Nice walk today. Good quick find at GZ there was lots of mosquitoes as I was signing the log. TFTC barbbowman

But there was a fat spider there which gave me a hell of a fright. Bison has detached from the accessory
We got there after a couple of visits- a bike would have been faster- bring bug spray and enjoy tftc
What an epic journey, 2 visits to the wetlands, first trip minus bug spray. Remembered bug spray for the second trip but forgot a headlight. Back to the car to retrieve light for the final cache location. Divehelen was in fine form and spotted cache. Log signed. Thanks for the journey.
I've had a few visits out here, today was the day to come and collect my prize.
A lovely stroll to gz where the cache was quickly found ... very cool!
Thanks barbbowman for the WIG and cache.

barbbowman I found your cache BITE ME on 17/4/2023, 3:20 pm. This is my find 5043 and find # 12 today. Thanks for the Wherigo. Had a great time riding on the escooter getting the answers to the questions. Arrived at the final coordinates and after a short search had CIH. Nice job on the camouflage. Sure was getting bitten by mosquitoes as I was signing the log. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
On my way home from further north.
Figured that the inquisitive rangers would have the day off.
Third time here for this wig, just the final left.
A quick bike ride to GZ and a find that made me smile even if there were other things biting me.
Met E:) and snickersallan at the carpark
Thank you for this cache, happy to finally have completed it

This cache took me three trips in total, two on foot and one on bike, but it’s a great area to spend time so that was no problem. I laughed when I completed the cartridge and saw where to go next. Today we just made the quick trip to GZ where the cache was found after following the whereigo arrow. Thanks barbbowman
Today, I joined [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and baby Warren with a bike ride in Boondall and Nudgee. We left our vehicle at Boondall Wetlands, and took the nice ride south-east towards Nudgee Road, stopping off at Anne Beasley's Lookout. We then completed the circuit by returning via the Gateway Motorway bike path, which totalled a distance of 13.3 km over a duration of 2:20 hr. We completed our day's adventure with a banh mi late lunch, and a stop at Geebung Treasure Trove.
We started this Wherigo adventure on 13/10/2021 when we visited the Posted Coordinates and Zone 1. Unfortunately, this Wherigo was taking us in the opposite direction from our plan, as well as it suggesting a mode of transport that we didn't have at the time. So today was the day when we visited the remaining zones.
A well put together Wherigo, and after completing our ride, we thought we would add a short walk and make this cache find. We did note that previous finders had trouble with locating the cache, with notes that the cache was found a fair distance from their provided GZ. After not having any luck at my GZ, I continued to expand my search, and eventually managed to locate it about 40 m away. My coordinates had the cache at an offset of S +0.005' E -0.023' from the provided GZ. A nicely themed container, and the cache container was in good shape. I did see that the logbook was full from the previous maintenance log, so came prepared with another logbook page. The container now contains a new waterproof logbook, so the Maintenance spanner attribute can now be cleared. Thanks barbbowman for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

Out for coffee and cake with a friend at Shorncliffe. On the way home I decided to Bite the Bullet and actually start working out how to do whereU Go caches . This was my first solo effort successfully completed. A fitting challenge given I was on the bike.
Now while the WhereUGo part worked at the conclusion I nearly stumbled. I punched the finals into the Garmin and went in search of the elusive cache. Seems thi9s is a mistake. I almost gave up and noted others had difficulty locating the cache unless they used the WhereUGo app. Back to basics and the cache was located where the app indicated. This however was about 30 m out according to the GPS coordinates. Maybe an artifact of the app? Who known, bite me?
Enjoyed my ride diversion this morning.

More than twelve months since I started this Wherigo I returned to hopefully get a smiley. When I stopped following my phone & used my geosenses the cache was found. It also helped that Peppa said not to investigate the memorial. I’ve used the last spot on the log. TFTC
After spending the morning on our bikes battling grass, mud, fallen trees and sink holes, Patrol14 and I left the rest of the group and targeted Boondall Wetlands… we’ve got the bikes and we’re already wet and dirty… and how many more times could Patrol14 fall off her bike, it’s a mostly flat track…
Patrol14 seems to be able to recall caches required for a challenge with some ease… it’s just there are soooooo many of them… this cache of course fell into that category…
I’ve been here once before and knew vaguely that it sent us where we were heading anyway, we just had to go start it…
I was surprised where this Wherigo sent us, I shouldn’t have been, but I was… I actually enjoyed the experience of caching on the bike, and with the amount of water around, I couldn’t imagine doing this any other way…
We got lucky, and were in the perfect location when the heavens opened up… and at GZ it was Patrol14 who located the hide, I just had to extricate the container…
The cache is not at the memorial, no matter how tempting it may look… leave mum in peace…
Oh, and how many times can Patrol14 fall off her bike on a mostly flat path, once… in front of a couple of muggles who had genuine concern for her well being until she started to chant at them…
Tftc… dropping a fave point for the entire experience, cruel though it was…

