Putting this on the list to do one day, as I qualify easily, having completed my full D/T grid 3 times.
@1600In NZ / Dunedin to attend Geo Toroa. Today was focused on the peninsular, collecting challenge caches and other cache types. This was one of my main target caches. Unfortunarly I didn't manage to find the cache. I had to give up when it started to rain again, making it too dangerous to search further.
[Jude_E](https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?u=Jude_E) has used [Project-GC](https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC5K30G/ "Project-GC Challenge Checker") to see if they qualified for this challenge and they did.I have:3 vertical lines of 1 needed with a min value of 3.Finding this was a mission. It was not where the hint suggested but about 5m away. No tree anywhere nearby and sheer fluke I spotted it actually. I did not want to give up having come so far! I was about to reluctantly give up when I spotted a large black object. Thanks for the challenge and cache, Hinemoana.#10678

Trouve ! / Found it ! Merci Hinemoana pour la cache Back on Dunedin by chance for two days, I discover that this cache attracted the attention of its owner who did a maintenance there! Owl! And in addition it was found today! Only good points for me. I finish my program and I'm leaving for Okia. On site, I start my research again... No more results than last time. Weird... I consult the previous logs and try to deduce more information. And it's after a quarter of an hour that I come face to face with the box. I had searched 30cm next to a few minutes before without seeing it! By consulting the logbook, I see that it is still the old box that I found, just like Ierehay. I log and continue to search the places according to the clue hoping to find the new box also but still nothing after several long minutes. This story is incredible... I'm going home, glad to have at least found one out of two boxes I took a photo of the hiding place of the box as well as the coordinates (7m offset from the basic coordinates) if the owner is interested 5079th cache found.Thank you Hinemoana for the cache [Rubidium68](https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?u=Rubidium68) a utilis [Project-GC](https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC5K30G "Project-GC Challenge Checker") pour voir s'il/elle tait qualifi(e) pour ce challenge et il/elle l'est.slog:I have:ok:9 vertical lines of 1 needed with a min value of 3All entries has to greater or equal to 3 to be counted in lines and entries
Having failed to find this a few days ago, I was pleased to have the CO confirm it was indeed missing: even more pleased to see it so promptly replaced. So I headed out to Okia again today, on my own this time, to find it - and couldnt. I looked for the replacement cache for half an hour, concentrating on the hint, and found no sign of it. Somewhat frustrated, I decided to look for the cache container that the new one had replaced, in the hope it was still around. Using information supplied by the last finder P&Vee, I spent another half hour looking - still nothing. So I decided on one more sweep of the likely area, started climbing up the rocks again - and there it was in full view. I signed the old logbook with some relief and put a couple of rocks in front of the container to stop it rolling away - its black top is still visible but its not hidden in accordance with the hint and its lower down than it probably originally was. Where the new replacement cache is, I have no idea! After two trips scrambling all over this jumble of rocks, I feel I have earned the T=4 rating. TFTC - quite a challenge in itself to find it.
Indeed, the cache was missing - apologies! Now replaced with a 1.2 l square sistema container, well hidden under rocks and leaves. Please replace the same.
The orchids covering the rocks here were in flower today - a heavenly smell. We searched for 40 minutes, managing to get right to GZ - a likely-looking spot that was 0m according to my GPSr - but couldnt find the cache. I suspect it is missing as the previous searcher, Rubidium68, couldnt find it either. Failing to find it was rather disappointing as I enjoyed completing my qualifications for this. It involved doing some extremely fun T=2.0 mystery caches, most in Otago, and two during our Australian trip this past summer's trip (one in Canberra and one near Moe, Victoria), plus (a few days ago) the What12words series, and qualifying bonus, in Southland. It took a lot of effort to get some of those higher-difficulty-rating qualifying caches. So, heres hoping that either someone else finds the cache soon - so many rocks, did we overlook it? - or else the CO confirms its missing and replaces it. [IereHay](https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?u=IereHay) has used [Project-GC](https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC5K30G/11370 "Project-GC Challenge Checker") to see if they qualified for this challenge and they did.IereHay fulfills challenge Triple Difficulty Challenge Cache (GC5K30G) according to https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC5K30G/11370.
\_()_/Non Trouve / Not found J'y ai malheureusement pass environ 30min chercher toutes les possibilits, de plus en plus loin des coordonnes mais sans succs. Tant pis, cette cache restera introuvable pour moi.Unfortunately, I spent about 30 minutes looking for all the possibilities, further and further away from the coordinates but without success. Too bad, this cache will remain untraceable for me.
I never thought I would ever be able to sign this log book, but luckily the last piece fell into place just after Christmas. Now who to ask to go with me for the final, but knowing JRB5050 was due here for a holiday and we had lots to catch up on, I thought this would be perfect for a walk and gossip. Turns out I was right as it took 2 visits to find the cache and then it was giving up time when I made a remark about the tie being for the animal trap and not the the cache. JRB5050 had the DUD moment and headed back into the area and luckily no one was around as the yells for joy rang out. Well worth a fav point as I had decided I was not coming back here for awhile. Thanks to CO for such a cool cache.
Mum and I headed out this way today to tick off some caches, stupidly forgot there was no reception. My geocaching map was already loaded so I could still track my location - but we had to get each one without any hints - which made it all the more fun! No DNFs.. surprisingly! This one was particularly difficult without a hint! I went up one way, my mum went up the other. We were just about to give up actually, must have been looking for half an hour! Then all of a sudden mum shouted "GOT IT!" .. such a relief. And I just qualify for the cache itself.. phew! Found as part of the Ramblers Reward Challenge
We came to Duendin to do the train trip to Oamaru yesterday. Today was for geocaching and this was a must do as filled a blank on our D/T ratings. We did the caches on the way to mark out our route to here. Had some fun climbing the huge rocks slippery with moss but we got there. Looked at many of the hint items as you do with so many options. Up and down we went as not giving up, then Mr C spotted something and went to investigate. Yes it was the cache YEH huge grins and laughter here. Happily signed the log and slowly made our way back to the track. Thanks for this challenge and the cache Hinemoana.

