An unauthorised throwdown to obtain a smile is not Maintenance. The CO has not responded to my note or enabled the cache, so it will be removed from the board to make way for a new and well-maintained cache in the vicinity. Thanks,Balayang

Did some community maintenance on this one and hid a new mint tin in the obvious spot in accordance with the hint. TFTC

### Cache Maintenance Visit Required please.###This geocache has been brought to my attention as needing an Owner Maintenance visit, as the logs indicate that it is most likely missing, or else some other problem exists with the cache. See the [GCHQ Health Score](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=713) process. It certainly needs to be checked by the Cache Owner. The cache owner needs to:* Take action to restore the cache or address issues such as correcting the D/T rating, or the posted coordinates.* Re-enable the cache by posting an Enable log* Post an Owner Maintenance log to advise what has been done and to clear any Needs Maintenance attribute that is present. Otherwise :* Post a Note Log to request more time if necessary or provide other information. **Do not use an Owner Maintenance log for this. That is for use only **when you actually do something to repair the cache**. Alternatively:* Archive the cache and remove any remaining geo-litter from the site.In the meantime, I've temporarily disabled the cache page to await owner action by Cached and to take it off the playing board to prevent further inconvenience to our Geocaching Community.[Please see the maintenance section of the Geocache Hiding Guidelines.](https://www.geocaching.com/play/guidelines?expand=1#cachemaintenance)**I will check back in 30 days** to see that action has been taken by the CO.If nothing has happened, I will conclude that the cache has been abandoned, and, unfortunately, I will need to Archive this cache. *Caches archived because of lack of maintenance/abandonment will not be unarchived.*The Geocaching Community needs to have a degree of certainty that a cache is in good condition and waiting to be found, and the CO has a responsibility to maintain their caches. Please see [my profile page](https://www.geocaching.com/p/default.aspx?u=Balayang) for additional information.Thank youBalayang -GeoffCommunity Reviewer

We continued today our tour in Tasmania, AUS, and thereby searched, found and logged this interesting Traditional-Cache.

The weather was - said in one word – simply best. The good hidden caches and the being on holidays kept us the whole day in a good mood.

The cache had good coordinates, and thus was easy to find. The logbook was okay, and allowed easy logging.

Thanks to robtas for the generation of this nice cache MATHINNA WAR MEMORIAL (with the proper agenda), for leading us here and for showing us this funny location as well as the ongoing maintenance of this cache.

PS: Please forgive us the uniform log which is needed due to timing problems - if necessary special actions and happenings are there described where they appeared.

Greetings from Germany together with the hope to meet somewhere like event or wood.

We could see why this one has had a few hit and misses on it.
So many places it could be, you need a bit of luck we think.
We had it today when I happen to look deep into a particular area and thought I saw something.
I grabbed the torch and yep, there was something shiny way way in there.
I had a long bit of wire in the car so using this I extracted the shiny and it was the cache!.
Signed the log and replaced it back as per the hint.

Well we are wending our way home after a three day sabatical at Scamander with family. Weather has been kind, even on top of South Sister where the views are fantastic and the bonus was a couple of caches. So now we are taking the scenic route back to the north west via Mathinna, Blessington and Deddington on a bit of a geo trail. A neat memorial which required some concentrated scrutiny of certain items inside the fence. Eventually hands were on the prize ......... possibly not in its proper place. Replaced once signed in hiding place according to hint. Thanks for a good cache.

13-Jul-21
Found it but could not sign as the pens would not write on the log.

Today with an event being in mathinna seemed like a good half day trip to find a few caches in the area I was yet to find.
I ready dislike cannon cache and this was no other. The search began and thought I was looking for a certain cache type, after looking almost everywhere my patience was almost gone. A PAF was used who pointed me in the right direction. Finally the cache was found and I have never seen this cache hide type on a cannon before

Hi robtas,
TFTC,
I was up in Mathinna today with EeePees and AlbyDangles helping out on a Rally.
We met with the other helpers and competitors at the oval and EeePees told me that there was a cache at the memorial. Neither EeePees or I could find it so we called AlbyDangles over to find it for us. Thanks AlbyDangles. It was nice to be in Mathinna agin since my last visit a while ago.
Thanks again,
KingSmev

25-Oct-19
Drove from Swansea early in the morning with the main aim of getting the caches around Mathinna including both waterfalls. Enjoyed the day and some of the great caches in the area.

