Found it! Yay! Weve been here before but didnt find it. Today we were driving on our way to collect another cache and stopped here for another look. Our search had to wait awhile as a few muggles drove past. One muggle thought we were up to no good and did a very slow drive by and even stopped down the road to spy on us. Eventually they drove away. I searched where I had previously looked and again no success. Muggle Wen suggested a certain area further along looked like a geotrail so I went over and after a struggle with blackberries I found the cache. Phew! The cache is still intact and log book nice and dry. I took a TB which wasnt registered to the cache and will place it in another cache with more traffic very soon. TFTC SL I also took some rubbish away!
We were out and about with Sims_family and planning to target a few large caches. This was the one further from home, so it was the first one on our list.We worked out GZ and then set about finding the cache. Oh, there it is. Excellent, there are plenty of vicious blackberries guarding the cache. We drew the short straw and made our way into the cache. We made it to the cache and found it in excellent condition. We signed the cache, returned it and then made our way back out to safety. We only lost a little bit of blood in the process. It wasn't the volume that bothered us, just that we had lost some from all limbs and had to spend a few minutes finding all the thorns that had broken off and were embedded in clothing. As we jumped back in the Ginja Ninja, we heard the pings of new caches being released, and we abandoned our plans and made our way to the first of two first to finds of the day.Thank you TeamThommo for this letterbox cache.
I had something that I needed to get to Pakenham today so I invited Dromaniax to have a day caching our way there and back. Both of us love finding large caches so this one was high on our to do list today while in the area. We used all of our Geosenses in tracking this one down and it was Dromaniax who went in to make the grab once the cache was spotted. He did lose some blood in the process though. After the mission was complete our phones started to go off with the lovely sound of new caches dropping so all plans for the rest of the day were thrown out in the hunt for a first to find or two Thank you TeamThommo for the hide and large cache
WAS SO CLOSE TO LOGGING A DNF! had to drive and look at the pictures and other logs. I feel like the logs and photos was it for me
After an early morning event at Officer, I came down here with Pilot, the crusty canine assistant. Never remembering to read the web page before starting the hunt, it took us quite some time to locate the container, heavily guarded by those nasty prickly plants. Pilot was smarter than me, deciding to watch the old varmint putting in the hard yards. Eventually we had the log signed and tiredly headed homewards.
Thanks foe this cache Team Thommo. I am trying to visit all the monuments erected in honour of these great explorers.

A last minute plan had been hatched to make my way to QOGM. Very little planning had been done but a very rough outline was in place and it was going to be a day by day trip.
Starting today at Day 1. Leaving home via Phillip Island and out to Gippsland.
Redeeming an old DNF here. It still took a few moments but I found and signed the cache this time.
Thanks TeamThommo for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

Finally time to redeam this DNF the Gumboots went on the walking stabbing pole came out. Thanks Riddell for the updated information this time with the right Meters I had no trouble finding the cache. Avoiding the prickles in was another story..
Found it after an extensive search.
Was about to give up and walked a “significant “ way further 49m from listed coordinates.
Mrs Riddell caught eye of something blue behind a significant amount of Bridal Creeper.
You have to fight the blackberries, so a pair of clippers would be very helpful!!
It’s sooooo overgrown you cannot see the container until On top of it and tearing the vegetation off it. Doubt that the owner could find this without help either!!! It’s certainly overgrown since it’s photos.
The 2/2 rating in this may be a bit “gentle” at this stage considering the horrible vegetation to tackle.
TFTC which certainly kept us entertained.

Due to unforeseen circumstances Mr Smokey Bear will no longer be a part of Team Smokey Bear and will continue his adventures as "SmokeyBearOG".
So I'm relogging all previous finds under my new account.
Unfortunately this log will not show the original logging date.
**Thanks to TeamThommo for this adventure, looking forward to many more.**

First of four found on a soggy Saturday.
Dad and son wanted a bike ride with a few finds, to while away our weekend, and this fit the bull. A Letterbox, and a Large to boot, also keep us chipping away toward some challenges we are working on.
Needed TeamThommo’s helpful photo to identify the spot, and copped a handful of hairy caterpillars, but apart from the blackberries all else was great. TFTC, bug collected.

In the area finishing off the Pretzel series, we noticed this Letterbox cache nearby. A short detour while I read the cache page and we had arrived at the posted coordinates.
Surprising ourselves by knowing which direction was west, we headed off that way for approx 30 metres until Steve had the pleasure of ducking into the overgrown bushy area, while I stayed besides the road looking after the dog we are minding for a few weeks.
It’s always great to find these types of containers, especially in suburbia, and when the signing duties were completed, Steve replaced as found.
Thank you TeamThommo for an excellent Letterbox cache. Having only found a couple of caches in this series, we need to return to try and collect the rest.

