Cache was being guarded by a big fat red-back spider so be careful! Thanks Aussie Fun Seakers for placing and maintaining the cache for our enjoyment. #2444
#4250 Fifth of nine finds while travelling from Echuca to Mildura. Found after a short search. TFTC
Thank you so much to Aussie Fun Seakers for your caches. Tamagotchi key word for my none geocaching friends who embraced my searching on a lovely weekend away celebrating milestone birthdays. Ps ended up buying mints after finding so many in this areaLove Cathy Freeman and remember moment when she won her momentous 400m - epic Australian sporting memoryRegardskbucky
After a short stop in beautiful Cohuna a place quite different to many other places we visited it was time to move on. But first we had a few more caches to search for before moving on traveling through Koondrook and Barham and then on to Murrabit and Lake Boga before arriving in Swan Hill. They were lovely small country towns each with their own charm. On the way we did plenty of caching which was made easier by having good places to pull over with a caravan in tow.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Aussie Fun Seakers.**SKI Pair****
There were no roaring crowds when we crossed the line and got our gold medal. SL TFTC
Canberra GeoBash DashDay Two: Barham to Corowa via SheppartonWeather: Perfect! Smokey in NE Victoria. Last night and tonight Im sleeping in NSW, but the bulk of the day will be spent in Victoria, as thats where all the caches are! First cache of the day right here, pretty straightforward. Yes, I clearly remember where I was when that race was run. What an inspiring woman. Thanks for the hide Aussie Fun Seakers.
We finally got the chance to come up and camp at Gunbower Island for a few days. While there was lots of relaxing and fishing going on, there was also some geocaching to be done. After the local Parkrun and then breakfast, it was time to find a few caches before heading back to the Island. Well if you saw her Olympic runs at the time, you would never forget the feeling of pride and respect that Cathy Freeman gave Australians. TFTC Aussie Fun Seakers. (All good at GZ too).
Of course I had to do this cache...I still remember the exhileration when Cathy Freeman won Gold in 2000! After a marathon trip to SA with some geobuddies its now time to head back east and to higher altitudes. The incessant rain over the last few days has made roadside and urban caching go to the top of the list. Apart from that, I'm on a multi mission that includes 20 plus caches challenge in various LGA's. This is another late night find in the dark!! TFTC and the FUN.
Found at 10:37 AM GAFF1 in the company of geono.
Never forget that fantastic run in the Sydney Olympics! Found in a nice hole that a few spiders have been webbing
Thanks to Aussie Fun Seakers

Luckily no snakes today... found with CPWanderer on our drive home from Rutherglen Mega. TFTC
I have been Geocaching for the last year as part of team Dromaniax. We have enjoyed the Geocaching caching around a lot of Victoria in that time. From our first trip up to the Murray River, the next trip to Lake Eildon and the area around Buxton, an epic trip to the Little Desert to attack the This is SA series, then a great trip with our father to the High Country in Victoria, a trip to the Mornington Peninsula and a trip to the Albury-Hume Reservoir area.
I finally decided to set up my own account and am claiming all the caches I have found as part of Dromaniax.
Thank you for this Traditional cache Aussie Fun Seakers.

Road-tripping, thanks for bringing us here! So much easier in dry weather. Kept an eye out for nope ropes. Cheers from Andy and Tam
Today was our day to hit up Cohuna, reasoanbly happy with our haul and thoroughly enjoyed the explore. Spent a bit in the local butchers, some yummy offerings to be had. Another quick sportsman cache to add to our tally. Tftc
Thanks Aussie Fun Seakers. Found on our way to Port Pirie. All good with the cache. x
Had a great day out with LittleBoss2 where she clocked over her 800th find. Not a great day weather wise, but a great day cache wise in and around this cache rich town. Our thanks to all the CO's for their part in our tour, and for very accurate coords despite the clouds above.
Away for a couple of days with Bogonghazy. Quick easy find. Thanks for placing the Geocache
A lovely Saturday morning greeted us after a night with a fair bit of rain as we awoke right next to the mighty Murray River, and after breakfast, we set off for a day of caching. We had several target caches in mind, and we were happy to pick up whatever attracted the eye as we drove around. This cache seemed like an excellent place to start, and it was great to start the day with a smiley. We found the cache fairly quickly. The cache is in perfect condition. Thank you for this cache Aussie Fun Seakers.
Last day of our sneaky family getaway to Cohuna.
After a trip to Echuca this morning to ride the paddlesteamer with the hounds, some exploring of the Torumbarry Weir and Thomsons Weir on the way home, a lovley journey along the Gumbower Island drive and a quick rest nearby, we set out to turn this one in to a smiley.
Quick find, which was well appreciated after our busy day!
Thanks for placing the cache and an opportunity to come and explore this lovely area.
Took nothing, left a TB that has been in our hands for longer than it should have been, but can now continue on its travels.

