A quick cache check and all is good. GZ has not moved, it is safely hidden in the same place as it has always been. Looks like the fire station upgrades are all complete now.
Thankful to the previous finders log as it would have been hard to find otherwise. GZ has moved due to construction works. Not sure if temporarily.
Travelling down to the Mega event in Canberra and this is my sole cache to get on my list. Located in a very tucked away LGA it needed a dedicated trip to find a cache in the region. Although there is now a powertrail here I decided to grab the slightly older cache. It proved to be a very pleasant drive heading off the highway and through the countryside area. Wasnt to long before I had arrived at my destination. Parked and noticed with some concern the new work that is being undertaken on the driveway. Deciding to have a quick look I wander over and upon viewing the GZ I worked where I would hide something here and there it is, all safe and sound. Opening the cache snd flicking through the pages to the next blank spot I did express a giggle as the last finder is from my home location back up in Queensland. Anyway with the caching business sorted it was time to rejoin the Highway and finish my journey. Thanks for the chance to stop and take a purposeful wander.
How lovely that my job should send me out to this part of the world for a few days. And given I finish work in the early afternoon and I have a hire car, well of course I'm going to go geocaching. Convenient, right!? After my second day, I have a little more time, so head for the Maitland area. Now heading north for a circuitous drive has brought me to Martins Creek. On a perfect day this is just the loveliest place to visit. A tiny, picturesque, historical town. Exactly the kind of place a geocache (or two) should take me.With the multicache nearby now sorted out and signed, I head to this next icon. It'll be the last of the day, and I can continue my "scenic route" drive back to Singleton. There's nobody around and I can park almost anywhere. The listing has everything I need and it's a quick find, followed by a little jiggle to get it out and the logbook signed at 16:50. The nearby tap is handy for refilling my water bottle and I'm outta here. I really enjoyed my quick visit to Martins Creek, but time to keep moving (and get reception again - I'm expecting a call). Thanks for this geocache, Billy&Jad
Drove to area and navigated last few metres towards GZ without issue. Quick find. TNLNSL TFTC.
I got this one on my way home from Dungog. I enjoyed the drive in the country. The hint was helpful. Thanks for placing it in a nice spot
I detoured into Martin's Creek today after doing the Paterson AL and some more of Kingfisher' dog trail, but thanks to the onset of rain, this was the only one in town that I got to and found ... it helped that thanks to good coords, I was able to pull up right at GZ.
Thanks for a nice hide Billy&Jad.

Stayong in the area for work and finally have a day off to cache. Hopefully the first of many for the day. Tftc
Quick detour. It took me longer than it should have.... that’s how I know the time for lunch TFTC
Taking a side path from my intended plan. GPS not very happy here, but eventually locked in on it!
Great spot for a hide! Saw an elderly local going for a ride on his mower with his little JackRussell in a container on front. TFTC
Found with shaneo58's help doing some around Maitland area and part of the dog head trail, getting very windy and cold during the day, feeling like we are back in winter.

I was in desperate need to get away this weekend for some quiet and stress free time for myself, so I decided to go for a long drive up here to grab some select caches and camp out in the Barrington Tops NP. Just myself, my coffee and a small stash of food, with a bit oif rain... and sleep in the back of my Xtrail... should be a relaxing time...
Only to get rear-ended by a young driver on a quiet country road!
While my car was still drivable, the rear hatch-door was jammed shut. I was determined to keep my Zen state of mind and still go camping (It was a 4hr drive back home). I'd just have to climb in by the rear passenger door.
It got dark, so at the campground I made a hot drink, had dinner and read a bit before going to sleep earlier than usual. So I naturally woke up after my normal hours of sleep AT 3AM! TOO EARLY TO CACHE OR DO ANYTHING!
Hours later when the sun started to rise I continue my caching run. All was good for a few hours... and then I noticed my left-rear tyre go flat! My spare is beneath the luggage floor, beneath 2 drawers FULL of heavy camping gear, all of which I had to remove through the rear passenger door!
Fast forward a bit, the spare tyre on the car, the flat one back in the car, with all the rest of my stuff, and then I noticed my front one was flat AS WELL! No second spare!
The closest town 20km away, no tyre change store open until Monday, I could only try and keep it inflated with my little foot pump and top it up where-ever safe to stop, for the 300Km drive home.
Got home safely, despite heavy rain for the last hour and emptied out my car to get ready for the repairs.
AFTER ALL THAT I STILL KEPT MY COOL!
BUT THIS WASN'T WHAT I CALL A RELAXING WEEKEND!
Thanks for the caches.

Thanks for our very first cache My son Darcy found it and now he’s hooked! Thanks for making a perfect starter find.
I joined a trip to Maitland with Aquilus1, dty73, Tankengine, Barb2e, Kitty Katch & Joolay. The weekends main game was to do the dogs head series, but along the way we did some old caches around Sydney and did as many Maitland caches as time allowed. The return journey was via some old caches and some challenges that may or may not be met one day.
Day 3's target was a trip to Frying Pan. The trip was great and the caches along the way and there lots of fun. I was very disappointed at just how many people were camping in a spot like this, I cannot see how it could be enjoyed. The afternoon was finished in Maitland with the Walka Lake Adventure Lab, a fun diversion.
Thanks for the cache Billy&Jad

Quick find with Wazza9 and Liz and Bruce, stamped log and replaced. Thanks to Billy&Jad
TFTC,
I joined Liz and Bruce & Nana nel for 2 days caching around the area. Our primary goal was to complete the Dogs Head Trail but there are plenty of other caches to try and complete across several towns.
Great to have such a variety of caches.
Thanks to Kingfisher_au for providing a trail where we could work together with other cachers and enjoy each others company while building numbers and learning about so many different breeds.
Thanks Billy&Jad, I made the quick find here.
Adding a favourite and visited trackables.