Beginning my day at the watering hole at 3 am, the team assembled for a hearty breakfast. Various plans were discussed and the beginning of our route was decided.
The camel train moved out before the sun had risen, in an attempt to beat the scorching heat of the day.
We plodded along paying careful attention to the various trail markers and eventually arrived at our first day camp.
Provisions had been left nearby to ensure the success of our mission.
After carefully pacing out the required number of steps we remembered that Thommo has much longer legs than either of us, so we were forced to do a cross between strides and a series of long jumps but eventually the site was located by Burke.
We reprovisioned and left some supplies for those that follow.
Well played nirgalagrin.
Took: Lion (Because, well you know!)
Left: 2 pins (Badges)
Dropped: Crusty's tractor TB
Since the Varmint had joined us earlier this morning for breakfast.
Yours sincerely, Wills.

World Wide Flash Mob!
This year's silly o'clock event was done and dusted, but n0w0rries and I had plenty of caching to do...
I log caches on GCA as well, mainly for two types: Trig points and... the Burke and Wills series.
So far, I've followed the expedition most of the way to the Murray, and hope to log my way to the Dig Tree one day.
Anyway, perusing the map around the flashmob site, this one stood out, first by being a large cache, and then the name. Being a letterbox is an added bonus.
We parked in a puddle free spot close to the coordinates, then measured out beyond the stated distance by about the same again, working our way back by torchlight, staying as untangled as possible.
And in one of the likely spots, a flash of... Aha!
Nice one, TeamThommo.

Searched through blackberries and long grass but was unable to locate the cache in the 30m zone. It looks like someone else has since found it so I was obviously not far enough away from GZ.
While out and about though we would stop at this letterbox too, after a little further hopping up the road then the 30m given we found this one, thorns and all. TFTC
Out with xambo4u and BoabTree we cached in the Cora Lynn area doing the Auslan series. I loved the variation of these puzzles and enjoyed translating them. We also completed the Pretzel series.
The story around the dig tree is very sad. I am glad we didn’t have to dig to survive. A good store was found here. Thanks TeamThommo.

Out and about with echidna44 and Boabtree today clearing out some old missed ones and to tackle the Auslan series. Stopped to check out this one and after a read did the walk and then some more. The blackberries are nice to eat but they are everywhere down here but not nice when you are trying to make a path through. Thanks for the photo listed we could narrow it down and make the find. Loved the connection here with history. Thanks for the cache TeamThommo
I know the Burke and Wills story well, I have been to the Dig tree more than once and seen many monuments commemorating their endeavours. I thought I might have to use a pick and shovel to exhume the cache, but fortunately this was not the case. Fortunately we had more success finding the cache than Burke and Wills had in finding their rations.
I have found this cache as part of our team but need to log it in my own name for a challenge that I am attempting, so re-visited today and resigned. Thanks for the cache.
We spent quite a while here searching for this one. Eventually Mrs Papi4506 extended the search zone and spotted the hide.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache, TeamThommo

We have had a very interesting start to 2021, but unfortunately that didn’t include the opportunity to do much starting. On New Years Eve we started the celebrations early while we were staying with our son and his family in Tumut NSW. We had a lovely day with a picnic and lots of fun with our grandkids in a local river, but on the way back to our sons place we heard that Victoria was about to close the border to anyone returning from NSW, so if we didn’t want to spend 2 weeks in quarantine we need to reach the Albury/Wodonga border before midnight. A quick scramble with us, our daughter and her family of 4 plus our 2 grandsons who were spending a few weeks with us for the school holidays and we made it with plenty of time to spare. A bonus was that we beat the exodus from further north and had very little delay at Checkpoint Charlie. We got to ring in the new year somewhere between Yea and Healesville and finally made it home around 2:30am. The following three weeks we had grandkids staying with us, and the boys are too young to enjoy long days caching, so now we are finally able to get out and about.
As we had expected from previous logs the photo helped us identify where this one could be found. Lucky for us GZ was on the right side of the fallen tree. We also picked up a TB from the cache