One of my target caches for the day as it filled a spot in the grid. YEAH. I had a spot of bother as my phone played up and I had to rely on cacher instinct. Thanks
spent 6 great weeks in New Zealand with my The start was a bit bumpy (Cyclone Gabrielle) but then it got better and better. We travelled to both islands and discovered a lot. We photographed and filmed many beautiful things, but most of it stayed in our hearts.
Almost everywhere we stopped, a cache was already waiting for us. Most of the caches are well maintained and easy to find.
With mostly very nice weather, we saw a lot of this impressive island. In many places, caches were waiting for us, which were sometimes easy and sometimes difficult to find. This cache was also included and was successfully signed
We puzzled a lot in advance and the tours were well prepared
So this box was also well found.
now I have another on my personal cache card.

This is my fourth geocaching excursion to **beautiful New Zealand**!
Due to Covid [xx(] I had to wait for 3 long years to again return to my beloved Middle-Earth [xx(].
This time its a road trip enduring for 26 days, covering both North- and South-Island.
On this beautiful and sunny day , the peninsula called for an urgent caching-visit ...
Made some beautiful finds .
This geo-treasure contributed to the 'catch' of today. Cool! [^]
It included a nice walk and a reasonable climb - just right for me!
A big thanks to the owner Hinemoana [:X] for hiding and maintaining this cool challenge-cache [^] - and best regards from Germany !

I logged a Write Note as soon as I saw this Challenge cache, and found that I had qualified for the Challenge, and looked forward to being able to find it when we came to visit NZ South Island. We had a great family Holiday for 2 weeks in January, mainly focused on Dunedin (where we were visiting friends and being touristic), and Lake Wanaka, where we had a great holiday with many walks, and other outdoor activities. Came out here for a challenge cache as the tide was due to be low. Left myself enough time to climb the pyramid and complete the loop track as well as finding several (ok all) the caches along the way.
I first came here when I was 21 on a sort of date with the lovely lady who is now my wife.
My second column qualifies. And that is a only column that does!

Nice bike ride to the beach, visiting the Pyramides and naturally logging this fulfilled challenge cache. I have almost all terrain columns fullfilling the needed 3 so no problems with this one. Cache was an easy find as I almost stumbled on it while going up Greetings from Finland.

Was a bit damp but thought I would come anyway to see if the T rating was doable for me. Got to gz and clambered over the rocks. Then up and thinking, hope not up there. Then I saw it, quite easy really. More a T3 I think. Nice to bag it though and get back to the track in one piece. Now to see if I can get back to the van before the rain comes again. ️
I think I was close to gz, the gps said 9m that way and there was a tree which I wouldn't have classed as small but i went to take a look but couldn't see anything there so pulled out the gps to see what it was saying 54m and the needle was spinning uncontrollably so I decided to give up. It was getting dark, the rocks were really slippery and no one knew where I was so I wasn't feeling very comfortable about being here. Maybe another day
Finally completed this challenge with the last cache I needed being a D5/T1.5.

