We drove down the dirt road looking for another view. We could see water but no one on it having any fun. It must be good to have a house out here.We were happy to be brought to a spot we would have otherwise missed. tftc
While staying in Nanango for a few days with my geodog Scruffy , We decided to look for a few caches in the outlying areas ...All Good .. TFTC ..
11:48:00 AM. Out for a drive and GPS had us turning down here. A quick find and log signed. A couple of nice homes out here with great views. Thanks for the cache youngoldfella
While staying at Murgon we ventured out to the BD Dam and picked up a few caches, tftc YOF
Our last day of caching, home tomorrow, planning our next breakout. An overcast day with interminent sunny patches. Most of the caches were damp, and we were going to replace, however there is another rain storm due to pass through in the bnext couple of days. Some of the containers are missing the rubber seal, letting water/condensation into the container. Drained containers and aired logs for about 10 min.

Completing a multitude of backlogs from a Bromance trip in August 21. Apologies for the late log. This was a bromance run in between COVID lockdowns, and somehow I didn't get to logging these finds. I was with Seffnjarah and a full team of JeznDez in the new jalopy they had recently purchased. Thanks ot the CO's for the great caches we picked up. Caching roadtrips with friends are the BEST!
Road trips for The Bromance have been few and far between since Covid-19 raised its ugly head so, with the recent travel restrictions now eased, Seffnjarah, Swellerfungus and a full complement of JezNDez headed off to subject JezNDez's new acquisition Max to the rigours of its first The Bromance geocaching weekend.
Our trip covered the Nanango, Goomeri and Kilkivan areas, and although we had visited this area back in May, we still had plenty of caches left to find up this way, including this one.
We were now headed towards our accommodation for the night in Goomeri so stopped as we passed by. Logbook stamped with The Bromance team stamp. TFTC

Out and about caching north of Kingaroy, where I was staying for 9 days, doing a house-sit. Travelling around the countryside stopping here and there to find various caches in different locations. Logs signed and cache placed back where found. TFTC
Doing the loop drive of Wondai, Murgon, Goomeri and BP Dam, while staying in Kingaroy, and collecting a variety of caches along the way as well as an AL. Many thanks to the COs for placing and maintaining these caches for our enjoyment as well as showing us around your region.
Another view indeed - our first visit to the dam named after the infamous premier of our childhood. Found ourselves across from a driveway but luckily no muggles in sight. Glimpse of water in the distance as we found the cache under some sticks.
Bit damp inside this pipe but not as wet as the last one.

Chillaxing in the bush for a few days after a week and a half of beach and social activity. This morning I drove into Murgon for ️ and a couple of things. Then beadled around collecting caches

Heading up to Kilkivan to attend the annual event, which we've become quite find of over the last few years.
Instead of taking the boring highway route, we're heading out through Nanango and stopping here and there to make some finds along the way of ones we've missed previously or that have been published since our last visit.
Not much of the dam can be seen at the moment, the water level is rather low.

Log for Another view of the Dam signed at 12:03 and cache returned as found. Thanks for the smilie and bringing us here **youngoldfella**. This log is trackable, mention where you saw it.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our time staying in the Barambah Bush Caravan Park and caching the local area. We have found over 60 caches. (many owned by this CO) and all have been in great condition and well maintained.
If we didn’t know there was supposed to be some water here we would have guessed this was just local farmland. Send down some rain Huey
Many thanks for showing us this area youngoldfella

This week-end Caro (from Jess & Caro) & myself teamed up for a few days of geocaching up this way. [^]
Today's geocaching drive started at Moore and finished at Murgon. We did detour into Nanango for lunch as well.
I found a total of 23 caches for the day and Caro found a few more than that.
All finds were found quickly and generally in good condition.
Thanks for the caches.

Heading up north to enjoy the car's aircon in the hot Aussie countryside this Australia Day weekend and to dash out every now and then and find some caches along the way.
Brother Colin can drive when I need a cold beverage, hehehe. That may be quite soon, seeing how hot this day has gotten!
This was one of a total of 37 finds for me today, and it turned out to be a very enjoyable Australia Day.

Me last attempt at finding this cache was thwarted by muggles [:o]
I returned today in the hope that the shoreline would be clear.
The muggle camp had gone,
and a quick find and sign of the logbook was enjoyed
Lots of bird life on the dam below today.

Driving towards Goomeri this morning and I knew that this one needed some attention. Arrived at GZ and opened the container. The moisture inside is from condensation. Dried out the container and removed some of the wet swag. New log book and three clip seal bags. This log book should be OK now despite any new condensation. All good to go.
Yes, with our caravan behind the car, we had to follow the road for a while. And grabbed this one: logbook so wet! Was unusable. So we packed it back and added another logsheet with our names on it.