I believe this one is my first letterbox cache find. Even at just over 300 finds, still feels like a newbie and grateful to be tagging along with the seasoned cachers sussvulture and learning a bit. Will get started on a stamp design for my caching name soon! TFTC TeamThommo.
"I have never attempted a Letterbox cache before", said our team mate for the day. "Don't worry, this one looks easy", sad I. Well, I had to eat my words. We thoroughly investigated the area around 30 m west of the icon, but there was no cache to be found. So we looked at the photos and after a while we did find the favourite container of all geocachers some 45 meters away. Disturbed a fluffy caterpillar when opening the box, but it did not look harmed by our action. We added your stamp's imprint to our letterboxing book and stamped the log with ours. Left a TB that has had a long COVID break, to finally continue its journey.
Hunting a few of The Slog caches today and turned onto the side road to hunt for this one. After reading the description just drove past the published coords the requisite 30 metres and started hunting. One side of the road was basically a giant blackberry bramble and there wasn't really any obvious hiding spots on the other side so almost just gave up. I had a look at the logs to see if there were any clues there and there were the photos showing the location and the cache so went looking for them. I soon located the right spot and had the cache in hand but I would not have found it without the photos! My GPSr was showing 47m to the published coords so future finders may find this useful. Thanks to TeamThommo for this one.
WP1 missing, final still in place, will make some alterations in the next 24 hour s and enable it then
DNF, found the contents of the film container on the ground, but no film container. Followed instructions but couldn't find cache.
As with many previous searchers, I could not find anything at WP1. Oh well, next time perhaps.
Continuing with the 'slog' this one was a little harder to find, turns out my strides aint as long as i thought they were. all was in order signed the log and returned it where found.
Thanks TeamThommo was a great day out.
Thanks TeamThommo was a great day out.
Performing a maintenance run for TeamThommo. Checked the cache and its all in good order. Given a favourite point because this was my first find for a letterbox cache. Horray!
Being in the area today we decided to undertake this series, having previously only ever found Earthcaches by the CO, which we have always very much enjoyed doing because the CO always gives so much great information even if we don't fully understand it all - consequently we think they ALL warrant higher D ratings! That aside we are so glad we did this trail today, and as to be expected there was lots of information on each page that this time we could understand and relate to! The story greatly enhanced the trail and we were willing the CO on all the way around the circuit. Congratulations to the CO for a sterling effort and for having persevered and completed the course - you have our full admiration! We soon located waypoint one where we gained the information required, and so then set off in search of the final. We searched and searched and searched but all we found was the very freshly shedded skin of a large snake! We continued our search with caution then considerable widened our search before the cache was finally found - phew! We signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cache and greetings from Zimbabwe
Heading down to Nyora for the CITO and as I had a bit of time I decided to do a few of The Slog caches before moving on.
This was a great themed letterbox Cache and I must remember how to count.
Found WP1 got the info required and headed off to GZ.
I have been to the dig tree and what an effort that the explorers went to to make their way up north.
Thanks TeamThommo TFTC.

Came out for this cache and to replace the wp for co. Cache was a little bit of a hunt due to long grass. But found with tsb.
Didn't find anything but wet grass at WP1. Maybe another time.
Thanks for bringing me here anyway

On Father's Day, while the rest of the family was doing their chores, homework and exercise I had some time to get some local caches. Having almost finished the Slog series, this was my chance to turn the last blue sad faces into smileys
Second visit to this cache, and I was aimed with a suggestion on what to try if I couldn't find WP1.
Once again spent 10 minutes looking for anything at way point 1 but came up short, so using the hint from a PAF, I went looking for the final.
After a short search I soon saw something that was man made, but it was only a discarded tyre, however very close to it was a nice sized cache.
Please to turn this one into a smiley, and only 1 more Slog cache to go, and with some more time before needed to get home, I might now take another look for that one too.
Thanks for the cache Team Thommo

Found by Mary & David at 1215. We had a very early start for Pink Piggy's Dads' Day Breakfast Event at Beaconsfield. We're not often over this way, so continued on after the Event. We had our Fathers Day lunch yesterday with 2 of our 3 children and 3 of our 5 grandchildren. Couldn't find WP1, but a PAF yielded the required instructions, and a quick find followed. Dropped off "A reely good time" TB. Our thanks to TeamThommo.
No luck today finding WP1.
Have now been given a hint from previous find, and will revisit another time
Thanks anyway Team Thommo

Not a very long log but due to me being on a field trip in the middle of the desert for 95% if the duration of the hidden creatures event I have to go non stop until I get these darstedly souvenirs. Anyways thanks for the cache and the adventure of the game.
As we approached WP1, we were greeted with a wasp nest, but no film canister. Even checked hint, and there was no landmark as described in hint for WP1.
However, the hint suggested that the cache was within walking distance, hence, we decided to broaden the search for a possible geotrail.
Our geosenses was working in our favour, as it wasn't long before we found the large container. TFTC TeamThommo.
Chiefton!!!