Well I don't yet qualify for this one, but as I was in the area for a caching event, I signed the log so that I can change up to "Found" once I've managed to fill in a few more spots on my grid.
I had qualified a while ago so while KJR was wanting to find this after her event so I tagged along to sign the log also. #8 for the day. TFTC Hinemoana
Signed the log on the 31st of July and then discovered I was missing a spot. Did a search with the missing D/T and today found that cache so all good to log.
Caching with Kiscardi last weekend she is ticking off her D/T grid after I started her on the task when we traveled the north island last year.

Getting down on the holes left in my DT grid so a plan was hatched. Both NZ Bozzy and I needed a cache from quanatine Island so we could sign and log this cache. And as the dot day challenge was close by we though check the tides. Yes the stars all lined up. So an awesome afternoon was had.
Grabbed a few new trads while out here.
And contemplated the cliffs. Happy to find a relatively small climb needed. And yah only 5 more needed.

Day four of my SI, east coast Geotour.
The Otago Peninsula warranted my attention this morning.
This was one of my "must do" caches. The rare D/T is the penultimate find I need to complete my third loop.
I was walking along the track looking at the bluff ahead of me wondering how far I would have to clamber up that and then as I got closer this little rocky knoll appeared. Whew. I'll take it.
I picked my way up through the rocks and zeroed in on the hide.

Sometimes I don't make the smartest decisions whilst caching... but those often make for the most memorable finds!
I came out here as part of the 'Virtually Scenic Dunedin' requirements. There was a little bit of rain as I drove along the Otago Peninsula to get here, but I thought it had passed by the time I got to the parking area, so I started walking. About 300m from the car, the rain decided to return for a second round, throwing in Thunder for good measure! OK, I'm wearing a good coat, but no overtrousers and I reckoned that I'd get as wet walking back to the car as continuing, so I did. Nothing I can do about the thunderstorm though, I just took comfort from the large amounts of rock on either side of me, and that they were much higher than I was - so should be the points of contact for any lightning that came this way! Fortunately nothing did, but it did make for some nervous moments.
Got to near GZ easily enough (by which time the rain had subsided somewhat), and I began the scramble up. GSEL has found this, so I couldn't admit defeat or I would never hear the end of it! Fortunately, my guess as to where this would be hidden proved correct. I tried my best to protect the logbook from the elements, but as I was soaked to the skin by this point, some of this found it's way onto the logbook.
After signing, I paused to reflect on my own stupidity, and headed back towards the Pyramids, the cache atop that (It had almost stopped raining by now), and the car (where fortunately I had a complete change of clothes to hand - I needed them).
TFTC - FP awarded for one I won't forget in a hurry!

Headed out this morning and collected the last cache we needed to qualify for this cache. We now have at least 3 finds for each difficulty level t1.5. Our D/T stats are public.
Made our way around the walkway and at last were just down to this cache to find. Then we saw it wasn't on the GPS. We still had it on the phone, but no details downloaded there either. It was a matter of remembering what the cache page and hint said. With both of us hunting and phone giving about 3 meters to gz we hoped to find it eventually. Suddenly the shout went out - there it is. So glad we didn't have to drive out to get service then drive back and walk back to the cache.

#19151. It was definitely a challenge covering the short distance from the track to GZ and the rocks were very slippery after recent rain. Quick find once I got there. No problem qualifying as once I've caught up with logging for this trip all 9 columns will qualify. TFTC.
I was going to just write a note for this cache but, on checking, I found that I do indeed qualify, so I can claim a smiley, and clear this area, at least for now.

Found with StreetWalkerNZ and Mr and Mrs KiwiChris on a less than ideal caching day; wet underfoot and off and on rain. We were aiming to find the TMGT Trading with Whalers cache, but decided to make a detour here as we had solved the newly published puzzle cache.
We were already wet, so why not carry on to this cache as we were all rather wet already and we all qualifiy. An interesting GZ but the GPSr was a bit erratic. Found by SW while I was looking in entirely the wrong place. Happy to let him do the paperwork [P].
Easily qualify as have 8 of the 9 columns with at least 3 finds in each cell. Thanks for the challenge and TFTC.