Found this one in walking distance from the motel I am staying in. Lovely morning for a walk. Cathy would have ran. Thanks.
Another quick find - maybe not as fast as Cathy Freeman - but we did it! SL at 11.12am Left: card #8006 TFTC Aussie Fun Seakers - and on we go further West!
Making our way across to Barham after today's event

With the promise of much warmer weather we set out early for a day's caching around Leitchville and Cohuna. As on previous days we found a variety of caches in historic and interesting locations. Hard to realise it is 20 years since she won in Sydney.
Our thanks to 'Aussie Fun Seakers' for adding this cache to the geo-gameboard.

Thanks for the cache. We share a distant but common bond with this athlete, our daughter is also an Australian Olympian who competed at the Rio Olympics in 2016. Watching what is going on for those (many who are good friends) who have trained hard and expected to be in Tokyo at the moment is both tragic and heart breaking after the time, work and money they have invested. Here's hoping Tokyo 2020 ONE can go ahead, but at this stage I won't put money on it. Attached a pic of Aislin with Mary Hanna (youngest & oldest individual athletes as team members at Rio) that featured in media during the Rio Olympics.
Found during our COVID 2020 Murray River trip. While Melbourne was in a state of turmoil rural Victoria was still okay, and with 4 weeks leave, and all the borders closed we decided the only warmish place in Vic was going to be as north as we could get. After a decade or so travelling north and west we started on the trips we'd left til later - the Murray River. Starting from East Gippsland we got to Wemen out of Robinvale before they announced Victoria was going back into Stage 3. Now we're working our way back home and avoiding Melbourne. Found this along the way. TFTC. DJ

Camping on the Koondrook canoe trail after the easing of restrictions and ducked out for a short cache session nearby. A nice quick find and continued on the trail to add to the tally. Shame about all the rubbish nearby
Thanks for the hide.

Heading off further along the road today and the caching goes on with ilook4geo. This was a nice quick and easy find. The log was duly signed and all was put back as it had been found. Thanks for this cache placement go to Aussie Fun Seakers.
It was a fun time doing some caching with goingplaces2. This was a really good cache to find as there were no muggles around. Both names were added to the list before we moved on. TFTC.
09/02/2020 come to Cohuna heaps camping and visiting friends. Won't be able to pass this way now without thinking of the cache!
Cathy Freeman was easy to catch today in wet and windy conditions. However she was not catchable in the year 2000 and her feats will always be remembered.
Thanks Aussie Fun Seekers. Time now to head south.

The Sisterhood of the Cargo Pants managed to get a weekday of caching organised so we could get up to Cohuna for the event. We cached via Pyramid Hill and collected a few along the way.

Found by Mary and David at 1310. What a thrill to watch her win gold, in that unforgettable outfit. Lots of Olympic memories revived. Our thanks to Aussie Fun Seakers.
Miss 12 made the find before we even had the chance to get out of the bus. SL. Left a minion took nothing. TFTC, AFS!
Day 2 of our brief family getaway.
Far too hot today so after one quick find this morning, we spent the day swimming & relaxing. After dinner at the local tavern, we grabbed torches and headed out for a few more.
Quick find here.
Found with boo09, neisha07 & chan02. TFTC

Having spent the night in Mildura while following the speedway solo champs, I left this morning on my journey to Undera for the next round. Found this as I was heading towards Along the Murray Valley Hwy. tftc.
Heading home after a week in Renmark for a family holiday for the week. Taking the opportunity to grab a few finds along the way but more retricted, while towing a 24 foot caravan behind. Enjoyed the drive up the river and taking a few diversions along the way. Interesting to see the different agriculture, crops and landscapes along the way but if it wasn't for the river, it would be a very different story, as it is in the dry areas, further a field.
Another chance to stop off and stretch the legs while making this quick find.
I am currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. As of the start of 2018 my average was only 47 words per log, which seems a long way from the 100 target. Given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After over 7000 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 60 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before the end of next year. It's surprising how much is has increase since doing this.
Thanks Aussie Fun Seakers for placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play.

This cache was found in the most obvious place at GZ but of course it was the last place I checked.
Recently read a biography on Cathy Freeman. A great insight in to her life. What an amazing ambassador for Australia and the aboriginal people.
Thanks.

I had a few extra days off work so BettyBoo3747 and I decided to nip across to Swan Hill for a few caches. Been quite a while since we have been here and there are lots of new caches to do.
Trip home to Beechworth today after the morning in the Catalina Museum at Lake Boga. We picked up the odd cache on the way home.
We were looking around for the athletics track, but figured it was probably a 400 meter dash back into town from GZ.
Thanks, Robmc.

#14771. Our little holiday based at Lake Boga is over. After a visit to the Catalina Museum first up we headed the chariot towards home and gathered up a few caches along the way.
On the home straight now and just a few more before we must make some distance towards home. A quick find and sign and now off to visit Andrew.
Thanks Aussie Fun Seakers