Hooray found it with pwala. So happy to sign the log thanks for cache and hunt
MontsII and I decided on a bit of a drive today in order to find our cache. We decided to avenge my earlier DNF on this one. Today we found the instructions quickly, and then both set off looking at different spots along the way as... we both have different stride Lengths! Neither of ours matched TeamThommo’s! However MontsII proudly made he find, deciding to announce it to me only when he realised he didn’t have a pencil on him! TFTC TeamThommo
Come back wth crank1 and she spotted the wp1 hooray... then steps and no luck so sweat and give up.
Search and contact CO no luck for me. Maybe need mow the grass so i can see lol. So DNF from me.
I’ll be so annoyed if this one has gone... I’ll try to get there next week to look and replace

Apologies for the late log. I had some rare time off on a weekday afternoon so headed out this way to tackle The Slog series and a few others nearby. A letter box cache provided a nice diversion here and I liked the Dig Tree connection. I didn't take long at WP1 but my strides were a little short and so I had a bit more searching before I got my hands on the cache. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache and a great series TeamThommo. My 21st of 24 finds on a productive afternoon.

10538 and 3rd of 6 found today.
Tricky finding the first bit with wet undergrowth and all and then even trickier finding the cache. I'm 198cm tall and figure that the member of TeamThommo who placed this had to be at least 228cm tall - either that or I can't count....
Nicely done and enjoyed the hunt.
Thanks for the cache TeamThommo and the zack.

Today we tackled this series which provided some challenges with a great variety of hides. Mrs "T" found all the hides while Mr "T" did the navigating. We enjoyed the day out even if it was raining! An easy find today after contacting the CO. We replaced the instructions as stump has been cut off. The film canister is now at the base of the stump under bark.
Out and about but failed to unearth this one. We think the stump has been cut off as they have been down the road and slashed the edges and cut a few trees to ground level.
We only had a short amount of time to find this one and it had us stumped. We will see you again when we conquer Pretzel!!!
It has been a while since I last was in Pakenham doing some work so after I finished this morning, I went off hunting caches. I like Letterbox caches and having failed with the first one I tried, I took a short drive to come looking for this one. Success this time...found the waypoint container quickly and it wasn't long before I had the cache in hand. Stamped the cache log book, stamped my letterbox log book and left a Trackable that I have been carrying around for a bit too long now.
Thanks TeamThommo for the extra effort in making this a Letterbox cache.

After collecting some more of the pretzel series picked up some other local ones with Gunks. Tftc
Found tonight with Trailstevo. Thought we would brace the weather but appear to have found a dry gap in the clouds . TFTC
Parked right next to WP1 and picked up the clue. Maybe we should have sent geopartner, who has longer legs, out for the next bit. I ended up a little short, but got there in the end. Devastated that I left my letterboxing book at home. Never mind. We'll return one day to complete a some of the other series in the area (and possibly this one if geobub doesn't cooperate), so I'll just have a placeholder for now. Picked up a pathtag! Never seen one in a cache before. Handed geobub some maracas. Now she is making plenty of noise in the back seat, but is happy!
The fourth real target of the day. A nice sized cache however the area is taking a real beating with plenty of geotrails around GZ as well as some dumped rubbish right next to the cache....
Thanks for putting out a fairly rare cache type, TeamThommo, appreciated.....

A side track from knocking off Pretzel. A was driving down to get this, when up ahead Farmer Bob was driving his tractor and he was nice enough to pull over and let me through, but I didnt want to go past as he was about 300m away and the cache was only about 100m!! But being not a butthole, I drove past and gave him a wave, then went and collected a Multi in Nyora that I had solved a while back, but couldn't collect due to a muggle camper (as in gaming, not as in a tent dweller). On my return I pull into the road to see Farmer Bob driving back up the road again!! Arrghhh - it was all very Charlie Brown. So I waited at the start of the road and eventually he turned in to his home with feed for he cattle, and I drove on.
At the cache it was my first time deploying the geogloves, as many spiders thar be. Deciding not to do the Monty Python steps, I ended up being about ten metres away, but found it regardless. TFTC and the adventure.

