So sad to log as a dnf! Were travelling BNE->SYD->Sunny coast as a bit of a driving holiday and stayed in Yamba last night. Visited Flinders Rose for a great breakup then set off on this coastal walk.. admittedly we werent super prepared to walk as far as we did but we completed all the checkpoints and got to GZ. Spent a good 15 mins being cut up by the overgrown grass/plants/spiky flora around GZ with no success. Then hiked back to town via the roads- much easier than the goat tracks of the coast walk
While visiting Yamba for a few days what better way to see the sights than via geocaching. This multi turned out to be perfect for us, it took us to some parts and sights of Yamba that we never would have visited. The views and the rocky shore line was absolutley spectacular in places. The tour took us the best part of half a day but then we did stop multiple times to either look at rock pools or detour to indulge in an ice cream. Towards the end we kind of did as one of the wp's suggested and went and tested the water by sticking our toes in it. From there it was an easy walk to GZ where we found the cache all ok in it's hiding spot. This Multi Cache receives a favorite point from us because it is well worth the time to include it in your visit to Yamba.TFTC
We are having an overnight at Maclean staying in the showgrounds. This is our last night on the road before returning to Port Macquarie.Today we are caching in the Maclean & Yamba area, there have been some amazing scenic views over the ocean while on our tour of the area.We had this planned for the afternoon. A good walk around with some great views. Bill found the cache quickly once at GZThanks for placing this cache Herbz FP given
Despite the website crashing and reloading our WP progress a number of times, we decided to trek on with the walk even with the light speckling of rain. Thinking that we might be able to find the cache at the end of the walk anyway. The walk was quite nice and the views spectacular. Just slightly frustrated that I have to log this as a did not fine
A great little walk and tour today as we explored the coastline with this intercache. It worked flawlessly and we gained the necessary coordinates to sign the logbook. A good hide as well. Thanks Herbz for the multi placement.
What a wonderful journey around the headlands and beaches. But the bushes and tracks are a mosquito paradise. Cache found and signed. TFTC
We started the day perfectly with a coffee with the co's in a most delightful location. After a short conversation we were off on our coastal walk. A most interesting style of cache certainly similar to an AL. The views were stunning in every direction. We enjoyed the experience very much and were able to find the cache. Thanks Herbz and fav point alloc
We test walked this intercache with our caching buddies Liz and Bruce. One of the waypoints which had unexpectedly changed since we first set it up needed a small tweak. The original container is likely still there but the tree roots seem to have engulfed it. As a result a new container is now in place nearby at a better location.
Checked up in this one today. There has been a lot of branches and debris fallen in the area of GZ which have likely covered the original container irrecoverably. We will replace it in the next couple of days.
Was funBut then details for lighthouse were wrongGoogle got me the right answer but the plaque says otherwiseThen bumped my browser and when it refreshed I was meant to go back to beginning so I abandoned missedBeautiful placeWould be better if the actual app could facilitate this style of multi cache
Had an enjoyable walk with an anticlimactic ending. Like others have said, the lighthouse needs googling (hint ends in a 6). Then from here the trail down to the beach is pretty much blocked off. I ended up doing a pretty muddy cross country bash to get within the 10m. Everything else worked beautifully. However at GZ just couldn't locate the container - there were a couple trees in the range, but only one had gaps big enough to fit the container, but we just couldn't find it.
I wanted to go to Yamba for a while and today was the day. While I was here I decided to do this cache.
I started off well and had a slight issue right at the end and needed to PAF. I enjoyed the views and walk.
Made it to GZ and soon had cache in hand.

So many pandanus trees! But witch one? We narrowed it down to a few, looked with no success. To well hidden for us! We will try again another day!
Well this one tested a few things today !
Patiences , communications, and maybe age and fitness . However the task was completed .. Took approx. 4 hrs including a lunch break. A lot of little stops taking in the scenery Thanks Herbs

We ventured into Yamba for a mid-day break from our travels south. This cache appeared to serve our purposes to get a good fill of ocean views and the cool air, as well as a good stretch of the legs -- I'd never bothered to tackle on of these types before, but it proved quite easy to follow along from WP to WP. While it was quite blowy, in some sections more than others, the environment and scenery kept givibg us the goods. Around 2hrs after we began we reached our final destination, and located the cache reasonably quickly and without issue. Thanks for the awesome adventure and excuse for a good long walk Herbz, FP deservingly added to your tally.
Well that was fun.
I took a detour to main but that was because I saw the title and went straight there instead of checking the coordinates and I had no idea about the shortcut down the hill.