After completing "and a partridge in a pear tree" multi earlier today, Peppa and I decided to grab a few targetted caches on this side of the highway. I had only recently checked the many Challenge caches on the northside to see if I qualified for any more but still need to work on about 6. One Challenge needed a Wherigo/Other to complete and had 3 on a list.
While on our walk following the Adventure Lab, I noticed this Wherigo that I could complete to finally qualify. Mentioned it to Peppa who rolled his eyes and said "OK, lets do it!" Started up the Wherigo and got the next WP location. Hmmm... may need to ride to this one. After completing the Adventure Lab, I had a quick bite to eat then onto the bikes to the WP.
The path is quite flat except for the bridges over the creeks but water has encroached onto the path in places which made for interesting cycling. We stopped for a few other caches along the way and WP after WP we past before we got to the furtherest WP and lucky for us, we stopped at the shelter just as the heavens opened up. Waited for the shower to pass then made our way back to the final.
I only fell over once.... it was uphill, I was tired from the morning ride battling long grass, there were muggles who spoke to me and I gracefully exited my bike in the praying position. The lady was concerned for me but I said I was OK!! Peppa just stood there in amazement that I had fallen off... again. (note- the bike is a bit big for me and I can't touch the ground while seated so I pretty much fall off the bike to stop).
I was sure the path markers said 8.6kms to Nudgee Road but on the way back it said 3.6km. Happy that it wasn't longer otherwise I would have died somewhere along that path....
Pushed through the urge to stop many times and made our way to GZ. Ventured in to find the cache tucked away in its hide. SL then returned as found.
Another epic adventure on the same day. A fav point for the journey.

Well the wetlands certainly lived up to their name today! The rain was on and off and we often questioned if we should keep going but the answer came up as ‘why not, we’re already wet!’ So we did! We walked it and it was long but a nice area to walk through.
It was a good, straightforward Wherigo which made it better due to the weather. At GZ I used the Wherigo gps as the geocaching app sent me in the wrong direction. Cache was quickly uncovered at GZ but JDavs had to do the retrieving as a nice big spider was sitting too close to the cache for my liking!

Had started on this wherigo on my last visit here but it got too late to finish it off. Enjoyed the lovely walk around the wetlands and had a little surprise looking at us at GZ. Love this area and strangely not a mossie in sight this afternoon. Thanks CO for the beaut wherigo.

I walked the whole way and picked up some other caches along the way. At gz I initially used the coordinates in the Geocaching website that the Wherigo gave me but these were out by about 20+ metres so used the Wherigo which took me directly to the cache which was a fun surprise. Tftc and Wherigo.
@1110
With an 8 hour layover between flights, and needing 13 caches to top up my find numbers for the day, I took the opportunity to visit the Boondall Wetlands, and enjoy a wander. Completed the wherigo ok, but the final was too elusive for me today.

Well yesterday I went to GZ again looking for this little bugger. I had an hour spare after work and spent that whole hour searching for this one. I rang a previous finder to try and get some help, I was here because I noticed the CO had been and checked on the cache after my last DNF, “it is there”, thank you for checking.
This one has evaded me 5 times now so today I came back with a previous finder for some help. He had a little trouble but knew where to found it; it was nowhere near where I was nor where the coordinates had me. I was so glad to finally grab this one.
It was a big whereigo to do and I understand why it is could “bite me”, lol. I did enjoy doing this one and happy to get the log signed. Thanks to the CO for the placement and the time for this one.

went to check on this one today and cache in definitely in place
co-ords were about 4-8 metres today but it was cloudy and sprinkling

On the 14th having completed the tasks involved with this cache I reached GZ at now 6pm and the mozzies were biting. My search brought up nothing but my search blindness may be due to the lack of light as it is now 7pm. Back today to have another look around for this final but no luck today.
Well, when weekend plans are cancelled due to lockdown and outdoor exercise is permitted... what better to do but a bike-friendly Wherigo? Headed out looking oh-so-fresh in one of many masks I sewed yesterday, and got this one sorted. I’m not always that clever, as evidenced by the fact I knew where I was going and the cache name and yet still didn’t put repellent on. Silliness. Got a bit chewed up by mozzies at the last waypoint and the final, but didn’t get chewed by a big and ugly spider at GZ . Eww! Great little tour and nice cache! Thanks very much
We picked a nice day to try for this one which was good because we had to have a couple of goes at it. At WP3 the App just didn’t want to reveal our question no matter how many times we exited the zone and came back in. So we ‘quit’ and back we went to start again. Lucky we were on our bikes and it wasn’t too long before we’d covered the first two WPs again and heading back to WP3 with our fingers crossed.
This time it worked a treat. Phew! Then onto the next. And then the next. Boy, did we over think this question! Sent out a plea for help to a previous finder and had a quick response. Much appreciated. And soon we were on our way again. At least we had a nice tail-wind for the last leg.
Then at GZ we wandered around in circles, faithfully following the arrow as is bounced around the forest. Passed a touching memorial to someone’s ‘Mum’ along the way. Eventually the little arrow settled and we found the cache. At last!
Thanks for the cache barbbowman.

