Today is we are out with a group from Western Australia and signing the log as WAC to save time and log space. This is 15432, hoping to clock over the 15,000 finds in the week in New South Wales and ACT.Thanks to Pacmania for the caches we found.OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024Head over to Australian Capital Territory for Capital GeoBash MEGA - Canberras first ever Mega Event. Easter 2024 (GC9PNFB):5 day event at Canberra Park adjacent to EPIC (Canberra Showgrounds) on the Federal Highway, only 6km from the centre of the city. The mascot for the Mega is Gangles the endemic Gang Gang Cockatoo, a bird you may see or hear while in Canberra. The official website - geobash.ozmega.com.auACT has over 4700 active caches, power trails, and over 100 Lab Adventures. Heaps of challenge caches, hikes for geocaches for all levels of skills and fitness.
Exciting times over the next couple of weeks as we takeoff for the Capital GeoBash in Canberra! Its going to be a flood of Sandgropers over east, with a host of West Aussies making the trek east for the event. Im travelling with fellow Cockburn Crew members Leg5 and Barnzy12, starting in Sydney and hitting the road to Canberra, before returning back to Sydney. Honourary mention to our fellow member, Cravo10, who couldnt make it after recently introducing a new geocacher to the world the week prior. Once in Canberra, the agenda is set, well team up with a host of Western Australians to conquer caches. Collectively, were hoping to make it the biggest ever weekend for cache finding. Following the event, the journey continues back to Sydney, with a mission to clean up caches and new Local Government Areas (LGAs), ensuring no cache is left unturned in this epic geocaching adventure. Something tells me that well need a holiday after this, well, holiday. All logs have been signed as WAC to save space, abbreviation for Western Australia Crew. Cheers Pacmania! Join us in Augusta, in Western Australias South West, for WA Goes Big 2024 (GCAGV8Y) on Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September. Log your will attend now!
The Cockburn Crew are on tour at the Capital Geobash in Canberra - travelling from Perth to Sydney, Canberra, Sydney and finally back to Perth.Today was day 6. We completed a huge number of trails, challenges, whereigos, traditional, multis, earthcaches, labs, virtuals and puzzles. It really was a great day for variety. We enjoyed caching in territory we havent been before. Weve filled our boots with some rare DTs and DTTs and generally had a great time. Thanks to the COs for a great day and event. Logs signed as part of team WA/WAC (WA Crew)
We are visiting from Canada for the GeoBash. Today is our last day in the area and we decided to go for a country drive to pick up a few more caches. This was one. TFT
Over from the West to enjoy my first Mega.Out to fill my grid and find some high favourited caches. Lots of laughs catching up with old friends and making some new friends along the way. Signing as a team - WA6Some logs are delayed and out of order - Apologies for that- its been hectic trying to keep up! Many thanks Pacmania for placing this hide for me to find and adding to my adventures.
In Canberra for GeoBash 2024. Had an awesome time and joined up with Happy Feet 1 for some epic caching fun. We tackled tricky puzzles, found loads of caches, and had a great time meeting old and new caching buddies. This is one of the caches we found whilst in Canberra.Cheers for the cache.

Something special or unusual goes here:Another quick find whilst passing. The Generic Bit:The Capital Geobash Adventure 2024. Day 8: Cruising Canberra again Yet again today myself, Anymules and Muff1 set out to try and find a few more caches. A lot of puzzles were solved over many months preparing for this trip so we wanted to grab a few of those. During the last two days the puzzle finds and concentrating on completing the USG series of challenge caches meant that when we checked this morning we had all finally qualified for as particular cache. So that cache, some L.U.C.Y. caches and a special Wedding were the targets for today. ***Thanks Pacmania for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Logs prepared and published through GSAK.
Another fantastic day here in Canberra, the locals have certainly turned the wonderful weather for the event, maybe they had a chat with the Lord Above. We did not find many caches today but they certainly are quality caches. We signed a couple of challenge caches that we do not qualify for but found many others that we do qualify for and signed. The event last night was fantastic with loads of people to chat with. SL TFTC

Wow - we so lucky to be able to explore so many different areas of the Aussie landscape following our passion for the geo game, particularly in the company of Alansee, Good Look, Micaparamedic, Team Crackers and The Drovers. (For economy of space logs of caches we found are stamped "The Mob"
Another fabulous day of fun and friendship.

The third day of caching logging as THE MOB. Once more we appreciated the CO's efforts in putting them out. The weather on all 3 days has been great for caching.
We stamped the logs as "The Mob" to save space in the logs - today there were 6 teams caching together: Team Crackers, The Drovers, Phetlern, Alansee, the lovely micaparamedic and myself.
Most of the cache finds were straight forward, yet a couple stumped us. A few were located where it was difficult to safely pull the car off of the road, but we made it work with some creative maneuvers.
2020 was not a great year, and the beginnings of 2021 have also been tricky - so when it looked like the various borders would be open again (without quarantine restrictions), a trip that was planned at the Clear Waters mega was able to occur.
Adelaide, Victoria, NSW and Canberra - a decent drive, filled with various caching activities including Adventure Labs.
Several days caching with the awesome Team Crackers, gorgeous The Drovers, fab Phetlern, cool Alansee, and the lovely micaparamedic.
We laughed, sang to a vast variety of songs and chatted - almost non-stop! [^] We piled into cars and had such a fun time. Despite the light showers, windy conditions at times, we also had sunny days to enjoy caching in.
A sincere thanks to Pacmania for placing these caches, including the enjoyable little series.

Time to pick up a couple more caches for the day while travelling with ilook4geo. It is good to get off the highway and cache along some quieter roads. This was a very easy find and the log soon had some more names added to the list of finders. All was returned as it had been found before we moved off to continue on our way. Thanks go to Pacmania for placing this cache.