What an adventure.
We rode past the start on Monday, and the website fired up and all seemed good to go, so Samuel and I came back today. We had two iPhones fully charged and ready to go, and a GPSr for backup, and to find the other caches along the way (which we didn't...).
Things got off to a shaky start, my iPhone 11 indicated where to go, but then seemed to freeze, with no updates as we went, lucky Samuels seemed to be working well and we found the first WP. But mine was glitchy, and I restarted the phone. Off again....
We eventually got past the next two WPs, loved the wall, which was a highlight.
Then Samuels phone was saying he'd missed one, he didn't want to backtrack so we were down to one phone, which was lagging. The website seemed to go offline for a few minutes at the lighthouse, then reappeared. Google was needed as well at the lighthouse. For the rest of the walk we had this anxiety hanging over us that at any second the website would evaporate or otherwise crash and we'd be high and dry.
After getting directions from a lady gardening we were off again.
We used a system - as soon as we had coords to go to, Samuel would put them in the Garmin, which would reliably navigate us to them, using the phone/website I think we'd still be out there... Eventually we fudged our way out to the point after a wrong turn, and finally had some GZ coords, which the Garmin faithfully took us to, where the nice container was found waiting. All signed and sealed up, we threw in a TB and set off for some refreshments and a ride home.
This is a great adventure, let down a bit by a flaky website unfortunately, but we got through in just on 80 minutes, so not too bad. Thank goodness for Garmin!
I'm adding an FP for a great effort in setting this up, and a great walk with my son.
I think the cache listing at Intercache needs a tweak as the lighthouse WP needs googling to answer.... TFTC!

This cache was the one that I wanted to target while visiting Yamba, and I am really glad that we did it, What a great walk!
It was a hot afternoon with the sun blazing when we set out with a backpack packing towels some water and some frothys. I've done a few inter-caches over the last few years, but none as long as this one. We were enjoying the walk so much that after an hour we hadn't gone more than a couple hundred metres from the first waypoint. This was when we realised that the inter-cache program needs to keep running, because it wasn't anymore. sheesh.. I volunteered to backtrack across the beach and hit those first few points again. Onwards we went and saw some local teens jumping from the rocks into incoming crashing waves again and again.. madness! At the lighthouse we had an issue but got around it with google. By the time we made it to the sea-pool we were hot so in we went for a swim.
It was at this point that (A) we were getting increasingly thirsty, and that hotel over yonder looked mighty enticing, and (B) we found that the program had once again been closed, losing all our progress once again (not pointing fingers).
Option A won out so that was caching done for the day... after a greasy breakfast we once again set off.... I will spare you that description though, and in much less time than expected we got to ground zero and very soon located the geocache.
Such a bittersweet moment.. I was glad to have finally come to the conclusion of this adventure, but it had taken me to so many great little spots that I could have happily done another dozen waypoints. We really enjoyed this one and took tonnes of photos. This find also happens to coincide with my 2000th smiley achievement which makes it all the more memorable. I would highly recommend this cache to anyone visiting the area, and have no hesitation awarding a favourite point to reflect that. Excellent work here Herbz, we very much appreciate the tour and of course the fun that this cache provided.