Out an about on an early morning run today - goodness me I have lost a LOT of fitness, and I need to run my not-so-little butt off. Tackling the new adventure lab and this whereigo at the same time. Note for future finders... I think operating the whereigo app and adventure lab app at the same time melted the brain of my phone, and I got all sorts of errors. Easier perhaps to come back and enjoy this beautiful wetland twice .
Interesting memorial to "Mum" found somewhere along our travels. Sad, but beautiful at the same time.
The final cache was a relatively easy find, and a welcome relief after some extended bipedal movement . Thanks barbbowman for a great little whereigo!

I have been meaning to come to Boondall Wetlands for sometime now and grab a few caches that are in the area and since I had the day off today was the day to do just that. I arrived at the carpark at about 7:30am, doused myself in mozzie spray since this location is notorious to have mass swarms of them.
The day was a mix of fun, torture and I guess horror as several things didn't go to plan, but I got there in the end and managed 8 caches on todays outing.
The weather was perfect, a little warm, but there was a constant breeze which made it somewhat more comfortable.
Well well well...
This was the main target cache for the day and what a dousy!
Everything started off well, for now. I arrived at the first WP and did that no problem, then off to the next one, no problem there to, but after WALKING 1.7ks to the next waypoint the Wherigo App wouldn't tell me what to do... "Umm.. Now what" I got in contact with the CO to see if it may have been a cartridge issue. Hmm.. I guess I'll go back and start the bloody thing again, so back I go. I did the two waypoints again, but this time it worked, so I'm not sure if it was a cartridge issue or a me issue. I have a feeling it may have been me not saving the cartridge after getting the updated coords. Anywhooo! We're back on track and several hours go by and I'm still plodding along and eventually I had the final coords and felt somewhat relieved that it was just about over, NOOPE! A little more walking yet, but in the end after walking roughly 18k's we finally signed the log book and got the hell out of there, I'm done!
Thank you for the crazy experience and the delightful walk around the wetlands today. I'm giving this one a FP.

I was planning a walk in the area to the new M2M lab cache and stretch out my stiff legs after a grueling mountain climb on Saturday. I rang Fangsoki for some information about the area and he mentioned that 1MinniMoo and he were going to be in the area soon for another Lab cache. 1MinniMoo mentioned that she had not done this cache so a plan was formulated for us to meet up and take the walk around to complete it.
The app worked a treat on my phone and we enjoyed catching up again as we strolled from point to point.
Finally, we arrived at the cache location to find a unique cache
Thanks for the exercise and the journey barbbowman

A spontaneous meet up with Crew153 today to do this wherigo. Fangsoki and I had started the morning collecting some of TeamARF’s new adventure labs, and when the call came through from Crew153 that he was heading this way for this cache, we decided to join him along the journey, as it is one I’ve had sitting here waiting to do for ages now.
It was a nice stroll today, with much chatting along the way. The weather was glorious, and not too many muggles - nor mosquitoes until the final GZ - around.
An interesting container at GZ in keeping with the theme, thankfully no fingers lost in the retrieval of this one.
Thanks for the cache barbbowman.

A much more fun way to get our required number of steps on the pedometer today. Now off to get some fish and chips. TFTC in such a beautiful setting.
A fanastic where i go! We enjoyed it very much! We never knew how far this track took us abd had smiles all the way thank you barbowman for this hide! briallant!
With my caching partner heading to Gympie today. I was left to myself. So what and I going to do. Decided on 9 unique types for the day. My problem was I don’t have many easy virtual to get. So Gold Coast here I come.
So my day total was, 3 Mystery , 2 Event, Wherigo, Virtual, 5 Traditional, Earthcache, Multi, Letterbox and 5 Adventure Lab. So a total of 20 caches.
But this one I help Simber15 do this one.
Cache a day to keep the doctor away, or is it to keep me sane. No it’s to keep my streak alive. TFTC *451* streak. *2741* Finds

Oh my! Finally managed to find and sign this nemesis cache. This little adventure has taken me 6 visits to complete!!!
1. Enjoyed the pleasant walk but didn’t have the equipment needed for the next stage.
2. Took the necessary equipment with me but the cartridge crashed. Had to redo the starting points but didn’t feel like it that day!
3. Came back to do the walk again and start over and realised I’d left my phone at home! Doh!
4. Attempted the walk again and missed the left turn and took the circuitous route to the starting point. Completed the next few stages and left the final for another day. Was too tired to bother.
5. This time I went straight for the written finals in the cartridge and was overcome by mosquitoes and gave up quickly. Put this on the back burner for a while.
6. Today was the day! Someone came out with me well coated in repellant and we split up. I took the cartridge and they used the written Coords in the app. Container found using the cartridge. Spot on. Loved the container. Made me giggle!
Fave for the sheer effort taken to complete what should have been a simple 1-2 hour effort

