A bit of long grass was going to scare my wife. She had become desensitized to anything that could be lurking underneath. We will probably stay that way until something bad happens, knock on wood.Something bad almost did happen and it wasnt the animal kind. It was a log that was obscured in the long grass that she almost tripped over and went arse up. tftc
Today while attending the event at Nanango we decided to target large size caches. This was a quick find at GZ. The container lid has been split but the cache did not appear to have any water damage. TFTC
Out doing a loop ride north from Nanango to round up a few caches. Bit over 40 km with 21 caches along the way. I did do a few km along the highway along the way. However there is a nice wide edge to the highway and most vehicles gave me a wide berth. Now that is big.
Another nice big cache. Contents were nice and dry inside the big plastic bag. Lots of colourful swaps here.
Thank you.
Thank you.
A very last minute decision sees me driving a couple of hours north to spend the day in Nanango…
A great day driving the country roads collecting a variety of caches…
Hard to miss this one…. Making it a nice quick find… tftc…

Quick find while camped up at the Broadwater Reserve. Gotta love a big bucket cache with lots of SWAG. A lovely afternoon to be out finding some caches. TFTC
This was day one of heading out to QOGM at Charleville from Hervey Bay. I needed to drop one little turmoil to a horse riding camp outside Gympie. Then had to drive direct to Toowoomba where Chamad was waiting for me for the next leg of our trip.
I need large caches for a challenge cache so I squeezed in this stop. Shhh Don't tell Chamad.

On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird (aka Mrs Geo, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird, Angry Bird & occasionally even Love Bird). It’s a great day for caching.

Muggle65 and I are after select caches today to help with a challenge. We are covering many miles and have bitten off more than we can chew. The scenery was beautiful and this is the first time I have been out here and everything is green. We really enjoyed our day out here. Thank you for the fun
Up early this morning & off to find the FTF unleashed by Team JLBL & like all those preceding us ?????? no luck finding this one!!! But we aren’t claiming an DNF, just accepting partial frustration.
?????? & I looked for what seemed forever unmolested by muggles at 8:30am in the morning.
So leaving that location we had more success down the road at the challenge caches ?????? and then off to Tiaro & onward to our main hunting ground in the Kilkivan area.
Starting our day before the sun came up, we finished it a couple of hours prior to the sun coming up the next day, Simply because a FTF opportunity came up just after we arrived home & had started to relax. So at Midnight we set off for a bicycle ride along the gateway to finally claim a FTF for the day?? or was that for tomorrow???
Don’t care!!! Going home to sleep ?? sleep ?? ?? ??.
This one was a bit of a surprise. Heading homeward this was found in the dark on a busy dirt road & a LARGE???????? that alone scores a fav point

A lovely caching run this morning around the country roads in this beautiful area. It was very quiet along this road today. We spotted the VERY big container on approach. All good with the cache log signed and replaced as found. Thanks Youngoldfella for placing these caches for us to find.
Driving home from Rainbow Beach and picking up a few caches along the way. Always great to grab some large ones so put this one on the list. Easily spotted on approach and was great to find a well stocked container. Log in good condition, added our name and replaced as found. Tftc youngoldfella
Wow that was a little unexpected.
I don't generally take much notice of the sizes of caches, noting sometimes when it's an 'other', although it is nice to come across a large size one on occasion.
Lotta swag too.
And an unusual d/t combination that i have only found eighteen of.
And considering this makes for find number 3246, that's a small percentage.
Thanks yof for hiding this big cache out on this country dirt road.

Well I am glad that everyone has found this cache, as if someone misses this one, they need to head on off to Specsavers. Certainly the largest of the large cache. It is fun coming across caches this size as there aren't often places to put them. Thanks for the fun. No. 32 ticked off the list. TFTC.
Completing a multitude of backlogs from a Bromance trip in August 21. Apologies for the late log. This was a bromance run in between COVID lockdowns, and somehow I didn't get to logging these finds. I was with Seffnjarah and a full team of JeznDez in the new jalopy they had recently purchased. Thanks ot the CO's for the great caches we picked up. Caching roadtrips with friends are the BEST!
Road trips for The Bromance have been few and far between since Covid-19 raised its ugly head so, with the recent travel restrictions now eased, Seffnjarah, Swellerfungus and a full complement of JezNDez headed off to subject JezNDez's new acquisition Max to the rigours of its first The Bromance geocaching weekend.
Our trip covered the Nanango, Goomeri and Kilkivan areas, and although we had visited this area back in May, we still had plenty of caches left to find up this way, including this one.
We had enjoyed our drive along the back roads in this area last time so we made sure to head back here on this visit. Another successful find here with The Bromance team stamp added to the logbook . Also dropped off some trinkets we had picked up on our last trip to the area. TFTC