Hot walking today. Found while visiting Yamba on a day trip from Grafton. My first intercache, a bit like a Where-I-Go cassette. TFTC
We are visiting Yamba for the weekend for our wedding anniversary and grabbing a few caches while we are here. I can’t believe we walked all over town grabbing the other caches before we started this!!! We did have a great time following the coastline from location to location. This was our first Intercache and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We left a couple of path tags for the next finders. TFTC Herbz - a favourite from us
Beaut weather and a nice walk. Had to go off road to get the GZ but it was an easy find once I read the hint.
We enjoyed the beautiful walk. Then we enjoyed are cold drink at the hotel looking over the beach. We thought we had earned it. The whales were very active and great/exciting for the children/us all to watch.
We found that we had to google the lighthouse answer as it not located on any of the plaques.
Definitely best to do it at low tide. And best to bribe the kiddies and grandparents with a drink and ice cream/lunch.

today we agreed to meet old friends from Grafton at Yamba for fish and chips,so after lunch at the tavern father and son set off on coastal walk with wife and friends picking us up at the end.We were worried right at the start as we needed to go along the wall a bit and it was closed with machinery and stuff going on,but we walked down to the beach and up to the wall that way and bingo, this is a great walk which we had done the original multi and enjoyed it then as well,no problems anywhere and we thought it pretty cool using the phone for waypoints. Thanks Herbz.
Today we decided it was time to turn this to a smilie. It was a great walk but with 7 of us and 3 of those kids it definitely took us longer then the 1 1/2 hours but that could have been that the phones got very sticky and we did a fair bit of backtracking at times. This cache did what I think all caches should do, took us to some terrific scenic places and showed us what a gorgeous area it is. TFTC and a favourite point from me.
Found at 4:14 PM GAFF1.
That was the second "intercache" that we have looked for (btw - what is the difference between this and a WhereIgo?). The first one was in Stanthorpe which was a dismal failure as it would not show us the second stage, but we still managed to work it out by a fluke. This one worked flawlessly and we were so impressed at the scenery and locations that it took us to. However as we are not big walkers we were so glad that we were able to work out where to place the car to collect us at the end which saved a huge walk back It took us. It took us.1.15 hrs to complete which was just perfect as we then wanted to check out the Angourie Coastal walk before heading back to camp for a drink and preparing dinner.
Thanks Herbz.

We are staying in Yamba for a week and this looked like a good cache to check out the best parts of the coast. The Samsung S4 handled the Intercaching challenge quite well, but I also used the Garmin to move from waypoint to waypoint once I had each new set of coordinates, it was better at direction over longer distances. We made our way down the coast past some brilliant locations and finished not far from where we are staying. I was reluctant to go to GZ, I could see where the cache would be but had to cross an area being restored. However, a rough walk to GZ was followed by a retrieval and signing of a quite damp log where I had to search for a page dry enough to leave my mark. Thanks Herbz for a really great cache, a favourite for the work you had to put into this, and for showing us this beautiful coast.
Enjoying a long weekend in picturesque Yamba. Have previously visited the other caches close by, so today it was time for a coastal walk. I have been here many times, but never tire of the stunning coastal scenery, so I really enjoyed this little adventure dragging my SLR around for the journey and snapping many shots in the morning light. At GZ, I was a bit concerned that work in the area may have disturbed the cache, but a quick read of the hint soon had me in the right place.
Log is a bit damp, but still ok.
Thanks Herbz, love your work

Found it. Recent rains and floods have altered some paths so needed to back track around a few places. Left new pen.
Was a great walk on a windy day, luckily it was quiet enough that we didn't have to dodge muggled

With a few days off work, I headed down south and eventually made my way to Yamba. A quick search of local caches quickly revealed this one so I headed off and made this my priority for today It was a stinking hot day, however this cache was a superb way to see the area! I even managed to meet a visiting backpacker from Germany . I made my way around collecting the information and soon found myself at the final GZ, and after a quick search off the trail I had the cache in hand and added my name to the logbook [^]

Our first intercache. Had looked at this for awhile but hadn't had time to do it. Finally got to it tonight and enjoyed the walk around the scenic Yamba area. TFTC. Another favourite vote.
TFTC. This was such a great Multi and walk, really gave us a great morning adventure on our stop over on the way north.
Time from car to car (start to finish) was exactly 2 hrs. It was about a 10-15 min walk back to the car from the finish, so not so bad. We had a couple of drink/snack stops along the way, plenty of photo stops and I was carrying a 2yo. We did have a pretty quick walking pace though. Even had my muggle brother & sister in-law along for the trek.
I highly recommend this Cache for anyone visiting Yamba, it's a must do.

