Initially thought I'd worked this out incorrectly. But it turns out the hint object was covered by a piece of litter. Signed and replaced. TFTC!
Gotcha! Staying at the nearby Holiday Park. Needed an excuse for an evening stroll. What better than finding a local geocache! Search & found as previous finder described, tftc!
I had calculated coords in preparation, but we couldn't find anything, tried to approach from the other side, only to find a bee's nest. Came back to original coords and walk with the right bearing, same tree, looked harder, and moved some rubbish, there is was, all good, and super camouflaged under a huge piece of plastic, that might not have meant to be there, anyway, replaced as found.
Ended up back up here before work, and todays a multi dot day. A fleeting visit, so it was good that I'd presolved this one.. All good, thanks for the placement Nosynel I noted down the colour, and was able to get it, sign and put back without anyone driving by. Thought I might have to wait for a couple muggles but no... Nice! Thanks for the placement.TFTC Nosynel, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 1 find(s) of 1 today, making this find #4949
Straightforward find once I took the right bearing haha. Set off on a wild goose chase at 35 to start with
The weather wasn't good enough to climb up on mountains but not so bad so after 2 months in Hanmer I could finally do the cache trip in and around the city. TFTC
found while on holiday with nana and grandad. Thank you for putting it here for us all to find

On our way to camp with two of our grandsons. We are in Hanmer for a weekend of play - with togs and bikes packed it should be a blast. Hopefully the weather plays ball and we can enjoy an outdoorsy weekend. Being Nelson anniversary we get an extra day which makes it worthwhile to travel with the kids.
This was a nice easy find even though the tree was a bit drippy with all the drizzle that is around this evening.
I need a multi and a mystery today to help towards a challenge cache in Christchurch we are slowly working towards. Very handy to have one of each nearby.
Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley

Enjoyed a day trip to Hanmer. Had a nice soak in the pools and a walk up Conical Hill. Just time to grab a cache before we headed home. It was a quick find. TFTC.
The first 2 caches we looked for today were DNF's, the first possibly due to our (mis)calculations, the 2nd we couldn't find. This one was a nice easy find even though we didn't really do the projection as the GPS is new and we are still working out how to use it. Lid colour noted and log signed then we were off again. tftc
So excited. This is our 800th find and it’s a mystery. We usually stick to trads. Just finishing off our South Island road trip and filling in a couple of days till our ferry crossing. Great cache. Thanks for doing this.
A nice, quick multi cache. Crunched the numbers and headed out to GZ and fortunately I have long arms, as the cache was quite a way in. TFTC
Thought I had this worked out correctly and yes it was an easy find. Thanks for the cache Nosynel. Off to pick up UTC4 tomorrow I hope.
It was time to locate a few of the PWGT caches out North Canterbury way and any others that might get in the way.
This was one of the others. I had solved this a couple of years ago.
Cheers for the cache.

Nice multi, sorry for late logging just playing catch up with last year's caching.
Staying at the nearby holiday park and thought we'd try a couple of caches. Not done a multi in a while so this was fun. It's a beautiful evening with a sunset trying to peek over the hills.
After dinner, we went for a bit of a tiki tour and passed this cache. We have never done one of these caches successfully but we do now have a lovely compass so we thought we would give it a go. It is a nice isolated road so our exploits were not being watched. We were successful which made us grin from ear to ear.
On my way down to Hanmer for an overnight before walking the St James Walkway, so what's a short road trip without some caching on the way?
All checked in at my accommodation for the evening and dinner eaten, there was still enough day light left to squeak in a few more caches.
I'd crunched the coordinates for this cache a good while back ahead of a future visit and so today's the day.
I was only stabbed in the head once as I approached so not too bad I guess.
Thanks Nosynel. Found on this cache's 6th birthday I see.

A nice wee multi that was found as quick as a flash. It has been a hot day here and starting to cool down as the wind picks up. All good here. TFTH
I'm in Hanmer for a couple of nights with a bunch of close riends and have had a little free time to find some caches.
I solved this in advance and was delighted to find the cache today.
Thanks for the problem to solve and for the cache, Nosynel.
PS - I found a pair of sunnies at the cache - I'll message recent finders.

