This was our last little stretch of dirt road before heading back into Kingaroy to watch the footy. So far we had only had one DNF which was a cache that looked to be burnt to a crisp.Thats the beauty of the nice big hides out here. Its not muggles that are going to get them, its only fire. tftc
Out doing a loop ride north from Nanango to round up a few caches. Bit over 40 km with 21 caches along the way. I did do a few km along the highway along the way. However there is a nice wide edge to the highway and most vehicles gave me a wide berth.Lid broken on container but contents are still all dry. Correct repositioning under the log should keep things that way.
A very last minute decision sees me driving a couple of hours north to spend the day in Nanango…
A great day driving the country roads collecting a variety of caches…

Working may way towards a personal milestone of caches found in one day. Target is 70 and this cache is number 49 for the day.
On track to get there by close of play.

Two TASSIES still out and about, but turned the corner and heading for home. First day out from Hervey Bay, and "camped" at a rather "unusual" caravan/motorhome park to say the least ! A little sortie this afternoon yielded this cache, even though there was a "road closed" sign. The hide was only a short distance past this point so we winged it, and soon had log in hand. Another one thanks YOF.
We managed to get into this one from the other end of the lane, but decided not to go any further. Wandered round a bit before finding.
Rain put a bit of a dampener on today's plans literally, but in the morning it allowed us to do a bit of housekeeping and minor repairs.
After lunch from the pizza place in town we decided to head out and dodge the showers and see what we could find. Our early efforts where stymied when Loche Lane was closed, but we moved around to some others. When finished here we thought we would push our luck and head out to Nanago Brooklands Rd and a few caches that are along there. That was a great decision as there was some really good caching along that section.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache youngoldfella.

Tftc YOF, day out from Nanango today to collect a few caches that we missed out on last time we were in the area
Weather fabulous , but will get warmer .
Long grass made this one a bit harder

Wow, what cool toys this one had. Better stuff than the average marble you might find.
And a nice big container to boot !
A great surprise here.
Took nothing.
Left an autograph.
Thanks yof for the cache !

Love your nice big caches. Nice and easy to find and full of goodies. Our last cache for tonight. We just wanted to add a couple of extra to our tally so that hopefully we can reach 100 cache finds for the whole weekend. Sitting at 54 right now. Back to the showgrounds now to play some cards and read some books. TFTC.
TFTC. We are in Nanago for a few days before heading to Maryborough on Friday. We arrived just after lunch and set up camp at the showgrounds. We then settled on a direction to head to find as many caches as possible in the couple of hours before it got dark. A great couple of hours with 21 finds and only 1 DNF. Despite the rain the dirt roads were in good condition. High grass, so glad we were playing today and not in the height of summer. Thanks YOF for the adventure.
My husband and I are staying at nanango for a couple of days and this afternoon i dropped him off at the races and I'm off finding some caches. Love this country rd. Great swaps here. The kiddies would love it
I spotted it nd leaned over to grab it. Signed the log, and Mrs George kindly put it back for me. TFTC, YOF.
I think I remember what I wrote here in the app. At GZ we both looked and I finally spotted it and leaned over to retrieve it. After logging it, Mrs George over the other side kindly replaced it for me. TFTC, Youngoldfella.
After attending an event and doing some caching in Toowoomba, I headed to Nanango on a special trip to find the rare turtle TB, Mikey. Going through Crows Nest I did a detour to do the Adventure Lab then the bonus puzzle and by this time is was getting dark so back to the job at hand. Arrived around 8pm and headed straight to this cache, no torch, battery low on the phone so just used my head lights. Quickly understood the hint but oh so many choices in the dark. Worse case scenario would be to come back in the daylight hours but perseverance paid off and I finally got my hands on the log book and more importantly, the TB.

Was able to return and open container and log has now been signed. Dropped rare TMNT trackable, felt cache deserved it after giving me so much trouble to get into it.
I found your cache with my Dad, Oddiewan and most of the time, Semik. I am way behind on logging so learned how to use templates so I can catch up. Sorry this is not a detailed log, but I will do better with my logging now that I have the ability to log caches on a mobile phone. Thanks for the cache youngoldfella
Caching with Oddiewan, Moneydork, Flash_Cat, BitternA4 and others at the New Year event in Kilkivan. Exploring the area caching style and as always lots of laughs when enjoying time with friends.
Day after the 2019-2020 New Years catch up.
Caching our way home to Brisbane
Caching buddies for this trip are Semik, Money Dork, Flashcat and BitternA4.

TFTC, tried so hard to open it but the lid was very stuck. Took a photo log. Will come back with a better tool to try and open.
On our way south after the QOGM event Blackall, grabbing a few caches on the way. We visited your cache at 8:58 am Logs signed Coongoola or CG. Thanks for placing this cache youngoldfella

Out caching for the weekend with the Tough Mother’s (Jemillalucy, Bennyboppers, and Lisylou). TFTC!
Again another cache on this Locke Lane series that was left with minimum of camo. Have added more.
A little chilly start to the morning ready to find some caches enjoyed the hides signed log and returned container. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache. TFTC
Out and about on a day of caching adventures, seeking Hidden Creatures and getting a few smilies . After a very early and foggy start to the day we arrived in Nanango for a quick stop to stretch the legs and acquire some sustenance for the day ahead. We then travelled up hills, down dales and all over the local country lanes bouncing over pot holes and swimming through a few boggy patches.
We scrambled through long grass, poked our hands into all manner of hidey holes and found all the caches in good order, where they were supposed to be. Logs were signed and everything was returned as found. Thanks youngoldfella for a most enjoyable day and for bringing us to a new place to explore. TNLNSL TFTC .