Just for the CO's info the log book is very wet, still intact, and worked for us with a gel pen, but don't think a pencil would of worked.
Captain Terror, Crew 153, Pprime, and myself were in the vicinity grabbing a couple of caches.
Pprime mentioned wanting to do this one during the week before we headed down. I was unable to locate it. I was used to intercaches being listed as "puzzles". But there you have it - this one is certainly not.
We enjoyed this one - at breakneck speed (well - breakneck for a slow Fangsoki) - as we were running out of daylight. It's good to walk about places you only have driven - and you don't realise how much you miss.
We finally arrived at the final GZ. We were a little worried as some work had been done nearby by the looks. But we soon found the prize - safe and sound. We signed the log and returned it to its home.
Another excellent Team Herbz cache. TFTC

Out today driving with Fangsoki, Captain Terror and Crew153. On the 'want-list' was this cache, so here we alighted. With the benefit of prior knowledge in the group we sent the vehicle ahead and trundled along the coast ... walking ... at Yamba ... which is what this was all about. It was a tad windy, and rain threatened, but held off (mostly) for us. The walk was muchos enjoyas.
Surprised by the amount of people out on the coast all along, even a wedding party, on a Friday. Popular place.
In due course we turned to the final location, cleverly hidden (My hands hate these things, but this one was perfectly fine for me). Nice container (I was paid to say that).
Thanks for placing this cache, Herbz. Found in good condition.

I was with Fangsoki, Pprime and Captain Terror on a day trip from Brisbane. We were targeting some of the older caches in the area. This cache was one that we found on the way.
While we were in the area to get a few other caches we found time to take the walk around Yamba to complete this intercache. We only had to do it in one direction as the ones who had done it previously drove around to pick us up at the final. It was an enjoyable stroll with some great views.
We were concerned that the cache might have disappeared as there has been tree maintenance close to the location since the recent storms. Luckily the spot where the cache was located has not been disturbed.
Thanks for the cache Herbz

Well what a day, you certainly need to know how to operate the iPad.
This ended up taking 3 hours to complete due to a few backtracks because of not scrolling or swiping for questions and hints.
One hint I can offer without giving anything away, is near the life savers club, don’t go down onto the beach.
There is certainly lots of walking and great views to be had.
The only real down side is, that at GZ it is a couple of KM’s back to the carpark. (bummer)
Really enjoyed doing a intercache for a change.
TFTC, cheers.

