While staying at the boat ramp for the night, went for a walk up to Riley's Hill and soon found the well hidden cache. Thanks for the cache.
Cache was still in the original place. Its been cleaned, checked and put back in its original position.
I headed out in the geo-car for a few caches today.Decided to hit a few along the way as I head down south..I found your cache, Captain Riley today. This is my 2433 find.Quick stop to grab this one.Knoxy1, TFTC, TFTH & TFTSF
Well my trip up to QOGM has officially started and I’m taking the very indirect route up to outback QLD to get there.
It has been a while since I have driven up the Hume to Sydney and some people say that it is a very boring drive but I enjoy it.
So after spending a couple of nights in Lane Cove it was time to hit the M1 and A1 and head north to the last of my target caches The Frying Pan.
After finding the Pan and a little celebration I was then in googles hands to get me to up to my next destination.
Spent the night in Taree so now back on the M1 and A1 to head to Byron Bay for the most Easterly cache and a few LGA’s along the way.
This one was definitely a big detour but as I had plenty of time a tour of the back roads was in order.
A nice little area for the kids and luckily nobody was around so I could locate this one easily enough.
Thanks Knoxy1 TFTC.

Wasn't quite sure where to park but easy enough to park off the road. Nicely done cache. Signed log and replaced as found. TFTC!
Having a few days in Ballina and taking a look at this part of the world by chasing some caches. We enjoyed coming out here and checking the trees for koalas. Thanks for bringing us here.

Yet another day trip, this time we are heading up to explore Evans Heads and surrounds. Great day and lots of interesting geological features visited.
Headed over towards the little town of Riley's Hill. One of our geokids names, he was adamant that the town had been named after him. I let Riley find this one unassisted, he did a great job in what was a bit of a overgrown area to search. Kids had a bit of a play on the playground before we moved on.

Thank you, Knoxy1, for placing this cache for our enjoyment.

Thanks Knoxy. I had to negotiate with very persistent cache guardian and have taken Aussie Flag to support its mission to get to Rochester Castle.
The Cache is all cleaned , a new log book , a travel bug, and a few swaps placed inside..
Moving from Adelaide to Brisbane, jesswrigley and I decided to drive the long distance to make the opportunity a holiday, taking 12 days and passing through Victoria, New South Wales, and then finally arriving in Queensland. We spent the first few days in SA's Riverland, visiting Morgan, Berri and Renmark; and then drove through Mildura in Victoria. In NSW, we stopped at Hay, Parkes, Merriwa, Tamworth, Port Macquarie, and Coffs Harbour, and then entered Qld to stop for a night in Robina in the Gold Coast.
Today, jesswrigley and I travelled from Coffs Harbour to Robina, Gold Coast. We started out the day with breakfast in Coffs Harbour, and then visited Richmond Valley Council LGA driving through Woodburn, Rileys Hill, Broadwater and Wardell. Lunch was had in Ballina, exploring some of the coastline, and then we proceeded north across the Qld/NSW border and stopping in Tweed Heads and Coolangatta to complete an Adventure Lab there. A final drive was then made to Robina. Weather appeared to be mixed today, with a number of intermittent heavy rain showers and dry window durations.
Whilst driving close to this geocache, we noted that this was one of those caches that hadn't been found for some time. We were up to the challenge, and decided to detour through Riley's Hill and stop here. There was quite the cute cow in the nearby paddock, who greeted us upon our arrival. We then followed the coordinates to GZ, and noted the bouncy/inaccurate coordinates from past logs. So we followed our senses to more logical hiding spots. I searched one place initially, but no cache seemed to be there. We then hunted around the area searching everywhere we thought was the best place, and considered the nearby treehouse may have caused this cache to be removed. After spending 15 min looking around and close to giving up, I returned back through past logs, and searched once again that same initial place.
We needed to really dig the leaf litter out and dig deep, but eventually I hit something that matched the hint. Subsequently, the cache was found. Wow, that was well and truly hidden! The cache container was in good shape, but the logbook was quite damp. I thought the coordinates were about 7 m out from the posted coordinates. Thanks Knoxy1 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. It was also nice to have found this cache with 399 days [13.1 months / 1.09 years] of unfound love since its last find on 14/01/2020.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

A very tricky hide which took us some time to find, having not been found for some time it was covered in leaf litter. Signed and replaced. The cache is in good condition.TFTC
Found with my family while on holidays.
Day 3. Headed out early from our Coffs holiday house to Burleigh, Finding some select caches along the way for finds in new counties. The boys had a quick play while I signed the log. There was water in the container, but the log was still dry. Could do with a look at.
Thanks for the break and cache!

I was in Broadwater with the kids today, so decided to stop and have a look for this cache. Geoson found it quickly, but the contents were very wet. Kids were keen to play on the playground for a while so I left everything out in the sun for the 30 minutes that we were there. Was able to dry everything out. I put the log in a new bag and put the cache back in it's spot.
The nearby swimming hole was awesome, but I see you cant get in there any more. Shame all these fun places get closed in the end.
Thanks Knoxy1!

I had a job interview in Broadwater today so decided to find a couple of geocaches whilst in the area.
I can only imagine what Captain Riley's view was like from the top of the hill. I did drive up it to see if I could see anything, but couldn't. I wasn't sure if the water tank was on private property or not so chose not to go in there.