Cartridge completed after several attempts over many months for different reasons. Today I decided to make what I thought would be a quick stop at GZ to sign and collect my smiley. Unfortunately that wasn’t to be today. Stepped off the path and did a big loop trying to get close enough to start looking. Couldn’t seem to get less than 20 m despite coming in from a few angles. Felt uncomfortable being so far off the track as the area is very wet and mosquitoes didn’t appreciate my disturbing them. Gave up again! Maybe my 5th attempt in the winter will be more successful. For now I’ve had enough!
We had been out this way yesterday in the late afternoon, when the storm hit and the rain came down really heavily, so we headed home with a plan to try again today. On such a hot day, only mad dogs and Englishman would possibly go out, other perhaps, than crazy Australian geocachers. But.... we were not alone. Our entourage of mosquitoes kept us company throughout the entire journey, and encouraged us to ride as fast as we could to keep away from them.
We really enjoyed this wherigo, and all the questions were answered successfully along the way, with GPS leading us to all the correct places.
Thanks Barbowman for putting this wherigo together!
For a first attempt at creating a wherigo, it is great! I’m sure lots of work went into putting it together. We loved exploring the wetlands today and saw many birds who were enjoying water from the recent rains. Along the way, the bike path was flooded in a few places and it was quite fun riding through the puddles.
A favourite added!

What can you do with a wet Easter Sunday? Walking around wetland and collect some caches!
It all started smoothly with this one. We had three devices between us and the cartridge worked perfectly. After finishing most of the way,it was decided that Mrs ankakeca jogged back to the car and bring it to the other side. In the mean time, Mr ankakeca walked with geokids to the end, not noticing that they skipped a zone...
At GZ we couldn't find anything for ages. It turned out that the final coords given in the text and in the cartridge zone are a fair distance apart. We got there in the end, copping a zillion mozzie bites. The mozzies here do not seem to care much about bug spray...
TFTC, barbbowman and an enjoyable walk.

Today I picked barbbowman up, grabbed a coffee and then headed over here to do a walk and grab a bite. The walk itself was lovely, there were barely any mosquitoes around at all as we wandered along the path. Eventually we got close to GZ and then BOY did the mosquitoes come out. We headed over to the cache container and were swarmed. There were two little green tree frogs next to the container which were very cute. We dashed back to the path to get away from the bitey things and headed back to the car. Thanks for the cache barb!
I completed the cartridge for this a while ago, but it was getting late and I was tired, so I skipped the final collection. Back in the are today to rectify the situation! I got bitten by something on my walk - or at least I have a new hole in my leg. The non-Aussie in me is sure it was made by something highly venomous and I will die from this... Anyway, cache signed so it was all worth it! TFTC!
Collecting this whereigo has been a labour of love, having been to the Boondall wet lands a few times, all using shanks pony.
The first time I'd used an old phone and got as far as the creek. Decided to walk back to the car and continue the trek at a later date. With the phone dying had to retrace my steps to about the same place with the new phone. With the day getting on, left the final leg(s) for another day.
So today having most of the points sorted, parked at the other end and walked back to collect the next few waypoints. With the final coordinates provided worked out the easiest way to collect. Parking nearby a good stroll had me back to collect the prize. Care was taken not to be bitten. Thanks for setting up this cache barbbowman.

With two caches under our belt for the day we are now at the one we set out to do this morning. We think we have brought our bikes into where you’re not supposed to but we took the lead of a 5 year old that cycled past us and thought those signs must be wrong, this kid has it right.
We answered all the questions along the way and enjoyed our ride, that was until the muggle teens rang through with all their plans they have made for the first week of school holidays spoiling our ambience!!!
We knew as we saw the little dog leg off to the side that the CO would make us ride up it, and yep we were right! After answering all the questions, we started to head off to the final destination. A little discussion between us as we thought it might have been a park your bikes and walk through the swamp, sorry wetlands! We agreed that that couldn’t be our quest today as the CO loves her bike. Let’s head out on a different track and see where that leads us…much better.
We love the ride through here and were glad for the opportunity to ride it again, as we always say riding is heaps of fun but if there is a cache on it, it is funner.
Thanks for the great cache and we leaving a FP for cache and ride.
We came across our second wildlife today laying out in the sun. He saw us approaching and he flattened himself to the ground and thought we couldn’t see him anymore. Lucky for him we weren’t there to hurt him so he could keep on getting that great tan…

Finally I can log a find!
I started this one over a month ago, but only had time to do half as I was on foot and had to get to school pick up.
Returned a few days later by bike and quickly made it to the final way point. As I was cycling to GZ I took a call from hubby and in doing that managed to shut down the wherigo. The cartridge didn't save but I had a screen shot so off I went. I thought I found a great place for a cache but no luck there.
So I started the cartridge again as I had to ride past all the way points to get home anyway.
Today with the cartridge saved correctly I returned and once I trusted the cartridge and not just went where I went last time, the cache was quickly located. Very fitting!
Thanks barbowman, I love this area so always happy to revisit.

Joint find with **nikid1 &KerriMG**.
I was cordially invited on a 'girl's day out' so why would I refuse? LOL ...
A pleasant stroll soon had us approaching GZ where a nice quick find was made.
A bit of a look here & a poke there soon revealed what we sought.
Made our marks & replaced all as found.