TFTC. We are in Nanago for a few days before heading to Maryborough on Friday. We arrived just after lunch and set up camp at the showgrounds. We then settled on a direction to head to find as many caches as possible in the couple of hours before it got dark. A great couple of hours with 21 finds and only 1 DNF. Despite the rain the dirt roads were in good condition. High grass, so glad we were playing today and not in the height of summer. Thanks YOF for the adventure.

Day 8 - Homeward Bound
Aquilus1, Tankengine and I drove from Bundaberg to Toowoomba today.
More counties were on the agenda to pick up with a couple of tourist spots as well. We met some more awesome people, ate some amazing foods and found a few good caches.
One highlight was that we discovered that the tree felling along some of the highway is being done for safety reasons. Statistically drivers die within the first 9m of coming off the road. So they remove the trees and you should slow down when you hit the dirt and hopefully wake up when you get to bumpy ground. You won’t stop in time to hit a tree, but the impact should lessen.
This cache: Nice big cache and straightforward to get. Followed the Cacher trail in. Tftc youngoldfella!!!

Trip log: Day 8 of the 10 day Easter Queensland Trip with dty73 and Tankengine. Having spent a few nights in Bundaberg under a welcomed sunny blue sky, a sure contrast to the wet days of the Mega, it was time to make our way southish. A selection of counties along the way with some sideways detours to find the ones we could get. Lots of bottle trees, prickly pear and a range of terrain but a lush green and scenic drive to Toowoomba.

From north Brisbane, to Esk, to Lake Cressbrook, Crows Nest, Haden, Cooyah, Yarramann, Nanango, Murgon and Boat Mountain, And return!!! No rest for the wicked. 500 kms+ in a day, with good weather, good company and good caches. Bliss!
I was looking for a couple of caches - larges ones, popular ones, old ones, high ones.

After a morning spent collecting puzzles and views further south, OBC and I headed north with a specific old mountain in mind, and a few other caches along the way there and back, mostly large ones like here. This was almost our last find for the day with the Dayboro Mega planned for tomorrow.
Thanks youngoldfella for entertaining me at this location.

Had a fab adventure with Ms Maddy today and over the last few days in her efforts to reach a special milestone at the mega. Much appreciated was the hospitality of YOF and his lovely wife at the end of the day. Out this way we found some very durable caches, a small fluffy animal, some swans, cows, dogs, awesome views and rolling fields, surprisingly a lot of cars heading out on their own adventures, the best bakeries in the country ofcourse and a whole lot of laughter. I am not sure how many we picked up but it was over 50. I really appreciated the work put into the large number of caches at Nanango. I am sorry about the generic logs. and a huge Tftc
The marathon caching run continues and lucky to have Miss Direction’s company for this adventure. There were new places to explore and took pics of black swans and cattle, startled a small furry critter at a cache, ran to some, stumbled to others, drank coffee, peered under and over and around things, scored a few itchy bites, and replaced a couple of missing hides. A fab day out Apols for the generic logs as a few to log tonight.

Out and about on a day of caching adventures, seeking Hidden Creatures and getting a few smilies . After a very early and foggy start to the day we arrived in Nanango for a quick stop to stretch the legs and acquire some sustenance for the day ahead. We then travelled up hills, down dales and all over the local country lanes bouncing over pot holes and swimming through a few boggy patches.
We scrambled through long grass, poked our hands into all manner of hidey holes and found all the caches in good order, where they were supposed to be. Logs were signed and everything was returned as found. Thanks youngoldfella for a most enjoyable day and for bringing us to a new place to explore. TNLNSL TFTC .

