While in Tassie for a week of wine, whiskey and wandering with some muggle friends, I'm taking the opportunity to look for a few caches that are along our itinerary. My travelling companions dropped me here while they went and secured much required caffeine. We were very fortunate for good conditions today so could see the blowhole in action. Thanks Nyssaflutterby for the geology information and bringing me to this gorgeous site.

I am travelling down the east coast of Tassie, and stopped in Bicheno to do some sight-seeing, and get the Bicheno caches. There was a bit of ocean swell today, so we got to see some specular blowhole action.Yet, with the constant blowhole eruptions, and major waves, there was no way of getting close enough to the blowhole to measure the width! So I am not sure how question that was to be answered?I was hoping there would be an information sign at the Blowhole, giving all such information. However there was only one lone (lacking detail) warning sign.Anyway, logged the cache.

23-Nov-23
We are staying on Coles Bay for a few days and we visited Bicheno for lunch at the Lobster Shack, naturally a visit to the blowhole was a must do.It is good to see the A frame chalets we stayed in 25 years ago are still here.Answers sent to CO.Thanks for the earthcache Nyssaflutterby.

Found on a trip to Tasmania with pineapplegoldy!LWF.Some caches have been signed as "Goldy and Jimmy". Goldy has sent answers and uploaded photos where applicable. TFTC

11-Nov-23
Goldy and Jimmy are holidaying in Tasmania for a few days. A quick trip away from our regular life to see sights and find caches.I'm aiming to continue my daily streak and fill some Jasmer grid spots. As well as find some challenge caches and as many virtuals as I can.Today we pay our respects to the fallen ANZAC soldiers and all other fallen soldiers around the world. The ultimate sacrifice was made and it is important to remember them.We attended the Remembrance Day Service in Saint Helens to pay our respects. We then made our way to the Bay of Fires for the day, followed by a drive along the east coast to Bicheno. This spot looked intriguing, so we came here before heading back to Launceston. We had a great time here, too. A very interesting and fascinating area. We spent a considerable amount of time just watching the blowhole do its thing. Also, shoutout to the CO for encouraging CITO practices. We got one Earth and we can't mess it up.A very cool EarthCache, I've placed several and I respect the effort that goes in to making them. However, giggles were had for obvious reasons.A favourite point for you!Photo has been attached, too. Thanks for bringing us to this cool spot."They shall grow not old,as we that are left grow old;Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sunand in the morningWe will remember them."**Lest we forget.**Thanks Nyssaflutterby and the munchkins for this EarthCache, which brings Goldy's total find count to 3787 on the 11th of November 2023.

Completed the EC with Ricardinho. Please refer to the answers he has supplied A very cool location , the blow hole was performing today. Fav point from me for the beautiful location Day 13 of our Tassie/Sydney trip & today is Launceston to Freycinet. A big travelling day for us so we left early. We wanted to check out St Helens & i wanted breakkie & a Chai from the Banjoe's in St Helens After this we headed to Bay of Fires to get an old cache for RNZ & then made our way down the east coast, stopping at any cool seaside towns along the way to Freycinet NP. A big day, but another awesome day!TFTEC

23-Oct-23
Today was a great day for the blowhole. It was performing quite well with the swell from the east, and there were a number of people enjoying it.Got as close as we dared and estimated the width.TFTEC, FP from us.Day 13 of our Tassie trip, Launceston to Freycinet. This was one of our biggest travelling days, and we went a bit of a long way.We were keen to check out St Helens, so made a beeline there the quickest way. From there, we got a great old cache up the coast, then hopped our way through some nice little towns down to Freycinet. Unfortunately wifi was out here and my cell coverage was also patchy, hence apologies for the late logs. Added some pictures from our day. Thanks all COs.

Jetstar was having a sale…. in the middle of winter, for a destination further south than I already live. That sounds like a great idea!

So a plan for a 4 night whirlwind tour of the northern part of the state was hatched. I’ve seen lots of this beautiful state, but haven’t found a single cache. With plenty of challenges to tick off, and a long list of targeted caches, this week is the time to turn that around.

It’s the final day for this trip, leaving St Helens for Launceston via more of the coast and then inland through Campbell Town and Ross.

I have visited the blowhole before, but the seas were not rough enough on my previous visit. Today I was able to see the blowhole in action and answer the questions.

Thanks Nyssaflutterby for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

We continued today our tour in Tasmania, AUS, and thereby searched, found and logged this interesting Earth-Cache.

The weather was - said in one word – simply best. The good hidden caches and the being on holidays kept us the whole day in a good mood.

The cache had good coordinates, and thus was easy to find. The logbook was okay, and allowed easy logging.

Thanks to Nyssaflutterby and the munchkins for the generation of this nice cache Under the spray... Bicheno Blowhole (with the proper agenda), for leading us here and for showing us this funny location as well as the ongoing maintenance of this cache.

PS: Please forgive us the uniform log which is needed due to timing problems - if necessary special actions and happenings are there described where they appeared.

Greetings from Germany together with the hope to meet somewhere like event or wood.

