We turned off the highway and headed down the dirt road like our lives depended on it. They didnt but who wants to ruin a good story? Its always good when you seen an item from the road that needs to be investigated. Its even worse when it doesnt contain a hide but this one did. tftc
We are camped at Bjelke Peterson Dam near Murgon for a week. Today we did a loop via Nanango, Kingaroy , Murgon and back to base camp.Found all caches to be in great condition.Beautiful day to be out for a drive and cacheTFTC.
Small detour, quick find. Cache full of water which has been tipped out, but log too wet to sign. Photo evidence if required. TFTC
Found on the last day of the year. Log a little damp with water inside to outer container. Water removed and dried the inside of the baggy, should be all good for the next finder. TFTC
Our last day of caching, home tomorrow, planning our next breakout. An overcast day with interminent sunny patches. Most of the caches were damp, and we were going to replace, however there is another rain storm due to pass through in the bnext couple of days. Some of the containers are missing the rubber seal, letting water/condensation into the container. Drained containers and aired logs for about 10 min.

Always happy when we capture a lonely cache that’s been left in the wild, unfound for 365 days or more. Found whilst on a very non direct route to QOGM - Charleville 2022. On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird (aka Mrs Geo, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird, Angry Bird & occasionally even Love Bird). It’s a great day for caching.

Completing a multitude of backlogs from a Bromance trip in August 21. Apologies for the late log. This was a bromance run in between COVID lockdowns, and somehow I didn't get to logging these finds. I was with Seffnjarah and a full team of JeznDez in the new jalopy they had recently purchased. Thanks ot the CO's for the great caches we picked up. Caching roadtrips with friends are the BEST!
Road trips for The Bromance have been few and far between since Covid-19 raised its ugly head so, with the recent travel restrictions now eased, Seffnjarah, Swellerfungus and a full complement of JezNDez headed off to subject JezNDez's new acquisition Max to the rigours of its first The Bromance geocaching weekend.
Our trip covered the Nanango, Goomeri and Kilkivan areas, and although we had visited this area back in May, we still had plenty of caches left to find up this way, including this one.
We were now headed towards our accommodation for the night in Goomeri so stopped as we passed by. Logbook stamped with The Bromance team stamp. TFTC

Logbook and bag wet . We took it out, dried contents like swaps and put a new logsheet in a plastic bag inside.

We are having a few days in Goomeri picking up some caches and this is one we found. We enjoyed driving around the lovely country roads. The damp log was signed and returned as found. Thanks for the cache youngoldfella.
Heading up to Kilkivan to attend the annual event, which we've become quite find of over the last few years.
Instead of taking the boring highway route, we're heading out through Nanango and stopping here and there to make some finds along the way of ones we've missed previously or that have been published since our last visit.

Log for Barkers Creek Flood Plain signed at 11:40 and cache returned as found. Thanks for the smilie and bringing us here **youngoldfella**. This log is trackable, mention where you saw it.

While staying in the Barambah Bush Caravan Park we headed off to try for a few more smilies nearby.
Our main aim was the ‘Walk With The Dinosaurs’ series near Kingaroy but we grabbed any we could find while passing by.
So many creeks crossing the road every couple of kilometres it seems...how good would it be if they were all flowing
Many thanks for the hide youngoldfella

Had a fab adventure with Ms Maddy today and over the last few days in her efforts to reach a special milestone at the mega. Much appreciated was the hospitality of YOF and his lovely wife at the end of the day. Out this way we found some very durable caches, a small fluffy animal, some swans, cows, dogs, awesome views and rolling fields, surprisingly a lot of cars heading out on their own adventures, the best bakeries in the country ofcourse and a whole lot of laughter. I am not sure how many we picked up but it was over 50. I really appreciated the work put into the large number of caches at Nanango. I am sorry about the generic logs. and a huge Tftc
The marathon caching run continues and lucky to have Miss Direction’s company for this adventure. There were new places to explore and took pics of black swans and cattle, startled a small furry critter at a cache, ran to some, stumbled to others, drank coffee, peered under and over and around things, scored a few itchy bites, and replaced a couple of missing hides. A fab day out Apols for the generic logs as a few to log tonight.

I hitched a ride with caro from Jess & Caro today and we went north to find a bunch of caches. They were great and I had fun. Thanks!
This was our second weekend out in Nanango travelling the highways and byways searching for Hidden Creatures, finding caches and logging smileys . We dodged truckies and trailers , mud puddles and muggles and clambered over all manner of obstacles in search of the final prizes, all the while trying to keep dry in the drizzle. Thanks to all the CO’s for their efforts in making this a most enjoyable trip. TNLN TFTC .
Bit soft under foot here. Picking our dirt roads wisely today after the rain, although puddly in parts this one was in good condition as was the cache. Thanks for another youngoldfella xo
Agree with the last finder. Nice to have no muggles: but not so nice when a red stamp that was in the cache had leaked all over the contents. Cleaned up everything but our hands. The red hands are a giveaway. Kutgw
Its great caching when you don't have to be looking out for muggles all the time. TFTC youngoldfella

Found on a nice drive in the district while camping with X&S at a favourite campsite of ours.
We are heading toward a milestone event, so we decided to set ourselves a challenge to achieve a few milestones all at once. To manage this however, we have found ourselves on a roadtrip which would provide us with an abundance of caches ... perfect for our requirements.
Fortunately, all the caches we found today seemed to be pretty straight forward and we managed to add our name to the log book without any difficulty.
Thank you youngoldfella for having placed the series and maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

This was the second day of caching in Nanango for Captain Terror and I. We had come up for Nanango's first event and this morning we were out caching with Bulldozer72. This was the twenty-fourth cache for the day for me.
Captain Terror found the container without any hassle. The container was a little wet but we dried it out pretty well before replacing it as found. Thanks for the cache youngoldfella.

