Logs
As we drive south today, we stopped here for a break and to come and have a look again at this railway station. We logged a DNF back in 2020, so today we thought we would come and avenge this. This time, as we arrived at GZ we spotted the Hide immediately and soon had our name in the log. Its great to see how beautifully maintained the paintwork is in this lovely old building. Thanks possum bugs 43Domsky
Cache found before the storm arrived. I'm not good caching when lightning is flashing all around.Tftc
Accurate coordinates and an interesting object led to a quick find. The logbook was very hard to extract from the container - just too much paper. Thanks for the cache.
This was another impressive railway station sadly not used for what it was originally intended. We have seen so many in New South Wales, but good to see they are well maintained and being re-purposed.Today we took the short trip from Glen Innes to Tenterfield another older town with lots of history and interesting buildings. We collected a few caches on the way before arriving round lunch time. In the afternoon we headed into town to look around and complete the Lab and Wherigo. before heading bit wider to search for a range of other caches.A good day with warm sunny weather.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache possum bugs 43.**SKI Pair****
Found it. Very clever conceal. Very interesting place we have driven past many times and never even realised was here. Shame to see in such a bad state of repair when people are homeless
Caching with Oddiewan with the Cache Crusader in tow. Were picking up caches in new-to-us LGAs in northern NSW on a extended weekend. Cache in great shape. We are sad to see the windows busted and all the glass laying about. We were making observations on our approach into Deepwater that the railway here is not used and has fallen into disrepair. Neat old railway station nevertheless. Thanks for the fun, possum bugs 43
Chasing LGAs on a long weekend. Caching with my partner Semik and our geo pups What an awesome place Thanks for the cachepossum bugs 4326 April 2024
We found this cache while sightseeing around Deepwater today.A fascinating spot to visit with the old building and railway equipment to look at..TFTC
Another Deepwater cache I failed to find on a previous visit. This time after reading a few logs, realised it was way off the coords. Around 6m out. But easy enough to spot on approach once in the right area and with my eyes at knee level TFTC pb43
On our way home from a week in Sydney and I finally got to do some caching in Deepwater. In my wilder youth, I used to come up here for weekend! LOLAnd a Railway Station, too! Thanks to previous loggers for their hints & photos!TFTC
As per previous log this was an easy find today TFTC lovely piece of history so thanks for bringing us here
Looked at obvious spots Gps had me bouncing from pole to fenceEven after reading prev logsGuess my geocaching eyes let me down
Geoboyfriend came up with the goods here after a bit of a look around by all of us. Calypso62 had been here previously and found it, but couldn’t remember specifics as to where it was. Judging by the tree growing in the rail line, it’s been a while since this train line has been operational!
On our way up to Tenterfield making a stop for a couple of caches. This was a good place to visit with a quick find. TFTC
Not where we expected, but finally found it GZ coords were spot on if you look the right side. A nicer hiding spot could make this a great cache as the railway station looks interesting. TFTC
Sims_family and Dromaniax are on day Five of a our 10 day trip to Queensland and back again towing a 12x8x7 foot trailer that is loaded to the hilt and weighs quite a bit. Fuel efficiency has gone out the window with the Ginja Ninja (My Orange Mitsubishi Triton) going through fuel faster than I have ever seen before.
Day Five and the day to start heading home, a day we will make it to Armidale.
With the trailer we are keeping it simple when it comes to caches so this was a good one for us to grab on the way through.
This one took a little while to locate in the dark but persistence paid off with the find eventually being made.
Thank you possum bigs 43 for the hide

Today is the fifth day of the Sims_family/Dromaniax big road trip to Queensland and back again.
We are towing a very big trailer, which was chockers, but when you have a mission, someone else is paying for the fuel, and there is the opportunity for nine days of caching fresh fields, you jump at the chance.
We have a long list of target caches and hope to cross quite a few goals off the list on this trip.
We were heading back south now, and the Trailer was significantly lighter.
This one took some finding. But we persisted and found the cache in excellent condition.
Thank you for this Traditional cache possum bugs 43.

