A new challenge has started for June, the hardest level being to finish the month with at least 20 individual days logged with a cache. This is going to be difficult… mainly for the fact that I’ve already cached-out most of Hutt Valley…
To avoid going for a walk waaaaay into the hills every night after work, I’m aiming for the few remaining caches I have left, this being one. Thankfully this was a quick find.
The cache guardians (snails) were friendly, but unfortunately the cache container is not waterproof and I had to pour the water out. The log was saturated and was falling apart just trying to remove it from the baggy. The few wee swaps were not in good shape either.
I took the cache back to the car and refreshed it. Dried out the container, a new waterproof paper log in a fresh baggy, and also added a few new bits of swag. Hopefully this cache can last a few more years yet.

I had a bit of time after work this evening, so went a little out of my usual way to look for a cache and wound up here. I've not been up this road before, so between the road and the path I can see the inspiration for the cache title
A quick and easy find thanks to the Hint once my phone had settled down and I realised I should have been thinking in 3 dimensions lol. No issues with the log etc which was swiftly signed and replaced as found.
Thanks for setting this one up.

Lots of spider webs and a wet log book. I did leave a treasure that will survive the wet though.
What a great series! Many thanks for the mahi. There was a bit of water in this one but dried things out as good as could and made sure lid was sealed back up
I discovered thi's excellent series ... um... yesterday? And came back for todays bout of local exercise. Excellent if it wasnt for the hills', but if there were no hills' this series' probably wouldnt exist. 'Started by hea'ding for Snake's and Ladders' #4 with a spare container in my backpa''ck but had a lot of trouble trying to find the path - till I read the desc'rip'tion and saw that the cache is 160m away from GZ. And when I got home I saw that it had been archived. Fair enough. But this is 'an' excellent series, as I have already mentione'd and I looked at putting a replacement in, but alas Snakes and Ladder's #1 is too close (If #1 had only been put a little further uphill...)
So, anyway, back on 'the bike, and back on the hill: still to find a cache for today. This one! One of the reasons' I like this series is that it introduces us to features that only the locals (and sometimes, only the extreme locals) would know about. This track isnt even mar'ked on the map's. Anyway, the cache was found, co'ordinates are bang on. 'Once signed and a path'tag added I carried on up the track plott'ing it to add to the maps, which I will do in just a few minute's now that I am home writing this up. I have also found another track that is worthy of adding to the series. Maybe there are more. I'll sneak in a plant a cache or few...
I like this caches' title. I have followed the titles theme by randomly sprin'kling apostohes in this log where they dont belong, and making sure there are none where they 'should be. Grammar is fun!

On foot around Normandale. Oof! Well, it's one way of getting fit! Good find, as per hint. All good in cache, tftc!
This is a cool series! A shame some of the other caches on this route were missing. TFTC )
We found the log sheet sodden so replaced the log and used a new plastic bag. Thanks CO for the cache.
A nice quick find on a sunny winter day. Unfortunately the log is extremely wet and will need replacing. I have attached a photo as proof of find. Thanks
TFTC and my first emerald in the mystery at the museum. Cache was exposed and wet, so dried and hid as intended.
Last find on our morning blat around maungaraki. Quick and easy. Trying to sort GPS out and stumbled on to it.

Our first cache - easier to find than we thought. We have walked this zig-zag track many times and had no idea it was here, but we were muggles then Unfortunately the inside of the cache was wet - we'll try to remember to bring a small plastic bag next time to put it in, which might help keep it dry.
Log and container damp, need dry bag and wipe out. Unfortunately I didn't have anything suitable on me
Found quickly. My second in the series thanks. Log damp but still writable. TFTC! Mrs waiiti20
All quiet near GZ today, and I was rather pleased at the quick easy find as the rain was threatening this morning.

All good at GZ - all dry with a quick find. Thanks for another smilie.
Did you know that planning has started for a Mega Event in Wellington in 2018? Check out the details on the [Wellington Event NZ (WENZ) Website](https://sites.google.com/site/wenzgeo2018/home) or visit the event's page on [FaceBook](https://www.facebook.com/groups/590545297801072/).
Thanks to the Cache Owner who has gone to the trouble of creating this cache, determining the coordinates and then averaging them to make sure they are accurate, placing the cache and registering it online for our enjoyment. Without Cache Owners doing their bit, there wouldn't be a fun hobby that we all love - so again a big THANK YOU. For our bit, all we need to do is find and log the cache that was carefully placed for our personal enjoyment. As we log it we should consider that the Cache Owner also needs to maintain it - when the log sheet fills up, they must replace it. When the container becomes full of water, they need to empty it. When the container is broken, they need to repair it. When it goes missing they need to find or replace it. Well..... the great news is we can do our bit too - make sure your log doesn't take an entire page - just a name and date. If full of water, empty and dry the cache as best as possible. Be careful when handling the cache and make sure you replace it where you found it. If it has a bag, seal it. Just remember - the Cache Owner showed respect to you by placing the cache - please respect them and fellow cachers that follow you by being careful with the cache. And if you have a spare log sheet and the cache you are at needs one, please leave it behind. Finally, if the cache does need maintenance, please let the Cache Owner know - you can log a Maintenance Log or you can drop a line to the Cache Owner. Above all - have fun and remember the Geocaching Code.

Am doing a bit of driving as I travel to find caches for dot days and then log them in the weekend.
I played this game when I was a youngster and this path reminds me of the snakes I was good a sliding down . TFTC.

