Another nice easy cache. Had to avoid the muggles with Brianna.92. Thanks. Time to head home. Will be back soon to try finish this great series. Thanks
X is for Xcellent series to take you all over town. We thought we'd only find a few....ended up finding them all. TFTC BallaratGeocachers.
We found ourselves having come back to Ballarat after the Surf Coast Mega Event to retrieve something we had left behind the previous week. As we also needed to find a cache in Victoria which started with 'X', there was no doubt we would be stopping here to find the cache.
After we had completed the necessary task, we returned to our car which unfortunately wouldn't start ... looks like we will be in Ballarat for a few more nights yet!
Thank you BallaratGeocachers for having placed the cache and maintaining it for everyone to enjoy.

Find $1070 for me. I'd failed here on my previous visit, then the cache went missing shortly after. This was the last letter in the First Name Series that I needed so I was happy to notice that a replacement cache had been placed a couple of weeks ago. I also noticed that a replacement hint had been published which led to a quick find here today. I decided to spread this series out over several visits (i.e. months since I'm from Bendigo), and as it turned out the last two caches I needed to complete the series were O and X, so XOXOX for this cache and the series BallaratGeocachers!
In Ballarat to attend 50 50 50 50 50 GUESS WHO TURNS 50!!! and decided to go get some caches during the day.
Managed to find this one after a drive around the area, then realised we had to go for a walk to actually get it.
Anyway signed the log and we were off to the next one.

Noticed the log from BallaratGeocachers that this cache had been replaced so it was good to come back here after a previous DNF. Tftc in what is certainly a muggle prone area. Care will be reqd on each return of the cache.
Looked everywhere but no luck. Found little nooks where it could have been hidden but were empty now.
*sigh* We had an X, we are so close to getting our alphabet challenge conditions met... Yet X still alludes us... Looked everywhere along that stretch, but we couldn't find the cache...

A trip to Ballarat, to try and tidy up a few errant caches to the east, turned out to be a freezing and somewhat frustrating day.
We looked high, we looked low, we looked in, we looked out, but today there was no way we could work this one out!
Thanks anyway to BallaratGeocachers for bringing us to this location.

In Ballarat for the day with GeoSon #1. Came for the Symbol series, stayed for the Name series .
I'm sorry to say, but Xanthe tend to be quite withdrawn, and does not get involved in group work. Hopefully her attitude will improve next term.
Thanks heaps, BallaratGeocachers.

A friend who used to live in North Ringwood has been working in the area for the last year or two. She and her partner have decided to rent a place, so my younger son and I drove up from Melbourne for their house-warming party. We were going to be a little bit early, so I pulled over on the side of the road and said I was going to get a cache. My son rolled his eyes and pulled out his phone (to keep reading his e-book!). I opened the geocaching app on my phone, and realised that I had stopped the car less than 100m from GZ! I told my son that I had just *known* that there was a cache nearby - it had called to me I grabbed a pen and walked back down the hill a little. But I had no luck finding the cache The coords had me in the middle of a grassy area, so I looked in all the likely places within a 10m radius, concentrating on those I could reach (or not) from the path. No luck.
So I looked to see if there were any other caches nearby, and there was one more between there and the party...

Our Queen's Birthday challenge with Harrowang was to complete the First Name Series and find a record number of caches for the day. We found Una, our 20th cache by 2:42pm, so no looks like we'll achieve our goals! SL TFTC
A tricky letter, but the cache was a quick find with Markndee. SL at 2.37pm #3735 TFTC
Found by a+hsculley a bit of a peek and a poke and found it and placed an item for swaps
After some searching geohubby had this one in hand! Clever little one that had us sraying off the footpath . Very glad I have gloves on tonight! Cold and wet! TFTC!!
3:02:00 PM. Nice and quiet here today. A fair stretch to try and reach the cache. Log signed. Thanks BallaratGeocachers for placing this cache.
I was going so well with this series this afternoon with a string of quick finds, then I hit this one. For whatever reason I couldn't spot it. My search was interrupted several times with muggles of all ages walking by taking advantage of the perfect weather to be outdoors. In the end I gave up after about 20 minutes as I was uncomfortable loitering on my own in this area any longer. Thanks for the hunt so far BallaratGeocachers!
Out again on the push bike. Was a bit damp, but that meant the muggles left me alone.
Quick find for me here.
This was find 3 of 7 finds for today, being found at 8:56:00 AM.
Thanks BallaratGeocachers for placing this cache and bringing me here.