I’m not a fan of caches near kids playgrounds, but I was lucky that I grabbed this one only minutes before the school bus did their drop off.
Log is wet and cache was full of water, still managed my name of the log.
Cheers

Too good for me Knoxy. Lots of long grass and swinging compass made this a disappointing result even with the hint.
We're on our way to Brisbane for a family celebration and it's the first stage of an epic 3+ week road trip that will also take us to Broken Hill and Adelaide before we head back home to the Central Coast. A long drive today, Port Macquarie to the Gold Coast, so only time to grab 4 caches along the way.
This one was a targeted find. I'm currently pursuing a challenge that requires me to log finds in 95 counties (ie local government areas) in Australia, and Richmond Valley Shire is one of two on the Pacific Highway that I'm missing. I was a bit surprised that there are currently no caches on/near the highway around Woodburn, but a slight detour to Rileys Hill for this cache wasn't a problem, and did the trick ... a straightforward find using my geo-senses more than my GPS.
Thanks for placing this cache Knoxy1 and for the smiley.

Boofhead is great with paperwork! In the area again and was reminded by jennymarj that we found this fella together with a cast of thousands on 9/5/17. Better late than never to log the captain.
I love historical stories and little old schools so this was a great one for me to read about. We found the cache container not screwed on and replaced it sealed after logging. Left my pathtag as well. Thanks
Working in Ballina and picking up a couple of caches with jcody before heading home.
3rd time lucky. Not sure why it's taken 3 attempts. Bought the family to help search and found it within 3 minutes. What will I do next year??
Thanks for bringing us to a spot we would never have found. Geokid 3 loved the big long swing. GPS co-ords 6-7m off, found it better just to think about the most logical hiding place.
A nice place to have a picnic in the shade while the children play in the play ground
A quick park and grab in a lovely quite playground area. Never been down here before so many thanks for bringing us here. TNLN SL TFTC
Did a bit of a search and nothing found - searched another area and also nothing. Went back to original search and looked a bit harder and there it was. Thanks Knoxy1.
Fantastic quick detour off the highway for a toilet and play break in a peaceful setting. Kids had a great time on the playground and feeding grass to the friendly cow.
A great way to break up the road trip! Recommended.

Fantastic cache! Love it!! Kids had a great time on the playground too. Here with Findaroo who spotted the prize. TFTC!!
What a lovley spot.. great lil one well looked after completely dry. Geo mums find today! Tftc...
Guess what?!! Found it after gaining some much needed help. Thanks for the fun!!
Looked hard. Came up empty even with eagle eyes dad on the hunt. Very overgrown. Oh well.
A year ago to the day, I didn't find this cache ! And guess what? I didn't find it again!! I'll be back on the 9/5/17 ( hopefully) and I'll return each year until I do !! : )
Having nice day out geocaching with Wandering Me and her geofamily. Nice to find a cache in this spot.

Today I am heading to Evans Head to find a few caches.
But first, a little detour to find this one.
With a dnf last time I was here I HAD to find it this time.
I had GZ in the same place as last time. So I widened my search and soon found the cache tucked away.
Thanks for the cache.

What a cute little hill village.
We entered from the 'wrong' side , most probably gave the neighbours something to talk about - but after a short search we came up trumps. (not such a great phrase atm)

We're heading home to the Gold Coast after a week at Corindi Beach. Having spent the night in Maclean we wanted to find a final cache to end our holiday. As we'd found all the drivebys on previous trips we decided to take this little detour and grab this cache. The rain has well and truly set in but that didn't stop us! What a pretty little place, we're so glad we stopped by here. Mrs. Herbz went straight to GZ but didn't see anything obvious so she circumnavigated the area ending up where she'd started from. This time she delved a little deeper and this time came up trumps. TFTC a nice cache in a perfect spot.
Heading back from a visit to Evans Head and this cache was a must do for the day, so a scenic route home was organised and we visited a spot that we never would have know of. Nice easy find. TFTC
Wouldn't have got this today except that the road was diverted due to an accident. Good hide. TFTC
What a great hidden spot you would never know about if you didn't turn off the highway. Quick find on a quiet Sunday afternoon

We had to go back, for our Captain Riley's sake. Armed with new info and clue, yes, the co-ord's are around 10m off, others gave up again, but not our little Riley, and was found...but very camouflaged, and has to be, as it looks a favourite area for the local kids to play. Thankfully this time the very tall off putting grass had been chopped down also.
I have checked the cache today and it's still there.. I have changed the clue to make it easier to find.
Out and about in the Yamba / Maclean area today with an old friend DanteMc for a little caching and catchup.
We spent most of the day around the region and had lunch at Yamba.
Thanks to all CO's for some great caches, a couple of DNF's, a couple that seem to be missing but a great day overall. Almost 30 finds in total.
Now we are making our way home going north.
We also believe this one is missing as per previous searchers.

Looked Down , found a hole Nothing else alas! Thanks for bringing us here though!!
Feeling a gap in my finds I called in to Captain Riley after a visit to Evans Head. Scratched around for a few minutes then checked the most obvious spot. Well hidden and completely dry in spite of recent horrendous rains. Well done Knoxy1 and TFTC
We found it with our muggle relatives while out for an afternoon drive We were in the wrong spot at first but the brother-in-law found the likely spot while we were working away with the GPSr; SL; had a swing and replaced as found; TFTC
Got to GZ, but nothing?? There weren't too many options for that size cache there either. There was nothing in the clue that helped. It was way too snakey for any further venturing.
And it's a shame, we had wanted to do this for a while, as we have our own Captain Riley!

well what do you know, this is a great detour off the highway and come out at Broadwater, the Fergs all had a swing on the swings in the park, good fun and a good cache to bring us here. Thanks Knoxy1.
Amazing things you learn as a Geocacher. I didn't even know Rileys hill was a small township near Broadwater until today.
We dropped by on our way home to Lismore after a weekend away in Newcastle picking up a couple of elusive caches to help complete the D/T grid. Found the small park and soon had the cache in hand.
A nice hide.
Thanks

Great co-ords took me straight to the location. Quick find. The ground around here was very wet and water was running down the hill in a number of spots but the cache was not in danger.