I did the Wherigo for this a month or two ago but, on that occasion, I didn't have the time or the energy to make my way back to the final.
I was driving past today and decided to stop in and make the find.
The coords given in the Wherigo were about 30m out, or I wrote them down wrong, but I was able to resume the cartridge and it took me to the right spot where I made a quick find.

I was coming to this area today to drop my little family at the wiggles concert. I also knew I needed some letters for the December challenge. This one suited perfectly. I missed the info about bringing my bike so did the whole 9km? on foot. 1hr 45m with a little jogging. The app on my iPhone worked perfectly and the final is close enough for your geo-sense to kick in. Now on to find Eileen. TFTC. Thanks for the exercise.
I found this Whereigo recently with Que Sera and SharpeM. It was my first whereigo and I had a great time finding it. We decided we would tackle this one on bikes and the journey was really enjoyable. It is such a lovely spot around here. Over all we had a great experience with this cache and I will be trying some more whereigo's in the future. Thanks for hiding this cache and showing us this lovely place.
We thought we would try our first Wherigo on Saturday so Quesera organized the bikes and we set off with Bear0503 and boo_noyes and another friend,it was a beautiful day for a ride and we really enjoyed it. We finished off with a champagne lunch as a perfect end to the ride. Thanks Quesera for organizing this one and thanks Barb Bowman for another great adventure
My first wherigo yipee. I planned to meet bear0503, sharpem, boonoyes and my muggle friend. We all had the bikes and set off on our way. It was a perfect day and i know this bike track like the back of my hand (thats the next wherigo ) because my son was a great runner and he would run while i peddled .its great here cause of the shade of the trees and if you are quick enough you wont get bitten. I loved the final waypoint and the very apt cache. We then had our picnic complete with champagne to celebrate our first wherigo,. Thanks barbowman for this great wherigo. I am definitely giving it a favourite point.
Wow! My first whereigo cache
We had planned on doing a park series nearby here but I had in the back of my mind that I wanted to get the souvenir for the puzzle I solved earlier in the week and this cache caught my interest as it fit the bill! We set off as a family to do stops 1&2 but dad and the kids opted to go for lunch and let me finish alone! Thanks guys
A few waypoints later and I was starting to regret my decision to do this cache when I could be sitting in an air con restaurant right now enjoying an icy water and a feed... Once I got the the 2nd last spot the pain was subsiding and I was seeing the light at the end of the tunnel - then for the final coordinates!!! WHAT!!!!
By this stage the rest of the family had finished lunch and wanted to know where to pick me up from... Well, that was met with quite a laugh!!
At GZ, I wasn't sure what I would find - I was even wondering if these cache types have a physical log when I checked a previous log that said, 'signed and returned' so back to the search!!! I spotted something odd and soon had the cache in hand!
Favourite point here for the adventure, learning curve, and cache that gave me a giggle! TFTC

Relogging this under individual account, previously a member of Gaz'n'Kab account.
The attributes say you may need a bicycle for this geocache. And word around town is that it is recommended. This morning Fangsoki, Pprime and I had been for a kayak adventure on tidal waters. Then I paddled across a duck pond. And then two of us waded through a swampy puddle. And I am sure with the paths around Boondall wetlands, there will be walking involved. Shy of aircraft, what are we possibly missing?
Fang, Prime and I met up with Gaz'n'Kab to tackle this Wherigo. It was nice to have previous finders to help out as required and while they whinged about the hoardes of mosquitoes from their previous visits, in the middle of winter, things were relatively pleasant for us today. Vague as this log may be, I don't really want to leave spoilers for others. But it is always nice spending such time with mates and enjoying the adventures of the land.
As promised near the end there was a moment of confusion, but we're somewhat intelligent creatures and susses it out. A lesser person may have been shocked at the final location, all things considered, but I can't say I was overly surprised at such capers one bit. Not from this CO! We found the interesting geocache all in good condition - nice after the lengthy effort required to get here.
I appreciate a good Wherigo, and this is the second such for today - not something you achieve every day while geocaching. Now that we're done.. is there any other geocaches available while we're in the area? Thanks for this adventure, barbbowman

We set off today on bikes (we were warned it would be easier this way), and enjoyed the ride around the area before we made our way to a... well GZ, and began the search for the cache We initially had the wrong spot but we soon corrected ourselves and quickly had the cache in hand, and added our names to the logbook [^]

I started this one 2 weeks ago but due to issues at GZ I had to abort and contact the CO. Luckily when I returned today I did not have to repeat it form the beginning in the 30+ heat today! Today at GZ I followed the cartridge and it led me straight to the cache within about a metre. Much better than the first attempt when GPS & phone wanted to go in different directions! [:o]
Thanks for the wherigo, barbbowman!