Qualified for this one some time ago, after targetting the needed D/T ratings. Today's event in the area was not too far away, so was a great opportunity to sign the log. Thanks for the challenge Hinemoana.
After attending the event out here today a group of us set out to make a find and then in my case I intended to come home and write a note.
Imagine my surprise when I ran the checker and found I qualified!.
Thanks

Thank you for this Challenge, Hinemoana - when I first spied it, it changed my way of looking at the DT grid!
Today I attended the nearby Event and was pleased to be able to find this cache afterwards. I meet the requirements with T =1, 1.5 and 2.5.

Been working on achieving this challenge for a while and qualified a while ago then I broke a bone in my foot and all ideas of coming for this one was put on back burners.
Then after the lockdown this year Dunedin started its campaign about Dunedin's stunning sites to visit for a staycation and thought with the recent wonder of the worlds souvenir series that it would make sense to have an event out here. Its a great area to come and explore.
======== NZ Mega 2020 ========
NZ Mega 2020 is definitely happening, but has been postponed until 2021. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 22 to 25 October 2021. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:
20+ years of geocaching worldwide.
20+ years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
All the 20s and now 21 as well!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of this event - you won't want to miss it!
I have had my eye on this challenge cache for quite a while but haven't managed to get out here to sign it off. Great opportunity to do that with several others while attending the nearby event today. Currently I qualify with six out of the nine rows. TFTC #16309

I qualified for this a couple of weeks ago and as i was in Dunedin for an event for the 29th Feburary leap year so it was time to claim the smiley along with a few others. A short search turned up the goods and my monogram was added to the list of finders. Cache is in great condition and ready for the next finder
This was one of my priorited geocache-challenges during our visit in the area. Challenge was solved and the DT was very interested...
but... After a long walk in strong wind to GZ I climbed around for more than 30 minutes without finding it, I can now see that it has not been found for 3 months but muggled ??? probably not there... so the only thing I got is a "photo log" of the place.

Finally our trip to New Zealand is real! We started with half a day in Singapore and then we continued to New Zealand before finalizing the trip with 2 days in Sydney.
We have been able to see a lot, fantastic nature, many different and new birds and also a "few" geocaches.
Greetings from Sweden!

Well I signed the log book way back on the 21-06-16 with less than two years of geocaching under my belt and at least 8 finds to go to qualify for this. 8 months ago I only had one to go and that was able to be done locally but technical issues got in the way. I finally nabbed it this morning so I will happily log this find. Today was chosen as it helps toward another challenge that I'm slowly working on that will take at least two more years to complete (Four plus per day challenge GC5Q7QP)

#3962 Qualified 6x . Cache is on very nice place, we werent lucky with weather, was windy, cloudy and a bit rainy, but I made it towards cache with my little daughter, nice! Thanks for the cache, greetings from Czech Republic.
Beautiful walk to a spectactular landscape. The climb wasn't that difficult - could have been higher up or even on the other side.

Exploring the beautiful nature on Otago Peninsula today! Very nice walk over the Okia Flat to Victory beach! Main challenge of today was seeing wildlife and beautiful nature... mission accomplished! We saw sea lions and penguins in this amazing region!

We were never intending to visit this cache, even though we enjoy challenge caches, but whilst we were waiting until late afternoon to go penguin watching (a really great experience, with yellow eyed penguins being seen returning from daytime fishing trips) we went for a walk down to Victory Beach. It was only then that we noticed that this cache was nearby, and although we feared that it would be, quite literally, out of our reach, we thought that it was worth a look. The clambering around was not too fifficult, and after a few different routes up the boulders being attempted, we were able to lay our hands on the cache.
We qualify for the challenge, with only our terrain 4.5 and 5 coloumns having finds of 2, rather than the required 3. This may be seen on our Public Profile, a snip is also attached.

Another wonderful challenge. I currently have only one T rating that qualifies - T1.5 where my lowest D quantity is 5. Stats are public so these are easily checked. I’ve copied the as yet it updated chart from project-gc
An early morning start into the same general area I was in yesterday evening. A very peaceful walk from the road end to GZ where great coords made for a relatively quick find.
Thanks for the placement and a new D/T rating ticked off. Favourite Point awarded for giving me a new rating.