When I arrived within the vinicity I was a little worried that a temporary looking fence was closing off the path I presumed I needed to access. However it was simply there to prevent people from walking along the road shoulder on a blind corner. Then when I got closer to GZ there was mounds of mulch from a recent mowing and I thought the cache might be buried. That proved unfounded too and the cache was actually a quick find. TFTC.
Day 15 of our North Is trip spent in Wellington and Lower Hutt. I had a list of solved puzzles to find plus I wanted to do some maintenance of a few of my own hides in the Hutt.
Good to have a parking place on this narrow and twisty road. Quickly spotted the tell tale signs of cache hide . A bit of water in the container, which we tipped out, but the swaps are doing a good job of keeping the log book high and dry. TFTC.

Today was the day after the big earthquake that caused so much damage, especially to the region around Kaikoura. In Wellington there was heavy rain and gale Northerlies. Civil Defence recommended people stay home and avoid non-essential travel.
I walked to this location from my home. An easy find exactly where the hint said it would be.
All nice and dry inside.
Thank you

4th in the series for us this afternoon- alittle backwards.
Easy pak and grab really- well, nearly.
Easy pak and grab really- well, nearly.
I think the cache had bee disturbed by the rough weather as I found it on the path amongst a few small rocks about a metre below a hint object. I have returned it to a place more in line with the hint. TFTC
Mrs Sobad's sister knew exactly where this would be and a good walking route to get there as it was part of her regular walk a few months ago. Today her sister did her T 1 walk and Mrs Sobad did the bigger circuit. No problem to find the cache, but she did have to pour a bit of water out. Log was nice and dry.
Thanks. Now home for lunch.

Quick find while in the area this afternoon. Was out in the open so recovered with hint object. Thanks for the cache.
No problems finding this one. Very pleasant and peaceful up here today. The higher you go the less cars you encounter. The noisiest things were the tuis flitting from tree to tree. TFTC
Took a bit of detour home one night to grab a cache. Nice and easy find. TFTC
Missed this snakes and ladders cache last time we were up here - had to tick it off this time. A bit of water in the container, but the log was dry. TFTC.
#1290. As I was driving from the previous cache the rain started to fall. I threw on my coat and started searching for this one. Couldn't find it at first then realised I was searching in someones driveway! So found the correct path and once on it the location of the cache became more obvious. Had to dig it out from quite a bit of debris. By now the rain was steady so took it back to the car to sign the logbook. Log remained dry. Put back where found and headed home. TFTC. However the drama had only started to unfold. The heavens opened up as I drove through Maungaraki and steamed up visibility made it very hard to see. Must have run over something somewhere as when I was driving along the motorway the car was not behaving very well. I thought it was the strong wind gusts. By the time I reached the Old Hutt Road I heard the old unwelcome "thump thump thump" and knew I had a flat tyre. What a night to have to change a tyre in the dark! Thankfully I have an AA card...
Cache # 2,636 - A quick and easy cache today. All is well there. Thank you! TNLNSL.
I missed an opportunity to park very close to this cache by parking further down the hill than I needed to. Never mind, I needed the walk. It was nice to be able to find this cache and sign the log out of view of passing traffic.
No hint need some caches are just too obvious. Note: The parking is much better driving up the hill. -TB TFTC.
TFTC. A quick find once the phone GPS decided to behave itself. Discovered a trackable I was carrying just fitted, so I dropped that off as I don't like to keep them for too long.
My second of the series and last for the day. My GSAK seems to be missing the others so I didn't have them loaded on my GPSr. Anyway soon located the cache and its all safe & sound after the rain. TFTC
Some paths you would not know where there unless you were a local. Easy find by Selesi & I. TFTC
Converting a onesy to a foursey, so nicely placed caches in the 'hood do the trick.
Straightforward find on this one. Cache in order; log signed, then safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

Out for a run with my mate Mcbeth11 and thought we would stop by this one on our way home.
Lovely evening, a bit too warm to be running up hill though

#6258. Stopped by Miromiro Road for a short walk. A couple of vehicles parked nearby, but GZ itself was all quiet. Quick find. The cache was in good condition. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log. Thanks for the cache.
#597 A nice quick find, with a very convenient parking space nearby. A great little container. TFTC
Diverted to here this morning on the way to Upper Hutt. Found the cache after a few minutes, it wasn't where the GPSr was pointing me and I hadn't read the useful information on the cache page. I'm not sure how long this one will last, it's not all that well protected. Signed log, TFTC
I've lived on the western hills for 11 years but I think this is the first time I've gone down this stretch of road. A quick find for a damp dot day. TFTC
Quick find . Had to wait for neighbour hood noisy parker to move on. He watched me get out the car and walk up the track . Tftc
The "neighborhood nosey parker" was in fact me trying to determine if you were a cacher or muggle! Sorry I didn't get to meet you! Found log to follow!
3TF. An easy find. As I walked down the path a car pulled up, I couldn't really see how it could be other than a cacher stopping there but didn't want to compromise the cache if it wasn't! I tried to wave around my GPS but I think I got it out a bit too late for the person (who turned out to be pukeho1- see her log!) to see it and I wasn't sure whether or not she was consulting one or her phone. So I watched from a distance (convincing her that I was a nosey neighbour!) to see if she stopped at the post in which case I was going to muggle her! However I couldn't really see from below so went on my way.
