Have decided to archive this cache due to the huge overgrowth since it was placed....pity as it was such a great hiding spot.

Well, a teeny-weeny bushbashing, maybe?
I was gonna say that I don't know where the John's Road is but looked at OSM and really, SH1 at this part is called John's road.

Found it but took about 15mins of looking around! Good spot

26-Jan-17
Great wee cache! Took longer than I thought

07-Jan-17
Gave it a nudge, then another, then another then kept going, just because, dang it, I didn't want a lone unfound one. However, the alloted 20 minutes came up so time to move along. I'm not sure how far has to go these days, better luck next time. Cheers

20-Nov-16
Found with hughdg and geegeefromfiji... wouldn't say *no* bushbashing required... but not much Smile

20-Nov-16
Little bit more bush bashing than advertised

20-Nov-16
Found this while out on a stroll with odgersaj and hughdg, great hiding spot

01-Nov-16
Staying nearby at Clearwater. Saw a number of caches that were just too close not to grab. Looked in totally the wrong place to start with here. TFTC Smile

Yay nice day for a walk

#2,610: Fun Smiley!
I came to this one on a very nice walk with my GeoMissus, GeoYoungling #3, and some new cachers, kumachanz. Temperatures were perfect, and we made it all the way to Sawyers Arms and back to the Groynes with everyone in good spirits.
This was our sixth stop. All in good shape!

Nice day out for a walk

09-Oct-16
This was a long hunt for me. Went under and over logs bush bashing for this to find nothing. When I was back on the path I realized I could approach from another angle- and quickly had the cache

21-Aug-16
Took the boys out for a cycle and collected a few caches along the way.

21-Aug-16
Here in ChCh for a quick visit... while Miss 17 is off at a Gym comp in Hornby I'm out caching looking for high FP's and somewhere to walk... Just been to Kaiapoi collecting the FP's and now working my way back to Hornby. Great track along here - heaps of walkers about today.
Looked for a while for this one before giving up... thought I'd give it another look on the way back but then forgot.

14-Aug-16
The caches on this walkway have been on my "too lazy" list for too long, and today I decided to tick them off. I started off from the Clearwater end, and was initially a bit confused on where to start... found it eventually... This initially looked daunting but found very soon after that... TFTC (3128)

20-Jul-16
Even though StreetWalker had already signed the log for this, and the next cache, he accompanied me to both of them. I was pleased with that as there were lots of potential hiding places and he steered me to the right place. Nicely tucked away. TFTC.

16-Jul-16
Despite our best efforts searching and looking in all the obvious spots, we sadly had no luck finding this one. GPS got us to within 2m of GZ, and there looked to be a perfect hiding spot there, but alas we had to admit defeat on this one. Too bad as it promised to be a little more exciting that the previous finds located nearby

#12587. The last of five finds needed to get me up to 10 for June 30. I was pleased I'd already found this one on an earlier scouting mission (made for a quick find). TFTC.

Found it

26-Jun-16
Found on misty but not too cold day up from Wgtn exploring the lakes. Took a while to find the correct tree but got there in the end.

15-Jun-16
Thanks, last for the day in here as muggles doing replanting further up the track, good work

21-May-16
Very late log - 24 Sept Sad Been busy moving house - to 7 hours away.

This cache was found on a Girl Guide unit. Having found Carabidae with small groups we then all set out to walk along this walkway. Each group started with a different cache to find, and those we missed going out we got (or didn't) on the way back.
The rain was starting as we left - but that didn't stop us much.
I found this easily then stood back and watched the girls in my group go around and around. They finally got it and on the way back they helped another group find it.

Thanks for the cache.

02-May-16
Plenty of potential hiding places in these old trees. Nice when you have to get off the track.

28-Apr-16
These are the kind of caches that my kids love to find slightly off track with really cool trees for climbing TFTC

24-Feb-16
did a couple of km's in the park nearby. found all caches OK. Some showed up immediately, some did take some more instinct. Thanks to the owner(s) for a great after work adventure.

01-Feb-16
Well Titch this is sure the road less traveled didn't see anyone else on it. However the undergrowth has flourished since the cache was placed and bush bashing is required in the summer and the wrong path will take you to swamp... thistles and brambles or strangling vines. Was just giving up when cache fell into my hands. I'm sure I'd already looked there! TFTC Kiwi864

05-Jan-16
Weather cleared so getting a few caches

30-Dec-15
Enjoyed this walkway this morning.

