Sorry guys, the spider has gone walking out from his home and has not been seen since. I currently do not have a replacement available so am going to archive this cache.
Thought for sure I was in the right place and there was a very good hidey hole but couldn't find anything there.
No luck although pretty sure we were in exactly the right spot. Cache may have been taken or fallen further down where I couldn't get my hand.
This cache was attempted as part of the Palmerston North leg of our "Road to 6,000" Extravaganza for 2016.
Found what we believe was GZ and a likely spot but no sign of the cache!

In Palmerston North for the weekend with a group of caching buddies, with the aim being to get some bug numbers on the Saturday. This one was found after arriving in PN on Friday night, and picking up one of our group up from the airport, who had flown in.
Walked in by the aid of torchlight, and looked in a few places before finding the cache. Glad I wasn't the one reaching in there and pulling out a cache that looked like that! Cool container.
Log signed as SEAC (South East Auckland Crew) to save log space. TFTC!

Came with stik-a-crane to collect the path tags that were left for him to collect. But sadly they were not there
Our team from Auckland wanted to do a major day of caching, so headed down to Foxton area for a massive day. We got about 205.
Very sorry for the generic logs, but when doing so many in one day very hard to make notes on each.
But a big thank you to all the cache owners for putting out all of the great caches we visited.

I was in the area meeting up with a group for a caching adventure this weekend and had it on good authority that there might be a pathtag sitting here for my daughter whom has been collecting them since she found her first one a year ago... Landed in Palmy North around 8pm and was kindly met by some of the group whom had driven down during the day and headed for GZ.... Google took me to a non entry into the park momentarily but we soon sorted this and started the hunt for the cache... searched about 5mins and made the find...nice hide, now for the pathtag.......nope not here...... never mind we did our best to get here sooner....signed in as SEAC to save logbook space.
and a Fav given.

No room on either of the two log sheets but we just found a little spot to log it on.
We decided to knock off a few local caches while it was not raining today. Cleo found this one quickly while Possum was trying to get a decent GPS fix! She was the brave one - we loved the camo. Definitely a favourite.
Great little hiding place. You will know it when you see it. Lucky the 3 year old is fearless. TFTC.
Knew what I was looking for but didn't suspect where I had to look and this added to the grossness of this cache. Great fun, thank you
Yikes that was nasty. Even though I knew it was fake I dropped it in a hurry. TFTC (I think)
Braved the horrible weather to find this wee cache. Nice chance to visit a place in Palmy I've never been.
Had a few extra hours to waste before heading home after work, what else to do but geocache awesome little cache and perfect geocache hidey hole !
Very cool little cache. Even though I knew it wasn't real, there's still that little jump when you tough it. Thanks!
There is no way i would have got this is Miss 4 wasnt with me. Found the likely location, but NO NO not putting my hand in there haha. Mr 6 wasnt keen either, but She was straight in there feeling around. Pulls it out and lets out this huge scream and drops it Cool Cache. Thanks for the hunt and entertaining find
I came over to New Zealand to meet my son, who was staying for nearly six months on the other side of the world. Our intension is, to travel now for 4 weeks through this fantastic land and visiting a lot of fine spots on both islands.
Met in Auckland, our first trip led us to the Far North with some spectacular locations. It was a lot of driving, but we think, it was worth the result.
The second part of our travelling route led us to the south. Going via Hamilton with some fine locations, Hobbiton was an absolutely must of our "unexpected journey" . Went then to Tauranga with a hard upclimb to Mt. Maunganui, visited Rotorua to see lot of vulcanic activities, have had a lot of fun with Zorbing and Claybird shooting and drove then to Taupa, to doing Skydiving.
Napier with it's beautiful Art Deco district and the great Aquarium was the next stop.
Final destination on the North Island was Wellington, were we visited some great places and met some friends from Germany.
After crossing Cook Strait now we followed the east side of the southern island down to the most southern point of New Zealand.
Blenheim with its wine yards, fantastic dolphin watching in Kaikoura, the story of earthquake in Christchurch, following the famous coastline down to Dunedin with its beautiful and interesting places as well as the nice city of Invercargill were our main spots on this part of our journey.
Being in the South, the way now went up on the west coast back to the north. Crossing the Fjordland with its famous landscapes we've reached Te Anau to do a private flight over Milford Sound, then spend in Queenstown some time with the most spectacular activities ever done (Canyon jumping and Shotover canyon jetriding were some unforgetable experiences!) the way led us to the glaciers, up to the nice town of Westport and further to Abel Tasman Park to doing an unbelievable hike trough the park and an outstanding kayak tour with seal and bird watching.
Nelson, Picton; Cook Strait is waiting again for us.
Of course, even if was is not our main activity during this holidays, we were looking for some caches, which are laying beside our route.
So this cache was one of those, we've picked up.
Many thanks to stardust718 for this fine cache and best greetings from Germany.

