenge and they did. 2015-07-09 JOURNEY PUZZLE (GC42KFN) - Unknown Cache 2014-07-06 Under the Big M (GCY3C1) - Traditional Cache 2017-07-22 Luddenham Bicentenary (GC4TWVM) - Multi-cache 2023-07-21 yarri-a-bini (GC7B9KP) - Virtual CacheThanks for setting this challenge Fangsoki.

Over from NZ visiting and doing as much caching as other commitments allow. After attending a CITO on the northside this morning, decided to spend the rest of the day finding caches on my list that were in the area.My main targets were the challenge caches in Tinchi Tamba and I think I picked a good day, with a little bit of breeze, no mozzies and lots of kangaroos. Took a while to find here in a non hint location, but close to coords on GPS once it settled.I initially thought these challenges were the same as the ones in Christchurch they were modelled on and I qualified for all them. However, have since realised that events don't qualify for these Aussie versions, so just writing a note for now, until I do qualify properly. TFTC

July, Tax time! Lets get our tax done and hope we can make enough claims to get a nice return so we can buy that fancy new GPS. Today I set off to find the challenge caches that we qualify for around the Tinchi Tamba wetlands. I picked a cold day in the hope that I could avoid the dreaded mozzies that are normally here in plague proportions. To my delight and with a little extra wind to help I spent all day riding around without one mozzie bothering me. TFTCbedmakerTG fulfills challenge "Can you spell JULY in July?" TripleTurmoil, elina_maree and I spent this afternoon caching at Tinchi Tamba. We found 16 challenge caches, 6 trads and completed the AdLab and bonus cache. It was perfect weather, the tracks were all fairly dry and there were no mozzies at all today, just heaps of kangaroos.Another nice easy find here. I still need to find a couple more caches for this one but hoping to have found them by the end of this month. Thanks for the challenge and the cache Fangsoki!

A quick find today allowed us to finally finish this series.TFTC Fangsoki

Having only been to Tinchi Tamba wetlands once before, I still had most of the caches to sign. Willis007 was happy to join me as she had a few to sign too. It was a beautiful day, not too many mozzies and lots of caches signed.
After walking around looking for a vine - we eventually found the cache on the ground next to a very old broken vine. SL and placed at shoulder height in tree at gz.

Brisbane and Sunny Coast, it is great to be back! I have lived here for a short period many, many years ago. At that time generally only caches at prominent spots or with plenty of favourite points attracted my attention. A lot has changed since then and I am all into the deeper caching stats since quite some time. Some years ago I wanted to put faces to names, so had planned to attend the local Mega Event and find numerous caches while being in the area. Unfortunately, the pandemic got in the way and meant that I had to cancel all travel arrangements last minute. This left me with a list of literary hundreds of caches, which included solved geoarts, caches that were worth getting to due to their old age or their rare type, challenge caches, or caches that would count towards filling my individual size and type D/T matrixes. Fortunately, this list that took months to prepare was not for nothing, as now I am finally back in the area, even if it’s just for a short trip. In the lead up to my current visit I updated my list and tried to streamline the route as good as possible to make the best out of my limited time. The grand aim aside of getting a couple more caches for filling my Jasmer calendar was completing lots of loops! This included completing my 4th and 5th overall D/T matrix loop and completing the D/T matrix using only mystery caches, and only micro sized caches and only small sized caches caches!! Of course the shabby weather couldn’t stop me from putting my plan into action. So, I am now very happy to log my find of this cache after all this effort. Thank you very much Fangsoki for creating and placing "Can you spell JULY in July?" Challenge! It certainly was a great trip which brought me to great caches and locations!

I don't know why it has taken us so long (8 years) to complete this challenge with only 4 letters in the month. I actually had to plan the J find specifically and nearly came undone with puzzle solving deficiencies, but with lots of help from that cache's CO, managed to get through it and find it in the right month. Already missed May & June again this year, so have to try again next year, both missing just one letter of the needed type.
Actually found the physical cache 25/10/21 on an expedition to Tinchi Tamba for a family walk. We were being stalked by some scarily big kangaroos but luckily they kept their distance as did we, and no conflict ensued.
Our qualifying caches are as follows (verified by Project-GC):
2022-07-08 Jeeple (GC9JZ7Y) - Unknown Cache

What better way to spend some quality time with my lovely partner than chasing down a few AdLabs and stomping through Tinchi Tamba Wetlands Reserve trying to scare off the monster kangaroos of which she is terrified!
We also managed a few random caches along the way.

Another late qualifier with the last spot only filled this year. Big Grin
A nice quick find by Mrs VC.
There were some HUGE roo footprints on the way in here! Surprised
I hope they are feeding somewhere further afield today. Big Grin
Made our mark & replaced as found.
Top day for a stroll through Tinchi Tamba.