Today's caching hunt was brought to us courtesy of youngoldfella, with his extensive list of caches in and around Nanango. We have had another busy day selecting from the menu on offer and have had a lot of fun.
Apologies for the generic log but that's the way it has to be for us. Each found cache had our name put on its log before it was replaced as it had been found. Thanks, youngoldfella, for the variety of containers and hide types. We only wish we had more time to continue working on your caches.

Decided to spend a few days camping in Nanango with my geodog Scruffy, so we just had to go out and find some of the caches hidden in this beautiful part of QLD.

I parked nearby and was about to make my way to this cache when a couple of muggles drove past. Going into super sleuth ninja cacher mode I opened the fridge and got a water bottle out, looking totally innocent and smiling as the muggles continued on their way. Thanks for this cache, youngoldfella!
Absolutely no worries with the parking on the geocycle, not that I saw any traffic along this part of the roads.
We noticed remnants of an old wooden structure as we left GZ here after finding the cache.

We will be leaving very soon to attend the Red Centre Experience Event being held in Alice Springs and have decided we would try to make that event a milestone ... the only problem is we are a few hundred caches short This was the perfect excuse for a quick road trip through Nanango/Murgon/Kingaroy The weather was a little rainy, but surprisingly we remained relatively dry during the day with the worst of the rain occurring while we camped overnight [^]
We managed to locate this cache easily and with our name added to the log book, we continued on our journey.
Thank you youngoldfella for having placed the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

Travelling around Australia and now super excited to be finally starting our trek to the Easter Geocaching Event at Alice Springs.
Spoilt for choice it was difficult to decide on where to cache today. We decided on a small loop before lunch then a longer list for the afternoon.
We were impressed with the quality of the cache locations and containers here in Nanango. Very happy with our total of 42 finds with only 2 DNF's add to that 1 cache that muggles were hanging around even though we tried twice today. Think we will retry that on Monday when schools in.

On a cache run from Toowoomba to Nanango with Eskies5 as I head towards a targeted milestone. Skipping over Nanango we decided to head down this road and do a bit of a loop to grab a stack! All caches along here were found after a quick search, GPS coords were excellent. Containers in great condition. Sorry about the cut and paste logs, so many found today! TFTC and day youngoldfella
A numbers run was required in order for Kestal to reach a milestone on an upcoming trip and the Nanango area provided a suitable playground. Usually I am a list maker but today I was just the driver and I had no idea what was on the agenda...a handful of those on the list I had previously found but was happy to stop by again for Kestal to jump out and make the find. I apologise for the largely cut n paste logs as we did manage to collect 50+ smilies today. TFTC youngoldfella.
After spending the last few weeks settling in to my new abode and being domestic and stuff like that. Decided that I had to get back to doing what I like best Geo Caching. So I set out on a mini road trip to explore my new surrounds and hopefully pick a few caches along the way. Thanks for bringing me here
Today was a combination of both domestic duties and geocaching. After moving into the caravan park and saying gidday to the Gullivers it was time to wash clothes, the floor, do some cooking etc. Then out we headed to do some geocaching. We love these rural areas for geocaching and we enjoyed the location and finding the cache. Thanks to youngoldfella for its placement and adding to our enjoyment of this location.
Captain Terror and I had been looking forward to this weekend for quite some time. We had driven up last night and after failing to sleep in this morning we decided to grab a bunch of geocaches before the event.
This was the twelfth cache for the day and again a nice, easy, quick find on a youngoldfella cache. We pulled up in the Subaru and Captain Terror dashed over to the container. We signed our names in the logbook, wrote some notes to make logging easier and headed back to the car. Thanks for the cache youngoldfella.

On arrival at GZ with Genyo we caught up with another set of cachers. We quickly had the cache in hand and logged signed. TFTC!
Found with Tassiegirl while out here for this weekend's event.
It's great getting out in the bush and finding caches around places like this.
These types of cache runs let you see a lot more of the area than just what's beside the highway to the next town.

Last night Net88 and I drove up to Nanango to begin our long weekend for Nanango's First Event. Arriving later than anticipated, then putting up the tent meant an exceedingly early night by our standards. Then, when the sun came up and it was bright in the tent at around 04:30 we had no choice but to get up and begin the day. With a few hours between breakfast and the event starting, we chose to go geocaching, of course. So many to find so we targeted by size, prioritising Large containers, then any regulars in between - which made for a most enjoyable and productive morning.
Again another case of a quick find on an icon that ticks a box to make it enjoyable in the area. I parked us close and this time it was on my side. We hopped out, but being a bit of long grass and a big log, Net chose to let me fend for myself and hope nothing hiding in there wants to eat me. It didn't take me long to navigate into the hiding spot and make the find again on a great homemade(?) geocache container. As I signed the logbook I noted the area wants a little bit of heavy-duty CITO, though as we found in Stanthorpe, councils rarely want to deal with tyres I replaced the geocache as found and we're off for the next one. Thanks for this geocache, youngoldfella