Geesss this was bravery...never mind the arachnids, watch out for the dead rats on the way! This was a case for using implements to retrieve the cache. Lots of creepy crawlies.
After failing to find another one we had to attempt this one instead to keep our daily streak up! Fortunately we got this despite it almost being dark as we had spent too long failing on the first one! Cool cache!! Thanks
Ticked off another new playground to visit with the kids & of course grab a geo...."yes Miss 3yo, there is an ulterior motive to going to different playgrounds!" We got rained out while playing so made a quick dash to the trees to find some creepy crawlies. TFTC
Being a Saturday I thought I might get thwarted by sports, but no, not a soul about. Spotted the hiding place easily but was rather cautious about reaching for the cache. A nice fun one.

Daughter found location and freaked out when removing from hiding place! Awesome
7am on a weekday morning was a good time to do this! Absolutely no one around
Found this one this afternoon with my friend... who was scared of spiders. It gave him the biggest fright. TFTC
After completing the Rotorua Tough Guys & Girls Challenge in the weekend and then having to drive south for work on sunday this was going to be one of those very long weeks. After having completed a series of presentations yesterday today was going to be a simple one, training the Local Rep in the morning before heading back home hopefully in a lot better conditions than wha tI drove down here in on Sunday.
But first to collect a few caches before breakfast so that I make the most of the day while being in a different area. this was allbeit a nice frosty start to the day and a nice simple find once GZ was reached, nicely themed cache
Thanks for the placement and the fun

Cute & creepy. Found. Log book hard to extract & FULL so did not sign. Will return to sign another day. Lovely spot on a sunny day.
Third of the afternoon. A clever hiding spot and a clever container. As others have said the log is full. TFTC.
Log book is full and needs replacing. Did not have one small enough to put in on today's visit, sorry.
Cache # 2,563 - a quick find with Astro Hunter and Violet Butterfly. Barely managed to squeeze our initials in next to someone else's entry from March. TFTC!
Did today with The Wandering Dragons and Astro Hunter. Made us jump! Thanks.

#6667. A short walk in the wet Hokowhitu Domain this morning. The place was all quiet. Quick find. Excellent hide. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry, except the logbook was completely full. Managed to squeeze our initials at the end.
- Serving Beer Since 1865 (pathtag)
Left nothing, signed log. Thanks for the cache.

A quick find on a nice sunny day.
I squeezed my name in next to spudnz, as the rest of the log is fairly full.
Nice hide.
Thanks.

This should be called "face your fears and do it anyway" I reckon! Nice hide! The log book is full to capacity. I signed over the intro bit, as there is no more room. Tftc
Found the right tree easily enough, but struggled a little to ind the cache until the toddler ran away, turned around and there was the GZ! Nice hide, tftc, toddler loved it and insisted on replacing the cache himself
A bit of a chilly day today. There were a couple of muggles huddled up in their cars at the car park, but none on the playing fields.
We were pretty sure what to expect when we arrived at GZ, but used the torch on the cellphone to have a peek first just to be sure. Yip, that one was a beauty!
Thanks for the fun cache stardust718

