With today being Father's Day, I was given a free choice of activities for the family to participate in. Of course I chose Geocaching .
With the kids on their bikes, we visited Poohs corner, and I'm proud to say we completed the full loop!
Great spot here, I think this was a water filtration tank, I remember seeing similar on army bases when I was a kid, it had a large revolving 4 arm sprayer which came attached to the pipe in the middle. Cool spot.
---
This cache is in good condition, and makes smilie #2715. Thanks **moo73** for showing us this spot. Discover our code TGQNRV, and mention where you saw it.

Found this afternoon on a walk with Chip, Juno and Chip's Dad. A fantastic walk in the late afternoon light some very inventive caches that we very much enjoyed. Thanks so much for placing this series.
Cheers

We found this cache today on our round through Pooh Corner. Thanks for this really nice and well maintained series of caches.
The area of interest was obvious as I approached and I walked around it to find the location of the cache. IT was obvious when I has on the far side and then I had to access the spot.
My legs protested but I managed the access and soon located the cache.
TFTC. Off to No 3..

I have read somewhat about the recent history of Pooh Corner and have become rather interested in what has gone on here - largely the population of kangaroos that call it home during the day. Most days driving home I see many dozens of them grazing by the roadside and I just love seeing wildlife at the end of a hard day. It is a bonus I've come to look forward to.
Just before the bridge, I had noticed the concrete 'thingy' tucked away in the bush. No doubt a remnant of the military days long gone and swore one day to stop and go for a look. That was today. I parked roadside, hopped the fence and wandered through the long grass towards the concrete feature. On the way there was a lot of kangaroos watching me. A particularly large male watched very closely and I hoped he wasn't about to attack, thinking I was a threat to his family. Though, as I moved a bit further on, he hopped towards me, crossed behind me and to another mob down the hill. Sorry for holding you up, buddy! Enjoy your evening grass munching with friends!
A bit of a wander around raised more questions than it answered. A small pump house had pipes leading up the knoll which had more large outflow pipes. I guess that means the big circle concrete thingy might be some sort of half-buried tank? A hop and a jump had me on top of the big circle concrete thingy. I noted the huge metalwork rings that once held it together - something inside it once wanted to get out.
In my travels I came across an odd pile of rocks, naturally, being a geocacher I poked about and out fell an eclipse tin. Oh.. well I was just thinking it'd be a great spot for some sort of geocache. No wonder someone else thought of it first. I'll sign it while I'm here! Even if I haven't got a clue what it's called, who hid it or anything. I replaced it as found, continued my exploring, then headed home as the sun set. Obviously, I've worked out which geocache it is, and happy to log it. A fascinating place to visit. Thanks for the find, moo73

A cool spot! And also finally saw the kangaroos I've been looking for this whole time TFTC!
Cheating a bit with copy paste logs as I realise I haven logged this big day out with Menstrietash and Zee+glee and I'm now on holiday so will come back to finish the logs later but this will keep things in order to log the holiday finds!

When I saw where the cache was hidden I had a moment of panic. Oh dear, I found a very well camo'd cache in a similar location once before and I was not looking forward to a long search. Every cache so far was so easy! But Menstrieben is clearly much smarter than me and zeroed into a spot immediately and the cache in hand within seconds! Great little area, had some musings as to what the structures were used for.
We were surprised to find such a structure here and wonder what the area was like in the past. We didn't find an easy way to reach gz but did find a convenient one. GPS coordinates were pretty well exact on this one, not that it was really needed for this hide. The cache was quickly in hand and the log signed. Then a scramble back to the track on to the next cache. TFTC

Our last day in Ipswitch, this morning we headed out to Pooh Corner.
We are so pleased that we chose this series of caches to do with the limited amount of time we had here. A pleasant level walk around the track.
The caches were all found & they followed the Pooh theme wonderfully. I certainly would reccomed this series to others.

Lacking some imagination here comparatively we think bit kids liked (?) to hear this was the pooh dumping site of yore.
visiting from over the ditch. This walkway is beautiful. I was a fan of Pooh bear and this bought back lots of lovely childhood memories. Thank you for the caches
Some interesting ruins and I thought the cache was going to be in the separate little building going by the hint but the pointer sent me to the middle of pi r squared and I made a quick find. Signed and replaced.
Thanks!
Thanks!
After lunch Dr Hunting Rabbit and four of his Asian muggle church friends (they were keen to get out for an afternoon walk) met up with TrickyT for a crappy day of caching on a wonderful afternoon in Pooh corner. Having seen these get published this trail was at the top of Dr Hunting Rabbit's "TO DO" list whilst in Australia. The Hunting Rabbit have grown quite fond of TrickyT over the years and it was nice to finally get out caching with him. His knowledge of the Australian bush and friendly nature made this a special day. Even the muggles grew in interest and were happy to make a find.
This was the second cache of the day. Pooh's circle of wisdom is sure an interesting old structure. I'm wondering if this was remnants of the water tank from Camp Columbia. This one took longer than it should have. With a mob of muggles waiting we didn't want to be too long, but Dr Hunting Rabbit was struggling with this one. Thankfully TrickyT's guidance was very insightful and the cache was soon in hand. TFTC moo73

Relogging this under individual account, previously a member of Gaz'n'Kab account.
Decided to head out this morning to grab a few caches, and Pooh Corner looked like the perfect place This one was number 20 of 21 for today, and a quick find as I made my way around the loop today I soon made my way to this cache next, and after a quick search of the area and spotted a likely GZ I soon had the cache in hand, and added our name to the logbook before returning the cache as I found it, and heading off to grab a few more for the day [^] A great bit of history here

I'm not a big fan of these types of containers but this was a pretty neat way to use one. Found a tree to use to climb up onto the circle but I don't think there's much life left in that tree. Thanks moo73
Nice cache, and I know what this structure is! It is a "clarifier" or "settling tank" for wastewater treatment. You can see an example of one here:
http://techalive.mtu.edu/meec/module21/CSOs.htm
Apparently there was a nightsoil dump around here in the days before Brisbane was sewered - the name "Pooh Corner" is a throwback to this. I guess maybe at some point there must have been a small treatment plant of some kind here too.
Great place, thanks for showing it to us.

