Hopefully good to go, will try and get up to do a check soon but the forest area should be re-opened now.
From the Southland District Council:
We will be closing roads through the Dunsdale Recreation Reserve and Hokonui Forest Conservation Area for the purpose of tree harvesting from tomorrow, 1 May 2023 – 30 September 2023.
This will mean the gate leading up to the Dunsdale forestry road will be closed and there will be no public entry into the Dunsdale Recreation Reserve and the Hokonui Forest Conservation Area.
We apologise for the disruption to normal access to these reserves.

As far as we are aware, the Dunsdale forest is now open. We will try and get up there to check on these caches before Christmas.
The Southland District Council have advised the logging has been extended and the Dunsdale Forest area won't be reopened until November. Will re-enable the caches once it has opened again.
From Southland District Council
'From 1 May 2022 until 30 September, the gate leading up to Dunsdale forestry road will be closed. There will be no public entry into the Dunsdale Reserve/Hokonui Forest Area due to tree harvesting in Dunsdale forest. Everyone will be welcomed back in the spring time.'
Therefore we will be disabling our caches in here until it is reopened.
Cheers

Today's plane was tovisit two Reserves out from Gore plus any others that might get in the way.
I am glad I came up the eastern side as this side has a lot more ups and downs in it. Luckily there was slightly more downs than ups.
Cheers for the cache.

I tried to find this before but logging operations had closed the road. All good today. Tftc
Great winters day out (after the frost and fog lifted) caching with Tania and puppas, who thoroughly enjoyed their romp together. Lovely bush walk, am amazed by all the hidden gems found around Southland thanks for bringing us here. Nice quick find with the good coords, log slightly damp but ok tftc
Cache 112 A lovely trip up to Dunsdale with Wombats and the geo pups with the plan of hitting all the caches in the area this was cache 4

Had arm twisted to get me off the couch, to get some miles in the legs before an upcoming hike.
It's a bit damp today but despite that nice scenery and good company.
Cache in good order.

Got home after work and suggested let's go for walk to get annielins legs ready for a up and coming camp.
So after a bit of arm twisting she was ready to go.
This will be a good test of her new rain coat as the old one was a better sieve than a rain coat .
A nice walk to pick up this one .
I do like a bush walk in the rain ,
Not to slippery under foot tonight. Back to truck before dark .
Cache nice and dry .
Thanks for the hide

Found on a family camping trip with friends. Much excitement with the swappable items! Very wet bags inside
Needs a dry out

Found the last of the group without any description or hints. Going in blind and happy with the lovely walk. Tftc
We had these saved for offline use, however were unable to see information about the cache, we only had the co-ords so we were flying blind.... But still managed to find this after a brief search. TFTC
A nice afternoon to get out and about, also on a fitbit challenge with others. Been putting off this bunch, but as we are fast running out of caches close by, today was the day. I had saved for offline use, but couldn't read descriptions or clues, used our instincts and found quickly.
Like some of the other finders I initially tried for this earlier in the walk. The cache name helped me quickly give up the search then. Once at GZ it was a quick find.
As expected I checked out a few trees before making the find, but was reasonably sure I wouldn't find it on the track between the falls and the bridge (though I did pause and check).
Cache was getting damp. Water had gotten into the outer white bag and stayed there. Dried off what needed to be dried. Removed, cleaned and dried container seal. Kept log bag out of white swag bag when repacking and faced lid inwards when replacing. Hopefully that will help.
Thanks for the smilie.

I thought this was on the other side. Quick find and glad I had a flashlight with me as it was getting dark. TFTC.
I initially tried grabbing this on the other side of the river... My phone GPS was having big bounce issues, as expected in the bush without reception. But the trail back to the car looked a lot more promising. As we got close I spotted a likely hide and sure enough the container was found soon after. Swapped some plasticy crap that my daughter might like for other plasticy crap! TFTC and taking me back to this area.
Biggest cache on the trail and the easiest found at the GZ. Was nice and full of swag. TNLN SL TFTC
TFTC - never new about this beautiful spot until today - definitely worth a visit - thanks for placing one out here so I would visit
Last one of the day. We had to drag the kids out for a walk. Lovely pleasant stroll around this track. TFTC
A quick easy find with good coordinates and hint on a pleasant walk around the loop. TFTC
A revisit. Was not covered. Is now re-covered. Please mark the coin as missing.
Stupidly didn't realise there is no mobile reception here and didn't preload this one onto my phone.
A few steps off the track and there it was - nice to find a larger container. Moving on two TBs, but don't remember seeing the "1000 finds" geocoin in the cache. A lovely patch of forest to stroll around.
Lovely day for a walk and picnic, on our return we meet up with Mr and Mrs Pipedream and Mr and Mrs JinmyCricket. Stunning walk and picnic area, will return, Logged find with Granville86a
Found with Chosen1978. Got the right tree. An easy find. a great day for a walk along the track.Dropped off Saro's Fox TB. Arrived back at the end of the track just in time to meet Pipedream and JimnyCricket who were heading off round the track.

A quick find for the last cache on this loop track, very enjoyable.
I remember a concrete structure further downstream that was an investigation to see if this could be a possible water supply for Invercargill, but it did not proceed.
Thanks for the cache kryshan