Muggle65 and I braved the mozzie hordes and went for a stroll in one of our favourite close-to-home spots. Usually we donate a few litres of blood to the natives here but we did really well today - Zero Bites!! No idea how that happened, just really happy that it did. Loving the checker for these caches. It took me ages in the old days and I kind of gave up. Thank you so much for adding them. And many thanks for the fun challenge Smile

Nearly a year since we ventured to the wetlands to scribe our intent to fulfil this challenge. Unlike previous challenges, we completed with plenty of spare time. The qualifying caches are as follows:
2020-07-19 Joining the Lost Tribe (GC6NHMK) - Wherigo Cache
2021-07-04 Up'n'Down - Pacman Series #21 (GC6R8Y9) - Unknown Cache
2014-07-13 Lonesome George (GC3Q7J8) - Traditional Cache
2021-07-04 You've Got Mail #3 (GC96R8E) - Letterbox Hybrid
As with previous months, I have reviewed the qualifiers to pick a favourite, which is Joining the Lost Tribe. A good morning out with a variety of activities kept everyone amused. As usual for us all the caches are located in Queensland and total time from first qualifier to last is 6 years 356 days.
Thanks very much Fangsoki for the Challenges. Cheers

This evening, I headed north to Tinchi Tamba Wetlands Reserve. My aim was the completion of *Tinchi Tamba Wetlands* Adventure Lab, as well as checking out a few of the challenges that were scattered around. Much to my surprise, the cold and nippy night had scared off the mosquito hordes, as I didn't see any. Subsequently, I had a rather nice walk around the area, spending an enjoyable three hours under torchlight before departing back home for a late dinner.

I went off piste fro the main wetlands track, and took a walk around these challenges. I hadn't planned on completing these since it went dark reasonably quickly, however, with no mosquitoes around, I was enjoying my walk, and given my previous experience at other wetlands, then tonight was a rare night. My main torch started to go lose battery halfway around, and so I reverted back to my trusty iPhone torch powered by a power bank to keep me going. These challenges were quite interesting and a bit of fun, and I saw quite a few wallabies and kangaroos that were about trying to graze as the sun set.

I managed to walk from the main track through the trees and bush, and narrowed down on this geocache reasonably quickly. The hint and coordinates were actually bang on. I also must say that this cache container and logbook were in excellent/pristine shape! Thanks Fangsoki for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

I used [Project-GC](https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC5JETV/58818 "Project-GC Challenge Checker") to see if I qualified for this challenge, and I did.
My list is the following:
**J** : Jerry's Flat (GCTZ1V) - Multi-cache, found on 27/07/2019;
**U** : Under a A (GC81CT6) - Traditional Cache, found on 18/07/2019;

Hunting all the challenge caches with krcamber & jodsta83 finally!

We'd been in the wetlands for about 2 hours by the time we got to this one and I gave myself a little pat on the back for how well I sprayed the Aeroguard earlier. Swearah 1, Mozzies 0.

krcamber spotted this one quickly and did a little maintenance on it. She's like Mrs Macgyver. I broke a strap on my backpack earlier and she showed me how to sort that out too.

Thanks for the challenge and the cache, Fangsoki!

Out for a day of caching with swearah and krcamber to grab this series of challenge caches. This day has been in the making for some time now and today was finally the day. A beautiful day to explore this area and grab a few caches CITO was done along the way and many laughs were had. I have listed my qualifying caches below. Jodsta83, Swearah and I have been working on these challenges for ages now and choosing a day to go collect has been almost as challenging! Today was that day and it was a great one! This cache was found on the ground so we hunted in our caching bags and found some zip ties to fix it. Some quick MacGyvering and it was back up and running. It was already hot by this point so we had a quick break in the shade.

Getting back to working on these challenges. It was a hot and sticky day to be out and about but there had not been much rain so pretty dry and the mozzies were not too bad either. Mind you I had so much repellent on they would have died if they tried Smile. Anyway I only just qualify for this challenge and appreciate the effort that has gone into placing and maintaining. Was in the mood for a walk when I woke up this morning and decided Tinchi Tamba would be the perfect place for it. We haven’t had rain recently and the mozzies were still coming up to full force so it was a most pleasant stroll. It seemed silly to walk straight past all these caches so we stopped in to find and sign each one along the way even if we don’t qualify yet. A most enjoyable morning. TFTC Fangsoki

Wow another month down, having signed this one a while ago and with project GC telling me I’m all good, today I am logging my completion of this challenge. It took the whole month to get it done and by the 12 hour I had it finished.

I enjoy the challenge caches, it gives you a reason to hunt and a purpose to go out and target particular caches, so thank you for putting these out. With only 4 months left I will be sorry to see the end of these.

It seems like everyone is making use of the greater freedom at the moment to finish their "July" challenge! We now join the long list of people who have completed this challenge this month! We only had one more type to fill the requirements, and maybe because the task seemed quite simple, or maybe because the weather has been wet and cold and not at all friendly to geocaching, we left it right up until the final week of July to finish the challenge.
As caching plans had been cancelled on the weekend due to the unseasonal rain, we took advantage today of the fact that neither of us had managed to secure casual work, and hopped in the car to go and log our last c ache for the challenge, a lovely Whereigo in Underwood. So here is the completed list, some years in the making. While the first find was in 2007, before the challenge was even created, three of the caches were intentionally found in 2018, 2019 and 2020 specifically to fill gaps, so it really has been an arduous process, despite July only having four letters !).