A rare day off work - and a few hours this morning 'spare'. My plan was to enjoy a nice decent 30km Bike Ride before lunch. It rained. It stopped raining and went to 100% humidity and very hot. I forgot bug spray - so yep.... like I said, fun. [^]
Started my journey slapping mozzies, and had a wonderful trek in the light wind and rain (still a busy pathway). Moving at my speed the mozzies didn't keep up phew. Took in the sights and sounds. Lovely hour or so on the trail of things that bite, escaping the things that kept biting.
Had a moment of confusion in the last 35m or so (am only reading your note now - yep you are right). I chose to follow the cartridge as it was making more sense. That said, I was still 8m short of its GZ when I spotted a likely BB-hide. Cute. Cartridge otherwise worked without a hitch. Unlocked the code online - Happy Prime`
Thanks for placing this cache, barbbowman. Found in good condition.

there appears to be an error at the moment
at final...
if you follow the cartridge it will lead you to the cache container
if you enter the co-ords it says into your GPS it is the old GZ
I am trying to fix this ... please follow the cartridge directions to GZ

I only wanted to start this wherigo and what is? I failed already on the first stage because I am not a native speaker. I tried a really good word which I found on a plaque close to WP1 but were are still enough caches open in this area so I will come back with an offline dictionary and try my luck again!
Oh my aching..... everything.
I do love a Wherigo - and quite embarrassingly I had not yet done any of Barbbowman's offerings in the area.
I use a bit of a different beast for Wherigo - a Pocket PC (namely a Mio P550). I am happy to report I had no problems with this cartridge using it
So I set off on foot. Yes - bikes are the go in the area - but I wanted to walk. To my own peril, fate would have it. I had a bit of a fail at the first WP - but I soon sorted it and I was off. Pardon me if I get vague in my log at this point - but I refuse to write logs that are spoilers.
Even though, I had no problems with the cartridge, this one took me a long time to do. A long, strenuous time to do. Having said that, I am very glad I did it - and I am glad I picked a cooler day as well.
I had a fair old fail at the final however. I called the CO who ascertained I had an older version of the cartridge that had a slightly different final. I soon sorted where I was supposed to be and soon found me a cache - that was in good condition.

We had planned to do this cache today but looking at the weather forecast we were a bit hesitant . 100% chance of rain around 10 am. Well it was only 7am so we threw the bikes on the rack and decided to give it a go. This is when we discovered a punctured tyre . A quick tube change and we were on our way .
Arrived at the wetlands. we began making our way through the waypoints . 3 snakes, lots of toads, mozzies , a broken gear shifter and we were at GZ. Well we thought we were. Turns out we had downloaded the cartridge before it was updated .
30minutes and a few messages to the CO (sorry barb) and we had found what we set out to find .

Phew that's a fairly decent walk! Too bad we didn't have bikes! That would have been fun!
It was still fun none the less. It's the company you have with you that makes it!
My very first wherigo! I also got to gather up quite a few other caches on the way as well.
A big thanks to Totalube and Barb for this. TFTC!
I actually even found the cache before Totalube too!

In hindsight a bike would have helped, but it was a very nice walk
I had been saving this cache for November, and finally here was November and Sezzz and I decided to go for this. A very well designed Wherigo, I enjoyed walking this one, I think the first time I ever have
Luckily we managed to make it to the cache, and after slight problem with my GPSr, my phone got me to where I needed to be
Thanks, I am looking forward to a "Hand" on the next one

Out with NurseyJulie, searching for our find for the day. I had previously completed some of the waypoints for this cache. Today, we worked our way towards GZ. Oh look, I bet it's there. Sure enough, I soon had the cache in hand. Log signed and we headed back to the car. I am beginning to enjoy my walks around these wetlands TFTC
Out with Selvagirls who needed to complete this WIG . I had already done all the previous WP's and just needed an opportune time to return to sign the log. I had trouble searching for the co-ords on my phone but then I soon went into the app again and checked my photos to show where this one was. A short search and we located the container. A nice series - well done. TFTC barbbowman
Okay, this is the third attempt at this. So pleased that I was able to get this one done today. After 11km of walking and biking (and a few extra caches along the way), I finally got it. This has been by far the most problematic cache I have hunted down. I had all sorts of errors with the Whereigo system, but managed to get there. Many thanks to Orange Crew and BarbWoman who kept me on track for this one. Being as challenging as it was, it is also very satisfying to finally mark this one off. I am just glad that the 33+ temperature did not kill me....
This was a great day. I like these wherigo caches. I wish there were more. Definitely one for bikes. Tftc
We started this one about a month ago but ran out of time to continue.
Returned today with the deadly treadlys
All locations located. Log signed. Whereigo unlocked
Thanks for the adventure

So this little cache is one that I had wanted to visit for some time, however it was only recently the distance required was mentioned, by the CO, 10.8km (i believe). Also knowing the CO's penchant for riding a bike, that should have been a clue that I maybe should have bought my bike with me.
I got started on this on Tuesday, when I visited the first WP, and decided to take a walk and visit another cache along the trail. At that point it sort of appeared that I may be better returning from a different direction, however maybe I should have just kept going that day.
Today I returned and set off from a different approach and secured the remaining waypoints. Sure enough I soon had the final information and sure enough as I suspected where I would need to be heading.
A short drive later and I was back out taking a walk after a few minutes for lunch. Soon arriving near to the final, here I got quite confused with a few things, but soon enough worked things out and made a find of a quite apt cache.
So with my three walks I think it come in at around 11km. I guess I should have brought the bike [:p]