I found this cache with TheGeoSnake, CachingPikachu ,Raynersinoz and Maggs2005. When we started this walk I didn't expect it to be so long but I think it was the most enjoyable cache we did today. On the way to GZ we had a few stops because everyone started to get hungry and thirsty , we stopped at the Yamba ice creamery for some really good gelato. After that we crawled to GZ everyone was so tired finally we made it to GZ everyone was so happy TFTC Herbz!
That was a long walk. Even with stops along the way and a few detours this cache still took the better part of 2 or 3 hours. Found with Maggs2005, TheGeoSnake, Eminoz04 and Raynersinoz. TFTC
Found with CachingPikachu, TheGeoSnake, RaynersinOz and EminOz04. Big walk but worth it to see some beautiful parts of Yamba. Had to have a wee break in the middle for an ice-cream, and do a bit of a car shuffle. Lots of fun. Definitely helpful to have multiple devices on the go. Glad when we found the GZ as batteries were running low.
Well where to start? Hmmmmmm. We might begin with the definition of ODYSSEY. Dictionary.com describes an odyssey as being "a long series of wanderings or adventures, especially when filled with notable experiences, hardships, etc", so today we didn't have an adventure, or an expedition, trek or quest, it was definitely an odyssey (the dictionary says so).
We're on holidays at the moment and while the geohubbies paddled, the geomums and geokids decided to have a go at an Intercache. I've done a Whereigo before, so armed with phones and an iPad mini off we journeyed (I don't think odysseyed is a word ). Now I should point out that we started at 10.15 am and finished at 1.45 pm. This also included gathering information for the earthcache, a quick search for one other cache and an emergency water and ice-cream stop. If you have younger geocachers with you take PLENTY of water and add on an extra hour (at least) - the geokids with us today are seasoned walkers and adventurers and even they were getting exhausted by the end. This info is not to put you off - the walk is awesome - it will just help to lessen the whinge factor and grumpiness (of the mums of course).
We got through half the WPs and everyone was getting tired and emotional - time for the best gelato I have ever eaten (better even than the gelato I ate all over Italy 2 years ago) at Yamba Icecream. I was a bit worried the Intercache would drop out on the iPad, but when we returned to restart our journey it was still working okay. Phew! We used the iPad to give the coordinates of the Intercache and a phone App to add in each waypoint - it was easier following the compass on the phone App than the one on the Intercache.
We had a little bit of trouble getting to one of the waypoints and chose a wrong path which had us walking a bit out of our way, but eventually we had the coordinates for GZ flash up onto the screen. I have never been so relieved, especially as the iPad was down to 10% battery. We practically ran to GZ and with more than a little excitement we found the cache. It has been wet inside, but the log was okay to sign. Thank you so much Herbz for our excellent odyssey. We were all exhausted, but after lunch and some water we went for a swim at Angourie Blue Pool, where we got to go on another Herbz adventure. I have run out of fave points, but will give you one when I've earned some more

Found with CacchingPikachu, Eminoz04, Maggs2005 and Ranyersinoz after a very long day and a tiring walk. Detoured between some waypoints to find other caches. This is my first inter-cache and I loved it because it took us to amazing views and places I wouldn't have found and been too otherwise. We got to the fifth waypoint and decided that we were tired and had sore feet, and it was time to have some ice cream from the Yamba Icecreamy (definitely some of the best ice cream ever!). We should have checked how many waypoints there were before starting because for the last four or five waypoints there was a lot of whining and asking how many waypoints were left. WARNING AND NOTE TO OTHER CACHERS: Before attempting this cache and others it is a very good idea to check how many waypoints there are to avoid whining, complaining and asking are we there yet. After sore feet and low battery on devices we finally found it! YAY! As we were on the last walk we asked the very scary question what would we do if we did all of that walking and it had been muggled or it wasn't there. It was a good idea that we took more then one device as we were worried our battery might run out. From rock hopping, walking and whining to having sore feet and asking if we were there yet this was quite an adventure. Thanks Herbz so much for this adventure and my first ever inter-cache!!
Well where do I start with this epic adventure as EPIC it was. I only cache with my GPSr and take my I Pad with me for this type of hunt. I made sure I had fully charged batteries in the GPSr and a spare set and that the battery in the IPad was at 100% charge. I do not use my smart phone for caching.
Parked close to the given parking Co Ordinates allowing for the fact that there was heavy traffic control as I had walked in on a ful scale Tri Athlon. Walked to start point then was guided to the second waypoint where I answered the easy question. Then guided to the third way point then guided to the fourth way point. How the dickens am I going to get over there. Well Soon discovered a way and walked up a set of steps and an incline then out to the fourth way point. Then from there to the 5th WP where I again answered the question correctly. This is where the fun started as the software had re set it self so as there is no recovery option I had to go back to the start and commence this walk again. This time I knew where I was going so I took the car between WP 2 3 and 4/5 and 6. Now onto WP7.
Then I was guided downs to WP7 where I did not see the question so started my trek and I knew something was up when I did not see a set of goto co ordinates at the bottom of the screen. Tried to go back a screen and the software re set it self again. I went against my better judgement and down loaded the App for the smart phone and started this trek all over again.
Back to WP7 and answered the question correctly then drove over to a point where I could park. Now down to WP8. Gathered this one and now a short drive to the area of WP9 and found a convenient parking spot. A short walk following the IPAD to WP9. I am using the IPad with the smart phone as a back up and so far the IPad is working great for a change. Headed in the direction of WP10 and was soon walking in the direction of the final (GZ) Soon had the container and appended my name to the log sheet. All dry and in good condition. Well HIdden. Re hid as found and now a very short wlak back to the geo mobile. A favourite point for this one and photos attached. Now I have an App that I will probably never use again and am glad I only got the intro app and did not pay the $us9.95 for it.