28-Dec-15
A DNF for me here.

26-Dec-15
A nice walk with the whanau to find the caches along the paths here. Good day for it, sunny, not too hot. Great place to be on a day like this!
Hmm, not sure about the 'no bush bashing required' part here... We got to 7m from gz and hit a high wall of vegetation. So one option was to cut ourselves through, but we left the machete at home today. After exploring other options, there was a possibility to wade through head high vegetation, prickly in most places, with unknown step depths and a few logs underfoot. Finally we managed to approach by jumping along and between the large logs to gz. The container was on the ground, so we replaced as per hint. Somewhere along the no bush bash I managed to get four new cuts on my leg, but only one was bleeding. Good fun though, just different to what we expected! TFTC!!

Boxing day caching trip with the whanau! A lovely day for a nice stroll along, and plenty of caches around!!!

Great to finally tick these off - have been meaning to for quite a while actually! Clear them off the map, as I don't neccessarily want to be coming here for my one a day Razz haha.

Thanks for the hides Smile

This was my second visit to Christchurch in as many weeks, a fortnight ago I flew down for the Mega event with my family in tow, this time I was down to attend a conference held at the school of Education. My wife generously agreed to allow me to stay an extra day (and night) to explore the city and do some Geocaching. I made the most of the opportunity and found just over a hundred caches during my visit.
I decided to start my big day with a nice long walk and this area fitted the bill. I like how this was off the beaten trail and so nicely tucked away in a spot obvious to Geocachers but which muggles would be oblivious to. Thanks for placing it.

Second try, on the way back to the car, was successful. Tftc.

A trip down here at short notice to provide some assistance to a rep for a presentation to do, so another opportunity to collect a few caches in the area that will assist me with the DGSc Challenge that I feel I am working my way through so slowly.
So on arrival it was grab a car the evening before (good of work to cover the cost this time), finish the days work and begin on another hunt

This was the eighth of the evening (and the rain is holding off for the moment) and had the place all to myself, would be a great place for families in the summer. Back along the main track heading back to the car
Thanks for the chance of another smilie.
thanks for the placement and the fun of the chase

Keeping my streak alive and saw that these traditional caches were close-ish to work (I mostly just have puzzles to solve around there now). Although I probably should have made 7 trips to collect the caches in this area one at a time (to make 7 days of my streak ) I actually went for the walk and got the lot.
This one took a bit more searching. My phone GPS kept pointing to a pile of tree pruning rather than a hint item. This left plenty of hint items to check. As is typical, I dived off into the undergrowth to look before eventually finding the cache at the one with the easiest access from the path. I think I'll have to make myself write lines: you should know better, you should know better, you should know better... Smile

This cache was one of 350 found on a short trip back to New Zealand, which was principally organised so that I could attend my Great Grandmother's 100th birthday.
I have a great time and enjoyed a great variety of caches, most of which were new (ie published in the past couple of years ).
Thanks for all the great caches. Cool

That there was a track from Clearwater to the Lake Roto Kahutu Reserve was news to me. If it wasn't for the placement of this cache and it's siblings I would never have learn't of its existance. Biked from The Groynes doggy area to Sawyers Arms Road finding caches whilst mapping the track for the NZ Open GPS map. This was the second stop. Nice quick find. Thanks for the cache..

15-Jan-15
Met a few other energetic folks as we gathered these caches, seems to be a well used park, TFTCs

11-Jan-15
We thought we might walk out to some of these caches in yesterday's heat but decided against that. I was glad as there were a few more extra caches published in the area. I put a watch on them and thought I'd check them in the morning. I checked this morning and there was only a log for one of the new caches!! I headed off with my bike in the back and thought I'd give the rest a crack. I parked at the suggested carpark and jumped on the bike. It's fun caching on a bike. I got to this one and made a quick find opened up the log and found another blank log!!! This doesn't get old... another {FTF} for the morning at 7.32am. This track is great and I'll be bringing back the family for a ride.
Lovely morning with a bit of dew on the grass, shes going to hot today.

Thanks for the cache.

This one of 6 caches in this trail I found today with muggle hubby. It was great to get on the mountain bikes again, definitely the way to go with this trail. Thanks for the enjoyable series!