Sometime between late yesterday afternoon and this morning, Net88 and I decided to have the morning out with bulldozer72 grabbing whichever geocaches took our fancy on a circuit drive from where we were all camped in Nanango to Kingaroy, onto Murgon, then back to Nanango. Along the way I grabbed twenty finds, we visited a bunch of interesting locations, had a tasty picnic lunch at Bjelke-Petersen Dam and had a few laughs. What more could you want?
I am sure this place would look great during heavy rain - if you ignore the flooded roads and properties. Maybe just the dam would look great in heavy rain. Let's go with that.
Upon reading the description of this one I immediately suspected a typo in the dimensions, but once the container had been spotted, I could see it was not. Just a unique container among ammo boxes and 90mm PVC today. Inside sadly was a bit wet, but it hadn't had the lid put back right at some point. A short time in the sun and a bit of love had it all sorted out though. A nice detour off the Burnett Highway down a road with a comparatively long name. Thanks for this geocache, youngoldfella

A great day of caching with beautiful weather and glorious scenery. We managed to meet up with the splendid Sss - Stacevel, *SuzySquirrel* and Spinna76 and our joint caching activity added to our pleasure of the day. We got a bit sidetracked at a winery near the dam when an very necessary stop was made "to spend a penny" and resulted in wine tasting and leaving with a box under our arm. Nice to be able to make these sorts of stops as well as geocaching. We found this cache after a short search - nice one. Thanks to youngoldfella for its placement and adding to our enjoyment of this location.
Out and about with one half of The Drovers from the South Burnett to Gympie areas for a couple of days caching. We found a variety of caches and containers along the way and plenty of different hides to keep us on our toes along the way and this was one of them.

Nice quiet country roads - just right for caching. Why are there so many going past right now? Good old "quick, pretend to take a photo" time again. When we did take a breath, GERR! - it wasn't at head height but on the ground, so we signed the log, and placed it at about head height in the GERR. Found at 12.15 pm on 30th August 2015. TFTC.
Hi there youngoldfella. We found your cache "Barkers Creek Flood Plain" at 11:42:00 AM today. This cache makes our find count 11276.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip around the area today. We started the day off by nominating a cache some distance away from our caravan park and then took a route mainly determined by the next closest cache according to our GPS.
We love youngoldfella caches because the majority are bigger than a mint tin or 200ml Sistema, and are usually "kid friendly".
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
Cache Condition: The container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Spending a few days up in the Kingaroy and Nanango districts and places closeby from my place in Brisbane. Due to the number of caches found, I have decided to do a generic log. To all the CO's, a big thank you for bringing us to your area and the many varied caches we found. Thank you for bringing us along the country road. TFTC
Having another annual caching trip to Nanango and Kingaroy with Richmond Lad. Last year we thought we had found most of them but some wonderful COs keep putting out more to entice us back to this lovely region of Queensland. We have driven along quiet , gum tree lined country roads, spotted some peaceful waterways and are becoming experts at stumps!!! Thank you to all the COs who have caches in this area - you are all doing a wonderful job creating, placing and maintaining your hides.
Quick find, TFTC
Had a marvellous day out caching today whilst our new solar panels were put on the van roof. We followed a cache trail all the way to Murgon. Had great fish and chips for lunch from the "Snack Shack", sat in the park across the road to eat. Then we drove over to Cherbourg to have a look at the "Ration Shed" Museum. From there back to Nanango to collect the finished van. We wouldn't have seen any of these places if it hadn't been for geocaching. So we thank you heaps for the caches and fun

I found myself wondering what the flood plain would have looked like last week in the heavy rain as I grabbed the ca he and wrestled mightily with the lid. No sign of water through here, though. Just cows. Lots of white cows. TFTC, youngoldfella. =^.^=
One of the few gravel roads without corrugations. Yay!! Cache found safe and well. Thanks youngoldfella.
Myself, Sweet and Midnight had a stall at the Kingaroy Show over the weekend. After packing up at 1330 on Sunday, we had some time while heading home to find some caches.
Having met some of the scouts at the show, I felt it only proper to find a couple of their caches before heading out of town.
An easy find, good to have a cache off the hwy. Midnight was supposed to help me find the cache, instead he was off chasing phantom smells.

This cache was found at 12:25 on 19 April 2015 and is #1227 for my ever growing geo:map.
It was also part of a Geocaching bush adventure that I shared with Fairy Mother today.
When deciding where to go hunting, it is always a struggle trying to find somewhere that one has not been... Well, upon looking at the map it was decided that a place once visited, was calling out for our return. That area being the now heavily cached-up and beloved Nanango.
Thank you for the cache youngoldfella!