J: GC6K9H7 Journey to Anywhere - 24/7/18 (Letterbox)

L: GC112PM Little Miss Peaceful 2/7/07
Y: GCT463 YoU Qan 14/7/19

We loved these month challenges and are almost sad that they are nearly coming to a close for us. In November we will endeavour to complete the very last one, and then I guess we turn our eyes towards other challenges! Thank you for this, and the entire series of caches!

Finally after over 4 years we can spell July, this is the last monthly spell challenge for us. Signed the log on 2/1/20 in the hope we could sort out February and July this year. We usually have to travel to find caches and exotic cache types starting with y and u seem rarer in north Queensland, our school holiday plans to visit Canberra were postponed until next year.
List below, apologies to 'Lambchops' and 'LOCAL BIRD-LORE' which missed the cut.

Back again with this cache, and after signing the paper log some months ago, we can now log a find.
We had to wait until this July to find another "Y" cache, (or else a couple of variations), since we needed 4 cache types. Mission successful with our "Y' cache being a little beauty we found in Toowoomba this weekend.

Here's our list and a couple of things we remember about the caches involved in this list.
"J" GC1ZM6P - Jumping Josh - traditional 27/7/2017
"U" GC2J78B - Under - multi. Hidden by Pacmania...great cache hider in Canberra. Found when we lived in Canberra on 27/7/2014
"L" GC7B9CM - virtual. With 195 favourite points, who wouldn't want to have a go at this! We found it on 15/7/2019. A great virtual on a bridge in Ljubljana.
"Y" GC64K74 - mystery. We found this one today on our trip around Toowoomba.

Nice to have July complete. It was the only month that had not met the challenge requirements of this series for us. So, now we can add this final one to our collection of smileys.
Thanks Fangsoki,

Domskky

I still have fond memories of finding and signing all of the month challenge caches back on 30/01/2015. Was a crazy day in hindsight, wandering around covered in mud and Bushman's with gum boots and my big hat, being a landing spot for so many mozzies, and being quite tentative about the roos. I had been to see the Foo Fighters in concert the week before, so they were on high rotation on my iPod, which might have been what kept the roos away Wink

With finds last weekend, yesterday and today, I now have my July caches complete. My list:

After attending a medical appointment I thought I’d head to Tinchi Tamba to sign the remaining challenge caches and look for the traditional near the boat ramp since last time I ran out of sun light when looking for it.

I arrived around mid afternoon, at that time the sun still had some heat to it, so luckily I brought my large water bottle with me to keep me hydrated.

Once I hit the trails all was well, but further in the trails started turning into mush from all the rain we had not too long ago. Some parts were a little difficult to navigate and my shoes kept getting stuck in the mud. I forgot how fierce the mozzies were there, being out in the sun wasn’t too bad, but once in the shade and searching for the caches then they were all over me! And silly me forgot my spray, so I wasn’t protected.

It was a fantastic afternoon despite to hoards of mozzies and the mud. I saw plenty of Kangaroos and got plenty of exercise.

*** I have signed the log, but don’t qualify just yet, or I may do, I’ll need to check ***

Today I was invited out by hatzofff and friends to go north to these wetlands to primarily log the month challenge caches.
The whole place was infested with Spiders, Mozzies and Kagaroos.
I do not think I qualify for this yet but am going to use some of my time in self isolation when I get back to Austria to check it. If not, then I'll be working towards it when the time comes.

A walk around the wetlands today collecting caches and filling logs for challenges. While there were no other humans around I was followed / stalked and startled by the huge numbers of kangaroos in the area, a couple even stood up to me, don’t like my chances against the big males. The mozzies were on the attack but a full can of bushmans was only a little consolation to these hungry buggers.

While I am close to completing it would be silly not to be ready and sign the cache for when the day comes. Easy walk around to find cache today. Thanks for the cache and challenge

Don't normally sign the log until we qualify, but Mr CNQ was 40 m from this one, so it seemed more efficient to sign it now and log once we qualify, at least in July 2020. These 'spell the month' challenges are a novel idea which I discovered a few years back and began compiling my required finds. I never got to visit as planned and to be honest along the way I forgot to keep checking if I qualify. I found each of the challenge caches today, so I will claim a find or write a note accordingly

I've been north of here most of last week visiting plantations so being back in civilisation I was keen to do some caching. KTB and I had spent the night in Sandgate so we got an early start wandering about the wetlands here before it got too hot.

Tough luck, It was dang hot even at 10am. nothing like a bit of sweat to get the toxins out though. Our travels were supervised by various kangaroos of all sizes from all sides, and by their looks it appears they have seen antics such as ours many times over the last few years.

My thanks go to Fangsoki for the challenge presented here, It is a great idea and has been fun looking back through all my finds to see if I qualify. Great location at GZ as well! cheers!