I joined Willis007 and Chamad for a drive to Guyra today. This was a quick one along the way. Very cute railway station. Tftc
With the holiday Tuesday, Willis007 came up with a cunning plan. The plan was to go for a long drive to complete a particular challenge cache. We are heading to Glen Innes and Guyra to collect some high altitude caches and a few fun ones along the way. It is going to be a long day with Willis007, Kolour and myself. All three of us have set goals and a few extras to collect but we all want those Tuesday caches.
With only a couple of stops along the way we were making good time until. I spotted 4 new FTF’s in the area. We ended going for the walk on one and grabbing the ftf, awesome.
We stopped here and I walked around to find this one very easily, nicely positioned for a hide.
We signed the log, replaced as found and continued on our way. Thanks for the fun we had today and placing this cache here.

Needing to find some high altitude caches, Kolour, chamad and myself planned a day trip to Glen Innes and Guyra.
We arrived at Deepwater and decided to collect the caches here. This one was quickly found, log signed, we were on our way.

Took a bit longer to find but eventually found it.
Sad to see the deterioration since we were last there several years ago.

Found it quickly thanks to recent comments from others. Would not have found train station otherwise. Thanks for the cach.
TFTC! Not where I was expecting to find it, but found. Had been on a trip to Glen Innes, so on my way home, decided to stop here for this one.
Great train station sadly we’re this cache is has turn into a dumping site but apart from that signed the log and left
This is a nice old rail station, pity it isn't used much any more.
We were ina bit of a rush for some reason and decided to start searching without properly consulting the GP. After checking a number of areas matching rhe hint we finally decided to use the GPS to narrow down the GZ and soon made a quick find.
We traded out a geocoin and headed on our way.
Thanks for the cache!

There was no cacche in the area where my phone told me to search, so I made a PAF. The cache was located soon after, some distance away. Where the cache is now seems to be a bit of a dumping area. :'( Log signed, cache returned as found and I was on my way again. TFTC
On our way from Toowoomba to Melbourne for our 'Round for Life 22 - Cure for Kenny' raising money for the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation. I am part of the support team so have plenty of time to get a few sneaky cache hunts in!
If I had cked the obvious place first, I may have gotten this cache a little quicker! C'est la vie!

We had planned a road trip to Queensland to visit family in 2021, but our travel plans were stalled due to border closures during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now that the world was trying to get back to a semi normal state, we decided to have another go at getting away from the cold and head up north for some sunshine and warmth.
Day 19 – On the slow trek home so today’s journey was from Tenterfield to Tamworth with many caching stops along the way.
All caches were found along our journey that we attempted unless otherwise mentioned.
Thanks to all cache hiders for keeping this hobby alive and breaking up a long drive.

Second time here found super easy thanks to a hint. Always wanted a LOTR ring super happy I got it, swapped some thing for it.

Crookedpete and I were given leave passes from our respective families for the Easter long weekend for a geocaching road trip. I suspect that this was our families' Easter present to themselves to have a weekend alone without our company .
As members of The Bromance geocaching collective, we are a rather contrarian bunch, so while the main geocaching action was apparently up north over Easter, we decided to instead head south from Brisbane. Our main focus was on caches with lots of favourites, good DT combinations, high elevation or sitting sad and neglected with no visitors for an extended period.
On our drive south we passed through Deepwater and stopped off for a break, with the added bonus of hunting for a cache. Being tucked away in a backstreet, this nice old station we would otherwise have missed out on visiting if not for this cache. At GZ we spent some time searching for possible hiding spots before venturing into a spot we initially thought as unlikely. Added our names in the log and returned to the car to continue our journey. Instead of heading north for Easter, Seffnjarah and I planned a long weekend road trip collecting interesting caches and doing some bushwalks as we meandered our way south to Armidale and surrounds.
Having camped overnight at Bald Rock and climbed Bald Rock for sunrise, we have continued south. This cache was listed for the return journey, but there is no time like the present. A quick search on the western side came up empty, so whilst Seff headed around the other side of the barrier, I took some photos of the nice old station. Find was made in amogst the junk being stored in this spot at present.
Many thanks possum bugs 43

Heading through the New England area on our caravan holiday and stopped by here to check out the old railway. Love these types of places, tftc.
Travelling home from our very memorable road trip we are enjoying some stops in places we’ve not been before. We had a lovely overnight stopover at the Deepwater Longhorn Bar & Grill. This was an interesting historic location for a cache.
We enjoyed finding your cache today as part of our memorable road trip beyond Victoria.

Having looked at the map and seeing we would be driving through Deepwater today we made sure we stopped for these two caches. Thank you for bringing us to this train station today. Such a beauty!! We were really pleased to come and we found the cache quickly in good condition, signed the log and replaced as found.
Cheers and happy caching!

