A bit short on time so didn't head up for a walk. Will be back for that soon. A quick dash and grab here today. TFTC

Missed this on 25/4/2017...
Sigh. But hey, got it this time. Should be our final gem code.
A bit wet inside outer, but good inside.

Lostcourse and FMZ and I left Auckland at 3am this morning... why? Who knows, we're mad... that's a fact and we're keen to have a great day of caching well south of Dargaville and rural roads more north, we have never been on. Lostcourse has summed up pretty well our details here, so no need to add more. We have a few choice caches to do here and there. Nice spot for a cache.
Out and about with FMZ, 404 and Gorby for an epic days caching around lower Northland. It was a very early start in Auckland, then caching our way to Dargaville, before heading half way back to Auckland by heading down the peninsula to Pouto, then back to Dargaville again. Now we are making our way back to state highway one via these rural back roads. It has been a great day weather wise, clear skies and great views. Anyway, we parked up in the car park, close to GZ, and got to searching. We had a hunch as to what expect from this CO. Let's just say we weren't wrong as Gorby made a quick find here. No time for the track today, but I am keen to come back and do it at some point. Cheers for the cache placement!
I had a big day planned. I was 20 caches short of the Turtle souvenir and I was hoping to get them today. Unfortunately I only got 13 so I'm still 7 short. I wrote quick found it logs as I went correctly thinking that geocaching.com would be slow tonight with the souvenir challenge closing soon. The road was a bit slippery in places today and could do with some gravel along it. I parked in the parking space and walked around in circles following my GPS. Followed the hint - can't go past the wire. Eventually I happened to check here as my GPS put me about 13m out. I didn't venture further up the trail as time was against me today. I came here years ago as my son had a school camp up at the Lions Lodge. Our local Lions club up north is great. They regularly come and help the school with their fundraising efforts - Thanks Lions. Thanks for the cache
Thanks alligatorsnz..
Nice to be somewhere new....
Exploring and finding new caches .....plus I had some lovely company ....
Will have to return another day to go up the hill for the others.

out enjoying a wee drive on the back roads as its been years since out these ways. nice quick sign thx.
Well this frustrates me... Missed this one.
With your Parking coordinates on the other caches... This was cache covered up by the large P to show the parking.
May I suggest you move your Parking Waypoints as not to hide this one.
Would have loved to have picked this one up as well.

In the area for another tramp, container repaired and upgraded log storage installed:-)
Out for the day to help with a Car Club event at Waiotira, so what better to do on the way home, but to look for some caches. Never been on these back roads in Northland before. Heard about the Tangihua Lodge and often wondered where the entrance was.
Cache was a quick find with the good clues, luckily just before some muggles turned up to go bow hunting.

Found on 29/12/16, my last day of geocaching for 2016. Really good to get out and about on these back roads close to home, and to drag Dad along with me. Cache bone dry and in fine condition. Almost busted by a huge flock of passing sheep, dogs, and a couple of farmers but no worries in the end. Tftc!
I will be one of the instructors for a group of Young Mariners from Auckland and Whangarei who are attending a weekend bushcraft camp at the Tangihua Lions Lodge. This cache was on my "to do" list during the weekend camp so I stopped on my way into the Lodge to pick this one up.
A quick find before going into the Lodge. Cache was dry and there is plenty of space in the log for future caching visits.

passing by, popped in - cache all present and correct - added waterproof log and info card....
(1446) It was time to tackle the Horokaka track and pick up the caches along the way. Nice easy find at the car park. TFTC
Last week we decided that once our daughter flew home to Australia we would take our campervan north for a few days of caching holiday. At the same time we had got into a daily FTF streak that we wanted to extend as far as possible. Thanks to a headsup from McArgister we remembered having seen these new caches that only had 'found on placement' logs.
We took our daughter and her partner to the airport at midday today, and then went home to pack our camper.
We reached GZ just before dusk, and found the cache after a short search. Opened it with some trepidation, and were delighted to find the empty logsheet. Yahoo! Our 10th FTF day in a row!
And now to find somewhere nearby to overnight before chasing FTF #11
Thanks alligatorsnz - haven't been out this way before.

There on placement, so I'm not the FTF.
Out on a hike to the Tangihua's summit, together with the CO and a couple of muggles. A straightforward cache to start the days hike! TFTC!
