#3201 and 2/3 finds today – New Year’s Day!

Found after another successful CITO event organised by DucInc - this time on nearby Carnmoney Hill.

Actually, I didn’t have this cache in my sights for today but when mappuser asked if was I going up the hill to find it, and mentioned that one or two others were intending to go as well, I quickly agreed, offering to give him a lift in my car as he had walked to the CITO Event.

It wasn’t until I got out of the car at the parking spot that I realised it was actually one of mappuser’s caches! So while he paced about the layby, andreabelfast (who had followed us in her own car) set about finding the hide. The coordinates seemed to be a bit out but disregarding this, we searched for the clue item, which andreabelfast soon found after we had taken ‘the long way around’ to GZ.

A nice wee hide! Took two TBs to move on and signed the log before replacing as found. With the CO looking on, andreabelfast had a go and obtaining more accurate coordinates, which sadly wasn’t a success. I confess I didn’t have my GPSr with me, so I was no help on this occasion!

All done, we got into our respective vehicles and parted company. Before setting off for home, I drove on up the hill to drop mappuser off at his home nearby. Later, driving back down the hill, I saw sgtzara’s camper van parked in the layby and mrs_sgtzara searching for the cache!

Grateful for ‘the push’ that helped me find this one today. TFTC

New Years Day 2016!

Away with mrs_sgtzara and Tigra, our 11 year old GSD enjoying a wee New Years Holiday in our Motohome (yes, you really can use them all year round).

After attending an, as usual, cracking DucInc CITO at Carnmoney Hill - The 2016 Hello! CITO http://coord.info/GC689XB we cached our way from same towards Antrim before heading to our Caravan Park for the night to have our tea, a wee game of Monopoly and watch a DVD or two.

Anyhow, as for this cache, I was tempted to write a log along the lines of, 'Good cache, good clue, good spot', and leave it like that, but then this CO knows that that's not how I roll!

From speaking to the CO at the aforementioned event, I got a wee tip in relation to using something that a Jedi might possess to help us find the cache. So, upon arriving at the layby, I never really bothered using my GPSr and instead headed into the area I figured it might be hidden along with mrs_sgtzara.

Five minutes or so later, we'd nothing to show for our efforts. I extended my search area a touch and something caught my eye which I felt was worthy of further examination. Yep, examination of said 'something' revealed the cache. Signed the log then replaced all as found for the next cacher to enjoy.

Nice location here (good spot), I'm sure there's scope for another cache or two, wink wink, nudge nudge.

SL & TFTC.

Good cache, good clue, good spot (signed log as 'sgtzara' to save space).