Aha, a classic offset multi-haven't seen one for ages. Accurate setup and an easy find. Thanks Nosynel!
First one of this series. Stopped at the first point, did the projection but spent a few minutes searching before realising it wasn't as far away as the GPS was pointing. Got the colour, signed the log and while doing so noticed a vehicle back where we first stopped, pause for a minute, turn around, pause another minute before driving back past us to do another turn around. I wonder if they were up what we were doing. Can't see another log here yet so maybe they were just lost. Now onto #3, the next one.
Early start to the day with a walk through the forest doing the multi ...and a few caches then up conical hill.
Then over to Pete's pass it was time for a few p & g's , feels like I have been walking all day..
Had to revisit this one as there was a few muggles around on my first visit..
Made hard work of this , initially dismissing the spot where I finally found it not sure if I will get any more of the series done this visit tftc

Started off our afternoon with this one, the first in this series! Hoping to find the rest..... A lovely day in Hanmer and great to be able to cache again. TFTC
We are at level 2 so geocaching is permitted.

Due to the government ordered Covid-19 lockdown, I will be doing my bit to #slowthespread. From 11.59pm on Wednesday 25 March 2020.
The virus can survive on plastic and paper for longer than three days
If you would like a geocaching related activity to do while you are observing the lockdown, I welcome messages about how to solve my puzzle caches - I am happy to give hints and tutorials so you have lots of new caches to find when this is over.

Out exploring Hanmer Springs with Busy paws. So happy to try using app to see if I could get this and yes oh joy. Then to find the cache and very happily sign it. Thanks for the game and learning experience here as well as the cache Nosynel.
Played with my phone and we all had a lesson on projections!! SO easy in the end. A nice easy find at GZ. TFTC and making us "play" with a phone . Found with Coconuts3.
New Zealand we are back again.
Hoping to find some caches at secret or interesting locations we are with the motorhome on the road.
Today we will leave Hanmer Springs and this Mini-Multi was a nice farewell.
Thanks to Nosynel for hiding and maintaining.

# 1762 Undertaking a bit of a raid on the top half of the south island. The main intent is the geotour caches with the base of operations here in Hamner Springs. Undertook a bit of a clean up operation on easily accessible caches around here over the day off.
This was the eleventh of the day and my second attempt. Used an online projection tool to figure out where, which lead me somewhere but couldnt find the cache as cache bias lead me to believe I was searching for something bigger. Came back later when the ITM wasnt so busy, used projection on my GPS to lead me to the same spot.. and then found another hint item I hadn't inspected this morning and there it was. Cheers Nosynel for this one. Only just realised it is a part of a series but have run out of time for that now.

We're in Hanmer Springs for today, and my wife wanted to shop before a trip to the pools, so the lad and I hit the roads and trails for a quick cache decathlon before lunch. With only one DNF we managed 10 finds in some pretty nice areas.
We pulled up after a near overshoot, walked back, set the GPS for a waypoint projection and walked straight to the cache. Maybe we'll be back one day for the final? TFTC

Thanks had a dot day today and my race doesn’t start till 10am so a short drive out here to collect a cache or two.
Had stayed up here a couple of years ago and collected some cache so pleased I didn’t have to drive too far this morning.
Running the miler haven’t run up here before but worth the trip to get a different buckle.

This was a pleasantly simple multi to do on such a warm day. Snd plenty of safe parking for a motor home. Thanks for the cache Nosynel
I was on my bike today. I had left the vehicle at Novus getting my crack sorted and had the morning hooning around the city.
Heading back to the pools and a quick detour and quick find.
Thanks for the cache Nosynel.

A little raid on Hanmer and happy to find this one all warm and dry. So many Hanmer caches have gone;--pity they weren't archived. Thanks N.
Thanks for the cache girls weekend with jo I jo croton Jess sour Belinda and nean
A quick find today while out tracking down some caches in the area. TFTC [^]
Day 1 of our Easter raid East and were finally out collecting some points for the Planetary Pursuit.
I had solved this at home when it first came out so it was a quick easy PnG here today. Lid colour noted and onto the next. This was our first Multi of the trip and we only needed 1 more point to get to Saturn so tipped us over the line so double Thanks for the cache

Arrived in Hanmer Springs this afternoon and settled in at the campsite before an evening caching walk.

Find no 1800 a little milestone for me. Cheers for the multi that I could actually work out.
A drive along this road to see how far we got before the afternoon thunderstorm. Mr D headed off to get it, making Mrs D and the GPS redundant.
Day #2 of our weekend away in Hanmer, and after a lovely day yesterday, the weather had deteriorated. It was quite chilly and drizzled off and on, and by mid morning, we had enough and headed back to Chch.
Pres-solved this so went straight to the final. A quick find. Not the sort of weather to enjoy a holiday under canvas, especially with the strong winds of last night. TFTC.