This cache took me a while to find as I had a thought it would be harder than it was. Geo Kid O found the cache in an obvious location.

That's a fine piece of artillery! I did a few laps looking and feeling here and there coming up empty handed. Looked at the hint and scratched my head. Another lap and another feel. Just happened to stand back and think "it's going to be a DNF" then I noticed something. Yes, it caught me by surprise. SL TFTC robtas

This piece of equipment is undoubtedly the nest one I've come across. The detailed markings and information were fascinating to read. I think we enjoyed it even more because the cache was found quickly. We all know these can take a very long time.
No pic at GZ but I took one in town of the poor old church
Thanks robtas

Tassie Trip Day 170 - From our new location of fingal we decided to go for a little drive around the area and made our was into the hills.

This was a very interesting place in the middle of some wonderful landscape and arrived at the memoral to those who have lost there lives in the area and after a short seach the booty was had however a new log sheet was added to the vessel and the container replaced to the location from where it came.

Thanks robtas for this wonderful place to visit.

28-Dec-18
In Tassie with family doing a short trip around this lovely island. We saw some amazing scenery, wildlife and visited some beautiful places while touring around in our motorhome. I took the opportunity to stop and grab any caches when we could stop. We only had a few DNF's and made some good discoveries and clever hides during the trip. We had some fun and laughs along the way.

Free camped last night at the nearby grounds. Woke up to alot of wind but it didn't stop me from wandering in and surprisingly making a quick find this morning.

Thanks robtas for placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play.

Found on trip around Australia with Willow the little black adventure cat. See vancatmeow.com for updates on where we are. 29 months on the road.

Thanks for the cache!

Quick easy find with VanCatMeow. Wasn’t sure if the cache was still here as it hadn’t been found for a few months. Luckily we spotted it fairly quickly. Very sad to see all those names from this little town passing through, we thought we’d stop and grab this cache. We needed to go to the post office but unfortunately it was closed. TFTC.

Hi robtas
A two day round trip to St Helens; 773km; for ten finds.
This was the first find for the day.
Took a little longer to find than it should but got it in the end.
Sainted and signed the log at 1230hrs.
Just love Mathinna; especially the Worker's Club.

Travelling east today as the CotE was wanting to attend to family business. This gave me the opportunity to add to the tally. After a good once over - too many hiding places for a little one, I resorted to the hint. Before I could capitalise, CotE was saying "How about this?" It looks as though I have found a useful addition to the caching kit! Smile She might be welcome any time now...

Tftc, there were more houses out here than we expected.

A nice early start from Ross found us here on a lovely sunny morning. ep found some eggs in the end of the gun barrel just before we located the cache itself. Nice to see a well maintained memorial, and grounds. Was expecting AlbyDangles to be in the area today, so as he hadn't already marked the log, I left him a "hello".
Thanks for the cache robtas, its a beauty.

Spent the afternoon travelling from Bisheno to west of St Marys and collected a couple of smilies along the way. Our track record with these type of caches isn't something to skyte about but lady Avago soon had this one in hand.
Thanks robtas

Today was our opportunity to head east, the Mathinna area in particular. This was the first cache we came to - certainly a very carefully maintained memorial. It took a few minutes before the cache was located. As with Tardis, when we had found the cache our GPS indicated that we were 11m from GZ. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks for the cache Robtas and for bringing us back to Mathinna.

11-Jan-15
With a whole handful of FTF's up for grabs in the Mathinna area (thanks robtas! Wink) it was worth a little jaunt from Tardis Central to boost our measly tally. The memorial was certainly neat & the gun in better condition than most we have seen in similar locations. The satellites today must have been in misalignment however as our GPSr's were consistently "off" at every hunt. Once we ignored where we were being told to look & focussed on where we would expect to find a cache though, the prize was soon in our hands. Whoo hoo! A rare *FTF* for us. Thankyou robtas Big Grin