#6055. Day No.2 of my long weekend in Dunedin. I had a workshop down here on Thursday and Friday and decided it was too good an opportunity to not stay on and do some geocaching. So booked a couple of nights accommodation at the Top 10 campground and picked up a rental car. Today had a CITO event at 9.30am. The forecast for the afternoon was not great but decided to come out here to pick up some interesting caches. This challenge cache caught my attention as 5/4 caches are a bit thin on my D/T grid. I qualified a while back and listed the proof before coming down south. Blackhawk needs to read the cache description before claiming a find. After a stroll in the strong southerly breeze that had started up in the past 20 minutes, I reached this interesting rock feature. Didn't take too long to scramble up to the GZ. I see several muggles have found and signed the logbook even though its off the beaten track. Added my signature and replaced the cache as found. Thanks for the challenge cache Hinemoana.
We're travelling to NZ in December, so I'm checking some challenges. For this one, we meet the requirements! Still 3 months to go, but we can't wait!! Counting down... Greetings from Belgium!

We’re spending the weekend with a muggle friend who lives nearby, whose daughter was part of the airNZ Christmas video featuring this location, so it was cool to be shown where it was all filmed. His plan was to bring us for a walk up the small pyramid so I checked to see if there was a cache at the top of the hill that I could sneakily grab while here and couldn’t believe I was going to be so close to this DT challenge cache ... thankfully he was easily persuaded to complete the loop track as well! Enjoyed our walk across the flats & then a scramble up to GZ. Took a big longer than it should to make the find coz I was focusing on the wrong tree. All good once I twigged that it really was meant to be a T4 hide. Thanks heaps for the placement, screenshot of my qualifying DT grid attached. Loved our walk around & up today - what a fabulous place. And the bonus of finding this cache made it even better!! Tftc
We 3 (rusty and Rebel and myself) are down from Auckland for 3 days of caching, We regularly go away together for 3-4 day caching trips. And today this is our 3rd and last day of our adventures.
Me and rusty had planned to do this cache a month ago, unfortunately we didn’t quite qualify. So one day we headed out together and found one cache each on the same C.O’s caches. But different puzzles. So we qualified after that.
So after doing Triangulation, we came here. Rebel parked us up and we walked the 1978m each way to this cache. It was flamin' hot while walking and we were overtaken by a 4WD vehicle with 4 guys in it, they were doing pest control, so we over took them and they overtook us several times before getting to GZ. Once at GZ, me and rusty made the easy climb up, I found the cache almost straight-away due to the accurate co-ords. Then I signed us in and rusty clambered a little further up and inspected the cache for herself. Thanks for challenge Hinemoana

This visit to Dunedin was months in the planning, and it was gorby who suggested we come and find this challenge cache. He even had me finding a cache with the correct D rating so that I met the requirements for logging the cache
So here we are (rebel98 and gorby) walking in the heat, and playing tag with the local pest control team (they are checking the traps, and so far have found a male ferret)
Sadly due to time pressures we have to leave the Pyramid that will have to be another days adventure.
Thankfully once we got to the right place it did not take too long to find the cache, and the log was being signed. Another fun adventure in Dunedin, and another caching memory. Thanks for the challenge and bringing us here.

Yipeee!!! I wasn't sure I'd be able to pull this off alone, in the rain! But I wanted to take the hike past the base anyway so thought I'd just check things out. I've been in your beautiful country for almost four weeks and have loved every minute of it. The trails have all been very well maintained so this one stood out as a rogue, lol. The views were great though. I made my way up ever so carefully, maintaining three points of contact at all times. My water bottles went flying at one point so I retrieved and positioned them to mark my path on descent. I wasted time searching in the wrong areas but finally hit the prize! My D/T grid is filled 5 times so I qualify. Thanks so much for the waypoint marking the point to start the climb and thanks for hiding in such a gorgeous area.
I'm from Norway, escaping the cold winter and travelling around New Zealand for 7 weeks, using geocaching as my tourguide. Already back in Norway I realized that I would love Dunedin, looking at the different hiking-challenges in the area and all the old caches. Unfortunately I am getting close to the end of my travels, so I don't have as much time as I hoped for. I was originally planning to have 2 full days here, but quickly realized that it wasn't enough. I managed to squeeze in 2 more days, skipping some other plans I had, which I don't regret. I had an amazing time in Dunedin, doing lots of hiking and the weather was good all the time. Dunedin truly is a geocachers paradise.
Today I started my day walking up Mt Kettle and the Mihiwaka Trig. Then I continued over to the Pyramids and did the circuit there. On the way to the Pyramids I got my adrenalin-fix, crossing over to the islet in Papanui Inlet on low tide. I finished my day watching the beautiful views in the evening-sun at the top of Harbour Cone.
About this cache:
This cache was high on the list of caches to find while in Dunedin. I've been chasing this d/t-combination all over NZ, it's the last one I need to fill my grid for the 2nd time. Reading the description I was a bit nervous if I would be able to get to it, but it wasn't as hard as expected. I had to search for a while before I found it, once at the right spot, it was an easy find. I am giving it a favouritepoint because I'm so glad I got this combination, but also for showing me the pyramids and the beach. If it wasn't for this cache, I wouldn't have come here. Screenshot attached as proof of qualification. Tftc