Yay my 5th wherigo cache!
I started this wherigo on Monday. I caught the train to Boondall and walked to the wetlands. I did the wherigo with the phone in one hand and the GPS in the other so I was able to get caches along the way. I didn't read logs beforehand and hadn't considered riding, so I was in for a long, but very enjoyable walk.
Once I got the final coordinates I looked up the location of the cache, and decided I would come back and pick it up another day, as I had done a lot of walking and was quite hungry and had no food with me.
As I walked down Nudgee road to the bus, I spied what looked like the ABC challenge cache, but was in fact the original container which had gone missing, but mysteriously reappeared near a ditch. It had the log book and 44 beans in it too! I was then quite pleased I hadn't walked back to the cache.
Today I went to GZ and found the cache. Haha nice! As I was signing the logs I heard and saw muggles near the track so waited until I could re-emerge without looking too suspicious. TFTC

This was goal number one for the day. I managed to complete this one fairly quickly with only a couple of distractions along the way.
I chose to use the geocycle for this one mostly. I was very good and walked to the bits I was not allowed to ride. [^] It was quite quiet along the route today. Just the occasional passing biker.
A very enjoyable cache indeed. The wherries worked well on the phone and the GPSr was only used to help find the final.
Once again it was very bouncy under the trees, but a short search of the likely spots soon found the cache.

My bike has been sorely neglected, so knowing that a bike is quite useful for this wherigo, I decided in a nice longride from home. Except that after riding from home to the wetlands, I would have to walk the first 500 metres to the start. No problem!
The walk gave me time to ponder the cache a little. Seeing the cache name and knowing the CO and her evil ways (there are 12 evil days of Christmas in the Bowman house), I took a chance on a little shortcut, but came up short. Never mind, I need the exercise.
The kilometres slipped by on the bike and I was enjoying myself. Soon enough, the view improved and I had the final coordinates in my hand. Just as I suspected! Had to laugh!
Many thanks, Barb. Here is a crooked favourite point - a predictable outcome, like a slow motion train wreck. Still got a good chuckle out of it.

Well this one turned out to be quite an adventure . We have had the local Wherigo's downloaded on the phone for some time now and a few weeks back decided to give Bite Me a go. Parked at the coords and set off for the start and were soon up and running.
After the first few WP's we realised a different mode of transport would have been far more advantageous, but considering my rotund physique on two wheels is more comedy show than effective forward motion , we decided to continue on foot.
After getting about three quarters of the way we saved what we had done and decided to come back another day to complete the rest. Today we tackled the last 2 WP's walking in from the other end and soon were looking out at the final coords and it was with a wry smile that we realised where we had to go .
Reaching the final GZ we got the unlock code for the cartridge and then started looking for the logbook to sign, after about a half hour we gave up, thinking our cache blindness was a result of oxygen deprivation from so much walking . It was only after getting back home and reading the latest logs that we saw that the CO had recently updated the cartridge and moved the final GZ.
A quick email to the CO and permission to log the find was granted. We shall return to sign the log as soon as we have the updated final coords . Thanks barbbowman for a most challenging adventure and we are now looking forward to tackling your next Wherigo, Hand .

Found during my first roadtrip to the Gold Coast and Brisbane. The original intention was to go run the Gold Coast marathon, but that was soon changed en-route - it became a 2-week 5000km geocaching roadtrip !
Day 2 in Brisbane, and it's time to discover the Boondall wetlands . Or more specifically, time to discover a wherigo in the Boondall wetlands.
Wherigos are my preferred cache type, so this was the priority for the day.
(At the beginning of last year we had 5 wherigos in Victoria, with no new ones published in the last few years. I set out to change that, and after publishing about 10 and presenting several how-to-write-wherigo workshops, we now have over 60 wherigos in the state. Hopefully wherigos in Queensland follow a similar increase in popularity and the current 14 can be boosted.)
The cartridge worked flawlessly, and it was a glorious day to be walking around hunting treasure. I was in no rush, and took almost 4 hours to cover 12km, enjoying the scenery and picking up other caches along the way. I struggled to find the sneaky final, which would have been quite disappointing after such a great long walk, but all good in the end.
Well done on your first wherigo, barbbowman, and thanks.

Finally got out to sign this cache after completing the cartridge a few weeks ago.
Our journey began taking a familiar route with the bikes and loving the views along the way. A busy little path that day with muggle workers, cyclists and walkers all out enjoying the day. There was even a crazy helicopter pilot spraying the river!
A couple of kms more and we soon reached the gz. We didn't however have any luck and the cache was confirmed missing. As the CO has been amazing with the matinence a dusk stroll today let us nab this one once and for all. Tftc. Recovered and returned.