Did not find looks like it has been mugged or moved locked on the sign and the fence.
Over the past few days I’ve been keeping a close eye on the forecast for potential snow on the northern tablelands, with things looking promising I booked myself some accomodation at Glen Innes for two days. My plan for those two days was to chase some snow and take some amazing pictures and grab a bunch of caches along the way.
I do enjoy visiting these old train stations, just imagine all the history and what the place use to be like when trains used to operate. It took me a few minutes to spot the hide, there wasn’t many places it could be, but after a thorough search the cache was in hand.

A quick find as we move up the highway towards Queensland waiting to see if the CacheQLD mega at Easter is cancelled because of the COVID outbreak in Brisbane.
Thanks for the hide possum bugs ... I hope the railway station is being put to good post-trains use by the community.

After being in Canberra for 10 days it was time to return home. Last day of the return trip (Home this afternoon) aiming to pick up a few counties for challenges with RoddyC and team benders.
Nearly missed it even with an accurate hint. But gotcha.

Another cute, old station to visit on our weekend adventure. After a few photos taken we headed to GZ to create a smiley. Not sure was happening with wombles eyes here but she managed to miss the very obvious find ??

I'd alwauys wanted to visit Deepwater as my parents liked it here and my dad came here for a country music festival a few years back.
This old train station is awesome. We took a while to locate the cache, I missed it in my first check of the area and then Nyssaflutterby spotted it.

Streak day 6
Staying in Glen Innes at the moment for the summer
The coords were roughly 6m out and the hint didn't narrow down the locations too much. Sometimes the size of caches can be quite variable from hider to hider, so a past log really helped me narrow down the places to look.
The rain started getting just a touch heavier by the time we made the find, but it didn't stop me from taking a photo with HardlyNoobish before we took off
I also really enjoy seeing old train stations so that was a bonus too
Thank you for placing

I was in the region for work - and decided to grab this cache.
I say "grab". I looked for about 20 minutes.. nothing. I ended up messaging a previous finder. Said finder told me where they thought it was - which was somewhere I had checked.
I returned again and started hunting in the more unusual areas.. and soon found the prize. Happy to have this one crossed off. A great place for a cache. TFTC possum bugs 43

TFTC,
After spending a few days around Tenterfield and on the move again making our way home, we have a chance to log our caches.
Having left the Muggle, we could grab a few caches along the way. So much history that needs to be used.
Added a favourite and visited trackables.

Yay! Fast find by GLISS! as we explore the area with K8TYBEE. Has been such a lovely trip around the countryside. Thanks for the cache.
Avoiding Covid places and needing a time out from work so hitched a ride with Nibletricecakes and GLISS! armed with hand sanitiser and face masks, we went touring NSW collecting counties.
We started in Canberra and spent a weekend in Bathurst with the capital crunchers then continued on North and West before heading home again. TFTC!

Found during a road trip from Adelaide via Broken Hill, Cobar, Bourke, Walgett, Glen Innes, Tenterfield and Lismore and on to Brisbane. Thanks for the cache possum bugs 43!
Found after having to take the biggest detour ever. Woodburn across to Tenterfield then down To Tamworth because bushfires blocked 2 highways south. Crazy. Found with BenM70
On my way back to Brisbane thought to do a bit of geocaching along the way. Quick find on a nice old building which I never knew was here
"once up on a time in the west". The cache seemes to be off. Thank you for showing this place.
Found by Mary and David at 12:55. Looking, looking, nothing. About to give it away, but checked one last place and there it was. So sneaky. Persistence does pay off. What a hub of noise and activity this place once was. Delighted to see how beautifully maintained this station is, and now re purposed. Our thanks to possum bugs 43.
Found on my way through town on the way to Tenterfield. Great to see this old station building has had a new lease on life. TFTC
Totally not where we expected to find it but it was a fascinating old station to visit. TFTC
Stopped off on my way home from the Gold Coast. Very nice sunny day. Got near GZ and the local railway keeper dog came along to check me out. Don't know who was the more timid, the dog or me. A quick look around and thought where would i hide it. And there it was. TFTC
A glorious sunny day for a Caching trip from Coffs Harbour to Tenterfield. We thought we would try this one again on the way through. After a short search, we soon had Cache in hand and can now turn this frown into a smiley face.