As we were travelling today from Wilsons Prom back towards the western side of the bay we decided to pick up some caches in an area we had never explored before. Didn't have time enough to complete the series, so it was just a selection on the list. No problem finding this one. Not being quite average about 10% was added to the instructions and that gave a very accurate stopping point. All was soon done as required. Thanks to Team Thommo for this fun letter box cache and the series. Favourite point given.
A nice day with no plans so I met up with Spiffy- for some random caching and to collect a few that had been on our list for a while. I loved the cammos in this series. Funny and clever. Our steps werr shorter than average but we found it. Thanks to TeamThommo for placing this cache.
Well with Fleabag- finally coming back to Victoria from all his holidays everywhere we decided to head out this way to try and complete the slog series and also to gather a couple of WhereIGo caches as well as anything else that was nearby that looked doable. It was pretty warm and sunny today but not overly hot plus a fair bit of driving so we could cool down every few minutes.
Sorry for the generic log but I had already found 2 of the slogs but no clue as yet. We never did find clues A & B but with our incredible deductive powers we still managed with the last 3 clues to calculate GZ of the final. Some really cool camos I had never seen before as well.
We had a pretty good run and managed to find them all today with no DNF's. Had to abort # 10 while a muggle was mowing metres from GZ but returned later for the find.
Thanks TeamThommo for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Having found a small number of caches in the series yesterday, we returned today to see if we could find the remainder in "The Slog" series, Accurate coordinates led to a quick find of WP1. From there, accurate information led to a quick find of the cache container. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks TeamThommo for the cache and the series.
Spending a few extra days in the greater Melbourne area after attending the Surf Coast MEGA. All good here, cache found without any difficulties, logbook signed, and all replaced as found. Many thanks for helping make my holiday fun!

Out and about with mark9375 and Geojill_11 this one was the next one for the day. It wasn't hard to follow the instructions to GZ for a quick discovery of the cache. TFTC
Found while out with geojill_11 and jascat collecting nearby geocaches mainly on the slog series
A very unusual geocache, because it is ill give it a fav, great cache, always love large caches TFTC

I'd worked on the P.I.G. puzzles a while ago and recently discovered the Pretzel/Project Pretzel series so spent some time (when I should really have been studying...) cracking these too. I challenged myself to solve them all myself which I did except for one which G' of GJMMelb gave me the solution for (he solved many of them independently) as time was short. Combining these puzzles with a few others in the area and The Slog series a grand plan for a Big Day Out of caching was hatched with a core list of 133 caches to find! Our merry band of cachers - lochb who did the driving and G' of GJMMelb and myself who did the bulk of the brain and legwork - set out early for a full day of mostly drive-by caching. We succeeded in getting 134 finds before light stopped play! This was despite some setbacks: a handful of DNFs (luckily we found other caches to substitute for those we couldn't find), a couple of errors in solutions that we luckily sorted out and still managed finds, an unwelcome flat read tyre and even a couple of "close encounters" with a helicopter - we weren't sure if they were checking us out or not though. A great day of caching that saw all three of us beat our personal best finds in a day

While I was out in the area, I made the detour to grab this letterbox and a large container which there are few and far between. I had the road to myself and made the find on the info that was needed. Once I moved off to sort this one out I was wondering where it could be. I think I made a highway of footsteps along here as I paced back and forth wondering what i was doing wrong. i finally made the find after about 20 minutes of searching. Signed and replaced as found.
**Thanks for placing this letterbox hybrid TeamThommo** [^]

I don't actually encounter all that many letterboxes but I pretty much always stop for them. And so I did here this morning. The information at the starting coordinates was found after a bit of a rummage around and some dodging of spiders. I really didn't think the required device was present at first, but then the sun wasn't yet up and I'd left my torch in the car, so I had no right to go 'thinking' anything. The instructions found here were quite straightforward, the only cause for concern being accuracy. It turned out I needn't have been concerned much at all. The rather substantial cache wasn't in the first place I looked but it was certainly in the second or third. Nice. I took a couple of trackables which, come to think of it, I should log without further delay. Thanks TeamThommo!
I had a TB that wanted to only go into letterbox caches and I knew this one was here from prior research. After doing the nearby multi, we decided to come find this one. First stage, no problem. Followed the instructions and made a nice find in the first spot we checked. Cache in great condition. Dropped off a TB and signed log.
Thanks teamThommo, I love letterbox caches, especially when they are nice and straight forward.

Love these letter caches. Found Wp1 without a problem. Counted the paces as we headed off. Fortunately I spotted GZ as I paced out. My steps were a bit out. Log signed and a stamp applied. All good and back safe. Thanks
Obviously my steps are not quite "average adult " size steps. I found it finally, left a Travel Bug. Got and left a stamp and headed off.