Tftc, nice find on our detour from dogs head trail. Was surprised when xpt went past
With our luck today there were people at the building, so we nipped in and let them know what we were doing, not a problem we were told. SL TFTC
This cache is not too far from where my accommodation is, so a quick park and grab and another cache for today. Cache in good condition.
Such a lovely sleepy little town TFTC

The beautiful puppy geo art up Maitland way has been tempting me for months!, so when Joolay, Minniek, Fitzy_1965 and SpecimenX started to brew plans for a trip, I knew I was in. Making a whole long weekend of it, we’ve hunted down much needed counties on Friday, diverted to Jasmers, and picked up some extra cool little trails and night caches, all the while keeping our eye on the geo art prize So wonderful to have the chance to get away for some caching fun, and to catch up with some local cachers whilst we’re about. Thanks so much to everyone who has invested in these caches to make our wonderful weekend away a possibility. Thanks for the Cache.

Headed to the Maitland area with fitzy_1965 & SpecimenX for an extra long weekend of caching.
Day 3 saw us joined by nibletricecakes and Joolay again. After yesterday's mammoth effort we took it slow and headed up to Frying Pan caching along the way.
All caches where found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned. Logs were either signed or stamped as Capital Crunchers, CC, Kapital Krunchers or KK.

G'Day My Fellow Geocacher,
How are you my fellow Geocacher? I’m DARKSIDEDAN aka Daniel from Canberra, Australia and I have had the pleasure of finding your Geocache during my travels as a Geocacher. I signed the logbook in your cache either Darksidedan or Darkside or DSD. I have added your cache to my growing list of “Found It” logs.
I love discovering Geocaches, Trackable items and collecting Pathtags. I hope that you enjoy Geocaching as much as I do. For me geocaching is a way of life and when I am not Geocaching, I am thinking of Geocaching.
Here is a little information about me. I have been geocaching since 2015. At the time of finding this cache I have over 6000 finds plus 350 hides. I am the creator of the “Duck Dip” Lab Cache that won 2nd Place for the Australian Capital Territory in the State Vs State - Battle of the Lab Caches at the OzGeoMuster - The Gong Mega 2019 in Wollongong, Australia. In 2019, I won the right to place a Virtual 2.0 Cache from Geocaching.com, but I have not placed it yet. I am just trying to find somewhere that is worthy of a Virtual Cache.
Now let’s talk Pathtags. Currently I have over 4600 Pathtags in my collection plus about 500 Etagz. I currently have two of my own Pathtags (45762 & 46950) with another one in the works.
I have included with my Found It log an Original and One of a Kind, Geocaching poem that I have written. I hope that everyone who reads it gets some enjoyment out of it.

Geocache Poem by DARKSIDEDAN
My endless search goes on and on
Looking for treasures of every kind
Always chasing just one more find
Putting past DNF’s out of my mind
I step out into the world outside,
Seeking what is hidden from me
What size, shape or form will it be?
Only time will tell, I can’t wait to see
Will I find my prize at the end?
I will search in the failing light and cold
Filling with despair having looked everywhere
Where is this thing that gives my life pleasure?
Looking all around from every angle
I read the logs and check the hint
I curse out loud as I walk in circles
Screaming the bloody thing it not there
As time flies by and I fail to see,
Never once stopping to realize
It always been there before my eyes
No need for sorrow, there’s the Geocache.

I am currently writing very detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC called "The Author". This Badge challenges geocaches to write logs with an average length of more than one hundred words per log. As of the 25th September 2019 my average Found It log is 165 words per log. I would like to get all my logs up to more than 200 words per log but I will have to wait and see how I go. Currently I am just trying to get my average up by finding and logging as many geocaches as I can. My apologies to anyone who finds my lengthy logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain the highest level with this challenge. After more than 6,000 geocaches (which includes all cache finds up and including this cache, I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task very soon. Progress has been better than anticipated.

With a long weekend in Canberra, FurfacesLL #1 and myself decided it was time to get away and find a bit of warmth as the cold makes its way into Canberra. We decided to head up to Maitland as neither of us had been there before for Geocaching. We had our primary target set to complete the new Dog geo-art series, and we managed to do that within a single day, so we had plenty of time up our sleeves for other things. We enjoyed the series with the different containers and hide styles along the way. We decided to add a drive upto collect Frying Pan and also included another older cache on Mount Sugarloaf for the journey home.
Another minor detour to collect this one while out and about doing the dog head. Another quick find here in another area we have never been.
Thanks for the cache hide Billy&Jad and thanks FFLL#1 for another trip out and about for some quantity AND quality caching

I'm a bit behind on logging, but not too bad, it's only been a week . RGSBruce and I were visiting relatives who recently moved to Paterson. After a lot of running around the local area, last Friday was our first chance to go for a bit of a hunt. This was #2 after finding the Gostwyck Butter Factory. We probably parked in the wrong spot, stopping in the street, but still a quick walk to GZ and an even quicker find.