TFTC. Found while visiting from shaky town Christchurch. Love the container. I'll give it a favourite.
Found it as part of a Geocache introductory night with Hokowhitu Guides. Lots of screams when they encountered the "guardians"!
The Hokowhitu girl guides have found it. There was a lot of screaming. But tftc
A quick find by LCBuilder who then threw the cache at me! I should have expected it but still scary! TFTC
We had a good idea what to expect, but even so when Mr G pulled it out he quickly dropped it - an accidental fumble he claimed! Hmmmm... A nice hide and a quick find. TFTC
On my first visit today there was a number of jr cricked games on and spectators sitting just metres away. On my second visit the cricketers were all gone and I quickly found an arachnid (or 2!). TFTC
All quiet in the park today - infact its muggle free. An instant find on a gorgeous, hot, sunny afternoon.

Found but forgot pen. Will come back and log this. Poked with stick just to be sure
Found today during my lunch break. I initially was on auto-pilot and headed towards the corner of the trees where a cache had previously been hidden ("There's a hole in my cabbage").
My GPSr pointed me elsewhere, but was bouncing all over the place (hardly surprising given the canopy coverage), finally leading me to a likely GZ.
I definitely found the hint item, and then also found a Phasmatodea. It was easily 15cm long and well camouflaged
Thanks for helping me tick off another dot day.

It was decided that three of us would meet up at the start of the gorge walk to tidy up some un-found caches in the area. Since I didn't start work until later I left early to pick up some caches on the way. I had an unsuccessful start to the day with a DNF and two unable-to-be-attempted caches as council workers were in the way.
This was my first successful find of the day. The park was empty which made for an easy and quick find. I'm not too worried about putting my hands in dark places.
Thanks for the cache and the smiley.

Out on a short road trip with tmann421 on Waitangi Weekend. We were headed to a Palmerston North event when we called in to collect this one.
A nice quick find.

Found with Tommygun9 on a super hot afternoon. I identified the likely location but wasn't willing to use my own hand to search it out so delegated the job to TGun9Jr who took great delight in searching for me. Finally Tommygun9 retrieved the cache so we could sign the log. Thanks Stardust, I drove past this park everyday thinking there should be a cache in it.
With almost no Palmy caches left to find we decided to go for a bit of a mission today in the very hot weather.
This was today's first cache and after a short walk it was AtomsNZ and JrGun9 who found it while I did a quick check of a few other areas. I had to wait for JrGun9 to finish looking in the caches location before I could actually grab it, he's a pretty good cacher already at a little over a year old.
Nice hide, very well done.

While back in Palmerston North for a couple of day between "holidays" i needed a cache for today so i had kept this one for such an occassion. ( to keep my 3 on each date going) ...I had to go out onto the field a couple of time to get better direction/readings etc but my GPS did take me to right spot. I found the creepy thing but no cache! so i neeed to do a bit more searching for this and came up trumps. I replaced the cache where it should be firmly i hope.Photois of the grand old gum tree as you wak into the treed area... Thank you for this cache.

OMG I put my hand in and there it was. But that's not all I got. OMG. I'm just going to cry in a corner
Took two little girls with me to find this one, aged 9 and 6. I had a fairly good idea what to expect but kept quiet. The 9 year found the right place, put her hand in, pulled it out and screamed! I felt rather guilty ... however she is still keen to come geocaching with me another time I remember being here before, thanks stardust718.
After a day of no cache finding yesterday due to mrs capperz birthday it was business as usual/resumption of finding whilst calling in for this cache on the way to the airport for my return to the South Island. Parked in the nearby car park and had a natural feeling of deja vu, we found the previous cache hide here (though there was much dog mess around at that time)
No problems this time and I had an idea of what to look for so didn't spend too long looking thankfully on this hot and windy day. Tried a few options at the upper level before trying a different level and gaining success.
Thanks for the cache stardust718 and another Palmy cache ticked off

A quick find at dusk to keep our finding streak going for another day. Was a bit concerned that the smartphone GPSr might not be accurate enough under the trees but in the end it was close enough to spot the hiding location. Used the 'torch' on the phone to confirm that it was the cache as light was fading fast... TFTC stardust.