Find No: 5167. Visiting from Newcastle, I like the Intercache concept being similar to Wherigo but anyone with a smart phone can do it. My trouble was, this being my first attempt and not normally a phone cacher, I came unstuck a few times particularly trying to read the screen and the directional arrow in the bright sunlight.
The biggest trap for me was that, after a few waypoints not requiring an answer, I took off from the swimming pool without noticing there was a question to answer hidden at the bottom of the page, I just did what it told me to do and took off around the rocks to the next beach waiting for something to happen. Finally found the question, phoned up Mrs Grub Fred to take me back to the pool and then back to where she picked me up.
That's when I had to backtrack along the beach to the rock shelf before continuing, although I did get a chance to save a boogie board rider from a terrible fate as he lost his board out the front of the rocks and it swept up out of his reach, threw it back in for him and he was most grateful! Photo of him back in action attached, thanks for the cache Herbz!!

TFTC This was my first multi and a very good work out as well. Many thanks and Christmas Cheers! Left a pen and ring.
What a great walk ☺️ After a few false turns we finally found GZ. don't go through the scrub, especially during the summer months as we came across 1 Mr. Snake sunning itssssself, look for the grassy track. Don't forget to make a pit stop at the Pacific Hotel on the way back to the car for a refreshing beverage.
Each year I like to get out of Brisbane for a week or so around my birthday in September. This year I decided to plan a road trip which would take myself, Captain Terror and catscatscats22 on a 2700km loop of southern Queensland and northern New South Wales. We were gone from the 18-24 September and visited Dalby, Miles, Tara, Surat, St. George, Lightning Ridge, Walgett, Coonabarabran, Tamworth, Uralla, Armidale, Maclean, Yamba then came home following the coast road.
This was the 105th cache for me for the trip and my **3700th** cache! We were all looking forward to this cache, so much so that we did the first half twice! We thought that we had enough time to get this one done before it got too dark yesterday but we got to the pool and decided it was too dark to walk along the rocks so we went and bought fish and chips and went back to our tents.
This morning we packed up the tent, grabbed breakfast and headed towards this one. Cats and Captain Terror grabbed my phone (which was the only device we could use) so I grabbed the Captain's nokia and left the pair to retrace our steps whilst I went and parked where we had dinner (and saw a bunny!) the night before.
I headed down to the beach and took a seat to wait. It took a while before I spotted the clowns playing around. I gave the Captain a hurry up call and soon we were on our way to the next spot. It was a delightful walk and another easy to follow intercache from Mr and Mrs Herbz. It wasn't too long until we had the final coordinates. Oh! I parked within 50m of that spot!
We headed over to the coordinates and once the cache was found we realised the logbook was wet. No problem, we have supplies! We replaced the logbook and dried everything out before replacing the container. Thanks for the cache Herbz!

For Net88’s birthday this year, she, Captain Terror, and I went on a road trip of awesomeness, taking us out west from Brisbane.
A total of six days, our whirlwind adventure took us West through Dalby, Miles, Tara and Surat, and then South through Lightning Ridge (the farthest West I’d been!). Then we’d continue South through Walgett, Pilliga, Baradine, and Coonabarabran to Tamworth. Then it was through Uralla to Armidale, and Maclean to Yamba, and finally back to Brisbane.
We saw kangaroos, emus, baby emus, kookaburras, giant guitars, so many sunsets, and so many snacks, thanks to the help of Snackman.
A nice holiday from work, it was also a great excuse to pick up geocaches along the way.