Found with emthegem. Pays to read previous clues. Had to stretch from the path to grab this one. Tftc.
Grabbing a few quick caches early this morning, i thought this one was a little tricky but Nugget found it in no time. TFTC
A nice easy walk with the family on this rather nice morning. We made 4 easy finds which made the walk even better as the kids seem to be getting a worse case of geoadiction than their parents at the moment. Not that I am complaining of course
Thanks for the hides BallaratGeocachers.
Thanks for the hides BallaratGeocachers.
Have to be quick and very careful with a lot of muggle activity as it is a school morning

Staying in Ballarat tonight, I couldn't sit still with so many possible smileys to add to my collection.
After checking the map and seeing that this series was on the same side of town as I was staying. a rough plan of attack was made and I was off. this even added a couple of "ring-ins" that were in the way that I grabbed too.
The arvo/night was filled with a little muggle drama at a couple of locations and even a check up from the Official muggles in Blue, who thankfully knew about geocaching, phew!
All caches were found quite quick with great cords and a couple needing a little geo common sense.

Took a little bit of searching until I saw some conveniently placed bark ... Thanks !
We drove across from Cranbourne to accompany some friends down the Ballarat drain system to get some caches there, so while we were early, we did some of the First Name series while here.
A nice easy find, before too many people were up and about.

After having earmarked today a caching day with Poppet_93, we never expected the forecast of 40 degrees!!! We decided to set off early and hopefully beat the heat.
We had to leave the path to retrieve this one!
Our 11th cache for the day. The temperature has just hit 35 degrees. We are starting to melt but determined to push on.

I have never heard of this name...I really like rare names. Thanks BallaratGeocachers.
Enjoying an evening of caching in Ballarat with family trying to turn some of the local trads into smilies, including slowly working our way through the Name series, picking up 6 more tonight.
Thanks BallaratGeocachers for the hide.
Thanks BallaratGeocachers for the hide.
Our 4th day camped at Creswick, and today we decided to go to Ballarat to do a few trails.
This was our second series for the day, and we hoped to get them all, but it was not to be.
We enjoyed the variety of hides, and did them in no particular order, as we roamed the streets.
The letter A was our 5th search, and we spent about half an hour looking with no luck.
After completing the rest of the series, we went back to A for another try.
Even after PAF, and a good description of where to look, we had to settle for a DNF.
A good series, which took us a few enjoyable hours to complete.
Many thanks for placing this series of caches, BallaratGeocachers, for us and others to find.

Out and about exploring the area, wandering along the tracks by foot and switching to the car for those on the other side of the main road.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Found with Cherad, geokids and muggle pa on a chilly afternoon of caching. Thanks for the cache, we were unaware of this walking track and with no reason to come here otherwise; we wouldn't have known.
Found today while out with Mi5sie trying to earn a few smiles, (although a little delayed in logging) A lovely day (although wind is a little chilly) to spend time with friends while enjoying a lovely walk too, didn't realise this walking track was here, such a lovely area. Geoson had a fantastic time exploring . Glad to finally be able to add smiles to a few of this series. TFTC
Nice easy find when the cache is there!! Thanks for doing the maintenance and keeping these caches going!
Yay! I've been waiting for this one to come back!! I finally have all the letters of the alphabet!! Tftc

Staying a few days in Ballarat on our tour of Australia.
Boy it is very cold here this week. Maximum of 10degrees. From Perth WA that is VERRRRYYYYY COLD. [8)]
We started our morning in the CBD then moved back towards our caravan park. Bit of a mixed bag out and about today but being soooo cold we didn't really stick around to do too much tourist stuff. We were frightened of being frozen to the paving.

Up in Ballarat to visit friends and had a short window of time to be able to grab a few caches around here as well. A small section of the First name series was the closest to where I was and having completed the numbers series earlier in the year I thought I'd give them a go. A bit of traffic made this a bit tricky to grab but finally got some clear space to reach in for the find. Thanks for the cache Shamus.
Just found out about geocache, first trip out, this is great and a good way to get out of the house. Take a tall person to get this one