#14404. The showery weather put us off doing any walks, so we stuck to drive-bys. Quick find. TFTC.
Quick and easy find on a wet day. Decided to walk a bit around and grab a few caches that we had not attempted in the past - today it was time to fill the gap. Thanks for the nice series of caches.
We had already done the bearing and saved a corrected co-ord at home. When we checked out that spot this morning it did not fit well with the hint. But a short distance along the road we could see something that looked likely - and proved to be GZ. Thanks.
Tftc our second multi today! Pink lidded cache where we got to after bearing walk. Was 40 of my strides.
Easy find on way from campground to town for Jojo, Rachelle, Darron, myself and Jed the geodog. TFTC. Haven't solved rest of the series but we will be back.
Got to posted coordinate and saw where it would be based on the hint. Had to out wait the lady tending her horses then made a longer than it should have but glad to get it ticked off.
We don't do canvas but do do caching puzzles. This was done by instinct - parked near the waypoint and Sobad said that the bearing would be in about that direction. When the GPS said the right number - there was a cache. Log signed, colour recorded and on to number 3.
Thanks.
Thanks.
On a mission as support crew to support my whitewater-rafting workmates as they head to, onto and off the Waiau river with just an inflated pece of rubber and expert guides to assist them. My part of the journey is to travel down to Hanmer Springs by van, overnight, then off to the river the following afternoon to collect the team and bring them home. Sounds simple enough, you'd think.
Unfactored was that the clutch on my van would have a hissy fit and dump some of it's fluid and produce a burning overheating smell along with loss of power as soon as I got onto the Inland Kaikoura route. Nursed it all the way to Hanmer and it got as far as the Hundalees before being towed back yesterday evening. Quite the adventure. In between that though.....there was some caching. Of course.
First of the canvas series to start the day. 0715 and fresh frost on the ground, winter's coming Jon Snow. Projected coordinates with geocachingtoolbox.com and used those coordinates to search. Took a couple of goes before the coloured critter appeared.
T F T C and onwards I go

I haven't completed a projection for a while and still haven't because I stuffed it up somehow. So I consulted the hint and thought I might do a process of elimination type search but yeah found in the first place checked. Now I need to do a bit of practice to work out where I went wrong as next time might not end so well. TFTC #8255
Didn't take long to locate after putting pieces of the puzzle together. Tftc
We do do "under the canvas" but more often than not we go for glamping or when here our favourite holiday home that allows Ellie to come with us. We drove to gz today as we had already had two walks through the forest. We did the offset on instinct and without consulting the hint and ended up in the wrong direction . So then we did it properly and found the cache instantly. The series continues.
Thanks Nosynel for the cache.

Zara and I teamed up with the Seagnoid for an adventure to the Molesworth, Hanmer back to Blenheim, for the weekend. The Molesworth was amazing and I sooo want to come back but we are finally in Hanmer. This area looked interesting on the GPS and got approval by The Seagnoid. Fun multi. Cheers
A friend of mine has just bought a motor home, and although she has been a geocacher for a few years, has done very few caches, so... how about Molesworth? Friday evening to Molesworth Station, Saturday to Hanmer, Sunday back home to Blenheim.
Not really intending to cache out Hanmer - I don't think we have that much time. However TaybeeDragon spotted a couple of blue question marks on my GPS, so we headed out this way. Nice to get another multi under our belts, we don't do enough of them.

On our way home from the Farm park and decided to check out the camping ground up this end and grabbed these caches along the way. Quick easy find and on we go.
Once we'd gotten our bearings, it was a straight forward find. Found with debsnz
Always enjoy practicing this feature on our GPS and it proved to be spot on for us. Found with Aoraki Sheep.
magnetic or true was asked....won't matter over 46m (but we got it right).
Thanks Nosynel for the cache.

We always like to have a little walk after dinner. Our hostel is only 800 m from GZ so this was our destination for tonight. The stash was quickly located. Thanks for this short multi!
Yesterday, NZDi and I decided to do a trip through the Molesworth, overnight in Hanmer Springs and return to Blenheim via the Inland Kaikoura Route today. Of course any unfound caches we came across would gladly be turned into smiley faces. We departed Blenheim at zero dark early (6.15am) and arrived in Hanmer Springs just over 11 hours later and as a result of this trip and one we did back in October, we have cleared all except two caches between Seddon and Hanmer Springs. We didn't have time for dessert yesterday so a couple of caches at Pudding Hill will require another trip. if I I had won a major Lotto prize last night, I was contemplating a helicopter charter for a peak bagging caching trip, but alas, that did not happen.
I preparation for this trip I and a fellow caching workmate who visited Hanmer Springs last week solved some of the local puzzles including this Under the Canvas series. Using the c:geo app on my phone, I was able to work out the final for this multi at home. Now once here at GZ it was a relief to have an easier find than UTC2. Now that we have our second container, we can see a pattern emerging and now have a pretty good idea what to look for at UTC3 and UTC4.