#5309, 2023-03-03 at 09:18,

Nalezeno společně s Radoshordos během měsíčního výletu do Malajsie, Singapuru, Bruneje a Austrálie, kde byla hlavním cílem celého výletu Tasmánie. Singapore se zároveň stává mojí 39. navštívenou zemí a Austrálie mojí 40. navštívenou zemí.
Keš jsem našel během chvilky společně s Radoshordos. Děkuji za přivedení na další zajímavé místo a za další bod do sbírky.
Zdravím z České republiky.

Found it during a one-month trip together with Radoshordos to Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and Australia, where Tasmania's was main destination of the whole vacation. Singapore is also becoming my 39th visited country and Australia my 40th visited country.
I found the cash in a moment with Radoshordos. Thank you for bringing me to another interesting place and for the next point to the collection. Greetings from the Czech Republic.

Find 3 of 9 on an incidental caching day, with the main focus being walking round and over the Freycinet peninsula. Turned into a stunning day for it, Wineglass Bay and Mount Amos were incredible.

A bit drizzly here, we still got a good look at the blowhole going strong without getting wet though. Answers to follow.

TFTC Nyssaflutterby!

What an impressive blowhole. Thanks for bringing us here..

29-Jan-23
We love a good EarthCache, so coming into our brief stay in Bicheno we knew this was a must-visit. We had seen another blowhole in New Zealand, but we were able to get much closer to this one even with the rain and slippery rocks. As a bonus, we saw lots of great new to us birds on the short path from the parking lot. Great way to start the morning!

25-Jan-23
Wind and waves were right early in the morning and I was able to observe a few pretty fountains here.

Travelling around Tasmania on our family holiday with TT016, PrincessAria1 & LittleG00sE.
Today we moved on from Hobart to Bicheno.
This evening was too nice not to head out and explore the area. There were 4 caches here in Bicheno, we managed to get all 4.
The blowhole was blowing a little today but we had to wait for the larger waves to make an appearance.
Answers have been sent off to the CO on behalf of my group.
Thanks for setting up this Earthcache at this interesting location for our enjoyment Smile

Adelaide to Hobart Road Trip
Day Five: St. Helens to Hobart Airport
Weather: glorious!

Traditional found, and now on to the Earthcache. I used to live in Sydney, and despite numerous passes, I never got to see the Kiama Blowhole. I’m aware that tourists can get into strife there. There were warnings in the carpark here, but no signage on the rocks as to where it got dangerous, so I ventured no further than the listed coordinates. Great to hear and see the blowhole in action.

Answers have been submitted, thanks for this Earthcache nyssaflutterby.

Found this Earthcache while on holidays traveling around Tasmania.
Over the next couple of days we're exploring the east coast.
Upon arrival the seas were not all that rough so it was only every now and again that the blowhole had enough water surging through to blow up. Still, it was fascinating to watch and hear the water when it did.
We wandered around and examined/ studied the area so we could answer the questions which have been sent to the CO. The wind was starting to pick up and making it cold, maybe the blowhole would get into some real action a bit later on.
Overall, this was a beautiful spot to visit and we’re giving it a favorite point hoping it encourages other to also do the same.

Got it and answers send to cache owner. I will update shorty.

Really windy and rough weather today, so the blow hole was really going off!

Spent sometime watching the blow hole’s glory. I managed to get fairly close and still be able to hide behind a big rock. This made it pretty exciting!

Was good fun!

Thanks for setting up this EarthCache!

Day 7 of my Tasmanian Odyssey and today it’s all about Bicheno… with TinkerTom1 as my driver we left early, Tasmanian early, and arrived in town after a two and a half hour jaunt from Beaconsfield…

Fuelled up on local coffee and a FTF we decided to tackle a few more…

What an awesome location… we had such a good time here… well worth the time to visit… most fun I’ve had an EC in, well, forever….

Answers sent to the CO…

Appears Tasmania is just full of Queenslanders…

28-Oct-22
Answered with Peppa, beautiful day trip. Even if we did drive 2 and a half hours all the way from Beaconsfield…

But we did snag a FTF which Peppa had been eyeing off for a few days so worth checking out the area. The blowhole was strong today with some big waves crashing as we answered the questions TFTC

A great day to be near an ocean.. inclement weather and rough seas, love it! ..but that’s probably just me. Now it’s time to head back to the family and my lighthouse.. no wait I’m awake.. that’s a dream of mine haha. Thank you for this Earthcache.

Today we found Under the spray... Bicheno Blowhole on our travels. We are on another visit from Melbourne just because…well, maybe it’s all those puzzles we solved during those many lockdowns! Having the opportunity to sign some actual logs is exciting!
The Chief indulged my love of earthcaches while we were in town. A busy spot but certainly am interesting one, especially when you watch the instagrammers get as close the the hole as they can for the ultimate photo while the rest of us hold our breath and marvel at their stupidity hoping they don’t slip!

Thanks Nyssaflutterby for being part of our geocaching fun.

The most beautiful day to come and visit the blowhole. I am here for a weekend in Bicheno and tomorrow I will be swimming (emerging) in the water as part of the Wim Hof inspired event. I should try to have a blowhole experience first… if only I was brave…
Thanks for taking me here! Amazing spot to be!

The cool air around here is certainly a good way to wake up but even better was the shock on Trins face as I urged her closer and closer to the blowhole for a pic until we got a particularly hard swell, very amusing TFTC