Today's caches have mostly come to us courtesy of youngoldfella. We decided to go as far as Nanango and cache along the way. Each of the found logs had our name added before we moved on and each was replaced as it had been found. Many thanks go to youngoldfella for adding to our caching experience by placing so many caches around the Nanango district.
After a bike ride over Mt Stanley, I decided to take a detour on the drive home to find some caches to help get me to an upcoming milestone. I continued north and found some caches on the road over to Nanango then began the long drive home. Thanks for placing these
Couldn't miss a cache of this size just a quick stop to swap a TB. Cache was a little damp inside but still in good condition. Thanks for the cache
Woah Nelly, when you say large, you mean large. Felt this cache needed a tb so dropped one! Friendly farmer stopped to check if we were ok, of course we said we were just sorting out the geokids... they are used to being our best diversionary tactic. Tnsl tftc youngoldfella xo

We will be leaving very soon to attend the Red Centre Experience Event being held in Alice Springs and have decided we would try to make that event a milestone ... the only problem is we are a few hundred caches short This was the perfect excuse for a quick road trip through Nanango/Murgon/Kingaroy The weather was a little rainy, but surprisingly we remained relatively dry during the day with the worst of the rain occurring while we camped overnight [^]

Travelling around Australia and now super excited to be finally starting our trek to the Easter Geocaching Event at Alice Springs.
Spoilt for choice it was difficult to decide on where to cache today. We decided on a small loop before lunch then a longer list for the afternoon.
We were impressed with the quality of the cache locations and containers here in Nanango. Very happy with our total of 42 finds with only 2 DNF's add to that 1 cache that muggles were hanging around even though we tried twice today. Think we will retry that on Monday when schools in.

So I set out on a mini road trip to explore my new surrounds and hopefully pick a few caches along the way. Thanks for bringing me here
Today was a combination of both domestic duties and geocaching. After moving into the caravan park and saying gidday to the Gullivers it was time to wash clothes, the floor, do some cooking etc. Then out we headed to do some geocaching. We were out today to clean up some caches that we had missed while in town for the event TFTC
Yesterday when I finished work Captain Terror and I jumped in the Subaru and headed north so we could set up the tent at night and wake up this morning in Nanango. This way we could relax a bit more, get a sleep in and then head down to the event.
We woke up at about 4:30am and after an hour of trying to go back to sleep we decided to get up, find some breakfast and grab a few geocaches. We had an amazing breakfast at the bakery that donated bread to the event, then headed out for this cache.
We pulled up and Captain Terror found the impressive container. I wondered if I could fit into the swaps bag... nope. With our names in the logbook it was time to replace the container and head off for the next find. Thanks for the cache youngoldfella.

Last night Net88 and I drove up to Nanango to begin our long weekend for Nanango's First Event. Arriving at night, then putting up the tent meant an exceedingly early night by our standards. Then, when the sun came up and it was bright in the tent at around 04:30 we had no choice but to get up and begin the day. With a few hours between breakfast and the event starting, we chose to go geocaching, of course. So many to find so we targeted by size, prioritising Large containers, then any regulars in between - which made for a most enjoyable and productive morning.
This was first up, being the closest Large container to the campgrounds and a very decent Difficulty/Terrain combination. Even if the co-ordinates would make an OCD sufferer cringe. As we rolled in, I recognised the area from another hunt the two of us were on with Xusia back in October last year. Not much time for that though as the Subaru begins to munch up the dirt road. One of these days Net might let me rally it (inevitably into a tree).
I parked us good and close to make the find, which was done pretty quickly. And yeah, it is definitely a large! I set about signing the logbook, but Net who maybe wasn't fully awake yet was interested in trying to get into the baggie and make friends with the toys therein. It's like having a small child sometimes Thanks for this excellent geocache, youngoldfella

Saturday. Slow Puncture took off early to fuel up Blue Thunder for our excellent day out at Youngoldfella's "Nanango's First Event" event. We had a hassle-free drive from Burpengary to Nanango, particularly enjoying the part of the trip from Blackbutt onwards, as we had not been past there in a long time.
Please pardon our generic log, but this is the only way we will ever get them recorded This cache, like all of the ones one our trip, was found in good order, and with lots of recent logs from cachers well known to us!
This was the 26th of 36 caches found on this trip.

What a super cache! Loved it! And that wasn't the only thing I loved about this one. What a great name for the cache and what an unusual street name. Did the school come first or the name of the street? An interesting question. However, very appropriate! Thanks for the enjoyment of this one youngoldfella.