Thankfully I had the foresight to start this Wherigo on my iphone at the beginning of our caching journey today as my chosen route of attack matched pretty well the route of this cache, although we did have to travel a bit further than originally intended but it was by no means a difficult ride, and in fact ended up with us finding a most unexpected spot with some magnificent views - I would never have know that this was here! Having some experience on another multi bike ride nearby I was not too surprised with the turn of events that revealed itself at this point and it was a pleasant journey in the fading afternoon as we cycled on to GZ. Thanks for another interesting adventure today.
1578 - A rare mid week day off work after a long weekend away, I thought I would go for a long walk down in the Wetlands to find a few of Barb's caches that I hadn't found yet. Of course this WhereIGo was the first one I tried but the last of 3 of Barb's caches to complete today. I walked for about 2.5 hours in a fairly quick fashion to complete it and many times I wished I had thrown the geobike in the geomobile. I reckon I walked almost 10 kilometres for the afternoon between the caches I found, which was a good walk in the pleasant conditions. The cartridge didn't play up at all and all of the questions had easy, obvious answers. The only trouble I had was trying to find the cache container at the end, but after a few minutes I spotted it and signed the blank new log book at 4:52pm. As the sun was going down quickly, the mozzies at the final GZ were incredible, so I was glad to sign the log and get out of there. I loved this one Barb, my first WhereIGo. Thanks for the time you have spent setting it up and for the excuse to go for a walk for a few hours to get some fresh air. Another favourite point for this one!
Found with membsec, omaster & jill_cycle on a morning cycle in the area. TFTC
We organised a biking expedition today with omaster, aerial_tennille and jillcycle. Of course it began with a walk in an area well known to us. Then on the bikes and onward to the various waypoints. Wherigo prompts came up at expected points and when eventually gained the required final data. A few diversions for other caches took up some extra time but finished off OK. Hope your ears were burning barbbowman!!!!!! By the way we certainly got bitten.

Found with membsec, aerial_tennille and jill_cycle on a nice little bike ride in the area. We planned this for the day so Aerial_tennille and jill_cycle took off from home on the two road bikes to meet us at the start location while we drove over with the 3 mountain bikes. Once we had setup and found the first waypoint and answered questions we were on our way on the bikes. after a decent ride we finally ahd the solutions for the final and oh dear all the way there. Oh well. So off we chuffed to do another location and then on to the final for this while picking up some other caches and trying for some archived ones on the way. Not much success had with the later. Anyway TFTC it was a good outing had by all.
Well, I'm glad I left this for today and didn't attempt it in the rain on Sunday. the last waypoint had me confused for a bit until I figured out what I needed to do. I kind of wish I hadn't already done the other caches along here. This is my 1200th cache (I know, it's not a REAL milestone) and also the last cache I need for the CO's "ABC Challenge". TFTC
The final piece of my "ABC challenge" is... in progress.
I could see the weather closing in as I drove down the highway and kept thinking to myself "It's just rain, it can't hurt me." Completely dismissing the fact that the old S2 doesn't react well to having water on the screen (which would be inevitable). Waypoint one was sorted with minimal fuss and only light sprinkling rain, but on my way to the second waypoint the rain significantly increased. I was thankful for the cover at waypoint 2 but decided to "Pause my game" which I'm glad I worked out how to do early on, after I saw how far it was to the next waypoint. I will be back when the weather permits.

I have a play day scheduled with the CO today, but had an hour or so spare, so figured I grab this one on the way I had my bike with me, but that isn't allowed on this section of the Wetlands so I took off on foot. A pleasant easy walk, and as I arrived at the start, the pre-loaded Wherigo cartridge kicked in and gave me the next set of numbers. Okay then...
Everything went very smoothly from then on, and I was glad I had brought the bike [^] The kms dashed away under the wheels very nicely! I had a bit of a hiccup at one WP, but some messages to the CO had that sorted, and I was soon heading to GZ. I decided to take the long way around to sort out another puzzle, and got a little distracted by a fellow watching some birds [^] However, the final location was eventually reached, and the cache was a pretty quick find [^] A neatly set up Wherigo indeed. A favourite point from me. TFTC, barbbowman.

Fate prevented me from trying to be FTF when this was first published, so today was my day to have a crack at it. Quite enjoy a Wherigo, so it was exciting to see one published on the Northside. Made my way to the first waypoint, and kicked the app into life..... Ok, that's a decent distance, time to grab the bike off the car! Cartridge flowed smoothly, made all the waypoints without drama. Good to see the tracks clear of debris after the recent storms, still a little water lying around but no mossies here today, thank goodness!! GZ found, and after a short search container was in hand. Just about at head height for me, nicely done! Thanks for a good Wherigo experience Barb, good exercise too!!
Like BC I walked this one. I tried insect repellent, but it appeared to be sauce for the myriad of creatures that came to BITE ME. Still I managed to find a cache surrounded by butterflies and earned a big smile. TFTC
Thoroughly enjoyed some "Mummy Time" while the kids were at school today cycling around the area. I have to admit the prospect of tackling a Wherigo seemed a little daunting at first as it was a bit of an unknown quantity, but proved to be one of the most enjoyable caching experiences I've had. The cuppa afterwards with the lovely CO was an added bonus as well [^] Thanks so much Barb for placing this Wherigo close to home, it was a great morning out. A favourite point from me