Good coords led us straight to the cache. Thanks.
Another very well made cache container. Surprised to see we are the first visitors this year!!
Cache contents are very wet and the log book is sodden but we managed to gently peel the pages open and signed the log with our fantastic pen
We wiped things dry but the book remains wet.

Out for a Sunday drive collecting a few smilies. Thanks for the cache from Bindair and The Princess.
Found on a nice drive in the district while camping with X&S at a favourite campsite of ours.
We are heading toward a milestone event, so we decided to set ourselves a challenge to achieve a few milestones all at once. To manage this however, we have found ourselves on a roadtrip which would provide us with an abundance of caches ... perfect for our requirements.
Fortunately, all the caches we found today seemed to be pretty straight forward and we managed to add our name to the log book without any difficulty.
Thank you youngoldfella for having placed the series and maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

After being idle and tied up with household chores over the last few weeks, It didn't take to much prodding to decide a mini road trip was in order.
After consulting the trusty map decided that a little adventure North through Yarraman, Narango and Kingaroy. And because youngoldfella places his caches along some great country roads the marjority of attempts would be on his caches, With a few others thrown in for good measure Nice cache thanks for bringing me here and for the adventure.

Thursday, August 10, 1893. : Today is International Biodiesel Day, in remembrance of when Rudolf Diesel's engine, powered by a biofuel, ran on its own power for the first time.
Rudolf Christian Karl Diesel was born on 18 March 1858 in Paris, although his parents were German. Diesel was a German inventor, most famous for his invention of the Diesel engine. He designed a single 3 m iron cylinder with a flywheel at its base which ran on its own power for the first time in Augsburg, Germany on 10 August 1893. August 10 has thus been declared International Biodiesel Day, to commemorate this event. The diesel engine was originally intended to run on bio-fuel such as vegetable oil, rather than the petroleum-based diesel fuels predominantly used today.

This was the second day of caching in Nanango for Captain Terror and I. We had come up for Nanango's first event and this morning we were out caching with Bulldozer72. This was the eighteenth cache for the day for me. We pulled up at GZ for this cache and before I could take my seatbelt off and fall out of the backseat of Bulldozer's Ute Captain Terror had leapt out, graceful like a Gazelle and had grabbed the container. We added our names to the logbook and replaced as found. Thanks for the cache youngoldfella
Sometime between late yesterday afternoon and this morning, Net88 and I decided to have the morning out with bulldozer72 grabbing whichever geocaches took our fancy on a circuit drive from where we were all camped in Nanango to Kingaroy, onto Murgon, then back to Nanango. Along the way I grabbed twenty finds, we visited a bunch of interesting locations, had a tasty picnic lunch at Bjelke-Petersen Dam and had a few laughs. What more could you want?
Having the longest legs means I tend to get in and out of the car fastest and make the most actual finds for most groups I geocache with. Today was no exception. Bulldozer parked us right next to this one and with it being on my side, of course I made the find. The last finders left the hide in a bit of a state so it was quickly spotted.
Everything inside in good condition so the logbook was signed, then I made sure it was carefully replaced and covered over as I feared the local muggles may see it otherwise. Onwards though to the views and a U-turn in a driveway. It's not an angle of the dam most would see, but lovely all the same. There are definitely worse blocks of land to build a house on than those nearby. Thanks for this geocache, youngoldfella

#1287 @ 12:19 pm. Road trip weekend with spinna76 and Stacevel out to Nanango for Nanango's First Event. TFTC youngoldfella!
A great day of caching with beautiful weather and glorious scenery. We managed to meet up with the splendid Sss - Stacevel, *SuzySquirrel* and Spinna76 and our joint caching activity added to our pleasure of the day. We got a bit sidetracked at a winery near the dam when an very necessary stop was made "to spend a penny" and resulted in wine tasting and leaving with a box under our arm. Nice to be able to make these sorts of stops as well as geocaching. We found this cache after a short search - nice one. Thanks to youngoldfella for its placement and adding to our enjoyment of this location.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip around the area today. We started the day off by nominating a cache some distance away from our caravan park and then took a route mainly determined by the next closest cache according to our GPS.
We love youngoldfella caches because the majority are bigger than a mint tin or 200ml Sistema, and are usually "kid friendly".
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
Cache Condition: The container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.[font=Verdana]

Out on a big adventure today, April 19, 2015 11:10AM geocaching with MinkosDes working our way to Nanango again. Love the area. TFTC youngoldfella much appreciated.
Wow, the views on offer are just stunning today. With the weather being cool, what more could one ask for.
This cache was found at 11:10 on 19 April 2015 and is #1220 for my ever growing geo:map.
It was also part of a Geocaching bush adventure that I shared with Fairy Mother today.
When deciding where to go hunting, it is always a struggle trying to find somewhere that one has not been... Well, upon looking at the map it was decided that a place once visited, was calling out for our return. That area being the now heavily cached-up and beloved Nanango.
Thank you for the cache youngoldfella!