We decided to have a look around Pooh Corner this morning before heading to my mother's nearby for lunch of pork roast. I figured it would be a good way to work up an appetite. Unfortunately, Miss 10 was unwell so we deposited her at mum's first to lie on the couch and watch movies.
Time was by now beginning to run out to get to lunch so the family went on ahead while the geoboy and I collected the remaining caches.
But now the geoboy had made the decision to carry on back to the car and now there was one.
Approaching GZ it was pretty obvious from the cache name where to go. I was a bit surprised by the cache in the end but a clever hide.

An enjoyable walk through the hundred acre woods today with engphil , palopinto , madscatts geosie, bopsygirl and the minniemoo tribe .
What a strange thing to find out here . The kids (and grown ups) were all quite curious about this circle and enjoyed the little climb up before madscatts made a quick find . TFTC

Find #1874 at 13:31 with the whole family plus 1MinnieMoo, 1MinnieMooJnr, 1GiantPanda and ScattsMadhouse and MadScatts.
MadScatts found this one very quickly, while the rest of us were distracted searching about 5m away. [^][^]
We were all very impressed at that, as this is certainly not the easiest cache in here -- well done, MadScatts.
Thanks for the cache, moo73.

As we approached the concrete structuring here there was much conversation about what it was. I tried convincing the geokids that perhaps it was a sunken castle, thinking they may become a little inspired at this spot again. We all ventured forth and the 4 adults knew where we thought it wwould be, however it was an impressively quick find by MadScatts as the rest of us checked what we thought was the likely spot. I don't think any of us quite know how she did it! Most amazing find of the day, with the speed it was found, all things being considered. Thanks for the cache moo73.

What is this?
I did comment to Rhyssa6 that it looked like an old sewerage treatment plant. Eeewh.
Well, the gps told us it was around 19 metres away so we climbed up and over.
Not here, not there.
Aha, Rhyssa6 soon had cache in hand and was signing the log. Who would have thought to put one there?
Thank you, an old hag for doing so.

We spotted the Circle of Wisdom as we approached and when we got near the gps was telling us we needed to be on the other side of it. I gave a slight internal groan at the though of standing in the circle as it has no shade anywhere and the sun was really beating down by now.
We wandered back and forwards a bit before I noticed something which on closer inspection revealed a cache. We added our names to the log and replaced it as found and then headed back towards some shade.

A water reservoir?
Finally found the obvious spot which originally looked like a blank surface. TFTC

This was an interesting place, I did wonder what's under the rocks though! Quickly located the cache and climbed back down, the rain started again while I was up in the circle.
Needing some numbers so that I can achieve a milestone at a suitable time for me, I headed out to this trail. I wandered along the trail to this cache from another nearby. At GZ, I made a quick find. I signed the log and returned the cache to its hiding spot before heading to the next one. TFTC
A caching day out with Mischievous Maverick today.
We wanted to ride our bikes today but didn't want to contend with traffic.
This fitted the bill perfectly.
Great containers!
Thank you moo73 for placing and maintaining this cache.

Find No: 5038. Visiting from Newcastle, staying with friends at Greenslopes, brought their little dog Tina (a Papillon) for a walk (on a leash), found 20 in Pooh Corner before we had to adjourn to the nearest watering hole, thanks for the cache moo73!!
On a caching day with Jan (of the Green Geckos fame), we did a Where I Go (my first), other caches, then Jan decided I needed to become a 3/3 Well Rounded Cacher - we completed that.
Once I was a 33WRC, we decided that a visit to POOH CORNER might be just the ticket, so here we are!

Well we all loved visiting this spot. It was so different. The cache hide was awesome. Luckily the GPS was spot on and GZ was obvious. Found in seconds. All three of us climbed up to where we needed to be. Then we carefully came back down and went exploring. It was so fascinating looking around here. The little building with half of its floor caved in was Lincoln's favourite. He told a story about a soldier who had gone in there to go to the loo and had accidently shot his gun. The shots from the gun and blown holes into the bottom, which is why there are bits of the floor missing today. We spent quite a bit of time checking this area out. A fav point from us for this nice location. TFTC.
We had a free day on our long weekend in Brisbane so decided to head out to find the Pooh Corner caches. We saw three kangaroos and a goanna on our 4km walk. TFTC
Quickly spotted the circle, now to find the cache. This took quite a while and we were almost ready to give up when we finally spotted the sneaky hide . TNLNSL TFTC .
Out and about today getting my daily find before going to a wedding this afternoon.
This one was missing last time I was here.
A quick find here today.

This cache had me going around in circles - quite literally. I found the structure without any issue, but the cache took a little more guidance. I actually needed to sit and go through the logs with considerable detail, before I had a hint which led me to the right place. My GPS couldn't settle and I wouldn't have found this one otherwise.