Roll on day two - up bright and early and back into it. We found a parking area closer to where we thought we might end up and backtracked to where we left off last night. In case you were wondering, intercaches don't save like that. Cats and I nominated to run the course again with Net doing a car shuffle to wait for us a little farther along. This was a great plan until cats and I found some particularly interesting rock pools and got mighty sidetracked, much to Net's disapproval as she watched us from the headland across the beach.
Into new territory and we enjoyed another walk out along a goat track on a headland which offered a new perspective and another bonus geocache find. We were now surely getting near the end of the thirteen waypoints! Once more we were walking on sand and this time I even took off my shoes for I spotted a lawnmower catcher in a sand dune near a convenient slope. It wasn't exactly like the tourism clips from Moreton, but we had some sweaty, sandy fun running up and sliding down the dune.
And so we had a final location and headed that way. Net's choice of carpark was splendid as we walked both towards the car and the geocache. At GZ we made a relatively quick find, however as noted, inside was powerfully wet - not something I expected of such a well constructed PVC tube. We took the lot up to the car. It seems the lid wasn't correctly put on at some point, so we dried it out, shouted it a new logbook and replaced in top condition.
Yamba Coastal Walk Intercache really was a highlight as far as geocaches go for the whole trip. No other way would we have seen so much of the town or the coast. Headlands, beaches, rockpools, swimming pools, geology and so on - we all had a fantastic time. I have no difficulty naming this as one of my favourites. Thanks for this intercache, Herbz

From 18 to 24 September, Net88, catscatscats22 and I embarked on a road trip to see some different parts of Australia. We drove from home in Brisbane to Dalby, Miles, Tara, Surat, St. George, Lightning Ridge, Walgett, Coonabarabran, Tamworth, Armidale, Maclean, Yamba, Ballina and home again, a drive of over 2700 kilometres, a few nights camping and 122 geocache visits to guide us along the way.
'This is a must-do cache if you are visiting the area' - I can only echo this sentiment from the geocache description. If you're in Yamba, this should be the first geocache you consider doing. For us, knowing Herbz who always hide a quality geocache and being a rare intercache, it was a must for us from before we even left home. It was not the quickest nor easiest find going, but worth every minute of it to show us the highlights of Yamba's coast.
Yesterday we had rolled into Maclean and set up our tents, then with only a few hours of the day left that we didn't want to waste, the Subaru was piloted out to Yamba to get this intercache done. For me, I may as well try to discover exoplanets with my naked eyes than have the ability to run an intercache, but Net's equipment was all over it. So, parked at the suggested waypoint, we headed off (I made sure to fill my pockets with snacks)
After 5 days in the almost-outback seeing emus and lots of dust, setting foot on the beach was rather refreshing. The waypoints ticked over quite nicely, no dramas at all - save for the sun getting ever lower. Along the way Cats climbed on installation art, Net had to hide from breaking waves behind a boulder and I admired some geology (and that was before someone published an earthcache there). Then it was a bit of uphill via another geocache find before the sun set.
We estimated we were two waypoints short of halfway, now with no more daylight left. But, we were having such a ball we carried on. There was no way, especially in hindsight we'd have finished it today, but we'll try. The steep downhill was interesting in the increasing dusk, but nobody got hurt. More beach walking and we arrived at where we decided to stop. It was ever such an interesting spot here and I watched waves and fish here for a while. The cartridge was saved and we legged it through town back to the car.

Lovely walk around Yamba Headlands with Anissa288, grabbed other caches in the way. First style of this cache I've done, has given me some ideas on one I would like to set up down Nambucca way

Wow. Were we plesed to finally tick this one off. It took us three days. Day one and after the fourth waypoint either technology or me pressing the wrong button on the phone reset us back to the start. Yesterday during a gap in some lousy weather we headed off again armed with a phone and a tablet in case a similar problem should happen. The ocean beat us this time.
While standing at waypoint three a huge wave hit the shore and totally drenched us and our devices. We hurried home to give them a good wipe down and dry off. So far they both still work.
Today we returned determined to locate thisand do it as quick as we could before the next lot of rain. All went smoothly till we got to GZ. Didn't look what the hint was so checked a few spots before finally locating it. Nice container, not sure how the contents has got so wet. Hard to sign log.
A great little multi and the first intercaching we have done. A lot better than Wherigo, downloading cartridges. Thanks for taking us on this lovely scenic walk around Yamba.