We were surprised to find the carpark full and there were lots of people at the pyramids but no one where we needed to be. GPS had us at another tree but commonsense won and the find was quickly made. Found with debsnz
Having qualified for this a while ago, it was time to collect our smiley. This cache also fills in another square on our D/T Grid . . maybe that should be our challenge for this new year - find caches to fill in the grid. Found with AorakiSheep
Visiting from the UK. Having completed every square at least three times I had no problem qualifying for this. In fact my T1.5 column has a lowest entry of 38 and the column with the least is T4.5 with a lowest entry of 7.
Exploring the Otago peninsula on our first full day. So after a visit to the Royal Albatross Centre (alas, with no albatrosses) we came to take a look at the Pyramids. After failing to find the cache on the top of the pyramid I continued on my own to this one. More straightforward than I was expecting. Great to get my first diff-5 for New Zealand

I am working on this challenge and plan on having it completed before the end of the year with 6 more finds needed. With BCD who has recently qualified so log signed and watch this space!
Qualified for this a couple of weeks ago .so the plan was hatched for a mission to dunnas to meet up with KJR and have a long overdue caching session .

This morning we came out for an enjoyable and interesting walk through the Okia Reserve to sign off on the challenge. The WPs along the way certainly helped with navigation to our destination. Once at the rock one of us began the climb to find the cache. The rocks here are covered with the native Easter Orchid (Earina autumnalis) which was in full flower and filling the air with its delightful perfume. Being careful where to step he made his way up to GZ and was soon holding the cache aloft. Thanks for a great Challenge and fantastic place for the cache. Adding a Favourite Point.

Preparing for my second visit to New Zealand, this time with Dartmoor Deliverer, and looking at challenge caches in the hope that we will be able to find them during our busy schedule! I hope that the CO will accept my following qualifying finds, as indeed I have been fortunate enough to completed my D/T grid 3 times with help from geocaching friends, and can be seen on my public profile and on the uploaded photo.
As it fills one of the spaces for D/T I've being eyeing this one up for a while. I debated whether I should purposefully go for this or if I would wait patiently until one day I happened to fulfil the requirements for this cache. With only 5 caches needed in my 1.5 Terrain line, I thought I might as well just knuckle down and get those last five that I needed. Yay! I now qualify so I went off to the pyramids today and found it. Thanks
Signed the log as I was in the vicinity and I do not get to visit that area too often.
Still a bit shy at the top end of several terrain columns, but I guess I will make it in the end.
[Old Blue Ford Tractor](https://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?guid=ba79715a-0e1f-42e9-a541-3ab8dde1f6af) visiting. Looks as if the hiding place is not inaccessible enough - someone left a cigarette lighter and cigarette in the container - both now removed. Katie-W pointed out that the plants all over the rocks are orchids and advises us to come back at Easter to see them in bloom.
After protracted discussions yesterday at the cache site, I needed to recheck my chart, and I have discovered that due to changes made by some CO's , and a mistake on my part, I have not qualified after all. So I need to wait a bit longer ubntil I have caught up.
This is my second visit to this cache. I was surprised to have the logbook was passed to me to sign as I've still got quite a ways to go, But I was reassured that I can do so and log it as a find once qualified. On my first visit early last year I only had a total of nine finds under my belt, now I need a minimum of 8 finds for T of 1.5 or a T of 3. We will have to see how long that will take.
Had a lovely morning in this area. An important destination was this challenge cache. I fullfill the conditions for 7 times, as you can see in my open profile.
I liked the climb to the cache which was uncovered on the ground. Maybe the birds?
Thanks for this interesting cache!

Had intended to climb a pyramid but noticed this one close by. No phone reception so we decided to attempt to sign the log and later on see if we had the requirements to log online. Enjoyed a nice walk out to GZ, worrying all the way about "the climb". Those feelings were not helped when we saw the host rock. Huge relief when the cache was found straight away using just cache radar and not requiring belays or crampons. A real feeling of suspense when we got back to civilisation to find out what our D/T grid looked like...phew, we just qualify using T1.5 (with a minimum of 5 caches in each D rating). Worth a favourite, thank you!