This is our first Intercache and what a joy it was. After the rain yesterday, today was perfect, and this is a spectacular walk and well worth the effort. Yamba is one of our favourite places and this made visiting here even more worthwhile. Thanks for the cache and well done Herbs. Will give a favourite point.
Out and about with Bristracker today before an event in Lismore tonight.
And a beautiful day it is today. We feared showers and cloudy weather (as that was the forecast) but instead it was warm and sunny and not a cloud in the sky.
This cache is one I have needed to complete the July Challenge cache, GC5JETV.
The last of the monthly challenge's.
We had low tide and enjoyed the fantastic walk along the various beaches and an easy find at the end.
A little water in the cache but the log book was OK. We dried everything out and replaced the cache.
Thanks for the cache

What a fantastic ride! Glorious day, perfect "winter" weather, beaches and hills, green grass and blue seas. Very glad Brother Colin talked me into visiting this area before the event in Lismore tonight. It was well worth the visit to this area. Cache has to get a favourite point from me.
This was our first visit to Yamba and we really enjoyed doing the coastal walk. Such a beautiful day today - it really did not seem like winter weather. Lots of great coastal scenery and the rock platforms were interesting. Picked up a few other caches along the way. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves on this cache. Picked up the TB to move on. TFTC
What an enjoyable walk! Started this cache with 2 phones, and we were so happy we did when one of the phones reset to the beginning of the trip...couldnt figure out a way to get it back to the 6th waypoint, so we continued with the phone that was still okay and just crossed our fingers...no dramas after that luckily and we made our way to GZ and made the find. Cache had a fair bit of water inside and the logbook was damp. We dried out as much as we could and replaced cache. Left 1 TB.
Thanks for an enjoyable cache!!! A new type for us too.

Swellerfungus and I had been out on a fishing charter the day before and stayed overnight in Wooli before leaving this morning before sun-up to commence the drive back to Brisbane. We gradually made our way up the coast and Yamba was the next stop. Another good looking DT rating for us, so it was definitely on the to-do list for today. I had stayed at Yamba once, many Easters ago and only had bad memories of being eaten alive the whole time by plagues of sandflies. No such dramas today and our little walking adventure took us to many places that I had not had a chance to visit on that previous occasion. I certainly felt overdressed in my hiking attire, and wished I had packed my togs for a swim after a nice warm walk. A wrong turn close to the end meant we kinda did the last few waypoints in reverse and had to back track our way to GZ but this did not diminish from our enjoyment of the stroll. A very enjoyable cache to complete. TFTC
A weekend away on a fishing charter in Wooli with seffnjarah, and the opportunity arose to leave the group early this morning and head up the coast caching. We had a day with a lot of 'Liz and Bruce' caches and a few 'Herbz' caches. You know when you are heading into their territories you are in for a wild and bumpy ride, and that was exactly what happened!
We loaded up with water as the day was getting hot. As we were wearing hiking clothes and boots, we made quite a sight walking along the beaches! We did get some looks, but then, we looked a bit as well. We raced through the waypoints, really enjoying the placers we went to. (Really...we are going up there!...NICE!).
We only made one miscalculation, and that cost us only a free extra minus. The inter cache program (of which I am not a huge fan) worked very well, and never gave us grief. We made our way to GZ, and were glad it was over as the heat we getting hard to bear.
Thanks Herbz. An FP from me.

First ever intercache and a much better experience than the similar Wherigo. Took about 2 hours to complete but it was a very warm day.
I lived in this area for over 10 years and this still took me to places i had never been to.
A great walk. Thoroughly recommended.
A favorite point from Griffo.
Managed to grab the ftf as well. An added bonus.

To avoid any confusion...yes, there was a multi here of the same name which is now archived. The WP tags were proving too difficult to maintain, so we have changed it to an Intercache. GZ has changed too.
We felt this one is a completely different beast so it's a new listing. Apologies to all who found the old one, you'll just have to do the walk again - no great hardship, and grab another smilie.
